Sap opentext DMS sizing

Is that possible to use SAP sizing tool for open text DMS?? or which sizing tool to use?

Hi,
For Technical details on Open Text you can look into the Open Text Knowledge base. For this you need to be registered user.
https://knowledge.opentext.com/knowledge/llisapi.dll/open/Knowledge>
SAP does not share any sizing document on OpenText.
Hope this answers your query.

  • SAP Content Server sizing for DMS

    Hi
Can anyone advise on the most appropriate way to 'size' for a new Content Server. Documents have been stored in the SAP DB till now, but the use is increasing, so now a new Content Server is to be added and all existing documents migrated into it. I have seen references in the past to SAP methodology for sizing the content server, but now cant find any.
    Thanks

  • SAP Easy DMS / KPRO / Content Server

    Dear Fiends,
We have a requirement to configure the SAP Easy DMS integrating with ECC 6.0 EhP6 application. I am trying to understand the base application components which are needed to set-up the landscape.
    My questions are:
1 - Do we need SAP Content Server as part of the SAP Easy DMS configuration to store the attachments? (or) Can we use shared file system and link it to SAP Easy Document Management directly to store the attachments?
2 - Do we also need KPRO along with SAP Easy DMS?
    Thank you,
    Sri

    Hello Tilak,
    Thank you for the response.
Based on your comment, We have to use KPRO regardless whether we use Content Server or not with Easy DMS.
Is KPRO a additional installation or is it part of standard SAP application and available via transaction codes?
    Thank you,
    Sri

  • SAP Portal Network Sizing.

    Hi Friends,
We are implementing SAP Portal for ESS/MSS.
We would like to know whether, we have required computer network resources or not.
How we can check whether we have enough bandwidth that SAP Portal would need.
Please advise how we can check existing network. And what are the values SAP recommand to have ?
    Thank you.
    Regards,
    Prashanth.R.G.

    Prashanth,
Portal sizing is based on SAPS. Based on the number of users, please use the Sap Quick Sizer tool and calculate the SAPS. You need to work with hardware vendors such as IBM, SUN, DELL, and HP to find out the best server platform that you can use for your requirements considering different metrics in to account such as Processor, Virtualization, OS, Memory, DB per CPU, High-Availability, Implementation cost, server consolidation ratio, hardware/software breakdown cost and etc.,
You can find some info at http://www.sizinglounge.com
Specific to the enterprise portal, you need to check several tuning parameters to fine-tune the performance, Most of these can be identified in SAP Going-Live GA, GO, and GV checks.
When you talk about bandwidth, you need to work with your network admin based on where your user base comes from? Intranet? Extranet? Internet? There are different tools available such as sniffers to do an end-to-end testing. Hope this helps.

  • SAP B1 Disk Sizing

Anybody know, how much disk used for sap b1 transaction? For each transaction type (ex. Sales order,Delivery,AR inv.),  or have reference document for disk sizing . i try to sizing disk consumption but each sbo transaction was effect many table.
    Thank,Seang

If you need a rough idea of it. Why you dont keep it simple and compare the DB size or space available before and after? There are also some scripts/queries you can google.

  • Re:SAP easy-DMS request for recovery path-location

    Dear All,
I have a requirement of a recovery for an origin path or a location in easy-DMS for the Document.
Fact is that Document  was deleted by mistake, then the deletion flag was reseted, and finally path-hierarchy or location has been somehow deleted.
    Is this possible.
Please advice how to get this done if possible.
    Regards,
    Vivek

    Hi,
In Easy DMS if a document is marked for deletion, It cannot be recovered. Process is same as SAP DMS.
For future course, you can have some configuraiton done in Easy DMS like "Originals deleted from EasyDMS can be moved to recycle bin by customizing easyDMS"
    Hope this helps.

  • Disable or Deactivate Delete Button in SAP Easy DMS.

    Dear All,
My client is using Easy DMS and is working fine. Now the issue is as soon as files become more in Private or Public folder he is Deleting Documents using DELETE Button which is available on the Tool Bar. Whereas if he uses Delete Document from Context Menu it shows Authorization is not given to delete the Document.
Is there any way to overcome this by Disabling or Deactivating Delete Button on the Toolbar.
    rgds,
    Dayanand

    Dear Anubhav,
I have already tried this option. It shows this can not be implemented.
Please let me know any other option is there to overcome this issue.

  • SAP Easy DMS - Link between Document Area and Document Types

    Deat Friends,
Is there a transaction code or a customizing available to link the Document Area and Document Types??
For example: Document Area (DMS) is linked with Document Type (DRW)
    Thank you,
    Sri

    Hello Chandu,
We are trying to create a documents via TCODE: CVO1N
One of the entry we need to populate is the "DOCUMENT TYPE" to create a document. If, we enter the Document Type = DRW, we are not able to see our custom Storage Category while attaching/Check-in a document.
Where as, If, we enter the Document Type = DMO, we are able to see our custom Storage Category while attaching/Check-in a document.
I see that the Document Type = DRW is linked to Document Area = DMS
Similarly, the Document Type = DMO is linked to Document Area = FILESYSTEM
My question is, Is there a transaction code or a customizing option available to link the Document Area and Document Type?
    Thank you,
    Sri

  • SAP BW quick sizing

    Hi all,
I am currently at a client location. I have collected all the information related to sizing and i have all the infocubes with their dimensions and keyfigures and all the ods related information. The customer wanted quick sizing output. When i go to service market place for sizing for Business Intelligence i can see some 5 sections there as table 1 to table 5. The first section i have not entered anything as it is related to planning. Table 2 i have entered the report level information. In table 3 i am not able to enter anything as i dont understand what does that section mean. In table 4 i have few doubts as i am not able to understand the field "period". I am not sure what to enter in that field. It says the no of loads which will be kept in the infocube. Does that mean we are considering the load till archival is in place or is there any meaning to that.
Please guide me if anybody has worked on the bw quick sizing so far.
Your answers would be rewarded with suficient points.
