SAP Note: 1127156 Result set is too large

Hi,
The note 1127156 explains how to resolve the issue with removing the message "Result Set is too large." I want to check the settings in the template and it gives the following steps but i cannot find the settings on the Analysis web item of the data provider.
Can someone pls help.
Query View
The following steps describe how to change the "safety belt" for Query Views:
1. Use the context menu Properties / Data Provider in a BEx Web Application to maintain the "safety belt" for a Query View.
2. Choose the register "Size Restriction for Result Sets".
3. Choose an entry from the dropdown box to specify the maximum number of cells for the result set.
               The following values are available:
     Maximum Number
     Default Number
     Custom-Defined Number
               Behind "Maximum Number" and "Default Number" you can find the current numbers defined in the customizing table RSADMIN (see below).
4. Save the Query View and use it in another Web Template.
Many thanks

Hi,
I was facing the same issue in BEx analyzer 7.0. The query was working fine in BW 3.5 analyzer but gave error in BEx 7.0.
When executed in web, it gave error result set is too large.
The maximum no of cells that can be displayed is 750000.
Please check the result set returned by the query. Also check note Note 1040454 - Front-end memory requirement of the BEx Analyzer.
Some enhancement are planned to be delivered in enhancement package 1.

  • Query Error Information: Result set is too large; data retrieval ......

    Hi Experts,
    I got one problem with my query information. when Im executing my report and drill my info in my navigation panel, Instead of a table with values the message "Result set is too large; data retrieval restricted by configuration" appears. I already applied "Note 1127156 - Safety belt: Result set is too large". I imported Support Package 13 for SAP NetWeaver 7. 0 BI Java (BIIBC13_0.SCA / BIBASES13_0.SCA / BIWEBAPP13_0.SCA) and executed the program SAP_RSADMIN_MAINTAIN (in transaction SE38), with the object and the value like Note 1127156 says... but the problem still appears....
    what Should I be missing ??????  How can I fix this issue ????
    Thank you very much for helping me out..... (Any help would be rewarded)

    You may ask your basis guy to increase ESM buffer (rsdb/esm/buffersize_kb). Did you check the systems memory?
    Did you try to check the error dump using ST22 - Runtime error analysis?

  • Result set is too large; data retrieval restricted by configuration

    Hi,
    While executing query for a given period, 'Result set is too large; data retrieval restricted by configuration' message is getting displayed. I had searched in SDN and I had referred the following link:
    http://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/scn/index?rid=/library/uuid/d047e1a1-ad5d-2c10-5cb1-f4ff99fc63c4&overridelayout=true
    Steps followed:
    1) Transaction Code SE38
    2) In the program field, entered the report name SAP_RSADMIN_MAINTAIN and Executed.
    3) For OBJECT, entered the following parameters: BICS_DA_RESULT_SET_LIMIT_MAX
    4) For VALUE, entered the value for the size of the result set, and then executed the program:
    After the said steps, the below message is displayed:
    OLD SETTING:
    OBJECT =                                VALUE =
    UPDATE failed because there is no record
    OBJECT = BICS_DA_RESULT_SET_LIMIT_MAX
    Similar message is displayed for Object: BICS_DA_RESULT_SET_LIMIT_DEF.
    Please let me know as to how to proceed on this.
    Thanks in advance.

    Thanks for the reply!
    The objects are not available in the RSADMIN table.

  • WAD : Result set is too large; data retrieval restricted by configuration

    Hi All,
    When trying to execute the web template by giving less restiction we are getting the below error :
    Result set is too large; data retrieval restricted by configuration
    Result set too large (758992 cells); data retrieval restricted by configuration (maximum = 500000 cells)
    But when we try to increase the number of restictions it is giving output. For example if we give fiscal period, company code ann Brand we are able to get output. But if we give fical period alone it it throwing the above error.
    Note : We are in SP18.
    Whether do we need to change some setting in configuration? If we yes where do we need to change or what else we need to do to remove this error
    Regards
    Karthik

    Hi Karthik,
    the standard setting for web templates is to display a maximum amount of 50.000 cells. The less you restrict your query the more data will be displayed in the report. If you want to display more than 50.000 cells the template will not be executed correctly.
    In general it is advisable to restrict the query as much as possible. The more data you display the worse your performance will be. If you have to display more data and you execute the query from query designer or if you use the standard template you can individually set the maximum amount of cells. This is described over  [here|Re: Bex Web 7.0 cells overflow].
    However I do not know if (and how) you can set the maximum amount of cells differently as a default setting for your template. This should be possible somehow I think, if you find a solution for this please let us know.

