Hi,
Does SAP system maintains the user-groups change history in any tables. Like it does for users in USH* tables.
Is Group Creation date, etc is recorded in any table ?
If user-group description is changed, is it recorded in any tables ?
Any pointers would be a great help !!!
Thanks & Regards,
Chandrasekhar. You could check the USGRP* tables to see if any relevant information is present. Hope this helps.

How to only synchronize one specific LDAP user group with SAP?
Hi,
Hopefully this is the correct forum to post this in. I want to have continuous one-way synchronization of users from my LDAP server to my SAP central system. I've started configure in SAP using transaction SM59 and LDAP. Can I somewhere set that only one specific LDAP user group shall be transferred to SAP (they do not need to be assigned to any specific group, profile, role in SAP) - or should this be done on the LDAP server side (or is it at all possible)?
Correct me if I'm wrong, but the User Group field in the report RSLDAPSYNC_USER only concerns SAP user groups right? This would therefore not be sufficient since I want to select the users to synchronize based on user groups in the directory.
Thanks, OscarWe've used a repository constant to specify the LDAP filter for reading users / groups from the LDAP target.
E.g. LDAP_FILTER_USERS (&(objectCategory=person)(objectClass=user))
Then we also have a constant for the LDAP_STARTING_POINT
For our AD Group Initial Load we filter according to these settings:
LDAP_FILTER_GROUPS = (objectclass=group)
LDAP_STARTING_POINT_GROUPS = ou=IDMManagedGroups,ou=Groups,dc=cfstest,dc=le,dc=ac,dc=uk
The above example only reads AD groups starting at the specified OU
Then in a Job From LDAP Pass the LDAP URL looks like this:
LDAP://%$rep.LDAP_HOST%:%$rep.LDAP_PORT%/%$rep.LDAP_STARTING_POINT_GROUPS%?*?SUB?%$rep.LDAP_FILTER_GROUPS%
I hope this helps

