Sap pck

hi
i read that PCK is some thing which enables the smaller companies (which are not the business parners of XI to communicate with XI and then send it to the target systems(which are the business partners of xi).
>and PCk is a package which is not distributed individually but given only to its business partners then how can the smaller companies (which are not the business parners of XI) communicate via PCK

Hi
PCK is a mini version of XI. It is used by smaller business partner (who cannot afford to install a full blown version XI) to exchange XI messages with large companies (having an XI installation).
PCK has its own local Adapter engine.

  • Getting the SAP PCK

    Hello,
I'm working for a company developing a 3rd party application that
we want to be able to interface with SAP Plant Management. We
want to get up-to-date SAP certification for this interface.
Our understanding is that to do this, we need to use integration
scenario NW-XI-AF to build an adapter between our application
and SAP NetWeaver. We have purchased the appropriate SAP
certification package, and were under the impression that it
would include the tools needed to build the adapter, such as the
    SAP PCK.
I am no longer sure if this is the case. Do we need to purchase
the SAP PCK separately from the certification package, or should
we already have it (as the PDF about the PCK implies)? Is the
PCK (and NetWeaver, which we have) the only thing needed to
build an SAP adapter? More importantly, will our clients need to
purchase the PCK to use our adapter? There are some documents
on SDN that imply that the PCK runs in place of XI rather than
merely being a software development kit for adapters.
Secondly, our understanding has been that we can not develop
our adapter using the .NET Connector and have it be eligible for
certification from SAP, since that package is apparently depricated
and we now need to use Java? I wanted to verify this, because our
project would be much simpler if we could just use the .NET
    Connector.
I admit to being slightly confused by this, being somewhat new to
SAP architecture. And clarification anyone can offer here would be
    much appreuciated.
      Thanks lots,

    Hi Jeya
I have the same problem at SP19. Did you ever get this resolved? If you have an answer please let me know.

  • PCK with XI

Can PCK and XI be installed on one WAS 6.40 standalone system?
I have reviewed the SAP PCK Installation Guide (SR1), and it seems that the recommendation is to have the PCK on a separate WAS 6.40 system.
    Regards,
    James

This is not possible and would not make any sense.

  • PCK no IDOC Adapter

    Hi
it seems that the [SAP PCK |http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw04/helpdata/EN/99/115281baba404890d2561617a78409/frameset.htm](Partner Connectivity Kit) does not come with IDOC Adapter.
Is that really true ?   Seems strange that I'd have to use the RFC Adapter to say post in a Order to R/3 system...rather than via IDOC.

Yes, the PCK and the non-cenral AAE do not have plain HTTP, IDoc or WS-RM adapter.
This will be future enhancements of the PCK and AAE.

  • HTTP and XI

Just new to XI (6 months) and have been asked to connect 2 XI systems together over the internet without using SOAP and/or XI specific protocols. Decided HTTP might be able to do the trick since SSL will also be used. My scenario is as follows :
    File Adapter-1 -> XI-1 -> HTTP Adapter-1 -
    > HTTP Adapter-2 -> XI-2 -> File Adapter-2
HTTP Adapter-1 is a receiver adapter on XI-1.
HTTP Adapter-2 is a sender adapter on XI-2.
I would also create identical service, namespace, interface on both XI systems so that I could distinguish between different message types.
Is this feasible to connect 2 XI systems or is there a better way ?
If you propose an alternative, please include links to the appropriate documentation.
We are running XI 3.0, NetWeaver 4, service pack 17.
    Thanks

    Hi,
Your below scenario is feasible with XI.
    File Adapter-1 -> XI-1 -> HTTP Adapter-1 -
    > HTTP Adapter-2 -> XI-2 -> File Adapter-2
In a B2B scenario, each party has its own XI Systems with XI1 & XI2. In this case, both XI systems have to set up their HTTP Adapters for B2B communication.
If you are setting up a scenario where the XI1 is using SAP XI and the another party is using SAP PCK, then you only have to set up the XI1 systems. On the other hand, if the XI2 is using SAP XI and the first party is using SAP PCK, then you will only have to set up the XI2 systems.
In above senario you need to configure both XI systems with HTTP Adapters.
One more thing as you had said about SSL layer,
    Plesae refer below link

  • All Abt Difference Between PCk & SAP XI

    Hi,
What is the Techinal & Other Difference between PCk & SAP XI.
Can we do every thing on PCK as like SAP XI??
Please dont post any Blogs or Doc's
Can any one give the General Description
    Regards
    Suman

