SAP MII 15.0:HANA as a back-end ! Distributed Architecture

Dear MII Consultants & Architects,
I have a query here regarding SAP MII 15.0 when it is deployed as de-centralized.
Lets say there are 3 Plants. Each plant needs a local MII system.
How a local MII system will interact with HANA if HANA is a central entity?
Will all the local MII installations which have their respective SQL/Oracle do a SLT replication with HANA?
Regards,
Muddassar

There's not just a single way to interact between MII & HANA; there are many options that are available so that we can support the underlying business scenario in the best way.  For options and architectures that support them have a look here:
SAP MII, HANA/ESP and Lumira (Technical)
I also have a technical architectures deck that I can share with you if you like just email me directly for it.
Please let me know what you think of my post about MII & HANA,
Sam

  • Front-end and back-end

    Hi experts,
My client is having an integration with a Warehouse Management System. Obviously, SAP Business One is going to be back-end. Our job is to suck in all the transactions occurred from the front-end system. Here is the requirement and the problem, a Credit Note based on an A/R Invoice. It can be done manually by putting in the BaseEntry, BaseLine and BaseType in the credit note document lines template. Common sense, who the hell is going to do that, not the users.
Data is extracted from WMS system into .txt file(tab delimited). The WMS consultant is refused to generate 3 new columns to indicate BaseEntry, BaseLine and BaseType which are not making any sense as they are front-end system(not accounting). I would like to know how can we(SAP) know the BaseEntry, BaseType and BaseLine during migration?
    Please advice.
    Thank you.
    Regards,
    Lim Tou Lead

    Hi!
Why your front end system doesn't having any link between its AR invoice and Credit Note ?
If its there use that as a tracking mech.
Also, if you planned to go with SAP DTW, you can't get the BaseType,Num... You need to write a SDK import which should extract the details (Baseref, type) with the help of the refrence from front end system

  • Error in /LogoPage.html  after deploying SAP MII 14.0 SP5

    Hi Experts,
    I am using SAP EHP1 for NW 7.3 SP07. Recently I upgraded from SAP MII 14.0 SP04 patch 5 to SP05 patch 2.
After Upgrading I am getting many issues as below:
    1. When opening "http://hostname:port/XMII/" as file "/LogoPage.html" does not exist. When I checked the file its not exist in the server.
    2. When opening web pages I am getting java alert as "The application contains both signed and unsigned code"like that.
    I am using JRE v 1.6.0_21.
Is that problem with the Patch that I deployed or any other issue.
    Please let me know?
    Regards
    G.Partheeban

    Hi Experts,
I tried deploying with SUM,JSPM and telnet but no use. The file is not deployed properly. I guess this is the patch issue.
I copied the Logopage and other file missing. Now the issue "1" is fixed but I am getting the below
    2. When opening web pages I am getting java alert as "The application contains both signed and unsigned code"like that.
    I am using JRE v 1.6.0_21.
I also tried to revert back to SP04 using JSPM with the command "UpdateAll" and "UpdateSameand Lower" version. Can any one please suggest me how to revert back or how to solve the above errors?

We are currently using jre 1.6.31 or versions of 1.7.45.We have already tried few workarounds regarding this with enabling certain Java settings ,but nothing has worked till now. What I feel that this could be some java setting on server system issue or netweaver cache isn't cleared .

  • Sending IDOC from SAP ECC to SAP MII

    Hello,
    Issue while configuring.
I have configured the RFC Destination in the Netweaver message listener and when i check the connection in SM59 I got  error as timeout during allocate of registered program and I have attached the screenshot of the error page.
I would request a reply asap.
    Thanks,
    Praveen

    Hi Praveen,
First, I would suggest that you identify what version, and SP, of MII and ECC.  Also the NW version and SP if applicable.
Second, use this custom Google search and terms MII, IDoc Listener, and perhaps SM59.  There are many discussions on IDoc Listeners going back a number of years.  Many of the issues with IDoc Listeners have not changed in most of that time, so look at the older ones as well.  I presume that you found and are using my How to Send an IDoc from SAP ECC to the SAP MII IDoc Listener (MII 12.1 to ECC 6.0) to set up your Listener?  If not, you should review your configuration and setup procedure against it.
I have not looked at MII 14.0 or 15.0, but understand that the configuration of Listeners really has not changed since MII 12.1.  So the document is still applicable.
Third, roughly 90% of the problems experienced with IDoc Listeners involve multiple uses of the self registering ProgID.  Deleting it in one place, generally does not work.  Use it in one place only.  Create a new ProgID for each separate Listener (either type) on each separate MII instance for each ECC instance.  Save yourself a lot of headaches.  Never, ever reuse ProgIDs!!!
Fourth, most of the other issues involve a PI/XI system in the middle.  Those are a bit more complicated since they rely on getting the connection configuration set up properly in PI.  Since I am not that familiar with PI systems (most times it is not involved with the Listeners), I generally have to get other experts involved.  Sometimes a CSS ticket is required.

  • SAP MII - Inroduction

    Hi Team,
I am new to this MII topic. What is MII? Is MII add-on in R/3 or ECC server?
How to implement MII in our existing R/3 or ECC system?
As a PP consultant, how can i contribute this MII implementation?
    Is MII seperate application server?
    Request for your valuable input.
    Thanks
    psk.

    Hi psk,
Please google SAP MII and review some of the information available.  If you then have specific questions, come back and post them. There is a lot of information available already to review from both SAP and from successful partner implementations.

