where can i get the new SAP Memory Analyzer (JAVA) for windows 64bit  installations ?
i just found it for 32 -bit , and this can not be installed on windows 64bit maschines .
thank you
hannes toefferl

Hi Hannes,
Sorry, I fixed the error on the Wiki page. Currently we can only offer the download of the 32 bit Windows version. We are however discussing to put the current version out as plugins ZIP and hopefully on an update server, as well.
For now, please have a look at our Wiki which describes how to create your own installation based on the plugins stored in the installer:
Excerpt from the Wiki ---
However, since we are based on Eclipse 3.2.0 you can try this: Download Eclipse 3.2.0 for your platform, copy our plug-ins (can be found in the installer -> Resource1.ZIP -> MemoryAnalyzer.zip -> plugins) into the plugins folder of your Eclipse installation and open the Memory Analysis perspective. On Windows 64 bit and Linux 64 bit (x86_64/GTK 2) this proved to work. Don't forget to give your Eclipse installation plenty of Java heap - the more, the faster.
Kind regards,
Vedran

    Hi,
You can find documentation on the wiki :
    https://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/sdn/wiki?path=/display/java/javaMemoryAnalysis&
There's a link on this page
    (https://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/sdn/wiki?path=/pages/viewpage.action&pageid=33456)
that explains how to do a heap dump.

  • Acquire the non-evaluation version of SAP Memory Analyzer

    Hi.
I'd like to know how to acquire a validly licensed copy of the non-evaluation version of SAP Memory Analyzer.
My co-workers have been using it and seems to be useful.
    Thanks,
    Mariano.

    Hi Mariano,
right now you cannot acquire the SAP Memory Analyzer separately. It is bundled with NetWeaver CE 7.10. Sorry, I can only tell you that you can use the evaluation license.
There is hope, however. In Q1 or Q2 SAP will open source the whole tool to the Eclipse community. Read the proposal on the Eclipse site: [http://www.eclipse.org/proposals/memory-analyzer/]. As you can see, we try to make it happen within the next 90 days... I can't promise anything, but we will work hard to do it.
Until then we have only the license available which comes with the current SDN download.
    Kind regards,
       - Andreas.

  • Where to Download the SAP Memory Analyzer

    Hi,
I atended into the SAP Memory Analyzer presentation on the TechDay and it seemed to be a Free Tool but When I go into the link to Download it it says that it has a 90 day License and that it can not be used in production, does somebody knows what happened?
    Thanks in Advanced!!!

    Hi Pavel,
you may either use the standalone version of MAT to analyze Heapdumps (Eclipse Memory Analyzer Open Source Project) or install Eclipse IDE, then Perspectives "SAP JVM Profiler" from SAP Service Marketplace ("Browse Catalog...">"SAP JVM Supportability Tools"...) and then Perspective "Memory Analyzer" from http://download.eclipse.org/mat/1.4/update-site/ to have some combined tool, see example screenshot from documentation of SAP JVM Profiler:.

  • SAP Memory Analyzer problem

    Hi All,
I tried to use Memory Analyzer 1.1 on a heap dump generated in WAS when I got an OOM exception and the .hprof file could not be opened and a alert box saying that a NullPointer Exception had happened. Can you please advice as to what to do.
    Regards,
    Novik

Well, let me give you a quick follow-up about this posting:
hprof originally is an agent which can write memory maps from a running VM. As such, it can also run on IBM VMs, however, it produces only a textual output which (a) is very slow to generate and (b) does not contain all data necessary for the analysis.
So to be more precise, the Memory Analyzer works with hprof formatted binary heap dumps. These heap dumps are written by current Sun, HP and SAP virtual machines. Check our Wiki pages for the concrete version numbers.
In this particular dump, a IBM VM was used and the output not readable.

  • Free memory apps for 32-bit processor

    Dear All
There are some free apps for memory like 'memory clean' in the Mac App Store. However my Macbook has 32-bit processor so I cant use most of them. Are there any free apps for memory for 32-bit processor macbooks?

You're not missing anything, since all of those apps are completely useless.

