SAP NetWeaver 04s SP7 installation and DHCP server
Hi All,
I am installing SAP NetWeaver on a machine which I use at work. I am little scared whether this installation might harm my computer or the local corporate network. This machine is connected to the local network (uses DHCP) to get the IP address.
Are there any precautions which I need to take before I start practicing on this platform ?
I read this below point in the installation instructions...
=========================================================
If no DHCP server is available on your network (which dynamically determines the IP address) or your computer is not connected to any network, you need to install the virtual interface adapter MS Loopback Adapter. This is described in detail within the contents of the download package.
=========================================================
Now as my computer is using DHCP (unknown location), if I install SAP NetWeaver 04s SP7, do I need to disconnect my comp from the Network and then install the MS loopback adapter ? or Its ok to ignore the DHCP option as my comp is already using DHCP ?
Thanks and Best Regards
Ayub.
Hi Ayub,
U dont need to disconnect ur computer from network. Just install a microsoft loopback adapter and assign it a static ip, and assign that ip and hostname on windows\etc\hosts file. it will installs on loopback adapter and ur local network connection will be as it is.
hope it will help u.

VC usage for SAP NetWeaver 04s SP7
Hello All,
I have successfully installed SAP NetWeaver SneakPreview 04s SP7.
And would to use the functionality of VC.
Any suggestion how to proceed on this.
Regards
AjayYou have to call the url http://localhost:50000/VC/default.jsp
prior to this you have to install the Adobe SVG viewer which is a free download from Adobe webpage.
You have to establish a connection to a BI system, if you want to access BI functionality.
This BI system could be a system in the SLD of your local net environment. It has to be installed properly in the SLD.
Without access to any system its not very enjoing to test the VC.
Anyway have joy -
SAP NetWeaver 04s SP7 Java Version And SAP NetWeaver 04s ABAP Version
Hello,
I would like to ask if anyone has installed both Java and ABAP version on PC/Notebook.
What did you install first and why?
When installing the second of the two, did you need to turn off or detete any part of first installation?
Any advice on the installation of both versions on one PC would be appriciated.
Thank You,
Spiro.Hi. I have installed NW04s ABAP stack and the NW04 Java stack(slim edition) on my laptop. I installed ABAP first, then the java stack. I did do it the other way around, but the ABAP stack would not load successfully, so remember ABAP first, then java. No, did not turn off or delete anything from the abap installation.

The installation give me the following error:
FSL-00001 System call failed. Error 267 (The directory name is invalid.
) in execution of system call 'GetTempFileName' with parameter (E:/), line (328) in file (synxcfsmnt.cpp).Hello,
I have been experiencing the same problem exactly for the last 2 days.
If you did not find any solution yet, here is the solution that worked for me perfectly.
if you are installing from your hard drive, check your cd/dvd drive if there is any cd or dvd in there, if so remove it and re-install the central instance.
YOUR CD/DVD DRIVE SHOULD BE EMPTY, all the way your installation
It should work.

Helpfiles for "SAP NetWeaver 04s ABAP"
Hallo to all.
First of all I have to thank to all people that help me during the installation of "SAP NetWeaver 04s ABAP".
I'm now able to develop ABAP Applications at home.
But Ive also a new problem which I couldnt solve yet.
when I'm try the F1 - Help no help files appear. I only get the message: "There are no help files available".
I've looked the whole SAP "NetWeaver 04s ABAP" .rar File for the help files but I did not found them.
Are in this version no help files? Or is there a possibility to download the files and integrate them to "SAP NetWeaver 04s ABAP".
If someone has an idea, please post it.
Best regards

Im using FlashGet to download the software.
I can see from the errors that Part 2 requires a download, what about part 1?
Is the following error related to part 1:-

Hi Experts ,
Can anyone tell me the difference between SAP NetWeaver Gateway 2.0 and SAP NetWeaver Gateway productivity accelerator for Microsoft ?
Best Regards,
SKSAP Netweaver Gateway 2.0 is a product for Exposing ERP data as OData for external consumption which is independent of any Microsoft product. Using this you can model OData services and Expose them for light weight consumption. You can use this in use cases where you just want to consume the OData in some client or so, and you do not want any kind of accelerators to help you in development or in your integration.
GWPAM is an interoperability framework from SAP that leverages SAP NetWeaver Gateway and Microsoft technologies enabling customers and partners to easily and quickly compose solutions that consume and extend SAP throughout Microsoft technologies for on premise and on demand deployment. With GWPAM you get components like
GWPAM Visual Studio Add-On,GWPAM Template,GWPAM Project,GWPAM Outlook Add-In which are very much Microsoft specific. -

SAP NetWeaver 2004 & 2004s Trials and Previews on Windows Platform
Has anybody installed "SAP NetWeaver 2004 & 2004s Trials and Previews on Windows Platform" which is in the downloads section.
It says it supports Windows2000, & Windows XP also, but when I tried to install it on Windows XP says "prerequisite conditions not met. you need windows 2003Server or worktation etc" message. Even then I tried continuing installtion but it failed.
Also, did anyone try installing it on Windows Vista? Any luck?
Thanks,

SAP Netweaver 7.0 installation - serious issue (startsap db n4sadm)
Hi,
We are trying to setup SAP Netweaver 7.0 (Test Drive x-86 edition) on Fedora 12. We have successfully ran the "install.sh" file. The DB2 instance gets installed and we are able to start it as 'db2n4s' user using the 'db2start' command (we could as well stop using db2stop).
But, we are facing issues when we start the db2 instance as prescribed by the SAP Netweaver installation guide for the following command.
