  • Mac Mini i5, 2011, Bootcamp Install of Windows 7 Fails (again)

I've looked through the forums and I've seen many people with similar issues.  I partition, and attempt to install windows, and get the 'no bootable disk' error.  Here's what I've tried:
I've tried installing using a usb DVD Drive, and I've seen that many don't work...so when it failed a few times, I moved on.
I've tried installing using a flash drive...I've tried formatting the flash drive using disk utility giving it guid and mbr records (separate attempts)
I've tried just letting bootcamp do its thing and attempt to make a bootable drive out of it.  I simply can't get anything to work.
    Bootcamp partition size 250 gigs...
I have no other peripherals hooked up when I try to install.
There was a thread that had a list of things to do...#10 said to let windows installer format the drive.  That wasn't even an option for me.  In bootcamp, I choose the partition size, hit 'install' and the machine reboots and i get the 'no bootable disk' error.
Any help would be greatly appreciated...

Hello, this doesn't directly answer your question at all, but I find it a far better way to tun Windows® on a Mac for several reasons...
    https://discussions.apple.com/message/17749210#17749210
Three advantages to this method are...
It does split the free space available to either OS, as they Share it.
You can run both at once, instead of having to reboot as in using Bootcamp.
Copy & Paste, Fileshare between OSes effortlessly.

  • 11.5.10.2 re-install on Windows 2003 fails File Space Check

    Hi,
After a dodgy staging area ruined my first install, I cleaned out the server as per Metalink Note 124353.1.
I have recreated my staging area and am now attempting to reinstall Financials. However the pre-install check 'File Space Check' fails even though I have 136GB of free space available!
Can someone tell me how to reset the server so Oracle sees the correct amount of available free space?
    Thanks,
    Bartoosh

    Hi
I have encountered some problem. This what I did
    Clean all old stage area
Clean all Oracle folders (the c:\oracle and c:\program files\Oracle)
Clean all registry in the LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\ORACLE and on SYSTEM\SERVICES. All values regarding any ORACLE installation.
Clean all temp files from Documents and Settings\USER\Local Settings\Temp and c:\windows\temp
Clean all Oracle values in path
    Clean Windows trashcan
Try this, and then create your stage area again, and try to install
    Hope this help

  • MacBook Pro (17-inch, Mid 2009) Bootcamp install of Windows 7 fails

I searched and tried everything suggested, but I am unable to get Windows 7 to install on my MacBook Pro (Updated to OSX Lion 10.7.4)
I even replaced the hard drive, installed Snow Leopard, upgraded to Lion, and am still at the same place.
Bootcamp assistant does its thing, creats the partition and when Windows 7 boots up to install, I end up with a blank screen (which tells me this has to be a driver related problem) - The CD spins for a while, and then all goes silent :-(
I've even connected an external monitor to the external display port, but that's also blank.
Has anyone out there managed to get Windows 7 installed on this model (This is the one with the NVIDIA GeForce 9400M and 9600M GT processors)
I've tried, in System Preferences/Energy Saver to switch to the "High Performance" graphics card, but still no go.
I have tried legitimate copies of Windows 7 Professional with SP1 and Windows 7 Ultimate.
I'm a Computer Science graduate with more than 30 years in Windows and more than 10 years in Mac experience and this one has stumped me.
Any help would be appreciated before I submit a support request to Apple $$$$

I've resolved my problem in that it turns out to be a hardware problem on my MacBook Pro.
Seems like the NVIDIA GeForce 9600M GT (the discrete high performance graphics processor) is not working - I am unable to switch the MacBook to the "High Performance" GPU - it always remains in the 9400M (integrated GPU) mode - which explains why Windows 7 is not installing - it's not supported with the 9400M, only the 9600M GPUs.
I'll send my MacBook in to see if they can replace the 9400M but I suspect that's a motherboard problem.
Hey Bob - looks like it turned out to be a MacBook Pro problem after all, and not a Bootcamp problem (Thanks for suggesting I look there tho)
    I'm off FISHING !!!

  • Labview 2009 install on windows 7 fails with error code 1935

    Hello all,
I have problems installing LV9 on my windows7 machine.
    It always ends with:
    Any ideas would be welcome.
    Thanks
    Albert

Since it is not simple to reinstall only .net framework on W7  (it is part of the operating system),
I checked the .net framework with the .NET FRAMEWORK VERIFICATION TOOL
    ( http://blogs.msdn.com/astebner/pages/8999004.aspx.)
Verification succeeded for .net 2.0,3.0 and 3.5.
Since there are more problems on this pc. (1:windows update problems with strange errorcodes, 2:unable to turn windows features on/of)
i decided to rerun the W7 setup.
i selected the upgrade option , assuming this would update corrupted files, and it did.
After that LV9 installed without problems.

