I believe every SAP CRM Implementation project would follow the ASAP methodology which is as follows:
Phase1: Project Preparation

Phase2: Business Blueprint
The implementation consultants do a study of the clients business and learn how the processes/ cycles involved thru discussions, workshops etc
This is documented as an AS-IS document.
The clients business processes are then mapped on to SAP by the consultants.
This is documented as the TO-BE document
Gap Analysis is performed to identify any gaps between the AS-IS and TO-BE documents. i.e. something that the client wants but cannot be met thru SAP CRM. Then enhancements etc come into picture.
Phase3: Realization
The system is configured as per the TO-BE document. And the client is given for testing.
Phase4: Preparation for Go-LIve
Once the client confirms all the unit and integration tests, the master data needs to be uploaded. Other system checks by basis and SAP itself are performed.
Phase5: Go live and support
The project goes live and the consultants give a month's of hypercare or support.

SAP Hana implementation project - beginning tasks

We want to implement a new SAP landscape running with SAP Hana database. As I understand, the SAP Hana database is a database that runs on a specific server appliance, am I right?
For we can know which SAP Hana server appliance to buy we need first to estimate the sizing about it! We want to implement SAP ERP product (EHP6 or 7) on Hana DB, but we don´t know how to start... this is, we don´t know how to measure this, in order to buy the best solution (server appliance) for our own scenario!
I checked some information in the following areas:
service.sap.com/sizing
and also the Quick Sizer tool (service.sap.com/quicksizer) but this is so much confused tool... I don´t understand it at all.
Can you help me with your experience which SAP Hana server appliance we need to buy for this kind of project?!

Does the calculation view work without xsodata service? From the URL, your XS project name should be Project_DM, but from the xsodata source, the project name is EricssonItalgas. I'm confused with this. Did you use rewrite_rules or?

He can choose to mitigate the risk, assign a Mitigating Control or he can remove roles.

let us assume we are implementing it in BANKING industry
here the requirement is in improvement in the field processing and all the effeciency of the sales or feet on street
so we implement the CRM marketing with CIC
what it will do that we start with first the readiness document that what all are the requirement of the bank and how the company can cope it with the help of CRM
then we prepare the BLUEPRINT to state that the data to be processed will be strucutured in CRM in how many phases or the timely schedule of the roll over of CRM in bank
next up we start with the configuration ,like we have to start campaigns and generate leads for the banks which may get converted into the opportunities
so have to do all the configuration of CRM according to the requirements being given
one thin g i forgot which is very imp is that we do requirement gathering,its pretty imp part of entire process
after getting these only we can do whatever we want with CRm
so after that we realise the configuration in realisation phase then we do those UATs and SITs
this way we phase out the CRM in any sector

What is the role of a Security Consultant in an SAP implementation Project and the stages in which he is involved?

Hello Mohammed,
The role of a Security consultant in any SAP product implementation (not just GRC) is wide enough and it's hard for anyone to sum up on a single forum post. Still I can give you some pointers.
Security consultants come from different backgrounds, some from networking, database administration, infrastructure and even development like me. They contribute enormously to any product implementation from scratch (landscape design) to go-live (and continuous maintenance) so they are active on every phase of the implementation.
Following are some of the activities they may perform (or participate)
-System Landscape Design (work closely with BASIS and DBAs)
-Check Infrastructure feasibility from security perspective (For Portals exposed to internet or extranet work closely with network providers for firewall security, VPS etc.)
-Propose security guidelines, access policies, disaster recovery plan, business continuity roadmap (work closely with information security consultants and internal auditors or risk management teams)
- Implement SAP solution specific Security measures (involves almost every SAP solution) for example: SAP R/3 security, GRC, BW/BI, HR, FI, Portal security etc.
- participate in application integration for example: LDAP, IDM, SAP UME, shared directories etc (User master records security is on high priority).
- Check for any possible backdoor access vulnerabilities (ex: open RFCs, function modules like ping_rfc), and it involves almost all SAP solutions and there are special procedures to analyze such vulnerabilities.
there are many such activities that a security consultant perform on day to day basis. Please do not interprete the above mentioned activities (entirely) as a criteria for any security consultant profile. There are many many possibilities for a security consultants to work from pen testing to SoD violation remediation. That's why I said it's not easy to sum up security.
Always remember, Security and GRC are two sides of a coin they work together. however GRC is more of a combination of policy, regulation, events and involves management participation whereas security is a purely technical practice.

Integration testing takes as its input modules that have been checked out by unit testing, groups them in larger aggregates, applies tests defined in an Integration test plan to those aggregates, and delivers as its output the integrated system ready for system testing.
Unit testing - One part or the whole part of transfer rules , update rules, etc..
Integration testing - The whole data flow cycle to be tested

Normally, Nobody will give such kind of information.
Projects that are implemented by the comapny are confidentail. When an employee joins a organization, the offer letter clearly states that the employee should not disclose organization details, which will help the competitor company to gain an unfair advantage.
At the time of induction, The Hr clearly specifies not to disclose the project details to even close friends.
My suggest use google and search for infomation.contact your friend circle who can help you out.

