SAP Monitoring - check

Dear Specialists,
I need to make a list for customer with everything that is monitored on their SAP systems.
I managed to get it on OS Level, oracle monitoring, tablespaces, processes, FS, and so on.
But how can I check what is being monitored on SAP level ?

Hi,
I believe that your question is how to monitoring SAP systems.
A good point to start is the RZ20. You do find there a lot of MTEs to monitor the SAP and also the Operating System.

Access /sap/monitoring/SystemInfo to HTTPs fails.

I have CRM (abap+java ), and I have configured the access HTTPs to ICM
of CRM. If I connect to my j2ee page: https://sapcc1ci.correos.es:1443
works successfully, and all links (User Management, SQL Trace, etc..)
except System Information work successfully.
My link on the J2EE page to 'System Information' points
to /sap/monitoring/SystemInfo
(https://sapcc1ci.correos.es:1443/sap/monitoring/SystemInfo) fails with
error HTTP 404 - file not found. But if I access to HTTP
(http://sapcc1ci.correos.es:50000/sap/monitoring/SystemInfo) works
successfully.

I have generated the certificate, with the steps of http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw04/helpdata/en/db/1f1740198d8f5ce10000000a155106/frameset.htm, and the type selected is "SAP J2EE Server". I have exported a key or certificate entry to the file system export.csr (attached) and then imported a CSR response im.crt.
I have restarted the icm, anf If I try to connect URL: https://sapcc1ci.correos.es:1443/ the system reports the message Detail: Cannot reach external Application Server on 10.88.130.222:50001

I'm assigned by my boss to create SAP daily check (Critical section)
Need your suggestion what to check
I already put DB13, DB14, ST02, ST03
but I need in detail, for example.. on ST02 the program buffer should not > 10.000
My friend said I have to put the log file in OS system also, but I don't know what log and where is the path?
and what to check inside the log?
Also, my boss concern about free space, he told me to aware about the free space.
So, what filesystem should I check everyday? /oracle/SID/oraarch, /usr/sap/trans? and??

Hi Rosa,
Tcode sm12 used for lock management .With this you are able to determine which locks are being used currently.You can detect and correct problems by deleting locks that you no longer want. You can also later analyze the cause of lock table overflows using the History .
In tcode sm12 you can see which type the lock object is with the help of Lock mode.Where S: shared lock, E: exclusive lock, X: exclusive and not cumulative, O: optimistic lock. Again from Table name column you are able to know in which row of the table are locked.From Lock argument column you are able to see the argument (key field) of the lock entry.
Lock entry with Blue color means that the locks have already been transferred to the update task (see also The Owner Concept), with the result that the backup flag is set. These locks are also rewritten to the lock table when the enqueue server is restarted.Black means that the lock (still) belongs to the dialog owner. The backup flag is not set.By double-clicking a lock entry, you can display detailed information, including the host name and number of the SAP System in which the lock was generated.Rosa remember never delete a lock when you are unsure and/or don't know what is this lock for.If you delete a lock without proper justification may be it generate an inconsistence.Locks are put on table and / or table entries when a process needs exclusive access to this DB table and/or record. Removing this lock could let for example another process to change the same data while the process is still running thus generating inconsistence.
Always try to match a lock with a process in SM66, a background Job in SM37, a DB session, in ST04 / detailed analysis / sessions or a user logged in with AL08/SM04.
If you have identified from where does the lock come, then first try to kill the job, then the related process, then kick the user out (best would be to ask him what is he doing) and finally the DB session.
Usually one of this action will remove the lock cleanly.If it is not the case, deleting a lock in SM12 would be the very last option.
The ABAP Dumps will occur with respective of the problem.If you got the error. check the error name and serach in.

Few of the most frequently occuring dumps are :
1) TIME_OUT : this happens due to longer dialog execution time for a user compared to the parameter settings. We can ask the user to run the report in batch jobs instead of dialog. we can ask the user to reduce the search criteria if he is using one.
2) RAISE_EXCEPTION : This is due to error in exception handling of the abap program. If its a customer report we can ask the developer to modify code or if its a sap report we can raise issue with sap
3) DBIF_SQL_ERROR: this happens due to various problems with database.
suppose user is trying to write duplicate entries to the tables then it occurs, if there is problem with the datafile then also it occurs. you have to read the details of the error.
4) TSV_NEW_PAGE_ALLOCATION_FAILED: Error due to not enough extended memory to run the report. This happens during high memory usage time, We can ask the user to run the report during less load and also to reduce the input criteria which will in turn reduce the processing memory required for the internal table.
or we need to increase the extended memory parameters.
5) MEMORY_NO_MORE_PAGING: happens due to not enough space in paging area. Can be solved by increasing the paging file parameter value.
6) LOAD_PROGRAM_ERROR: this error happens if during runtime any of the repository objects are changed by means of transport. We can ask the user to rerun the program.

