SAP mobile client and Creme

Can SAP Mobile Client work with any Java Runtime Environment except Creme ??

Hi,
NO, SAP Mobile Client only is tested and supported to work with NSICOM Creme only.
There is no other java VM supported by SAP for windows mobile.

• Where install MI client and Creme on WM5.0

Hi
Where should be installed MI client and Creme on WM 5.0 for best performance.
There are three option: Device , Application, Cache Disk
Thanks for any advice!
Michal

Hi ptako,
For PDA there are two kinds of memory Cache and Device.
I dont think we can mannually choose the application memory.
and Cache memory is handled by OS.
we have control over Device memory, so install ur MI client & JVM there only.
NB: in settings you can manage the space allocated for application memory, by adjusting the slide in Settings->Memory.

Hi,
We have this answer in many other threads..
Mobile infrastructure (MI 2.5 / MI 7.0) is the older release of mobile. The latest version of mobile is NW Mobile 7.1 which comes with a total architectural change, provides better scalability and has advantages in many other areas like better modeling, monitoring options , faster device synchronization time etc.
Netweaver mobile constitutes of server (DOE) and a default client framework (Netweaver mobile client) .
Mobile application could be created using NetweaverDeveloper Studio(NWDS) that will present the data required by the mobile device user.
This mobile application once deployed on a device will work on the local persistency and during synchronization with DOE sends the modified/new data to Backend via DOE.
Customers can also develop a custom client framework and application that still talks to DOE (and inturn to backend)
NW mobile 7.1 could be used to build mobile applications suiting offline and onlines scenarios.
In few words to mobilize enterprise solutions
SAP R/3 will act as backend
---talks to DOE through remote enabled BAPI Wrappers ---
NW mobile will be middleware that does the data orchestration
Upon Synchronization of mobile device with DOE using a messaging protocol over http(s)
Receivers could be devices with client application installed / another server.

• SAP Mobile Documents and Citrix NetScaler

Hi all,
we're aiming to implement a secure Mobile Documents server that is protected from the Internet via a solution in the DMZ. We are eschewing a reverse proxy and are going for a Citrix NetScaler instead. Has anyone tried this combination before and if yes do you have any recommendations? I'm grateful for any tips in this direction.
Best regards,
Daniel

Hello Daniel,
Happy to hear you are going to implement Mobile Documents. There are for sure certain advantages Citrix NetScaler brings. Below I am not going to argue against or pro this product.
Beside the bunch of features you may enable to secure and monitor the traffic and prevent attacks, let me enumerate some you may want to pay attention to.
- Content Streaming. A domain where some proxy come short due to the fact that not only do not support streaming but use also the main memory for caching.
- URL rewriting. If you get problems here you can configure the URL rewriting directly in Mobile documents
- Compressing. If this already happens on the NetWeaver stack, make sure you don't do it twice.
- Security protections. We already have protections in place against SQL injection and cross-site scripting (XSS) attacks for example, make sure that you don't kill the response times by throwing everything at hand.
- Authentication. If no VPN is configured or a second factor is used for the authentication, make a trust between the systems to avoid double authentication.
Good Luck and please share your experience.

• 7.1 Trial: Error during installation of Mindb and Mobile Client

We are using a barcode scanner running on Windows Mobile 5.0. When I use the SP03 trial to install the mobile client, I get the following information for every application besides the CreMe (the error is shown on the barcode scanner):
The program you have installed may not display properly because it was designed for a previous version of Windows Mobile Software.
How is this possible and what does this mean? These applications state that they are supported on Windows Mobile 5.0.
I continue anyway but when I try to start the Mobile Client I get a pop-up stating Creme is starting, then running, then nothing. I read it can take up to 2 minutes to load the client so I gave it 10 minutes with no result.
I have uninstalled and reinstalled multiple times (everything, Creme, mindb, mobile client) and it doesn't work. I am using Active Sync 4.5.
Any help is greatly appreciated.

Thanks for the quick reply. It is a Creme error. I tried the licensed version from SAP first, then tried the 30 day copy and neither works. They both have the same errors.

