I am trying to install the sap NW BC.
When I try to log on in the system, the following message is displayed:
The following error text was processed in the system LAP
: No administration role defined for cockpit "BSO". Searched for both "SAP_DAL_ADMIN_BSO" and "Z_DAL_ADMIN_BSO"
The termination type was: RABAX_STATE
I made a new rol with the pfcg transaction called SAP_DAL_ADMIN_BSO
Any one can help me? Do you have how I can create a new cockpit?

1) When I create the role for the service, the system shows a message "role is not in the customer namespace"
How can define the role in the namespace?

Hi Armin,
For NWBC you must place transactions under the second folder down (or at least this is how its works for NWBC for ERP roles). Standard NWBC roles have 'Role menu' as top folder and then (generally) one main folder under that - like 'Purchasing'. Transactions should go under this folder or under subsequent sub-folder.
There are additional parameters using right click 'Details for Net Weaver Business Client' under PFCG also - but assume your documentation has explained this to you.

SAP NWBC 3.5 - Easy-Access Favorites

Hello,
i am currently testing the NWBC 3.5 Client.
I read about the "Easy Access Favorites in Favorites Menu" option of the NWBC.
I found this under settings->personalization->SAP Easy-Access Menü (first three checkboxes, but unfortunately they are greyed out)
We have currently installed EHP2, does we need EHP3 to use this function?

Favorites are stored in tables as for everything in the SAP system.

SAP CRM 7.0 - NWBC desktop client

Hi all,
we are on SAP CRM 7.0 (NW > 7.02) and NWBC 3.0 - 3.5.
In my understanding there're two ways to use SAP NWBC . By using (NWBC desktop client) and/or (NWBC for HTML).
We have assigned the CRM Business Role and then the PFCG role to a test user. If this user use NWBC for HTML the business role content is displayed correctly. Using the NWBC desktop client is not showed the same result. Is only displayed the business role name. Same behavior also by using the standard SAP business roles and PFCG roles.
Seem that the NWBC for desktop don't manage the UI service entries in PFCG menu (generated through CRMD_UI_ROLE_PREPARE report).
We are doing something wrong?

Roadmap vor NWBC with regards to SAP Fiori

Dear experts,
is there a special roadmap for SAP NWBC? Is it the chosen interface for accessing SAP applications for the
future? How does SAP Fiori influence this roadmap?

In case you haven't seen it, you might want to have a look at the SAP User Interface Technologies - Road Map. Any detailed Fiori questions are better asked in the UI dev or Mobile spaces.

Display Request Form is not triggering in Standard SAP WDA : FITE_REQUEST

Hi Guru's,
In our Travel Scenario in NWBC, Once the employee finish the Travel Request he is unable to take print out by clicking on Display Request Form. Nothing is happening when we click on "Display Request Form".
The Form I am using is FITP_REQUEST_FORM. It is displaying perfectly when I execute via SFP. The problem I am facing is nothing is happening when I click on "Display Request Button" in WDA

Issue is solved. It was Program Error from SAP side.
Now All the buttons are working fine and I am able to print PDF also.
Solution is implement the note 2031585 - SAP NWBC ABAP Runtime Patch 40.
System Details : ECC 6.0 NetWeiver 7.4 ,
EHP 7 , SP-Level 06

URL link to open transaction in NWBC Desktop client

I am trying to create an URL link to open a transaction in a role that I am using.
The webpage is shown in a web-chip as a part of FPM page inthe NWBC desktop client.
I have tried this type of concept: https://serverXX:8000/sap/bc/nwbc/~canvas/roleEntry/MyROLE:56/
The problem is that this opens the transaction in the HTML version of NWBC (inside NWBC desktop client).
However, I would do not want to use the HTML based version of the transaction. I want to use nativ abap transaction inside NWBC Desktop client.
I am able to open the transaction with a link from a webbrowser with this type of link:
sap-nwbc://https://serverXX:8000/sap/bc/nwbc/~canvas/roleEntry/MyROLE:56/
This link does not open at all from within NWBC....
How do I achieve opening a transaction via URL from inside the NWBC Desktop client?

Same issue i have as well.
My Understanding is, in NWBC desktop, if you open a non sap (eg: html) page, NWBC becomes an IE Browser.
That means you are now out of SAP for that tab (with html page) and whenever you try to launch any SAP transaction (using the method from HTML) it will launch in a new window and ask for Login.
May be Experts like Samuli Kaski & Melinda Ludanyi can put some light on it.
But, I have one more solution for this which is partially working in my case. May be helpful in you case as well.
Issue: From some SAP transaction in NWBC (say tab A), you are launching the html page (say tab B) and then want to launch another SAP transaction (Say tab C) from html.
Solution: Embed the HTML in SAP using HTML Viewer class and launch SAP custom transaction using the interface IF_LSAPI. It will launch it in new tab as a sap transaction with your html page.
Now if you want to launch the SAP transaction from your html page (Which is embedded in SAP custom transaction) you can use HTML Viewer class Events and you can pass parameters as well. Re use the same interface IF_LSAPI and launch it in new tab
In my case i am facing problems as the web developer has so many things on java script and they are not working properly. He is working on it and i am hoping it will be fine.

