  • Scope of SAP SD in Retail Industry

    Hi All,
I have just done my SAP SD module and i am interested in knowing the scope of SAP SD in retail industry. Is there any retailing company in India which has implemented SAP or is interested in implementing.
Kindly throw some light on this .
    Rgds
    Subashini

    Hi Subahashini
As far as retail companies are concerned they are more into IS-Retail
which is nothing but Industry solutions for retail
This is similar to SD but more focussed on retail industry needs
    See this link

Most companies use both...to know abt companies you can search in sap service website

  • SAP Biller Direct utility industry based business package

    Hello Experts
Can we use SAP Biller Direct utility industry based business package with Finance module???
points will be given to right answers
    regards
    srinivas

    Yes
Biller Direct is aimed to be linked to the FSCM suite.
There are two views of Biller Direct, B2C and B2B.
B2C is used where customers deal with consumers, an example would be the utility industry. The Consumers can pay online their bills and view their account, update master records and so on.
The B2B is where there is a fuller customer master, normally you have less customers, but the customers have more line items. There again is the possibility to make payments here, however this is unlikely. They can however review their account, and raise disputes, print off copy invoices.
All of this functionality is delivered via JAVA and it is pretty standard, however the area that takes the longest time is setting up the users.

  • SAP implementation in food industry

    Hi all
Does anybody has implementaion experience in food industry..
    specially wafers industry.....
Coz i wud like to know more abt excise..here for purchasing excise duty has to be paid to vendor ,and this excise duty is loaded on basic price during MIRO
Where as they dont avail the credit
Can anybody share their different experience in food industry .....
This can be helpful for others also those who are implementing SAP in food industry
    regds
    shail

    Hi,
This type of functinality can be Map through using Inventorised  excise  duty.
In this tax procedure is if TAXINN.
then you have to make tax code using FTXP.
In which you will maintain  Condition records for those  condition types which are of inventory type rather than set off.
    Like for BED - JMIP.
                ECS-JEIP
and then two other conditions  JMX2 and JEP2.
hope this is clear if any doubt please ask.

  • SAP implemenation in Casting Industry

    Hi,
We are doing implementation for Casting Industry.
There are many stages in the process.
    1) Core Manufactruing
    2) Moulding
    3) Motlen Metal
    4) Casting-Pouring
    5) Shot Blasting stage 1
    6) Fettling
    7) Re-shotblasting
    8) Painting
    9) Packing
Can any one guide me for following.
    1) We should go for 9 Material codes.
    or
    2) Two matrial codes one before Pouring and second after pouring of metal
    or
    3) Any one has experience in Casting plant implementation.
There are approx 30 products each are manufactured everyday & with above 9 stages we are landing to 270 Production order a day. It will be very hactic activity for Releaseing, confirming , etc to the client.
Any one has good experience or expertise, please advice.
    Regards,
    Manish

    Manish,
    1) We should go for 9 Material codes.
Probably not, but only your client can tell you.  Does he need to store inventory at any/all of the intermediate stages of production?  Does he have reporting requirements about the valuation of the material(s) at various stages of production?  What is the amount of time it takes to process something from RM stock to FG stock? How much commonality is there between the various components of the 30 FGs? Will any of the levels (from RM to  FGs) be manufactured as MTO or MTS? Are there any quality inspection/sampling requirements at intermediate stages? What kind of material traceability will be required?  You must get these and other important answers during your investigation phase of the project, before you can even begin to make a recommendation to your client.
    2) Two material codes one before Pouring and second after pouring of metal
Maybe.  Or, maybe even only one material number (just the FGs) from the beginning to end.  Your client will decide when you give him the options.
There are approx 30 products each are manufactured everyday & with above 9 stages we are landing to 270 Production order a day. It will be very hectic activity for Releasing, confirming , etc to the client.
I guess this calculation is based on the '9-intermediate-materials-per-FGs' scenario.  This may or may not be acceptable, only your client can answer.  I have worked in environments where 1,000 production orders per day was acceptable, and also in environments where 30 orders a day was unacceptable.
As a side note, just because you manufacture something every day does not mean you must have an order every day.  You can enter a production order for a quantity that equals 10 days worth of manufacturing capacity, and the system is just as happy as it would be if the order only consumed 1 day's capacity or 1 hour's capacity.  The shop floor people just keep working on the longer orders until they are done.  The size of the production or process or planned order is dependent again upon the client and his business requirements.
Many of the above decisions will have to be made in concert with requirements from functional areas other than PP.  Usually during an implementation, all the functional areas will work together to come up with the solution(s) that best fit the client's requirements.
I have never worked in casting.  However, SAP does have a Best Practice for Fabricated Metals that may be helpful.  Here is the Building block library

