Sap Mobile platform Tutorialst

Hello,
I need to consume the sap backend in android, this can be possible by using the "SAP Mobile Platform and SAPR3<>NetWeaverGateway<>SUP-ODP<>RelayServer<>Device".I already registered with the open sap, i have done  the self study for the course SAP mobile Solution Development for Enterprise,so now i got some information on it i need to learn it very depth.
I have few questions.
1.Is their any other online training  courses available on sap mobile platform ?
2.Open Sap will soon start any training courses on sap mobile platform ?
Thanks in advance sorry for bad english
Regards,
Navaneeth prodhutur

The architecture you given uses Odata exposed from NW gateway and SMP will be an online data proxy. Relay server can be used for more security. To know how to develop android apps in this architecture follow this,SyBooks Online
Other types of applications that you can develop using SMP include Object API based (as Jitendra mentioned, Developing SAP Android Mobile app from scratch), HWC apps (HWC mobile app development for dummies), apps using third party frameworks (http://infocenter.sybase.com/help/topic/com.sybase.infocenter.dc01942.0230/doc/pdf/smp_tutorial_hybrid_app_package_devel…) and rest apis (http://infocenter.sybase.com/help/topic/com.sybase.infocenter.dc01926.0230/doc/pdf/smp_devguide_rest_api_applications.pd…).

  • Problem trying to download SAP Mobile Platform SDK - Developer Edition

    Dear All,
when i try to go on:
    SAP Mobile Platform Developer Center
    and I click on:
Download SAP Mobile Platform SDK - Developer Edition
The system is returning to me:
    Forbidden
You don't have permission to access /sap/cp/ui/resources/store/html/SolutionDetails.html on this server.
    What I have to do?
    Thanks

This download link is related to SAP Store and I guess there is some issue with SAP Store now. (store.sap.com) .
Anyways the link might provide access to only SDK of SMP 3.0 , but to develop mobile applications on SMP both the Runtime and SDK are to be installed and only SDK is available to public.
If you have a valid S-User credentials you can download SMP from SAP Service Marketplace - Home
    Softwares Donloads -->  A-Z Index --> M -->SAP mobile Platform -- ? choose the version you are looking at (2.1 / 2.2 /2.3 )
SMP 3.0 is still in Rampup only available to limited registered partners
Which version of SMP you are looking to download?

  • Clarification on SAP Mobile Platform 3.0

    Dear SAP Mobility Experts,
Hope you are doing great, and I am seeking your help here.
We are just to start a new project for one of our customer on SMP3.0 and Mobiliser5.1. During the preparation phase of my project I was just going through some of the literature to propose the correct system landscape architecture to the customer and have found some challenges, I am hoping you guys will be able to clarify them to me.
These challenges are basically due to the SAP Note# 1901408 - SAP Mobile Platform 3.0 Limitations, I am sure SAP must have resolved some of these challenges, can you please point me to the correction notes if available of just confirm them to me.
Relay Server is not supported; only reverse proxy is currently supported: Can I utilize any reverse proxy including the physical one which comes from Cisco & Citrix, or only apache based proxies are supported.
Clustering and high availability are not supported: My Customer is looking forward to have active HA is this still not supported?
Also as per my understanding of the platform 3.0 we can have the Mobiliser component as an add-on on the same server, is my understanding correct, if so then as far as I am aware Mobiliser is supported only on the Linux platform, has the same been extended to the windows or I need to install the platform itself on the Linux platform.
    Thanks for your support.
    Best Regards,
    Vishal Jain

    Dear Midhun,
Thanks for your quick and informative response..
Can you please also let me know about SAP Mobiliser Platform 5.1. Do we need to install it separately or it's integrated with SMP 3.0.
if its needs to be installed separately than please let me know weather its strictly should be on Linux or it can be on Windows as well.
    Best Regards,
    Vishal Jain

  • SAP MOBILE PLATFORM move DB

    Hi,
I want to know if is possible to move a DB from default path to another.
    I tried with:
    C:\Sybase\UnwiredPlatform\Servers\SQLAnywhere12\BIN64>dbunload -c
    "UID=*****;PWD=*****;DBF=C:\Sybase\UnwiredPlatform\Servers\UnwiredServer\data\default.db;DBN=default" -ar E:\
    but don't work.
    anyone can help me?
    thanks.