  • "BCP Commit Failed" New Install On Windows 2008 R2 with SQL Server 2008 R2

I am installing a new Netweaver install on a virtual machine loaded with Windows 2008 R2 and SQL Server 2008 R2. The install gets to the "Import ABAP" phase and just hangs. SAPINST says it is still running, but there is no activity to suggest there is anything going on. There are no errors in the main logs, but after digging a little I did find these errors in the SAPSDIC.log file.

Anyone have any ideas as to what might be going on? I can't find anyone with this exact same error. And this is our first attempt at installing a system with Windows 2008 R2 and SQL Server 2008 R2. All of our other Windows SAP systems are on Windows 2003 and SQL Server 2005 and we're in the process of upgrading - this being the first system.
    Thanks in advance,
    Michael

  • Windows Search Service failing to install on Windows Server 2008 R2 Terminal Server

    Hi,
I am unable to install the Windows Search Service on a Server 2008 R2 Terminal Server. I want to install this to enable indexing options within Outlook 2013 for all users.
Server Manager > Add Roles > File Services > Select only Windows Search Service > Install.
The error I receive: "Attempt to configure Windows Search Service failed with error code 0x80070057. The parameter is incorrect."
    Thanks,
    Bjorn

    Hi,
I did the test and could install the Windows Search Service without problem.
Which role did you installed on the terminal server?
Did you try to install it on another windows server?
    Regards.

Update KB2685811 fails to install on Windows 7 64bit FROM WINDOWS 8.1

    Hi,
Based on my research, this update package only applies to Windows 7 and Windows server 2008 R2. Windows 8.1 doesn't support this update.
If you need any further assistance, please feel free let us know.

  • USB Console (Serial) Driver fails to install on Windows 8.1 x64

The USB console cable driver v3.1 will not install on Windows 8.1 x64.  Had a similar problem with Windows 7 x64 but this was fixed using Greg's (greggar25) excellent step-by-step procedure (see post: https://supportforums.cisco.com/discussion/11492306/usb-console-driver-install-failing).
I am using the driver from this link: http://software.cisco.com/download/release.html?mdfid=282774228&flowid=7442&softwareid=282855122&release=3.1&relind=AVAILABLE&rellifecycle=&reltype=latest
I followed the same procedures I did for Windows 7 and the install goes without a hitch.  Reboot and connect the USB cable, opened Device Manager and now I have a COM Port randomly appearing and disappearing with its number incrementing well above 1,000.
A few times while it appeared for a few seconds, I was able to right click on the properties, update the driver and chose Cisco Serial and it settled down but it did not assign a COM port.  Then a few seconds later, it starts the disappearing/reappearing thing again.
Anyone have luck getting this to work with Windows 8.1 x64?

     Hi,
open Device Manager by simply typing the words on the Windows 8.1 Start Screen. The Search Charm opens and click Device Manager in the displayed list.
In Device Manager a new hardware category, CiscoUsbConsoleWindowsDriver, is displayed. It has two components: the Cisco Bus enumerator and the Cisco USB to Serial adapter. Expanding the Ports hardware category shows a new Cisco Serial port.
     or
    Look into below
    https://supportforums.cisco.com/discussion/11492306/usb-console-driver-install-failing
    1) Install the usb console driver\windows 64\setup(x64)
    2) Follow the wizard and accept the defaults
    3) Restart the computer (the installer usually says it needs a restart)
    4) After restarting the computer, plug in the usb cable
    5) The computer should say installing Device driver software and fail at the Cisco Virtual Comm Port00
    6) Click the Windows button, right click computer, manage
    7) Under Computer Management, Click Device Management
    8) Go to Ports (COM & LPT)
    9) You should see the Cisco Virtual Comm Port00 with a Yellow Exclamation point on it
    10) Right Click on the Cisco Virtual Comm Port00 and select Properties
    11) Click the Driver Tab
    12) Click Update Driver
    13) Select Browse my computer for driver software
    14) Select Let me pick from a list of device drivers on my computer
    15) Choose the Cisco Serial Driver
    16) Device Driver is installed successfully, take note of the com port it is using and enjoy.

  • Can we configure SAP server installed in RHEL in windows sapmmc?

Can we configure SAP server installed in RHEL in windows sapmmc(Which is also sap server with same version and same DB)?
I have tried to configure using help from previous post in SCN ( SAP MMC in one server to control the entrie landscape ) but it is not working...  As picture shown below after entering the details am clicking on add but nothing is happening...
Scenario is I have installed 4 VM's with SAP installed in all (out of it 3 linux and 1 windows) & all communicating well and they are in same Network/Landscape & I can configure/manage/logon all servers in host GUI... But If I shutdown my VM or a Laptop...  Every time I have to start all the servers... by starting lsnrctl, DB, sap for all the servers,
Is there any chance to configure sap in windows sapmmc...???
Kindly suggest the process step by step...
    Thanks in advance...