Not able to see General Documentation in Implementation Project

Hi All,
I've created one Template Project and one Implementation Project. Now I've added some documents to Template Project - General Documentation Tab. Ideally this newly added documents should be appeared in Implementation Project - General Tab. But in my case I am not able to see this newly added documents. Is there any reason behind this? What should I do to make them visible in Implementation Proj - General Documentation tab?
Another question is, If a document from Project Documentation tab is deleted by pressing 'Delete Row' button (not actual 'Delete' button), how can I retrieve that document? How can I see the list of all deleted documents?

For the implementation project, please read the session "USING THE TEMPLATES" in the wiki page for template projects, where it explains how to update your project with the changes made in the template project.

regarding the download, I'm not aware of any easy way to do mass download of the documents. Maybe in SI80 you could do such thing but I believe you would only be able to filter by the folder where the documents are phisically stored and as you're using a template project, all the documents are stored in the folder SOLAR00, shared along with solutions and etc..

Hey Gaito,
great. Now that you have a template project, you need to create one or more templates within the project template.
Go to tab Templates (of your Templ Proj) and activate 'Global Rollout Functionnality' to be able to use the templates.
Create a new template thanks to button create. Visibility will be set to red 'private'. You ll have to set it to visible so it becomes visible from your implementation project.
You ll see when trying to do that next message 'No scenarios/configuration structures assigned to the template XXXX'. That means that in SOLAR01 you did not define a scenario that ll be used in template you re trying to create
In order to do that go to SOLAR01 for template project, select/create scenarios in tab structure and set in column template value of your template (the one you re creating in SOLAR_PROJECT_ADMIN) and in Global Attribute set value t Global
You l definitely find more info on this in sap document SMI310 (course). I don t know if you can find it on internet

Business Blueprint
Once a company decides to buy SAP, a consulting company is being hired for the implementation. The consulting company analyze the business process of the company and prepare a blueprint.
Sometimes the business process is reengineered (BPR) to accommodate SAP's functionalities.
The second step is installation of SAP and setting up three clients namely development client, test client and production clients.
In the development client the SAP functional and development group start configuring the SAP based on the blueprint. Once it is completely configured, it is being transported to test client for testing using real time data. Once testing is successful, the configuration is being transported to production client to be used by real-time users.
So this process makes SAP more reliable and robust in production.
Preparation Before Implementing SAP
SAP R/3 implementation is generally a key project for any organization. It is necessary to do preparation before implementation.
Many organizations speak of "transferring technology." But what does that mean? Transfer technology involves transfer of the system which includes the

software
people
processes
information
organization
structure
synchronization
function and
behavior.
It becomes obvious that the transfer of any part of the system, without the rest of it, does not transfer technology. In our context, the software SAP/3 is being changed. In most of the cases the hardware needs to be changed. The people need training to operate SAP system. But unfortunately, many organizations fail to understand that they need to change their processes. SAP is a package & it contains many best practices suitable to almost each industry. The designer (configuring the system) must design the system keeping the objective of the business objective in mind. The user should be prepared to change its processes and ensure that the objective of the processes is met. This should be done without or minimum distortion of the processes designed by SAP. This is a big challenge to the designer as well as user. It should noted that the user representative involved in the system design should be empowered for low level BPR decisions.
Also the information stored in the system will be in different form than the legacy system. The user must be prepared & trained for the changed.
The major challenge is behavioral change. Implementation of SAP R/3 system changes relationship of different persons, it gives/denies access to information which was not available/available to the person, it changes processes and control functions. This all gives behavioral issues. To get best out of SAP, these issues must be addressed before implementation.
SAP R/3 re-engineers many processes and the fear of downsizing and loosing job hinders free acceptance of SAP in many organizations. This fear hinders free communication between the end-users and SAP system designer. The communication is a vital element in successful implementation of SAP R/3. This issue of 'Fear Of Downsizing' must be addressed before starting implementation project.

Any enterprise application software has to cover a broad spectrum of functionality, yet to be configured enough to meet specific requirements. SAP achieves this by ASAP methodology & R/3 Business Engineer.
AcceleratedSAP (ASAP) is SAPs standard implementation methodology. It contains the Roadmap, a step-by step guide that incorporates experience from many years of implementing SAP. Quality checks are incorporated at end of each phase to ensure quality of deliverables and monitor critical success factors.
ASAP is delivered as a PC based package, so that an implementation project can begin prior to having an SAP R/3 system installed

Creating the Business Blueprint for Implementation Projects
Purpose
To create a Business Blueprint during the implementation of mySAP.com solution to document the business processes in an enterprise, and to decide which processes should realize in SAP system.
The use of Business Blueprint in the Solution Manager during the realization phase (configuration and testing) should continue. It needs to reuse the project structure created in the Business Blueprint phase, to configure and generate test plans. One can also display, change and enhance project documentation created during the Business Blueprint phase, during configuration.
Prerequisites
You want to implement a mySAP.com solution. You have completed the Project Preparation: you have defined an implementation project and a system landscape in the project administration of the SAP Solution Manager.
Process Flow
...Create a Blueprint structure, using predefined substructures.
Check the Business Blueprint structure, and the business scenarios, business processes and process steps it contains.
Decide which business scenarios, business processes and process steps you want to include in the Business Blueprint. You can enhance the processes and process steps, or adjust the names of individual processes to suit your company requirements.