Are you developing the same application on Native and Hybrid to compare it ?
Choosing the development approach depends upon the business scenario trying to mobilise.
For native - it is required to develop for independent platforms and might be individual developers . huge development cost , time , and best performance.
    Android : Core Java
    IOS: Objective C
    BB: Java
    Windows : C#
    for Hybrid:  HTML5 + CSS + JS + frame work API . ( framework can be any - UI5/ Jquery / Sencha...)
less in performance , time .
works on all the major platforms supporting the browser.
The table in Hybrid vs. Native vs. Mobile web comparison chart might help you
but at the end of the day , choosing the approach depends on the business process which is to be mobilized.

  • SAP Mobile Platform 3 compatibility with windows server 2012

    Dear All,
As per SAP release notes Window Server 2012 is compatible with SMP 3.0 but after installation i see that the SMP3 Services are always into the hung state meaning they neither start nor stop. They are always in the starting state. Whereas it runs fine with Windows Server 2008 R2. When we force kill all the process running with SMP3 Service we can stop it but it doesn't start at all.
Has anyone faced this issue till now.
    Thanks

    Hi Rakshit,
I guess Eric Solberg, Mustafa Saglam can answer better.

  • SAP Moble Platform 3.0 with Agentry 7.0 application configuration

    Hi,
we try to migrate from SMP 2.3 to SMP 3.0.
We installed the MobilePlatform3 as development server and the SDK 3.0 SP04 PL01.
After that we import the 2.3 project in the new eclips with the agentry  editor plugin for 7.0.3. We checked if all transmit configurations are set to WebSockets over HTTPS as connect type.
After that we create a application for Agnetry Apps in the management cockpit and found the agentry.ini in this directory: "SMPHome Directory/\Server\configuration\com.sap.mobile.platform.server.agentry.application. We publish the agentry app to this agentry.ini and see the BACK END configuration in the management cockpit. As authentication we use "no authentication challenge".
Afte restart the SMP server we see in the logs no errors. In the agentry server log we see that the application was loaded. We test the agentry server in the browser with this adress https://{servername}:8081/{sub-url} prüfen and get the "I am here!" message
Now we try to connect from the ATE (version 7.0.3.605)(installed on the same server like the smp) to the agentry server with this adress:"{servername}:8081" and get this error:
    Unexpected disconnection from server (11)
    Connection failed
    Ending transmission
if we try only the server without the port we get this message:
    Requesting Public Key from Server
    The printer queue is full.
    Communications error (14)
    Connection failed
    Ending transmission
We check the smp3 server logs and the agentyr logs but nothing is in. We set the log level to debug but nothing.
We dont know where we could search for the error. What can we do or where is the error in our configuration.
    Thanks,
    André

  • Mobile Platform Developer Center Missing Space Editors

SAP Mobile Platform Developer Center seems to have lost its Space Editors and I don't think I was the only Moderator.  Can one of the Global Moderators take a look at it and let me know?
If this is indeed correct, I would suggest that Jan-Gerrit Groeneveld   and/or I be added as Space Editor or we return the previous SEs to their roles.  I can recruit a couple of additional Moderators for the space.
    Thanks, Mike

  • Clarification on SAP's mobility platform

    Good day, everyone!
I'm just new to SAP and I'm hoping someone can help clarify. I'm struggling how best to position SAP (Web) Console against ITS / ITSMobile.
I understand that until SAP Gui 6.4, SAP Console is shipped with SAP Gui. And after that the installation can be done separately. Now, what I can't figure out is that after 6.4 is SAP Console still part of SAP Gui or does it now packaged with SAP Mobile infrastructure.
Also, I have a notion that SAP Console may be used along side ITS (either standalone or integrated). Is this correct? Or does ITS/ ITSMobile offers an alternative to SAP Console.
Also if you can point me where I can get architecture diagrams for SAP (Web) Console, I believe that will help further clarify. I was able to view a lot of information for ITS so I'm somewhat familiar with the architecture for it.
Thanks and I'm looking forward to everyone's inputs!