SAP Query, user groups, revoking 'change' rights
Hi,
I have a problem regarding SAP Queries and revoking the change rights. This is what I have done:
1. Created the new user group in SQ03
2. Created the new InfoSet (SQ02), assigned it to the above UG (SQ03)
3. Created the new user, assigned it to the UG in SQ03 and removed the Change checkbox (revoke change rights)
4. Logged on as the new user
5. Started SQ01, switched user group to the new one
6. Created the new SAP query based on the new InfoSet, run the query
As I understand the principles of user groups and queries, I wasn't supposed to be allowed to do the step 6 as the new user, as it was revoked the change rights. Why wasn't I stopped?
I searched for reply in previous posts - everybody agrees on principles, but I didn't find explanation on why it doesn't work.
Thanks in advance!
KR,
IgorThe table AQGDBBN seems to display a mapping of User Group with use rindeed but the results are less than the actual assignment. And the mapping does not have the Z query usergroups that have users assigned in SQ03.
Anything that I may be missing?
Thanks,
Kashif -
How many ways we can create authorization for user groups in sap query reports
Hi Gurus, I am getting a problem when I am assigning users to user group in sap query report .The users other than created in user groups are also able to add &change the users .So please suggest me how to restrict users outside of the user group.
Please send me if u have any suggestions and useful threads.
Thank You,
Suneel Kumar.I don't think it can be done. According to the link below 'Users who have authorization for the authorization object S_QUERY with both the values Change and Maintain, can access all queries of all user groups without being explicitly entered in each user group.'
http://help.sap.com/saphelp_46c/helpdata/en/d2/cb3f89455611d189710000e8322d00/content.htm
Although I think you can add code to your infoset and maybe restrict according to authority group, i.e.:
Use AUTHORITY-CHECK to restrict access to the database based on user.
Press F1 on AUTHORITY-CHECK to find out how to use it in the code -
Looking for: UA members with Student SAP User Group
UA Professors in North America:
Does your campus have an offical SAP student user group, ERP special interest group or similar? If you do, please post with a brief description of what that group is / does.
In the next month I would like to organize a conference call for the schools with these SIGs to understand what member schools are doing, how the groups are organized, how the groups are (or are not) affiliated with your SAP initiative on campus, what works / doesn't work for your students and so on. Students at member schools have more and more interest in starting these groups - and we'd like to be ready to share best practices! Our colleagues at ASUG are interested in this topic as well, and will join us for the call.
Thanks for sharing!
Best Regards,
HeatherCentral Michigan University has remained active since Dr. Andera's last post (9/29/10). We fulfilled our goal of visiting Cargil and 3M this past March 2013 in ST. Paul/ Minneapolis.I attached a couple pictures of our visits to 3M & Cargil. It was a very rewarding experience that allowed us to present our program to each company in depth. This trip taught us as group many things. We have also gone to multiple ASUG meetings including Grand Rapids, and Detroit. We are currently invited to the ASUG-Illinois Meeting on Nov 1 at Harper College, and will be hosting an event in the fall here on CMU's campus in Mt. Pleasant, MI.
As a group we have weekly meetings including guest speakers and SAP TERP10 training sessions. Our group has now reached 100+ students and continues to grow each year. There are many things we are doing that attract new students.
For instance, this past year the Information Management Institute here on campus conducted the 1st annual ERPSim. An annual invitation only competition challenging the best ERPsim teams in a competition to determine which team has developed and implemented the best business strategy for the ERPsim Game. Twenty teams of four students and one mentor competed head-to-head for the Top Honor of ERPsim Champion. The top five teams were rewarded with scholarship money and plaques.
So to answer your question, Central Michigan University currently has a very active SAP UASUG , and it only continues to grow!
If you have any further questions, please do not hesitate to ask, I am the president of the group here at CMU and would love to help you. Just email me at [email protected] -
Hello,
I have a question, is there any SAP standard table in DMS where i can found out a user name and its user group? table, tocde, program or query will help. really need those two field to be seen. Please help me on how i can extract this in DMS,Hi,
You can navigate following path
Go to SPRO->cross appln components->Document Management->general data->SAP Easy Document Management->Define user group
Then in technical information of the screen ( Menu option System -> Status )you shall get the relevant table name.
Also you can look into Table DRAW field name BEGRU. This field represents Authorization group.

Default User Group in SAP Query (SQ01)?
Hi,
Is there a configuration or parameter to set so that when starting SU01 it will open a certain User Group by default, e.g. Z1234? Clicking the button "Other User Group" is tedious for end users.
Thanks, will assign points.Unfortunately those steps take you to SQ03, "User Group: Initial Screen". There is no option in SQ03 to set a default User Group, either.
Any other ideas?
I tried searching for parameters in SU01, but there isn't a suitable parameter.
Advice welcome -

Creating a new user group?
I have created a new domain (say, TestDomain), in which I have created a portal
(say TestPortal). I went to the admin page for the web application (TestPortalWebApp)
and clicked on the 'create group portal' link. It took me to the 'Create New Group
Portal For Web' page. In this page when I click on the 'browse user groups' button,
I see a list of user groups: AdministerUser, ConfigureComponents, ConfigureSystem
etc.
Where are these coming from? How can I add my own user group to this list?HI,
I would suggest you post this into the standard BusinessObjects Enterprise forum. This forum is about the SAP Integration Kit.

Mass creation of common folders for different user groups
Hello Experts,
We are using Portal 7.0 SP12 and we have 10 different user groups created in Portal.
Based on this group structure, we need to create two common folders in each of the user's personnel documents in KM.
Is there is any way to achieve this kind of requirement ?
Can we do mass creation of these two common folders which will be assigned to all of the groups. This needs to be done in user's personnel documents and not in Public documents.
Any help in this context would be highly appreciated. points assured.
Thanks in advance,
Anil Kumar. For every user a folder is created in userhome. One approach is to capture this folder creation event and create the folder structure you need. You need to develop a portal service which will listen to events from userhome repository.
1. Capture folder creation event for user home
2. Create the folder structure you want in this event handler
Check this documentation on how to do this.
