SAP PM Module job opportunities after certification??

Hello All,
I am in a very big dilemma. Need some serious counselling from some experts. I am currently working as a maintenance engineer from the past 3 years. I want to switch into IT for which I am thinking to go for SAP Certification in PM Module from ATOS. But I have few doubts regarding the PM Module. What are the job opportunities in PM Module as a fresher?? Will I be getting a job easily?? What sort of future is there of PM Module?? Some are saying that it is very tough in this to get a job specially as a fresher. Please help me because I am thinking to resign at my current place and then go for the certification.
Regards
Jayant

The primary point is not to resign from your job.
If possible take a month leave or go for e-learning.
SAP Certification is not a means of guaranteed job, it could only enhance your skill set.
I do not want you to end up in the same category of people who blame SAP certification for not getting their break. Continue what you are doing, take a break and go for training and then try your luck in SAP market. That is the safe way of playing the game :-)
All the best.

  • SAP- SD Consultant Job Opportunities

    Dear Experts,
Myself Daniel. I have done BE (e & c) and also MBA ( marketing & systems). Currently, I am  having 2 years experience in Sales Industry ( FMCG ). Thats one of the best FMCG Companies in the World. Now 2 years of Domain experience is not much i know, but, i believe i have have acquired a thorough knowledge in Sales. Now, i want to move on to SAP. My seniors are telling me to go for SD Module. I am thinking of admission in an authorized SAP training institute. People at the institute said that SD Module suits me best, but i want to know from you experts. Please guide me. They( the institute people) say that SD Module is the most demanding in terms of job opportunities. But having gone through different threads here its contradicting. The authorized SAP training institute guys are saying that they will also ASSIST me in getting a job but they cant GUARANTEE it. fare enough. But i want to know about the current job opportunities as a Certified SAP SD Consultant in todays market from experts.
Please help me in this, i would be grateful.
    Thanks,
    Dany

    Hi Daniel,
All your points are valid, but unfortunately that's the state of affairs as of now. Getting an SAP Certification is equivalent to "I have learnt this SAP course from this Authorized Training Center". And that's the end of it.
Not many companies will hire you just because you have an SAP Certification. Coupled with the fact that getting an SAP Certification is quite an expensive affair (at least in India - I don't know where you are from...) the entire idea is a joke IMO.
And from the looks of it, it doesn't look like SAP is going to change this trend any time soon. Before jumping into the Certification bandwagon, do read some of the agonizing tales of freshers like you, who have done Certification and still looking for a job.
Im not trying to discourage you, but you should know the facts before making a huge investment in terms of time and money so that you can make an informed decision.
    Good Luck!

  • SAP-SD Module Certification for 1 yr exp in Sales - MBA(Marketing)

Hi! I'm an MBA(Marketing) with 1 yr exp in corporate sales and at present i'm working  as a Sr. Mrkt Exe in Electronic Surveillance System - Channel Sales (just 2 months back). I heard about this SAP-SD Module Certification from Siemens, and I want to know 1)whether that module + certification would help me in getting a job in SAP???
I'm planning to join this module once i complete 1 yr in this company with 1 yr Channel sales experience...and many forums and discussions have had this never ending debate on "SAP Certification Vs Implementation Experience on SAP"....so being new to this field, I have to start somewhere so :
2)Is this the rt platform for starting a career in SAP??? and
3)1 yr exp in Corporate Sales and  1 yr exp in Channel Sales, does that matter in case they are looking for 2 yr domain experience for pursuing the SAP-SD module???
    valuable suggestions highly appreciated!!
    thx
    Nelson

    Hi Nelson,
1)Whether that module + certification would help me in getting a job in SAP???
Yes, if you get certification it will help you but you need to be sound in knowledge on SAP SD. Siemens will only provide you job assistance, to click the interview you need to be knowledgeable.
2)Is this the rt platform for starting a career in SAP??? and
Yes, Siemens is an education partner of SAP and they provide good training but once you enrolled for the course you need lots of hard work, because this training will complete in hardly 18-20 days and right after that you would be required to appear in the Certification Exam.
3)1 yr exp in Corporate Sales and 1 yr exp in Channel Sales, does that matter in case they are looking for 2 yr domain experience for pursuing the SAP-SD module???
Yes it will definitely matter because SAP training is given to those people who have domain experience because the businesses processes SAP follows are the actual ones used in any organization so it will be better if the person is experienced and knows the know how of his work area.

