SAP NetWeaver Composition Environment 7.1 Trial Version On Windows VISTA ?

My system meets all the other requirements, except that I have vista on my laptop. Has any1 tried installing SAP NetWeaver Composition Environment 7.1 Trial Version on vista before...??? Is it possible???

CE trial version does not support vista .. Vista version is suppose to get release in 2008. Following is the system requirement mentioned in the document
Windows XP Professional (Service Pack 2) or Windows 2003 Server (Service Pack 1)
The J2EE Preview has also been tested successfully with Windows 2000 (SP3) and Windows XP (SP1), but is certified only for the two Windows versions above
(Note: If you use a Windows XP account without a password , SAP Management Console can not start/stop your instance via Web Service - use system services instead)
NTFS file system
Internet Explorer 6.0 or higher or Firefox 1.0 or higher
At least 1, 5 GB RAM, 2 GB are recommended
1.5 GHz PC or higher
7 GB free hard disk space
Monitor 1024x768 pixels or more, 256 colors
Internet Access (for CE online documentation)
If no DHCP server is available on your network (which dynamically determines the IP address) or your computer is not connected to any network, you need to install the virtual interface adapter MS Loopback Adapter.

SAP NW CE 7.1 comes with SAP JDK 5, so you don't need to have any JDK installed in advance.
The JCE Policy Files can be downloaded from [http://java.sun.com/javase/downloads/index_jdk5.jsp] --> Other Downloads at the bottom of the page.

How to deploy BI on EHP1 for SAP NetWeaver Composition Environment 7.1

Hello Gurus,
i have installed SAP NetWeaver 7.01 SR1 SP3 ABAP Trial Version at home on vista 32 bits.
it's running well...
next i have installed EHP1 for SAP NetWeaver Composition Environment 7.1 - Preview Version
and follow this guide :

after i follow this documentation to create some cubes on BI abap trail (client 001).

i create my report with the query designer,
and i see my bi report with transaction RSRT and ABAP WEB tab ( http://localhost:80000)
it's running well....whaooouuu !!!!
Now i'm lost, i would like to deploy my bi report on the portal, but i don't know what i must do.
( and when i try with the query designer or rsrt + java web i have a error message )
- perhaps create an user communication between portal/bi abap where ?
- how to deploy bi java on portal (EHP1 for SAP NetWeaver Composition Environment 7.1)
by the way, i can't find the bi post install template in the configuration wizard on the the portal...

SAP NetWeaver Composition Environment 7.1 - SR3 fails to start

I have just installed SAP NetWeaver Composition Environment 7.1 - SR3. When I start the server, it fails to start with the following message -

From what I can make out, it is failing to compile the JdkDetect_6068.java file and hence the server is failing to start. If someone has come across the same issue and know the solution please do let me know.

Hi,
Funnily enough I downloaded this last night. I had no problems at all leaving it running for about 4 hours and it downloaded all in one go. I use a piece of software called GetRight to manage my downloads as it supports resuming and has a few other useful features. There is a free trial version you could try to see if it helps in this case.
Do you have any other possible issues with your connection that may be causing your problems?

all of them mention WinXP SP2 or higher or Windows Server 2003,
however, have any of you tried to install this on Windows Vista?
I'd like to know if it works in Vista or if I'll need to install another OS

The SAP NetWeaver Composition Environment 7.1 SR5 - Trial Version page (link posted above)
mentions the following:
"Try out SAP NetWeaver Composition Environment Trial Version! Develop, model, and design Java
and composite applications with the powerful, Eclipse 3.3 -based SAP NetWeaver Developer Studio
and the composition tools of SAP NetWeaver CE. Deploy, run, and manage those applications on
a solid and scalable Java EE 5 infrastructure. This package contains all you need to work with
the composition and Java tools of SAP NetWeaver, including: ... ..."
AFAIK it will not work on vista 64-bit because this would require to use Eclipse 3.4.
I suppose if you have a 32-bit environment then you may use it with vista.

Also does this Environment has J2EE Engine ?
I am not worried about presence of NWDI in this Environment ! But please let me whether it is avaiable or not ?

SAP NetWeaver 2004s Java Trial Version on Windows Vista

Hello everyone,
I have been trying to install SAP NetWeaver 2004s Java Trial Version for three days now on Windows Vista Ultimate. Since Microsoft has a new security infrastructure implemented in Windows Vista, it is not that easy to install SAP NetWeaver 2004s Java Trial Version. Windows Vista has some sort of User-account security. In summary, in Windows Vista, you are logged in as an administrator, but when it comes to change system files or do registry entries, you or respectivly third party programs (e.g. SAP NetWeaver 2004s Java Trial Version installer) has no rights to do things like registry entries. There is a possibility to rightclick on the setup.bat file and start it in administrative mode, but that doesn't change a thing.
I hope you guys get my problem.

Windows Vista isn't on the support matrix of SAP Netweaver 2004s!
you may play arround with regedit and chaning the security settings of SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\DPS key. SAPinst is doing a KEY_ALL_ACCESS when enumerating the services registry.
Starting with Vista some registry values have special protection which do not allow administrators to open them with KEY_ALL_ACCESS.

I have checked regedt32 and found the entry 'HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\BlackICE' which is having detail (Default) REG_SZ (Value not set). When I double click on (Default) it says "Can not edit: Error reading the value's content"

In Services, "BlackICE" service is "Started" and Statup Type is "Automatic" and Logon As "Local System".
I have Microsoft Windows XP Professional Version 2002 Service Pack 2 and 3 GB RAM. I am using user which is part of "Administrator" group.
Can someone help what could be the issue and how I can resolve it so that can complete the Installation.

Your SAP NetWeaver 7.0 ABAP evaluation license is valid for 90 days BUT, you can install a new license for valid for more 90 days.
I've using SAP NetWeaver 7.0 ABAP for more then a year and I renewed my license 3 times.
To install a new (Renew) license see my answer in this thread where is saplicense.exe file?.

My installation ends with message: The installatin of SAP NetWeaver CE 7.1 is finished, but some serious errors occured during the install.