  • SAP MII & Design Studio

Today SAP MII and SBOP Dashboards can be integrated using the MII Connector. Taken into account the roadmap for Dashboards, are there plans to foresee the integration with Design Studio?
    Thanks.
    Best regards,
        Ann

Excellent question Ann, and this is something that we already have coming as part of our MII 15.0 release via the HANA Smart Data Access (SDA) interface to MII 15.0.
    Sam
PS:  Inside of Lumira today there is already a SQL interface to the MII 14.0 and newer releases.

  • Issue in executing SAPUI5 applications in SAP MII and Eclipse IDE

                   3. i created one SAPUI5 application project.
                   4. i tried to run the sample file, but i am getting error as below
"JSR 356 WebSocket (Java WebSocket 1.0) support is not available when running on Java 6. To suppress this message, run Tomcat on Java 7, remove the WebSocket JARs from $CATALINA_HOME/lib or add the WebSocketJARs to the tomcat.util.scan.DefaultJarScanner.jarsToSkip property in $CATALINA_BASE/conf/catalina.properties. Note that the deprecated Tomcat 7 WebSocket API will be available."
    5. Then i installed JRE 7, even after installing Java 7 i am unable to run the project. it shows sap.ui5 property file missed.
    In SAP MII 14.0:
         1. I just copy and paste the Hello World program from internet into HTML file.
         2. I tried to execute it, but in that i am getting error as " sap undefined error, sap.core.js Script error, etc,.."

  • How to log in to SAP MII by using a custom xApp?

    Hi there,
I'm developing a custom xApp with a context root of /mycustomapp
I use some security contraints for it so the user has to log in to view the xApp.
As I use some MII services the user has to be logged in to SAP MII, too. However, logging in to SAP NetWeaver doesn't automatically sign in the user to SAP MII, too.
    Is it possible at all?
Accessing /mycustomapp leads to a login mask, but the user should be logged in to SAP MII, too.

  • To Retrive Folder List in SAP MII 12.0

Is there any option available in SAP MII 12.0 to retrieve List of Folders Available same as like Folder List Query in 11.5.

    Hello,
try an XML Query with the following URL:
    /XMII/Illuminator?Mode=TransactionFolderList&Server=XacuteConnector&Content-Type=text/xml
Filter the result by its "ParentPath" column to get a list of folders inside a provided parent folder. Make sure that you have increased the default query row count of 100 to get all folders on your system.
Hope this helps - good luck!

  • SAP MII 14.0 - Calling Transactions using SOAP Runner fails

    Hello All,
We are calling transactions in SAP MII 14.0 from external apps using SOAP Runner and we are passing the login info in the payload. But we are getting the following error.
We are passing the following in the payload.
    <xmii:LoginName>Username</xmii:LoginName>
    <xmii:LoginPassword>Password</xmii:LoginPassword>
We are getting 401 unauthorized as the user name and password is not propagated to the MII.
It works if we supply the info explicitly when we invoke the URL.
    Thanks,
    Kiran

    Hello Rajesh,
I don't think that will be allowed. We usually pass the credentials in the payload and it has always worked for us in MII 12.1. But in MII 14.0 it does not seem to be working.
    Thanks,
    Kiran

  • Reading File from a Desktop/ShareFolder in SAP MII 14.0

    Dear Experts,
I have a situation where I want to read a CSV file from a source different than SAP MII server. Basic intention is to read a file from a desktop or some shared folder.
My first doubt is- Is it really possible in SAP MII 14.0 version?
But still I tried doing the same. Used Get File Text Loader action and text loader and provided file path from desktop which gives me an error. Here's the syntax I tried with mask as .csv:
    C://Users/XXX/Desktop
    C:\Users\XXX\Desktop
    C:/Users/XXX/Desktop
Error I get is as follows:
[ERROR] [Get_File_List_0]GetFileList: Access to the file path /C://Users/XXX/Desktop is not allowed
Please advise, if it is really possible in MII 14.0 . If yes, Am I missing any steps?
    Regards

    Hi Kirti
To read/load a file from your desktop you will need to execute some form of client side program like HTML or JS or applets. MII Transactions run on the MII server and would point to the Server's C:/ if the server has such a folder. Usually users do not have access to C drive of servers. Hence you see the error.
You will need to write some program that executes on your desktop and pulls the file from your system and then posts to the server.
    Regards
    Partha

  • Unable to Pass Parameters to I5Grid in SAP MII 14.0 SP05

    Hi Experts,
There was a bug in SAP MII 14.0 SP04  where we were unable to pass parameters to I5Grid dynamically. I understand that this bug has been fixed in SP05 , so we applied following patches:
    Patches installed :
    a)      XMII05P_4-10008694.SCA
    b)      XMII05_0-10008694.SCA
Note details mentioning this issue :
2016927 - I5Grid does not take into account overridden parameters when updateGrid(true) is called
But even after applying these patches, I am still not able to pass parameters to I5Grid dynamically from irpt page.  Does anyone have any insight to it? Is it working for any one of you?
    Regards,
    Kirti

    Hi Chirstian,
I see this change working. I was doing a mistake while passing parameter to I5grid.
    What I was doing-
    Grid.getQueryObject().setParameter(1, linename);
    Correct Way:
    Grid.getQueryObject().setParameter("Param.1", linename);
    Thanks & Regards,
    Kirti