  • Essbase Error:Set is too large to be processed. Set size exceeds 2^64 tuple

    Hi,
    we are using obiee 11.1.1.6 version with essbase 9.3.3 as a data source . when I try to run a report in obiee, I am getting the below error :
    State: HY000. Code: 10058. [NQODBC] [SQL_STATE: HY000] [nQSError: 10058] A general error has occurred. [nQSError: 43113] Message returned from OBIS. [nQSError: 43119] Query Failed: [nQSError: 96002] Essbase Error: Internal error: Set is too large to be processed. Set size exceeds 2^64 tuples (HY000)
    but if I run the same query in excel add in, I am just getting 20 records . wondering why I am getting this error in obiee . Does any one encountered the same issue ?
    Thanks In advance,

    Well if you want to export in I think you have to manually do it.
    The workaround it to open your aperture library by right clicking it and show contents...
    Then go into your project right click show contents...
    In here there are sub folders on dates that the pictures were added to those projects. If you open the sub folder and search for your pictures name it should be in that main folder.
    You can just copy it out as you would any normal file to any other location.
    Voila you have manually exported out your file.
    There is a very similar post that has been close but again you can't export the original file that you are working on - FYI http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?threadID=2075419

  • Olap cache not storing result sets for certain queries

    Hi - another cache question
    my result set for a query is not getting set in OLAP CACHE - the query variable level is stored ok but not the result set.
    different queries store the result sets ok.
    there is nothing in the query or cube properties that should disable the caching of the result set.
    there is plenty of space available and there has not been any changes to the query or data loaded or aggregates changed.
    any ideas?
    cheers - Neil

    I would do a performance check in RSRT2.  This will usually give you some additional information related to olap cache.
    Hope that helps.

  • Stored function not returning result set unless recompiled

    Hi,
    I have a strange situation going on with a basic Java (1.6.0.17) application talking to an Oracle 11g (11.2.0.1.0) database. Basically what is happening is that sometimes a stored function's return value (a result set) is not making it as far as JDBC/Java, unless I recompile the stored function (with absolutely no changes to the application or function's code). I am always able to successfully see the result set if I call the function directly from within SQL Developer, just not on the Java app/JDBC side.
    I've tried running with 3 different physical Oracle 11g servers and tried running the app on a couple of machines. I'm wondering if this is either some kind of caching issue or perhaps a JDBC bug/misconfiguration.
    Any help would be greatly appreciated. Attached to this message:
    1. stored function code
    2. snippet of Java app code
    3. ODBC trace output when returned a empty result set (ie failure scenario)
    4. ODBC trace out when returned the correct result set (ie success scenario)

  • Trying to send vid clip results in "file too large". Yet friends can send me clips larger. Why is this?

    I cannot send video clips I have taken to friends.  I get "File too large". Yet friends seem to be able to send ME larger clips from their phones.
    Do they have some app or something that zips or compresses files automatically?

    Try reproducing the issue in Windows safe mode with Networking.... I think the guess of a synchronization issue was correct. I just think the blame finger went to the wrong place. Windows safe mode should confirm my guess... Or prove me wrong
    Note that i can move messages in imap to live from junk to inbox and they are not corrupt.

  • Need help with SQL Query (query for certain IDs in a table and then IDs not in result set)

    OK. This is hard to explain but that may be my problem in constructing the query.
    I have a table that has a list of jobs. The jobs information in this table, among other things, is a short description of the job itself (think "title" in phrase form), date, and ID.
    So I can query the table to get all the jobs for a particular grouping of IDs (the only ones I am interested in) that ran successfully for a given time period. But what I want are all the jobs that did not succeed (or therefore are not present in the table) for this group of jobs and for a certain date range. But these are not the only job id's in the table.
    To get the successful ones I do the following:
    SELECT id,short_desc FROM my_table where
                id IN('1230', '1231', '1232', '1239', '1244', '1245',
                '1246', '1247', '1248', '1272', '1280', '1281', '1282',
                '1283', '1284', '1285', '1286', '1249', '1250', '1251',
                '1252', '1253', '1255', '1233', '1234', '1235', '1236',
                '1237', '1238', '1256', '1257','1258', '1254', '1290','1310')
                AND the_date > = SYSDATE - 23/24
                AND to_char(the_date, 'DD-MON-YYYY') = TO_CHAR(CURRENT_DATE, 'DD-MON-YYYY')
    I have tried to use another AND clause with NOT IN and the group or NOT EXISTS but that doesn't work as there are other jobs captured in this table with id's of course. I am only concerned with these id's:
    IN('1230', '1231', '1232', '1239', '1244', '1245',
                '1246', '1247', '1248', '1272', '1280', '1281', '1282',
                '1283', '1284', '1285', '1286', '1249', '1250', '1251',
                '1252', '1253', '1255', '1233', '1234', '1235', '1236',
                '1237', '1238', '1256', '1257','1258', '1254', '1290','1310')
    Someone said to use a temp table. I don't think I have permission and I haven't tried as I want to do this in one query if possible.
    After thinking about this I am at a loss. I tried to do this in the front end but it just became too messy.