    Hi Allan,
SAP NetWeaver Mobile comprises three mobile client technologies to enable standardized mobile business solutions as well as customer-specific developments. These clients are optimized for specific user roles and target devices.
    1. Mobile Java client, requires Mobile Infrastructure as a middlware system u2013 Optimized for personal digital assisted (PDA) or handheld devices that display offline (or so called occasionally connected) applications, such as mobile asset management
    2. Mobile .NET client, utilises its own CRM middlware system u2013 Designed for Microsoft Windows-based devices that display occasionally connected CRM field applications with a rich function set targeting laptops
    3. Mobile browser client, also known as SAP webConsole u2013 Designed for mobile devices that are always connected to a Web server using a technology such as WAP, wireless LAN, Bluetooth, and GPRS. Commonly used for warehouse applications
They are not alternative but rather complimentary to each as they target different areas. Architecturally they are very different.

  • SAP Mobile Technologies

    Hi Experts,
Can U explain SAP Mobile technologies in detail & the concept of 'Mass Data Replication'.

SAP provides solutions for mobile business which leverage the performance potential of the mySAP Business Suite. Employees can access solutions wherever and whenever they need to. Moreover, existing solutions have become accessible to new user groups. SAP’s solutions for mobile business are designed to run in either an always connected or in occasionally connected mode.
SAP NetWeaver Mobile enables mobile solutions to run business logic in offline mode and
synchronize data with the enterprise backend system, when the mobile device is connected.
Not every business process can be moved to the mobile device and meet the requirements of the customer’s mobile user environment, connectivity, and device hardware. In particular, customers must consider performance, data volume, security, and user acceptance in the blueprint phase of mobile projects.
SAP NetWeaver Mobile is integrated into SAP NetWeaver and comprises three mobile client technologies to enable standardized mobile business solutions, as well as customer-specific developments optimized for user roles and target devices.
SAP NetWeaver Mobile has three different client technologies that are used.
    Mobile Java Client
Optimized for PDA or handheld-based occasionally connected applications with a lean function set and small footprint, such as Mobile Asset Management (MAM). The Mobile Java Client can also run on a Win32 platform with an installed Java Runtime Environment.
    Mobile Browser Client
This technology focuses on online technology, where a browser of a mobile device is always connected to a Web server. It is based on technologies such as WAP, Wireless LAN, Bluetooth, GPRS, and so on. Mobile Sales Online is an example of an application that is based on this technology.
Mobile .Net Client for mySAP CRM
This client technology is designed and optimized for Microsoft Windows-based, occasionally connected CRM field applications running on mobile devices with a large footprint, such as notebooks.

  • Fiori with other SAP Mobile Products

    Hi Guys
I just want to get views, feedback, customer implementation experience on the following points, I am interested in finding out everyones ideas on the following:
    1. How can we use Fiori with SMP
    2. What are the benefits of using Fiori with SMP
    3. How can we use Fiori with Afaria
    4. What are the benefits of Fiori with Afaria
    5. How can we use Fiori with Mocana
    6. What are the benefits of Fiori with Mocana
    7. Do u have examples, ideas of customer experience using SAPUI5 with SMP
    Any ideas, views greatly appreciated.
    Thanks
    Andrew