• Telephone numbers (officePhone and homePhone) are missing in a contact card in a Lync Server 2013-based Lync mobile client

In my opinion, the error has not completely fixed in KB2967628. After I install the latest November 2014 cumulative
update. I see the following behavior. User A searches for user B. User B never sign in to the Link. There are three fields in the active directory for User B: officePhone, mobilePhone and homePhone (these fields contain different numbers). When searching on
the mobile client (Android/IOS) for user B – as result user A see only mobile number. If User B At least once will go to Link (sign in) when his search will work, (find officePhone). If User B will change, the privacy settings for user A is in the search will
be displayed homePhone field.
On the Desktop client,
I can find all the fields without those actions performed in the example. If I make a request
to the service UCWA manually like this (below
the text) before
actions, which I performed in example, I did not receive officePhone and homePhone – only mobilePhone field.
GET "https://lync.domainname:443/ucwa/oauth/v1/applications/XXXX/people/search?query=$usename$&limit=200" -H "Content-Type: application/json" -H "Accept: application/json" -H "Authorization: $USENAMETOKEN$"

Hi,
Based on your description, I’m sorry I’m a little confused about the following you mentioned. I understand the issue is we can only see the mobile number in the contact card on Lync mobile client and that we can search for users based on their office number,
we can see the home phone field in the contact card but there isn’t number showing. I anything I have misunderstood, please feel free to let us know.
“When searching on the mobile client (Android/IOS) for user B – as result user A see only mobile number. If User B At least once will go to Link (sign in) when his search will work, (find officePhone). If User B will
change, the privacy settings for user A is in the search will be displayed homePhone field.”
According to the KB29677628, this issue is caused by UCWA only sending the work number, and we need to install the update for web components server

• Advices required for a JAWT implementation for Windows Mobile 5 and 6

Hi,
I want to create a jni bridge in order to open a player in a java Frame. This player works fine in a mobile native application.
I want to know if somebody tried already to create such a bridge keeping in mind that this is for mobile environment. If yes, is there some specific problems which I should be aware of?
Specifically I have 2 problems.
1. My jni getHWND method always return 0.

Any advice will be very helpful.

Hello Brian,
the client technology is based on web dynpro, but it runs in an own Mobile Client. Therefore you do not need the internet browser for the application.
During the client development you can use the web dynpro tools to design the layout and the screen flow of your application. In the last step you can deploy the application to your mobile client and run it without a browser.
The mobile client includes a web dynpro runtime to display the data. Therefore you do not need a J2EE server in order to run an application.
The mobile occasionally connected scenario provides a api to access the local database. NetWeaver Mobile 7.1 for PDA supports two different databases:
1. MinDB ( from SAP, included no additionals license fee required )
2. DB2E
NetWeaver Mobile includes a complete queing mechanism.
You can also take a look into two eLearnings which provide a good technical overview:
Link: [Architecture and Runtime|https://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/sdn/go/portal/prtroot/docs/library/uuid/e048e20c-7246-2a10-e8a5-8b2b78b5b994]

Unfortunetly there is no fixed timeline for WM6.But I guess this will be available soon.
I'm afraid but also don't know of any fixed timeline regarding Adobe Interactive forms.
The architecture of NetWeaver Mobile 7.1 is pretty new and full of great new functionalites. The User Interface for NetWeaver Mobile 7.1 uses eSWT to render the UI elements.

• What's the relation between mobile components and device profile?

We get the requirement to assigne Mobile components to device profiles.
As a comparison for understanding,
R/3: authorization is assigned to user profiles
MI: Mobile components are assigned to device profile.
Am I right? If so, are mobile components basically predefined by SAP since
security authorizations are basically provided by SAP?
Thanks!

