VC is supposed to allow employees with limited technical skills created web based applications which can then be used in the portal. You do need some technical knowledge but it is more easier than developing code.

Instead of using Adobe SVG Viewer we need to use Adobe flex so where can i find

Hi Jasmine,
You can use VC only if you have SVG viewer installed, that is one of the prerequisite. SVG Viewer is used for design. When you deploy your model you have an option to view it either in HTML (Web Dynpro) or Flex (Adobe Flex).

SAP NetWeaver Visual Composer Storyboard Error

Hi all,
currently i new in Business Intelligence area..
when i try to create new model in Visual Composer. i just popup this error message
"Login Error
com.sap.ds.core.project.Project.deleteResour(Ljava/lang/String;)V"
after that when i try to delete the previous created new model, and it popup this error message.
"Failed to delete MyModels/12.mdl. Model is locked by Administrator."
wonder anyone could help me out?

When someone else opens this model, or accidentally you have opened this in any of your window this could be locked.
You can check with your administrator who is using this

currently i new in Business Intelligence area..

When someone else opens this model, or accidentally you have opened this in any of your window this could be locked.
You can check with your administrator who is using this

How to use Google Maps by Visual Composer?

Hi all,
I'm creating some simple applications by Visual Composer in which I wanna use a Google Maps in VC,
and i have now successfully got to the STREET, POSTL_CODE, CITY and COUNTRY came from the BAPI.
(i am trying to use the Bapi_Customer_Getdetail2.)
but,i didn't get how to connect Table View and Html View.
I have already checked the below links. but i fail to understand how to do it.

Some thread are say that create the URL fields. like the below messages.
The STREET, POSTL_CODE, CITY and COUNTRY come from your BAPI. The other variables url* are default values to create the URL that is requiered for walweb.

BPM TOOL, what is Visual Composer Vs any other BPM Tool

Could you please share information regarding using a modeling tool to author business process [as-is/to-be]
ours is new implemantation and we already own sap business suite software, and our implementation /configuration Team is considering of using a bpm tool to do capture the processes.
my question is what leverage can we take of Visual Composer ? when compared with other BPM Tool.

If you have license for SAP Suite, then there is lot of things you can leverage with VC than it being useless if otherwise.
1. You can combine the output from the quick design and code free modeling environment of Visual Composer with the output from a full coding environment like Web Dynpro ABAP or BSP? Actually you can do just such a thing thanks to Portal Eventing. You can trigger event from VC. Yes, you can combine ABAP and VC
2. You can extend Visual Composer through Web Services
3. You can do an MDM integration in VC - combining data from varied sources
4. You can build a Web Services Based Visual Composer Application. Visual Composer has the capability to easily link to and consume a web service from within the SAP NetWeaver Visual Composer storyboard.
Also, if you are using BSP, these applications can be linked into a Visual Composer application. The linking is done via portal eventing. Linking these two technologies into a single application with receiving and parsing the Visual Composer event string from within ABAP.
5. SAP has released 300+ Enterprise Services and there are many ways to consume these. A BPX can use Visual Composer and the Composite Application Framework (CAF) to consume SAP Enterprise Services using MDD - Model drived development.
6. SAP NetWeaver Visual Composer users can develop rich graphical interfaces that extend current investments in their SAP NetWeaver infrastructure by using Flex technology (colloboration with Macromdeia) , and businesses can gain credible, clear and comprehensive business insights through new analytics solutions. There are 100+ IS specific Analytic Applications.
With the new improvements in VC 7.0 it is very clear that the future benefits align and will be much more leveraged with Visual composer

Difference between SAP ECC IDES 6.0 and SAP NetWeaver?

Hello everyone!
I am a bit confused since I am also new to SAP world, so I would to ask you, we have a SAP IDES ECC 6.0 in our server here to our company, I was trying to see a little of SAPUI5 and in a tutorial a guy was using SAP NetWeaver Visual Composer.
1- But, what's the difference between the SAP IDES ECC 6.0 and SAP NetWeaver?
2- What are the other parts I am missing? Are there any other IDES or such a thing around those terms?
3- How can I get installed SAP NetWeaver?
4- I have also got some info about SAP ERP, SAP CRM, SAP MM, SAP BW.. And those?
5- What are they in term of software/patch/ide/plugin/addon... ?
Please, I really need an overview in order to make all the things clear in my mind,

Hi Denis,
SAP is a big umbrella where lot of products are developed and made to use in various industry solution like Engineering, Chemical, Retail, Oil & Gas. I used the term Solution to relate SAP application to these solutions.
SAP NW is comprised of following components SAP_BASIS, SAP_ABA, PI_BASIS and SAP_BW. In totality we refer this as NW stack.
SAP application will have underlying database like Oracle, DB2, MSSQL or MaxDB where actual business data is stored.

I new in Visual Composer.
I read the "How ToWork with Variables in SAP NetWeaver Visual Composer", but I have a problem with the drop-down list. I following step by step the solution, using the dynamic list but when I run the model I find the drop-down empty.
Someone works with drop-down list with dynamic list?
How do I configure the assigned value in output and input port?

did you check your data service, if it works (you can do this at design time).
I suggest you to write an own RFC for getting the key and text of the infoobject.
You can write one RFC which will work for all infoobjects.

I have been searched for the document about SAP NetWeaver Visual Composer. Mostly they are about IT scenario and features. We heard that it is highly-graphic supported, code-free and provide modeling for business logic. But we are looking for clear ideas about what is the business scenario it can be applied and what s the best circumstance to recommend business users use visual composer. Can anyone provide us documents or idea about it?

Hi Szu-Fen,
as you already mentioned, VC is designed for code-free applications. These applications normally consume data from different sources and visualize this information in an "easy to understand" manner. They are called management cockpits. An example for such a management cockpit can be found here:

Visual Composer Guidelines

I'm trying to educate myself about VC and need some help.
We're in the process of doing a technical uprgade from SAP 4.7 to NW ECC 6.
Initially, we will NOT be implementing Portals and my understanding is that Portals can only run in a NW Java stack.
Also, VC is part of the Portals component and there it can ONLY run in a java server.
Are these statements correct?
Also, could anyone please point me to some good guide lines for implementing Visual Composer and especially guildelines for VC naming conventions.
Any specific SAP class you recommend for learning VC?
I have ordered the SAP NetWeaver Visual Composer book from SAP Press.
Any useful information and links will be greatly appreciated.