  • SAP in the Legal Industry

I am looking for case studies of where SAP Core, and/or HANA have been used in the legal industry. Can anyone point me to case studies?

I agree this printer is the worst they ever made but I have 5 HP printers and the other 4 have been super.  I'm still using an old 750 all in one that I bought when it came out.  I'm probably jinxing myself, but I have never had a single problem with it.  My husband uses a cheap little old Officejet 4125 all in one, ($69) in his office and it just works great.  I think he's had it about 4 years and just works it constantly.
I bought this J6480 primarily for the scanner and double side printing.  I had a new computer and my old all in one printer wouldn't load on it.  The J6480 was not a cheap printer and I wish I had sent it back when I first began having trouble with it, (which was day one).    First it wouldn't install and I finally had to download the software.  I wasted half a day doing that.  But then after I got it set up, the print quality was terrible to non-existent.  I figured the cartridges were possibly dried out, so went and bought some new ones.  They were good only on the "best" setting, and only lasted for 5-10 pages and then it was like the ink had just run out.  That's pretty much been the story ever since.  I have spent a fortune on cartridges trying to make this thing useable and it's just not going to happen.  I use it now and then for printing "junk" stuff where quality doesn't matter, and as a scanner to save stuff to my computer, but really, as a printer, it's virtually useless.  I"m ready to pitch it.

  • SAP Implementation in cement industry

    Hi,
This is my second implementation in cement vertical. In earlier implementation I went with repetitive with QM.Please can you justify which will be the best suitable for cement ,REM or PP-PI.with reasons.
    Regards,
    Manoj

    Hi Manoj,
Better go for Repetitive Manufacturing. If customer required according to the various order go for Discrete.
Work centre consider as a line . Each cement grade must have separate BOM and routing. Accordingly must create materials.
Also, Refer this[ Very IMP Link !|http://www.sap.com/community/showdetail.epx?ItemID=14566]

  • How to Map SAP B1  for retail industry

    hi every one,
we r going to implement SAP B1 for a retail company which trades on shoes and bags. they have one Head office and 12 ware houses they simply buy finished goods from vendors and pack in their in house and sell it to customers. no production , MRP , how we can map it into SAP B1. iam thinking of using citixsys  Retail Add one is it possible ?  any other solutions?
    regards,
    rajan

If they have store fronts (actual physical retail stores) then you will need the CitiXsys Addon.  Otherwise, you can handle this out of the box in B1.

  • SAP FI Scope in industry??

    Hi all,
i hav done diploma in mech. presently working as an accountant in a Firm, well known about Tally and working on the same, i want to do SAP so which SAP module vil suite me? if i do SAP FI means shal i get job easily in india as wel as abroad spl: GULF? plz suggest me on this

    Dear,
Whenever there are statutory changes which compel us make changes in SAP. Please follow the best recommended practice, which is to create a New Tax Code so that consistency is maintained. If you make changes to the existing tax code then it might cause trouble while processing old documents.
Please create new tax code, I know it might feel you tedious but will give you great relief in future processing.
    Regards,
    Chintan Joshi.