  • For Professional level certification aspirants in SAP Controlling module

Dear all Professional level Certification aspirants in SAP CO module,
I have recently passed the Certification test on SAP Management Accounting (CO) module in version ERP 6.0 EHP4.  I have more than 4 years experience in SAP Controlling module. The following are some of my suggestions regarding preparation for the exam.
    1. All the questions were scenario based. The exam tests expert level knowledge and real time scenarios in the module. The theoritical knowledge is not sufficient to clear the exam. Unless you have atleast 5 to 6 implementations in Controlling module, it is not advisable to give it a try.
    2. Detailed knowledge of the system configuration settings about the various courses mentioned in the syllabus is required. One needs a clear understanding of Special costing functions, ERP integration, Transfer Pricing, Material ledger, New GL Parallel valuation, Planning and Budgeting fuctions in various components etc.
    3. The exam tests in-depth knowledge about various integration aspects of Controlling module with other modules. The advanced master data functionalities of other logistical modules like MM, SD, PP, PM, QM, PS, CS, HCM is tested in detail.
    4. Several methods of process and performance optimization of the system are also tested.
    3. Some reporting aspects of BW and BI are also tested. The cross application aspects of the system are also tested.
    4. The exam also tests the real time skills in preparing Blueprints, Business Process design and trouble shooting the system. Being knowledgeable about some of the processing errors and message classes will be of great help.
Hope this information helps you in preparing for the certification.
Should you need any clarifications, please post a reply to this thread and I will post answers.
    All the Best!!
    VS.

    Hi Vikrant,
the pass mark for the exam is 58%. However it may be different. The passing mark shown on your screen on the day will be the correct passing mark.
All the questions were scenario based which would involve high analytical skills and through understanding of the system integration. It would be difficult to tell any specific question. The questions carry different weightage. If you answer the questions with less weightage correctly than the questions with more weightage, you end up scoring less though you answer more number of questions correctly. and it is vice versa. Go through your syllabus and cources and try to concentrate on the topic areas which contain more weightage.
Moreover, the exam is not completely technical in nature. It tests a lot of analytical and problem solving skills required on the job.
Note:Please do not ask the questions or contents of the exam as they are confidential.
    Hope this information helps you.
All the best for your exam!
    Regards,
    Vishnu.

  • Matrix certification for SAP PSCD module

    Hello,
I would like to know if the SAP PSCD module is already certified to run on SLES (SUSE Linux Enterprise Server)?
Do you have a matrix of modules certified to run on SLES?
    Best Regards

    Dear Francisco Martinez,
you should have a look to the <a href="http://service.sap.com/pam">Product Availability Matrix</a> at the SAP Service Marketplace. On the right pane, navigate to <i>SAP Industry-Specific Components</i> and then <i>SAP PUBLIC SECTOR PSCD</i>.
For example, when choosing <i>SAP PUBLIC SECTOR PSCD 4.72</i>, you will see, that PSCD is an addon for <i>SAP R/3 ENTERPRISE</i>. You now have to check, on which platforms <i>SAP R/3 ENTERPRISE</i> is certified.
On the right pane, navigate to <i>SAP Application Components</i> and then <i>SAP R/3 ENTERPRISE</i>. Choose your SAP R/3 Enterprise release and check on which database platforms it is released (If database is certified, the Application Server is certified as well. Because of this, you always have to check for the database platforms!).
Choose your database and check which operating systems are certified.
    Best Regards
    Hannes

    Hi Muasif,
The following is just my personal opinion regarding your question. Other people can have other opinions.
    1. Does Sun employs Java Certified Professionals, if
yes what are the procedures?I am not a Sun employee, however I do not believe Sun only employees Java Programmers, or Certified Professionals. Certification is very important however, it shows to your potential employer what you can do. However you must also put in the mix your attitude towards work, and how good you work in a team. It is a good think that you aim to work directly with Sun (From what I understand) however I believe that could be hard.
    2. Does any know particular job sites or particular
job companies hiring Java Certified Professionals.
    3. I am Sun Certified Java Programmer 5, I seek job
in USA. Can anyone tell me about job sources in the
USA where I can apply and get job. Currently I am not
in USA.Basically you should not be searching for companies hiring Java Certified Professionals, but only for companies searching for Java Programmers. I know in the UK there is a site called monster.com that specializes in finding jobs for people. In the US I never worked and thus I do not know. What I would sugest is to first see where you would like to go in the US. Remeber that over there you will do more then Just Work! after see what job opportunities are there in that area.
Again I am sorry if my post does not satidfy you. I wish you all the luck to find work in the US :) Remember Europe is not such an ugly place either :)