I had the same problem. At the bottom of note 1400383 you'll find a PPT that describes how to configure the backend. I had to do the following to get NWBC to work:
Edit the table NWBC_CFG in SE16:
Use transaction SE16 or SE16n to create a new client specific table entry in table NWBC_CFG (refer to chapter 4.6 in general SAP NWBC 3.0 documentation):
IDX: Any three characters
Cockpit: *
Name: BUSINESS_LINE
Lang:
IDX      = any ID, consisting of three characters
COCKPIT     = * (means relevant for all Cockpits)
NAME     = BRANDING_IMAGE
VALUE      = URL
The URL must be a link to a picture (JPG or PNG) and it must be ensured that the image can be loaded without authorization having been required.
Branding URL:
IDX     = any ID, consisting of three characters
COCKPIT     = * (means relevant for all Cockpits)
NAME     = BRANDING_URL
VALUE      = URL
The URL can be the corporate portal page of the company which is then loaded.
For more info, check out the powerpoint at the end "NWBC_ServerSide_Setup.ppt". If it doesnt help, try to follow the PPT from beginning to the end.

NWBC 3.0 PL4 and WIndows 2008 R2 Citrix.

I was able to get the SAP NWBC 3.0 client up and running. We knew that the .net framework 3.5 SP1 was included in Windows 2008 R2 but we did not known that you actually need to initialize the feature itself. It seams to be a totally different way to configure this within Windows 2008 R2.
For now the application is working perfectly local on the server itself but we are still suffering with an issue when we like the present it to the clients via Citrix Xenapp 6. The application is starting but at the moment when a user likes to maximize or minimize the whole application is disappeared from the screen. The Citrix session is still running on the back ground but the user doesn't see anything anymore related to this client. Changing the session windows size or color quality didn't help.
Does someone know what could cause this issue?

Just wondering if you have resolved this issue?

Default "SAPInitial" View for Leave Approval in NWBC 4.0

Hello All,
We are using NWBC 4.0 for Desktop. Requirement of client is to default SAPInitial from dropdown list in View Field under Work Overview>Leave Approval. I am not able to find in R/3 where the configuration is done to default SAPInitial view for Leave Approval.
Any help on this will be highly appreciated

Hi Nishant,
just to clarify this from the NWBC team and to give some detailed background information:
With NWBC 4.0 the default is that the index page is pinned when you connect to a system the first time on your local machine.
The logic here is very easy. NWBC checks if there is a special *.tab file for the system in the following user directory - %APPDATA%\SAP\NWBC\Tabs. The files have the naming convention SYSID_NWBC.tabs. If the file does not exist, the pinned index page will be shown as default and the file is written and stored into the Tabs folder.
That means this logic is not dependent on the SAP system user, but on the OS/Windows user.
The next time you start NWBC and connect to the same system, the tabs are read from the *.tab file and you can then unpin and pin other tabs.
So your first question is somehow strange, as the default definitly is the pinned index page.

NWBC 3.0 Does not open beyond the splash screen

I have uninstalled/re-installed and rebooted many times. Deleted all nwbc.ini files plus anything else I could find.
This NWBC version 3.0 used to work on my PC in Nov and early Dec.
Now all I get is the initial splash screen saying that the program is going to run (and it shows up in my task list for a moment or two) and then nothing. There's no task running, nothing.
I've tried NWBC 3.5 - same problem. I've tried from Run Advertised programs. I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling at least 6 times. Nothing.
Anyone see this ever and can help?
I really need quick response on this!

Uninstall NWBC , go to REGEDIT --> Navigate to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE --> Expand SOFTWARE node --> Locate SAP -- Delete the Folder NWBC.
And
2). Expand HKEY_LOCAL_USER --> SOFTWARE -> SAP --> NWBC - Delete.
Restart the system and try to install NWBC again and check.

You're right, it seems BAdI HRESS_NWBC_MENU_EXT will work. I think I didn't make myself very clear as I didn't say that launchpad menu will no longer be used with NWBC since we will use the left side navigation, much user friendly and quicker to access to.
Reading SAP documentation it seems this BAdI (available from EHP7+) will solve my issue.

Adding a custom css in sap_corby theme in NWBC for HTML 3.6.

I use the theme sap_corby in NWBC.
I'd like add a few changes in the design of the portal.
For example, I'd like add the custom.css style, user name and etc.
I've added in the table /UI2/NWBC_CFGCV parameters:
COCKPIT_TITLE = my title,
WELCOME_MESSAGE = my message,
CSS_URL = my css address (For example, /sap/bc/ui5_ui5/sap/zhcmi384_ui5/custom.css)
Next I open in browser (ie 10) link:
<server>:<port>/sap/bc/ui2/nwbc/?sap-client=<>&sap-language=RU&sap-nwbc-node=root
and I've see that COCKPIT_TITLE and WELCOME_MESSAGE is load well, but CSS_URL does not work.
How to load my custom.css file into NWBC?
If I want to try to edit the theme in UI Theme Designer.
When I want to create a topic in the designer. I only see active "open" button. Other buttons are disable.
I open the theme (the Copy). I make changes.
I choose to unlock. all is well. but where can I find my topic?
I do not see her anywhere.