Monitoring "check aborted jobs" not possible - Logical component issue?

Hy Experts,
we are facing a problem setting up system monitoring in our Solution Manger system.
We want to check if a specified job is finished sucessfully - if it is aborted we want to receive a mail.
In another system the monitoring as described is fully functional.
In this scenario we are facing a problem:
Error Text:
The logical components SAP NW REDWOOD CRONACLE and Z_SYS_MONI have different products
Message no. SOLAR170
Diagnosis
This component change can prevent the processes and scenarios which you have copied from the BPR into the "Structure" tab, in transaction SOLAR01, from running in the assigned system, or assigned transactions, IMG activities, etc. may not exist in these systems. For example, transactions or IMG assignments copied into the previous product context do not yet exist in the project.
If the same systems are assigned to the new and old logical components, the change is not critical.
System Response
The system sends a warning and accepts the change, but no data is automatically converted or adjusted.
Procedure
If you are unsure whether your assignments will still be in the component systems after the component change, perform the function "Environment - Refresh Buffer" in the transaction SOLAR01. Errors in this program are objects which do not exist in the system.
Actual product of the logical component "Z_SYS_MONI" is ECC5.0.
The other (working) is using the logical component "SAP NETWEAVER APPLICATION SERV" instead of the above used "SAP NW REDWOOD CRONACLE "
How can this error be fixed OR
How to monitor jobs with logical component ecc5.0?
Any help will be rewarded!!!

Detailed Info:
The working solution is assigned to ECC 6.0 AND to SAP Netweaver 7.0 (2004s).
The selection in business process repository - it-platform - monitoring is assigned to SAP Netweaver 7.0. - but we have ECC5.0 - even if I create the system/logical component new under Netweaver 2004 (6.40) it won't work
It seems not to be possible.
But how to monitor a job in ECC5.0 - think it is possible.
Any ideas?

SM66- process executing on every application Servers, batch jobs in SAP
ST03N- for workload monitor.
ST06- OS monitor
SMLG- SAP logon load balancing
SSAA- System admin checking
RZ20 -CCMS
for XI
SXMB_MONI- IE monitoring
SXI_MONITOR- monitoring for processed XML messages
for message in adapter we have adapter log in RWB.
to monitor the users logged on entire system module wise use ST07 or use sm04

1) For OS level monitoring we normally check
a) CPU utilization : Which can also be found in ST06 in SAPGUI
b) MEmory utilization : Which can also be found in ST06 in SAPGUI
on Unix you need to have top utility installed to monitor CPU and RAM in similar format like you see under windows task manager.
Once the utility is installed you simply run top to view the results.
2) To check SAP running process you may use below command
     a) dpmon pf=<path of instance profile>
     b) ps -eaf | grep sidadm ( to check all the processes running under sidadm)
     c) ps -eaf | grep ora ( to check all the oracle running processes)
     d) ps -eaf | grep SID ( to check all the processes running for SID)
3) kill -9 <processid> is being used to kill any zombie process on Unix
4) R3trans -d is using to check connectivity of SAP application with database
5) sar : command to check system utilization
6) vmstat : command to check virtual memory utilization
7) vi : editor to modify files in unix
8) cp: command to copy files
9) rm: delete files on Unix
10) mv:rename files on Unix.
Above are most commonly used commands. Based on your actual requirement list may vary.

SAP Script Check printing Layout, Line Items to display twice in First Page

Hi All,
This requirement is for US check printing Layout.
My Requirement is to display Items twice on the first page.
Eg : Main Window has 10 Items, I need to display all the Items at the bottom in another window at the bottom.
I can't create 2 Main windows in the first page, as the data from the Main window 1 overflows to Main window 2 in the first page.
I copied print program RFFOUS_C into a Z-version and try to implement the logic, however unable to print the line items in the bottom window.

I had the same request for a check form in Canada. I solved it by writing the line item output into variables and print these variables in a second window. It was ~10 hours of effort, not a real nice technical solution but it worked.