    Hi Suman
    Partner Connectivity Kit
PCK enables small business partners with no native XML capablity to connect to Xi > PCK uses XI protocol to connect small partners to connect to SAP XI
    Purpose
The Partner Connectivity Kit (PCK) enables you to connect to SAP Exchange Infrastructure (SAP XI).
The PCK is a J2EE-based application that uses the Adapter Framework, which is also based on the SAP XI Adapter Engine. The adapter framework is based on the SAP J2EE Engine (part of the SAP Web Application Server) and the J2EE Connector Architecture (JCA).
    Implementation Considerations
The Partner Connectivity Kit is based on the SAP Web Application Server 6.40 J2EE server.
    Features
    ● Using the PCK, you can configure how messages are exchanged between senders and receivers by defining collaboration profiles (communication parties, services, and communication channels).
    ● The PCK enables you to convert information to the SAP XI messaging protocol. This conversion is made possible using adapters.
Conversely, you can convert the data that you receive from the Integration Server to other formats so that it can be used by your applications. When defining the flow of messages that are processed by the PCK, one of the end points is always the Integration Server.
    ● The SAP Conversion Agent by Informatica allows you to convert unstructured, semi-structured, and structured data in XML format using an adapter module. See: Conversion Agent
    ● A graphical mapping editor enables mapping between source and target structures. If you have implemented XSLT or Java mappings and packed them in a JAR or Zip file, you can import these archives.
    ● Monitoring is available to enable you to monitor and track messages that flow through the PCK, and to monitor the adapters.
    ● Information on adapter development is available for partners. This also contains information on how to create a module to extend the adapter functions. See: Adapter and Module Development
    ● The configuration example shows you which objects must be created in the PCK and in the Integration Server of the XI customer to configure a message exchange.
What is the Techinal & Other Difference between PCk & SAP XI.
PCK is like a small XI .you can use the Partner Connectivity Kit (PCK) to connect smaller business partners, who do not have SAP Exchange Infrastructure, to the Integration Server.
The PCK of the smaller business partner receives a message from its system landscape and converts the format of the message to XI message protocol. The message is forwarded to the Integration Server for further processing.
    HOW IT WORKS
To forward XML messages from the Integration Server to a receiver business system in the system landscape of the smaller business partner, the PCK of the business partner receives the message, converts it into the format required by the receiver system, and then forwards the message. The PCK contains the following adapters:
    ·        RFC Adapter
    ·        File Adapter
    ·        JMS Adapter
    ·        JDBC Adapter
    ·        SOAP Adapter
    ·        SAP Business Connector Adapter
    ·        Mail Adapter
    ·        XI Adapter
Can we do every thing on PCK as like SAP XI??
yes ofcourse almost evrything you can do with PCk Tjis is like a small SAP XI to enable small partners who do not have SAP XI
Hope this has cleared you PCk in the simplest way

  • SAP to non-SAP Communication Using Proxy Framwork

    Hi all,
While searching for the connection option for the B2B collaboration between SAP and non-SAP business system, i found that there are two ways we can do it.
One using Adapters and another using Proxy Framework.
In our case We are on SAP Enterprise and non-SAP business partners are using I2, legacy system.
They are not using Rosettanet PIPS, so I can not use RNIF or any other adapter for the inbound or outbound operation.
My question is If we use proxy framework, what needs to be done at the non-SAP business system . Do we need to install proxy runtime and how does this proxy runtime will communicate with the application in non-SAP system.
    Thanks in advance

    Hi Ruby,
You can use proxies for communicating with ABAP 6.20 systems and above and for J2EE applications.
For B2B communication you would normally use an adapter for example plain HTTP, SOAP or RNIF ...
An alternative is to install the XI PCK on the partner side. The PCK is essentially a standalone version of the XI Adapter Engine installed locally at the partner. This enables a scenario where XI communicates with the PCK over HTTP and then an adapter (file, JDBC ...) is used to communicate with the legacy system and vice versa.

  • Is it possible to test XI Adapter on PCK by JNDI lookup?

    Hi, friends
I can't test the XI Adapter by using the communication channels and sender/receiver agreements on a standalone PCK (without XI server to be connected). Is it possible to test XI Adapter on PCK by JNDI lookup?
I can locate the XI Adapter by JNDI lookup (JNDI name is configured on SampleRA.xml):
    ConnectionFactory cxf = (ConnectionFactory)initctx.lookup("deployedAdapters/sample_ra/shareable/sample_ra");
But later it failed to get the ConnectionSpec and create the Connection. Could anyone give me a sample code for testing XI Adapter by JNDI lookup?
    Thanks in advance.
    Best Regards,

  • Is it possible Mail - PCK -File Scenario?

    Hi all,
i want to try the scenario in PCK  where the mail adapter of PCK will pick the mail from mail server address and it will pass through PCK to the File receiver adapter.
anyone have a related document for this scenario.
    Thanks

    Hi
    PCk -with out XI???
PCk is nothing but enables smaller companies to exchange xml documents with business parter's SAP XI
Business system environment of small business partner is connected via PCk to integration server  by means of XI
    check this for PCK info