  • SAP Management Console for 64 Bit systems?

    Hello everybody!
I want to install the SAP NetWeaver 7.01 ABAP Trial Version, but I have a problem with the SAP Management Console.
My operation system is Vista (64 Bit) and the following error message is being displayed when I want to install the MMC:
"This installation does not support 64 Bit Windows Operation systems. Please use the corresponding 64 Bit installation package.
Is there any 64 Bit installation package like that available?

Well, I've read in another post, that the installer and the trial system work for 32-bit systems only.
Is the trial going to be work for 64-bit systems anytime?

  • Virtual Memory Settings for 64 bit Unix boxes

I am running out of virtual memory on my Unix box. I have several applications running, including ASO cubes. My config is as follows:
    8 Gig Ram
    16 Gig Virtual
    Solaris 10-64
    Essbase 9.3.1 64 bit
Can I set my virtual ram higher or do I need to bump up my physical ram first?

The goal of having virtual memory is not to increase native capacity, but to provide a place for inactive tasks to be "nearly" active.
It is the things you list which make it possible (although admitedly not likely) that a decrease can improve performance. Virtual memory is much slower than real memory, and this is even more of a problem when you have to exchange larger amounts than needed.
The extra page thrashing may occur simply because one program uses memory voraciously when it could otherwise do with less. It could selfishly improve it's performance by 10% by using twice the memory it needs, while causing the system to do everything else through virtual memory. Prior to 64 bit, Essbase would only see 2 GB and thrashing would be a small incremental issue. Now each app can do 4+ times the thrashing as they swap each other out, using significantly more memory to gain a relatively small gain, and grinding the system (as a system) to a halt. Every time the programs switch, the same extra large thrashing is repeated to make room for that voracious appitite again.
Thus the performance issue can occur not so much because there is too little left over, but too much being swapped in between. Both applications may very well work better if they starved a little bit and did more thrashing on smaller work files at slightly less individual performance. This is because they could potentially get the job done with less memory but over-reached as a result of seeing an abundance.
This is a situational condition though, due in part from using software that is aggressive by nature and an OS that supports a lot more memory than previously.
That said, it is still more likely that the answer is to either cut back on memory usage or to add more real memory. If you can reconfigure the individual applications to use less overall, great -- if you can't, add more real memory.
BTW: I've never had issues with Unix based OS's virtual memory -- but my only experience was AIX and I didn't have to deal with hardware on that gig.
Still, I'd recommend that if you can't put your apps on a diet, you test with 12, 16, and 20 GB of virtual memory to find which direction helps, then add real memory if additional virtual memory really helps much.

  • Memory Analysis for a program

    Hi All,
In production sometimes a data load fails because of the less ABAP memory available.
For a perticular load ABAP memory goes till 4 Gb and more and after that load fails with short dump.
This time i change a start routine logic  and split a complex start routine logic in two programs.
Now i want to check about what memory my new programs are taking.
    1. One of the programs is in start routine itself .
    2. Second program is SE38 program.
How I can see the memry consumption while data load.
    thanks
    Mukesh

    HI
SAP memory is for cross-transaction Applications and ABAP/4 memory is transaction-specific. So you can use SQL Trace to see the back ground process tables and details for the same Transaction.
The SAP memory, otherwise known as the global memory, is available to a user during the entire duration of a terminal session. Its contents are retained across transaction boundaries as well as external and internal sessions. The contents of the ABAP/4 memory are retained only during the lifetime of an external session. You can retain or pass data across internal sessions.
The SET PARAMETER and GET PARAMETER statements allow you to write to, or read from, the SAP memory. The EXPORT TO MEMORY and IMPORT FROM MEMORY statements allow you to write data to, or read data from, the ABAP memory.
ABAP memory is a memory area that all ABAP programs within the same internal session can access using the EXPORT and IMPORT statements. Data within this area remains intact during a whole sequence of program calls. To pass data to a program which you are calling, the data needs to be placed in ABAP memory before the call is made. The internal session of the called program then replaces that of the calling program. The program called can then read from the ABAP memory.
Put function group memory in ABAP-MEMORY-- BAL_GLB_MEMORY_IMPORT Get function group memory from ABAP
    Hope it helps