    Hi Andrew :
I run the developer program at Mocana & wanted to answer questions 5 & 6.
There are three key benefits of using Fiori with Mocana's Atlas platform. You can refer here for more information on Atlas (Mocana Atlas Platform Is What Enterprise Mobile App Security Should Be)
    1. Mocana provides a simple SDK that allows to consolidate multiple login screens (VPN, MDM, Fiori) into a single 'in-app' login. In addition to the simple login experience, the SDK allows the app to take advantage of 2 factor cert based authentication. The user, when logging into the app for the first time, is guided through a simple enrollment mechanism that combines AD credentials & a PIN.
    2. On top of the simple enrollment & login experience, Atlas integration also enables the application to maintain long persistent session / connectivity to the SAP backend. While the IT manager controls the session length, it is our experience that, by virtue of the secure gateway capabilities, they are comfortable to keep those sessions up for a long period. The user experience is they do not need to login often.
    3. After implementing (1) & (2), the developer can secure the app with policies from SAP Mobile App Protection by Mocana. The policies vary from copy/paste protection to data at rest encryption to per application VPN.
The combined feature set above will help deliver a truly exceptional mobile experience for Fiori apps with minimal development effort. Note that this works for apps that are wrapped with Cordova as well as native apps.
Let me know if you have questions/clarifications

  • Install ZMOB SAP mobility solution

    Hi Experts,
I want to install ZMOB open source software for converting ALV to mobile application.
It has nugget file , I want to know how can we install nugget file.
Link to download is : https://bitbucket.org/zmob/sap/downloads
Please let me know steps to install SLNK and NUGG files.
Also is there any tutorial for ZMOB which can help step by step creation of mobile app.
    Thanks.
    Regards,
    Sanjana

    Hello Sanjana,
There are quite a few non-SAP mobile options - it's worth searching the SCN forums for information on possible approaches..
Regarding security in zMob, a white-list is configured by the administrator (table zmob_permissions) and contains a list of reports that can be accessed via zMob. One or more non-dialog users are created and used to communicate between the mobile devices and the SAP system (over a secure VPN connection.) The configuration defines which reports are accessible by which user account/device.
Alternatively, a single non-dialog user can be configured on multiple devices and treated as a usergroup within the white-list. Different device-names can then be configured on each device, which can be used to differentiate users SAP side. This is explained in more detail on the Microbe wiki Home -  microbe -  Introduction, installation, config and running.. -  Mobile microblogging platform for SAP but is quite an advanced topic.
If you already have a standard SAP report working which has basic input, then it should be straight forward to convert the report to use the zMob approach. It's simply a case of replacing the parameter definitions to use zMob types, tweaking the output to take advantage of the zMob mobile output features, testing within the SAPGUI, then configuring and testing from the emulator and finally the device.
    Warm regards,
    Jack

  • Cannot retrieve business partners in SAP mobile iPad

    Hello Colleagues,
since some days I'm not able to retrieve business partners in my SAP mobile App.
Neither in iPad nor in iPhone.
I tried it on 2 different test servers.
A couple of day's before I saw all the business partners.
The only change I did in the last days was executing the steps regarding the Java JRE that was recommended by SAP Note 1582526.
In the Message-Log I've found the following:
The SQL-Exception with the ErrorCode 242 points to a conversion error from the given Date-String to a DateTime Value.
The Date-String is automatically inserted by the (whatever) system, it is the current date.
Is there a possibility to change the DateTime Format so the query can pass thru and I can see the business-partners?
    Thank you in advance
    Rudy.

    Problem solved
After setting the language of the sql server "sa" from german to english, everything works fine.
I don't know why this problem occurred. I never changed the language before...
    Cheers
    Rudy

  • Print a report from SAP Mobile

    Hi,
I want to print a report (not a screen shot) from iPad (SAP Mobile/SAP BI), but there is no option there for printing.  I don't think this feature is available in the current SAP Mobile (6.1.11).  Can anyone have a way to work around it?  Can SAP add this feature as an enhancement in the future releases?
        Thanks.
                    James

    Hi,
The feature is not available in Mobile BI App. You can search an existing idea and vote up or post a fresh at IDEA Place SAP BusinessObjects Mobile: Ideas.
Would be helpful if you provide the following details
    - What is the business use case
    - How many users would be using this feature
    - What content types you are expecting to print
    - How should the printed report look like - mobile view, web view, pdf view
    - Primary used device - IOS/Android