Hello jennifer,
A Mobile Component is any part of Software which will be deployed and wich is running on a mobile device.
This could be for example a Database, JVM, Mobile Client or of course a mobile application (developed or pre-packaged).
A Device Profile is a kind of grouping mechanism which helps you to assign the Mobile Components to a large number of devices.
For Example you create a Device Profile which includes the Mobile Components (DB,JVM, Mobile Client and your Mobile application ). You only need to create this Device Profile once and you can assign it do many devices.
This helps you to administer your devices in a very efficient way.
I hope this helps.
Best Regards,
Stefan

• How to send to mobile client complaints

I'm trying to get complaints created on-line CRM5.0 to flow down to the mobile client and the field sales person that handles the BP. Do I need to create a subscription? Where in the Consumer pcakge goods application can I see these?
Thanks
Robert

I'm referring to the Mobile application Consumer package goods in CRM 5.0 SP 05. And I'm referring to complaints in the Sales area transactions.
Apparently SAP changed the functionality now where the Business object handling complaints is MSV_CMP_WRITE and not SALESDOCGEN_O_W in CRM 4.0.
The next thing is we are only sending to the laptop BPs by Territory, so the replication object for compalints don't allow to link to BP's. It seems we can only send one BP if you create the subscription for that BP. This is not good since we would have to create and support 23,000 for eac BP.
Hope this anserws the questions.

• Vendor number for ADRMAS and CREMAS

Dear all
i am creating vendors in SAP using ADRMAS and CREMAS and sending both of them in a serialized manner. For ADRMAS to be linked with CREMAS, we need to provide same vendor number.
i can get the next vendor number using the BAPI_VENDOR_GETINTNUMBER.
I have different mappings for CREMAS and ADRMAS, so each time i get a different internal number for vendors. how do i link my idocs using the same vendor number?
Regards
Monika

Hi,
cremas and adrmas are coming form one source message right ?
a) yes - then you can put the one ID (any) into both and get the genarated number later on on the basis of this ID in the receiver system while posting the idoc
b) no - then they must have a different reference number inside already which you can post to SAP (in any special field - like search filed for example) - and get the correct number in the receiver system while posting idoc

• Which network ip address will my mobile clients receive

Hi folks
I have an AP in my production site which has a vlan configured as native vlan and the ssid related to this vlan is being used for communication with other wireless bridges. The BVI interface of this AP is ofcourse having an IP of the native vlan.
Now I have a requirement of configuring this AP with mobile clients and these mobile clients should get IP addresses from the DHCP server. The IP address that these mobile clients should recieve is from a network which is different from that of the native vlan.
I know that I can define this new vlan in the APs as wellas everywhere in the network aswell as create a SSID binded to this VLAN, But I had this doubt in my mind if the client will really take the IP of the VLAN which I want or it will try to get an IP address of the VLAN to which the BVI interface belongs i.e. the native vlan.
Note:- The Client will be associated to the AP through the desired VLAN and not through the SSID of the native vlan.
I wanted to have your expert opinion before rolling this out in production.
Thanks

Given that you are using one DHCP server with multiple scopes
AND
Given that your multiple VLANs & SSIDs trunk (802.1q) to a router to different subnets (each of which would need an "IP Helper" on the client-side interface)
Then the DHCP server should recognize which scope to deliver based on the VLAN that the request is received from.
Good Luck

I have few questions.
1.Is their any other online training courses available on sap mobile platform ?
2.Open Sap will soon start any training courses on sap mobile platform ?
Thanks in advance sorry for bad english

The architecture you given uses Odata exposed from NW gateway and SMP will be an online data proxy. Relay server can be used for more security. To know how to develop android apps in this architecture follow this,SyBooks Online
Other types of applications that you can develop using SMP include Object API based (as Jitendra mentioned, Developing SAP Android Mobile app from scratch), HWC apps (HWC mobile app development for dummies), apps using third party frameworks (http://infocenter.sybase.com/help/topic/com.sybase.infocenter.dc01942.0230/doc/pdf/smp_tutorial_hybrid_app_package_devel…) and rest apis (http://infocenter.sybase.com/help/topic/com.sybase.infocenter.dc01926.0230/doc/pdf/smp_devguide_rest_api_applications.pd…).