  • Memory analyzer, how to get the to problem root/object

    Hi,
I've viewed the live tutorial from https://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/scn/go/portal/prtroot/docs/library/uuid/f0a5d007-a35f-2a10-da9f-99245623edda.
My case was, i Dominator Tree, all top ten classes (with 95% retained Heap) were from org.hibernate.*, and only a few of my classes (with 1% retained heap) which were from http request/respond thread.
Deep into those top classes, it didn't seem to link to my class; however my web app (use jboss, hibernate/ejb3) was runing of memory (GC overhead limit exceed).
I'm wondering, any other way to find the problem with help of SAP Memory analyzer?
    Thanks

  • Query on Analytical Banking - SAP Bank Analyzer

    Dear all,
I need to start working on SAP Bank Analyzer as part of a capability building plan. In this aspect, I would like to know if there is a download of SAP Bank Analyzer for a trial period of 1 month and if yes, how do we carry out the download. I shall appreciate a quick clarification in this regard.
    Regards
    Subhobrata Talukdar

    Hi Subhobrata,
SAP Bank Analyzer has never been part of SAP ECC. It is shipped as part of Banking Services from SAP.
Banking Services is based on a different Netweaver stack (7.1X) than ECC (7.0X). Installation is only possible as separate instance and requires additional licensing.
An overview of trainings for analytical banking is available at: http://www1.sap.com/services/education/catalog/industry/curriculum.epx?context=%5b%5bBANK_ANAL%5d%5d%7c

  • Creation of Add-on package for 64 bit and 32 bit SAP Business One Client

Please help me creating package for 64 bit and 32 bit SAP Business One. If Add-on executable is compiled with x86 option then there is no issue of connecting Add-on with 32 bit SAP Business one and if Add-on executable is compiled with Any CPU option then there is no issue of connecting Add-on with 64 bit SAP Business one. Problems are mentioned as below
    1. My Add-on uses MS ACCESS connection and the connection is read using Jet OLEDB 4.0 provider. It works fine for x86 compile mode but not when compile mode is Any CPU. I searched for the issue on Google and found a solution to change MS ACCESS connection provider to ACE.OLEDB.12.0 but again ACE provider is installed according to the Office version i.e. 32 bit or 64 bit office suite. If I install 32 bit ACE provider then Add-on executable compiled with x86 version is working fine but with Any CPU option throws error as provider is not registered on current machine.
    2. Secodly, our license validation activex dll is build using vb 6.0 and therefore when Add-on executable is compiled using Any CPU option, Add-on EXE cannot read from license dll. Any suggestion, how the activeX dll can be compiled whose component can be created from for X86 compiled exe and any cpu compiled exe.
Please help because we are stuck in this issue and cannot move forward.
    Thanks.

    Hi Alejandro,
That is one solution but did your add on used ms access connection? if you used Jet oledb to connection string or ace oledb connection string? what if 32 bit office is installed and what if 64 office is installed? how did you found the office version in install script? after determining the office version how did you installed Microsoft redistributable for ace oledb (32 bit or 64 bi )?
I am sorry that I asked many questions but these are the problems where I am stuck with the addon installer?
    Thanks

