SAP Phone Local Architecture

Dear Experts,
I'm trying to deploy this feature and I am having some problems.
Into SAP Help, I found a lot of documentation regarding this solution:

Despite of this I can't create the RFC Destination Specifications that is shown in one example in this guide, I don't have any Gateway Host and I don't know which program ID I have to choose. Can you tell me how I have to proceed to create this RFC to do that SAP Phone can works???
The telephony software is running in the machine and locally I cannot start SAP Phone Server because the problem with the RFC.
Do you have any SAP Phone step by step guide to provide to me, so may be it can help me better than the SAP Help.

Customer Interaction Center with SAP Phone

Dear All,
We are using SAP Phone with CIC, and everything is working well when the SAP Phone server is started, but soon after one by one some of the extensions stop working. The users when they try to do any operation are blocked as SAP R3 is waiting for SAP Phone server to reply and in the log of the server we see the following
"A call to TAPI function lineGetAgentStatus has failed.
Call handle to use:        (Not used)
Second call handle to use: (Not used)
(Both or one of them may be marked as "Not used"
if not relevant for TAPI call)

We have checked the TAPI version and it is 2.1.x. Has anyone faced similar problems? and know of any solutions? If we re-start the SAP Phone server again everything works fine for some time. We checked the memory and its 4GB main memory, and system load is also low
Any help on this will be very much appreciated.

Difference Between SAP Phone & ICI

Hi All,
We are planning to implement CRM IC WebClient using CRM 5.0. Currently we do not have any phone integration but we would like to consider doing so.
Can somebody please explain me the difference between using SAPphone Vs using ICI? Irespective of which ever option we use, do we still need a CTI Server?
What are the advantages that ICI has over SAPphone? Can we have Email Integration using SAP phone?

Hi Aniruth,
When a Company implements CTI integration for the first time, they have to see 2 option of interfaces.
One is SAPphone and another ICI interface.
Older SAPphone is mainly for telephony only integration in ICWinClient. It does not support other communication channels like email and webchat.
ICI interface is used for web based applications like ICWebClient. A Multi-Channel Server would connect with ICI to integrate with ICWebClient.
ICI and SAPphone are the interfaces that is used to integrate the CTI with the Interaction Center.
So you still need a CTI to route calls, access customer information from CRM system and display on ICWebClient etc..

From searching forum i found some threads that told SAP can handle communications using this feature. But no real time example or clear explanation is available about this. SAP HR Information Architecture

HI
I'm trying to get an overview of the information object architecture of SAP HR.
It is necessary to know the information hierarchy/architecture before we start modelling the processes.
I have looked around in both SAP and on the web, but I only find fragments and not the whole picture (if it exist at all ?). Using transaction SE11 is av very detailed and timeconsuming activity that's not preferrable at this stage.
Any suggestions?

I'll try to be more precise.
In SAP OM I know that a Person (P) can be assigned to a Postition (S) and a Position(s) can be assigned to a Job (C) or Org unit (O). This is central information objects for org managment
But there are many other relations as well, ex:
- Competency
- Course type
- Personal budget type
- Appraisals
etc.
How is these central objects related to each other? This will give an overview an understanding of process ownership and dependencies in the system.

Contact list -who I see in my contact list vs. what is hidden on the phone (local contact list?)

When I text people, they say they are getting 2 of them. Apparanlty one is pulling from my contact list, visible to me on the phone. it sound like there is a "local" contact list, to which I cant see or find anywhere. any help appreciated!

Need Advice On Assisting a WWII Vet Regarding Internet, Mobile Phone, Local Phone Access

Hi…I’m trying to help out a veteran of WWII living at the Veterans home in Napa (Yountville, CA 94599). He currently has internet through Comcast, a local phone through AT&T, and a cell phone through some service called Jitterbug.
Here’s what I’m thinking, add him to our plan with a Smart phone that supports mobile hotspot. Then, cancel the current cell phone (can he keep that number?), cancel his internet service, and cancel his local phone. I think this would cut his monthly costs in half.
The only concerns we have is:
Is the coverage good in that area? He mentioned the walls in the Veterans home are thick and in the past coverage was very poor. Can you tell me if it’s better now, is there a guarantee regarding coverage quality? He uses an Apple computer, so I would also need to know what the internet speed supported for a mobile hotspot would be for say an Apple iPhone to compare that with Comcast.
We don’t want to do this unless it is beneficial to him and not a degradation in network performance. This is the main entertainment and communication for an ailing man of in his final days with us. He’s fighting cancer.
Are there any better suggestions?

there are different possibilities of placing a sap hr module in a sap system landscape. i wrote down what i think are the biggest advantages and disadvantages of the different solutions (1-3). i very much would appreciate additional feedback. thank you very much.
1. sap hr is on a own system/own client

2. sap hr is on a system with other modules but on a own client

SAP AG or your SI should be able to help you address this at both a high and in-depth level for business case purposes.
I've seen/heard of your first option most frequently, but have worked on both options 1 and 3.
Option 3 was not significantly complicated IMO from a security authorizations issue.
What drove the use of option 1 in both scenarios I've experienced is the existence of multiple (non-HR) instances existing within the corporate landscape already and a desire to implement the most recent version of HCM via Netweaver. (think running SAP 4.6c for Financials, Logistics, etc, but wanting ECC 6.0 with the latest Enhancements for HR).
Additionally, depending on whether your organization uses a distributed or centralized model for your landscape - you may want one Corporate/Global HR system but have a need to maintain separately managed instances regionally, for example.
This all really depends on the organizaiton, which is why I suggest talking to SAP or your SI.