  • Whether SAP Netweaver 7.02 could be installed on Windows Server 2008?

    Hi ,
I want to know Whether SAP Netweaver 7.02 not SP6 could be installed on Windows Server 2008? The help install document only mentioned Windows XP and Windows Server 2003, not mentioned Windows Server 2008, but I want to install it to Windows Server 2008 w64, I don't know whether could be installed successfully.
        Thanks for help!

    Hi Munish,
But I don't know where to download SAP JVM 4.
My SAP NetWeaver 7.02 is only a trail version, so I couldn't download SAP JVM 4 from SAP Market, could you give me one?
       My G-mail is: [email protected]
       Thanks!
If there is no SAP JVM 4, I only could install SAP NetWeaver 7.02 with j2sdk-1_4_2_19-windows-i586-p or j2re-1_4_2_19-windows-i586-p or j2sdk-1_4_2_09_windows_i586 and j2eesdk-1_4_02_2005Q1, I don't know which version I should choose to install.

  • Installing Developer Suite 10g R2 on Windows Vista failed !!

It seems Oracle has a new challenge of producing a new edition of Developer Suite that will install on Windows newest falvour, Vista. I installed Oracle db 11g on my Vista O.S. and everything runs normally. But my Developer Suite 10g R2 failed to launch setup.exe, giving me the following error:
    Checking installer requirements...
Checking operating system version: must be 5.0, 5.1 or 5.2. Actual 6.0
    Failed <<<<
Exiting Oracle Universal Installer, log for this session can be found at C:\Program Files\Oracle\Inventory\logs\installActions2007-11-16_06-40-54PM.log
    Please press Enter to exit...
Any idea to solve the problem? Or it's all that I have to wait Oracle for an 11g Developer Suite version that is supported by Vista??!
    Thanks!

Either your tnsnames.ora file that Forms is using is not set up properly to connect to your database, or else you need to install the Microsoft Loopback Adapter.
I have set up laptops with a Loopback Adapter, so Forms will connect regardless of the Windows computer name. If the computer name is included in the tnsnames entry for your on-board database, then you probably don't need it.
When you installed the 11g database, the installation set up a tnsnames.ora file with an entry for that database. First, try copying the entry into the corresponding tnsnames.ora file used by Forms.
In my system, I have four distinct tnsnames.ora files, each one is a duplicate of the others. Whenever I need to change an entry, I do it in one of them, then do a Save As three times to replace the other three. I use these comment lines at the top of the file to help me:
#--  For reference, save as: C:\oracle\tnsnames___ref.ora
    #--  For Forms6i,   save as: C:\oracle\orant\NET80\admin\tnsnames.ora
    #--  For Forms10,   save as: C:\oracle\DevSuiteHome_1\network\admin\tnsnames.ora
#--  For SQL Plus10,save as: C:\oracle\product\10.2.0\db_1\network\admin\tnsnames.oraWithin the laptop running withOUT the loopback adapter, this is the entry for the on-board Oracle 10 database:
    #--  Laptop           Could use:  (HOST = Steve-PC) / 127.0.0.1
    ORCL =          (DESCRIPTION = (ADDRESS = (PROTOCOL = TCP)
                                      (HOST = 127.0.0.1)
                                      (PORT = 1521))
      (CONNECT_DATA = (SERVER = DEDICATED)
(SERVICE_NAME = orcl)  )  )Note the replacement of the HOST entry from the Windows computer name with the generic IP address for the local platform.

  • ITunes 11.1.3 download fails to install for Windows XP

Currently have iTunes 11.1.2.32 installed on a Windows XP SP3 PC. Control Panel lists version as 11.1.1.?. After downloading 11.1.3 install fails because "older version can't be removed". Uninstall of older version from Control Panel also fails.

    (1) Download the Windows Installer CleanUp utility installer file (msicuu2.exe) from the following Major Geeks page (use one of the links under the "DOWNLOAD LOCATIONS" thingy on the Major Geeks page):
    http://majorgeeks.com/download.php?det=4459
    (2) Doubleclick the msicuu2.exe file and follow the prompts to install the Windows Installer CleanUp utility. (If you're on a Windows Vista or Windows 7 system and you get a Code 800A0046 error message when doubleclicking the msicuu2.exe file, try instead right-clicking on the msicuu2.exe file and selecting "Run as administrator".)
    (3) In your Start menu click All Programs and then click Windows Install Clean Up. The Windows Installer CleanUp utility window appears, listing software that is currently installed on your computer.
    (4) In the list of programs that appears in CleanUp, select any iTunes entries and click "Remove", as per the following screenshot:
    (5) Quit out of CleanUp, restart the PC and try another iTunes install. Does it go through properly this time?