Business Blueprint
Use
This function documents the business processes in your company that you want to implement in the system. In a Business Blueprint for Projects, you create a project structure in which relevant business scenarios, business processes and process steps are organized in a hierarchical structure. You can also create project documentation and assign it to individual scenarios, processes or process steps. You then assign transactions to each process step, to specify how your business processes should run in your SAP Systems.
The Business Blueprint is a detailed description of your business processes and system requirements. You can print it out.

Assign Document Authorizations
Assign authorizations in the Role (PFCG) and User Maintenance.
Activities
1. Create a Blueprint structure in the Structure tab, using predefined substructures.
2. Check the Business Blueprint structure, and the business scenarios, business processes and process steps it contains.
3. Decide which business scenarios, business processes and process steps you want to include in the Business Blueprint. You can enhance the processes and process steps, or adjust the names of individual processes to suit your company requirements.
4. Create project documentation to save in the Business Blueprint, in the Project Documentation tab.
5. Assign transactions to process steps in the Transactions tab. This specifies which transactions in the system correspond to the process steps in your enterprise.
6. Print the Business Blueprint document.
7. When the Business Blueprint is complete, you can start to set up the development system landscape.
Result
You have specified a Business Blueprint. You can reuse the Business Blueprint and the project structure to configure and test your business processes.
Business Blueprint
Definition
A Business Blueprint documents the business process requirements of a company. In collaborative business processes, several companies are involved.
Use
The Business Blueprint gives you a general idea of how your business processes could be mapped in one or more SAP Systems. The Business Blueprint documents in detail the scope of business scenarios, business processes, process steps, and the requirements of a mySAP.com solution implementation.
Structure
A Business Blueprint compises the following structure elements in a hierarchy:
Organizational units
Master data
Business scenarios
Business processes
Process steps
You assign content, for example, project documentation, Business Configuration Sets, or transactions to individual structure elements, in the SAP Solution Manager.
You can also create structure elements for organizational units and master data, below a business scenario. You only use these structure elements if the organizational units and master data are only relevant to the business process above them in the structure.

Defining System Landscape in Implementation Project

Hi
I want to ask about defining System Landscape of an implementation project in solution manager.
I have assigned the logical Component in Systems tab.
I want to ask about creating the IMG Project in Sstems Landscape tab,, Is it compulsory to create IMG project for the new Implementation Project??? Why we create IMG Project?? Is it compulsory??

Hi,
Implementation Project u2013 A project to implement SAP solution as a part of regular implementation or a roll out. This is considered for single-site implementations. Predefined scenarios can be selected from template projects.
It is not compulsory to create these projects in solution manager that depends upon your implementation strategy.

Linking solution manager projects with CHARM implementation project

Hi Guys,
Currently i am working in CHARM implementation project, i have created one CHARM implementation project with urgent correction and i am able to create the Transport request and release the transport request succesfully and i am able to move it to quality system successfully. But my customer is asking to link the solution manager project to CHARM implementation project.
Earlier before implementing CHARM they have implemented project managent in solution manager, during that project they have created so many projects which are currently running, now they want those projects to be linked CHARM implementation project.
When ever they create a transport request through CHARM they want the TP to be saved under a respective project which they are using currently. but according to my knowledge the TP can be saved under CHARM implementation project only.
Now i want to know whether the projects created in SOLAR_PROJECT_ADMIN can be linked to CHARM implementation project. Pls give ur valuable inputs as it is very urgent.

Hello,
We have implemented this with two systems landscape where in we have in place a Solution Manager Dev system and Solution manager Production system both are SOLMAN 4.0 with SP12. So the path for us to move the changes is from Development Systems to Production system.
We have ChaRM between the Dev and production. We reapplied the satellite system concept. For us the Solution manager Prod is a satellite systems all the changes that we move from Development system to Production systems is tracked with necessary documentation in the ChaRM process.
Yes, I agree with you that this is not any big magic. Working with two SOLMAN implementation, I strongly feel that SAP needs to have well rounded ChaRm processes. We have robust Change Management Process, but when we moved to ChaRM we were limited functionality of the ChaRM processes.
I had approached and did some research on how other companies are implementing the same process. Most of them have almost the same process for tracking SOLMAN changes. I am still look out for improved process to manage SOLMA changes.