  • Memory Problems with Adobe PDF iFilter for 64-bit

In preparation to rebuild my Windows Search Index, I installed the Adobe PDF iFilter for 64-bit on my system (Vista Business 64).  When I finally rebuilt the index, I wasn't too surprised by what I saw happen, namely, the SearchFilter.exe process would kick in whenever I wasn't using the system and just eat RAM.  One time I turned it on and it had allocated over 4,000 MB (and my system only has 4,030 MB available) so of course it was forcing all the other processes to hard fault (ie. everything was moving like molasses--for example, it took 20 minutes to put the thing to sleep).  But I just let it do it's work, figuring that perhaps this was to be expected relative to the small library of PDF's that I've accumulated on my computer, ranging from LaTeX generated text files, to containers for hi-res scans.  So, after a day and a half of basically not using my laptop, everything finally calmed down and I enjoyed the benefits of searching the content of my library from the Windows Start menu--for a short while.
However, to my dismay I've encountered the problem that this freezing of my computer would now occur after everytime I download a new PDF (in this particular case they were Google Books scans) and then left the computer to idle.  Again, the SearchFilter.exe would allocate all of my RAM for itself and just push everything else onto the Virtual RAM, which means the SLOWEST possibly fetching you can get.  I had to uninstall as this was making my computer unusable for 15-30 minutes after each idle. Everything is back in working order without the iFilter, but I would like to know if anyone has reported such problems on x64 systems.  Obviously, I will also report the problem to Microsoft, since the search engine should certainly have the precaution to handle such memory problems.   However, it is a problem that is created by the Adobe PDF iFilter interacting with the Windows Search engine.

    Hello,
We believe we have figured this out.  It looks like it has to do with the length of the default folder location for the Adobe iFilter.
I was able to reproduce the issue and the following resolved it for me.  See if this resolves it for you all as well.
Here is how to get Adobe Version 11 PDF filter to work.
1 . If you haven’t already, run the following in SQL Server:
    Sp_fulltext_service ‘Load_os_resources’, 1
    Go
--you might also need to run:
sp_fulltext_service ‘Verify_signature’,0  --This is used to validate trusted iFilters. 0 disables it. So use with caution.
    --go
    2. Stop SQL Server.  (Make sure FDHost.exe stops)
    3.
Uninstall the Adobe ifilter (because it defaulted to having spaces or the folder name is too long).
    4.
Reinstall the Adobe iFilter and when it prompts for where to install it, change it to: C:\Program Files\Adobe\PDFiFilter
    5.  Once the installation finishes, go the computer’s Environment variables. Add the following to the PATH.
    C:\Program Files\Adobe\PDFiFilter\BIN
NOTE: it must include the BIN folder
NOTE: If you had the OLD location that included spaces, remove it from the path environment variable.
    6. Start SQL Server
    7.  IF you had an existing Full-text index on PDFs, drop the full-text index and recreate it.
    8. You should now get results when you run sys.dm_fts_index_keywords('db','tblname')  --Note: Change db to be the actual database name and tblname to be the actual table name.
Give this a try and see if this fixes yours.
    Sincerely,
    Rob Beene, MSFT

  • Add on for SAP B1 9.0 32 bit is disconnected

    Hi,
I have developed a simple add on for SAP B1 9.0 32 bit. The add on is working fine in development environment. But while working on a Terminal Server client, the add on is getting disconnected after some time. This is happening for all terminal server users. Has anybody else faced a similar issue? Please suggest the possible reason and solution for this problem.
    Regards,
    Victor

    Hi Maik,
    1. The add on is getting connected initially, but is idle and is getting disconnected after some time. The addon is only listening to BOM and production order form events.
    2. I could not look at the client environment myself, but logging was enabled for any unhandled exception and still no log was generated. I am assuming that the application was not crashing. I will put in more information on Monday, when I get access to the client environment.

  • Which path of AddOnInstallAPI_x64.dll for 64 bit of SAP B1 9.0?

    Hi Everybody,
Can u explain which path of AddOnInstallAPI_x64.dll for 64 bit of SAP B1 9.0 Version?
Please share the download path for AddOnInstallAPI_x64.dll for 64 bit of SAP B1 9.0 Version.
When am creating ARD fie for 64 bit of SAP B1 9.0 , By Right Click on the Project Properties-->compile-->Advanced Compile Options-->X64.
Once created ARD file, then i opened "C:\Users\User1\Desktop\ARDFile\ARDname\ARDname\ARDname\AddOnRegDataGenFile"
While double click on the "windows Batch file"(AddOnRegDataGen), it automatically generates ARD file and EXE File.
In ARD file, Edit the ARD file--> Change the Platform "N" to "X". whereas EXE file could not change the 64 bit.
Hence the error shows in SAP b1 "Addon exception or "Incorrect string format".
    Please fix this issue ASAP.