    You do not need a physical temp table. You need an in-line view:
    WITH list as (
                  SELECT '1230' id FROM DUAL UNION ALL
                  SELECT '1231' FROM DUAL UNION ALL
                  SELECT '1232' FROM DUAL UNION ALL
                  SELECT '1239' FROM DUAL UNION ALL
                  SELECT '1244' FROM DUAL UNION ALL
                  SELECT '1245' FROM DUAL UNION ALL
                  SELECT '1246' FROM DUAL UNION ALL
                  SELECT '1247' FROM DUAL UNION ALL
                  SELECT '1248' FROM DUAL UNION ALL
                  SELECT '1272' FROM DUAL UNION ALL
                  SELECT '1280' FROM DUAL UNION ALL
                  SELECT '1281' FROM DUAL UNION ALL
                  SELECT '1282' FROM DUAL UNION ALL

  • Please, Not getting result set from callable statement (Code posted)

    I am posting some simple code which should get a ResultSet from a CallableStatement object using the executeQuery() Method.
    It is returning "No RsultSet was produced"
    If I modify the code and simply output the CallableableStatement using its executeUpdate() then getString() methods it works fine. Anything obviously wrong with this bit of code? Thanks.

    cs.registerOutParameter(1, java.sql.Types.VARCHAR);
    cs.setInt(2,intID);
    /*These lines work on their own
    *cs.executeUpdate();
    *out.println("Name is : " + cs.getString(1));
    //this code is what is not working...hmm
    rs = cs.executeQuery();
    while(rs.next()){
    out.println(rs.getString("name"));
    rs.close();
    cs.close();
    //the rest of this works too.
    ConnectionFactory.releaseConnection(con);
    catch(SQLException e){
    out.println(e.getMessage());
    Here's the stored procedure. I'm just trying to do a simple test to return multiple rows. The table has numberous records with the same id which is being passed to the function.
    create or replace function test1 ( strInputID IN testtable.id%type)
    return varchar2
    is
    strOutputName testtable.name%type;
    found_it EXCEPTION;
    begin
    select name into strOutputName from testtable
    where id = strInputID;
    raise found_it;
    exception
    when no_data_found
    then
    return null;
    when found_it
    then
    return strOutputName;
    end;

    I've posted the code...it's doing a select. I think the problem is that to return multiple rows I need to return a cursor. But I've run into problems with both the MS and Oracle Drivers.
    All I really want to do is to query a database using a callable statement(function in oracle) which will return multiple rows which I can process. I have been trying to do this in a servlet.
    I can do it successfully for one column from one row, but not multiple columns from mulitple rows.
    I've been searchging for some good examples and am trying different things but can't seem to get it to work.

  • Error message: Translation result in VEB too large

    Our local currency is ANG (Antillean Guilder). As a subsidary of a Venezuelan Company the system has been configured to perform an automatic translation in the background to VEB. You do not notice this process, untill you receive the error message stated in the title, because the digits of the calculated VEB amount exceed the maximum length of the field.
    How to enlarge the field in order to avoid this error?

    I have managed to resolve this problem by deactivating the Special Ledger in question.

  • User function result value was too large

    OH sorry, it is me again.
    apart from creating the index for the oracle text,
    i tried to do simple select statement for the searching in the shredded XML view table.
    select CTITLE, ETITLE, ID, CCAPTITLE, ECAPTITLE, CAP_ID
    from ORD_VIEW
    where ENGLISH_CONTENT LIKE 'marrige';
    the ENGLISH_CONTENT contains the law documents.
    and i have about 800 of XML documents (1 CTITLE for 1 document),
    each document has a number of CCAPTITLE tables.
    i know it is very large to obtain,
    then what can i do to deal with this?
    i want to use the score(1) to rank them.
    but without the index for this view table, how can i do that?

  • Result set too large in BI report; Safety belt settings in WAD

    Hello All,
    When we run a BI report, the error " Result set is too large; data retrieval restricted by configuration" appears. We did a search on SAP portal and found the SAP note 1127156, whics recommends the configuaration of safety belt to limit memory used.
    Acoordingly the cust table RSADMIN has been configured. But on the web template side, we need to configure the changes as well. The note says:
    Maximum Number
    Default Number
    Custom-Defined Number
    Behind "Maximum Number" and "Default Number" you can find the current numbers defined in the customizing table RSADMIN (see below).
    4. Save the Query View and use it in another Web Template."
    I am trying to locate these options in the context menu in Web Applications designer but in vain.
    Can anyone help...

    This option is not available in WAD, it will be available when you run the web template under settings, Data Provider for the standard template 0ANALYSIS_PATTERN.
    If you have a custom template you will have to use the Dataprovider settings web item in your custom template to change the values during runtime.
