SAP portal /index.html redirection

Hi.
My question is easy, or should do I guess, but I'm looking around and don't find it:
Can be changed the automatic redirection that happens in the SAP portal when you enter:
http\s://myportal.mydomain.com:<port>
and it goes directly to:
http\s://myportal.mydomain.com:<port>/index.html
I would like it to be changed so the redirection goes to
http\s://myportal.mydomain.com:<port>/irj/portal (or just /irj)
I'm sure there must be soma way to configure it, I've been looking around visual administrator and config tool but didn't found any property that defines is...
Thanks in advance and regards.

Hi Olivier,
and that's (or: should be) best practice.
Don't touch the standard portal /index.html or start page. Only makes an upgrade more difficult.
A reverse proxy is meant for this. Hope that one day SAP will automatically install a WebDispatcher together with the portal. Would eliminate a lot of questions like:
- http://server/ instead of http://server:50000
- how to do load balancing
- how to show a maintenance page

Tobias

    Dear Masa,
The application is opening perfectly once I assign STD. Role.SAP_HCM_BCR_EMPLOYEE_X1
Earlier I have assigned only custom role which I have created for custom Cataloge & group with the help of below link.
Creating PFCG Role and Assigning Catalogs and Groups - SAP Fiori principal apps for SAP ERP 1.0 - SAP Library
    My requirement and approach
We are going to use the only Leave Request application for Employee. So for that I had to create a custom Catalogue & Group with standard Create Leave Request application. and Created a custom role to assign the created Catalogue & Group  ( to display only Leave Request application.

  • Com.sap.portal.htmlb in SSL

    Hello,
We have implemented SSL on the portal platform (on the J2EE) and it seems to be working for the most part.  We are using it with Kerberos authentication.  We have noted that there are some issues and they mostly revolve around the com.sap.portal.htmlb "portalapp".  Firstly, when using SSL on port 50001, items in the HTMLB component are being called without SSL VIA port 50000.
Also, we noted that there are a few files physically missing from the ../com.sap.portal.htmlb/jslib directory (for example: refresh.gif and pagerror.gif).  When we manually created them, those particular errors have disappeared but we also see the:
    and
    "http://bnpdsapepc1d.corp.brucepower.com:50000/irj/portalapps/com.sap.portal.pagebuilder/html/emptydocument.html"
In the trace - but we are using HTTPS for everything else...?
Is there something that points the HTMLB component to a static URL or to pick up the http with 50000?  We have not made any custom changes here.
Any help would be humbly appreciated,
    Judson

We seem to have figured it out.  It turns out that the registration of the ktpass is very case sensative.  We registered the FQDN of the host with the hostname part in UPPERCASE.  Now the portal - Kerberos with SSL works fine when using the https://HOSTNAME.company.com:50001/irj.  Otherwise, we receive "Action Cancelled" from the TLN and down.  We checked the SSL cert and it looked lowercase so we checked the keytab and found the HTTP/[email protected] - we will try to resolve the UPPERCASE by re-running that part of the process.
    Thanks,
    Judson

  • Iweb created capital "INDEX.html"

iweb creates a capital "INDEX.html" page and it doesn't open when viewed over the web. Can't seem to make it create "index.html" and don't want to redirect it. Any suggestions?
When I create a new page, it creates the page name in all caps. I can't change it, because it'll change it right back, for all pages that show up in the navigation bar. If I create a page and tell it not to include it in the nav bar, then it seems to let me, but if it's in the nav bar, it won't.
The problem is that when you enter my domain name, it doesn't see capital "INDEX.HTML", and instead shows a directory tree of all the files on server. I had been using the term "HOME" and it was automatically redirecting from the index.html page to the "HOME.html" page, but some browsers are kicking back errors, asking users if they want to be redirected to another site, which isn't something I can live with.
How can I make the "INDEX.html" page lower case so the browsers will see it and not need a redirect?
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks-

The index.html file that iWeb creates is a redirect file and has no content, but it is NOT 0kB.
When you access your website without a pagename, index.html redirects to the first page in your Site.
iWeb is not involved in your problem. Better use another FTP application like [Cyberduck|http://cyberduck.ch] or check the settings of your current FTP app.

  • SAP Portal urj redirection

    HI masters.
I've a quick question for you, maybe is't a silly one, maybe it's more complicated but right now I don't know hot to solve it:
I've a portal environment, lets call it "portal.com" with SSL enabled and I've made the following redirections:
if one user enters in the web browser:
    portal.com or
    http:
    portal.com:
    he's redirected to
    http:
    portal.com:443\irj\portal (ssl port)
by creating a symple website in the server IIS.
What i'm not able to do is make the following redirection:
    from
    https:
    portal.com
    to
    https:
    portal.com:443\irj\portal
    It goes directly to https:
    portal.com\index.html
THere must be someplace where make a redirection to send any call from https:
    portal.com\index.html to https:
    portal.com\irj
    THanks and regards!!!

    Hi my friend
I don't quite understand why ssl port 443 is used in your EP URL. Is there a reason that specifically not to use standard https port 5nn01?
I'm assuming your scenario is to have all requests that access http://portal.com mapped to https://portal.com:5nn01/irj:
    Go to offline configtool --> cluster_data --> dispatcher --> IDxxxxxx --> services --> Propertysheet
http if this is release 640/70x, create a custom port like this: (Port:80,Type:http)(Port:56001,Type:ssl).

  • Change standard SAP GUI for HTML theme to portal theme

Please let me know , how to change the theme of the standard SAP GUI for HTML.

  • SAP GUI for HTML on Portal

    Hello All,
I have transaction iViews on the portal and I am using SAP GUI for HTML. Upon launching this iView, i get the logon page, even though I have SSO set up and working fine.
Now, the problem is, even after logging on with qualified credentials, the logon page disappears, 'Logon is starting' appears then the logon page reappears, as if nothing happened.
Any ideas as to why this is happening and how I can fix it?
    Regards,
    Motaz

Edgar: The ITS is working and the service launches successfully through the GUI.
I overcame the issue by using SAP GUI for Windows instead. I guess there is a problem when using the HTML GUI from a public IP. Something to do with security or a conflict in the 'hosts' file.

  • Effect html code of sap portal

    Hi all
Along with our web team I am looking into re-skining the SAP portal and was just wondering if there is a way of effecting the html code generated for each page of it. I know you can change the CSS tags, images via the theme editor etc but was wondering if it was possible to actually change the html code. i.e. have the ability to remove certain <table> tags or add new div tags and assign a class to them which could them be re-styled by adding aditional code to the CSS file. Basically the more that can be accessed the better so any help/advice in this area would be much appreciated.

  • Report painter report in portal - Excel output in SAP GUI for HTML

    Dear sirs,
I need your expertize. I would like to let my users display (Excel in place)/ save the result of my report painter reports into MS Excel. I have found notes 499262 a 314568, but didn´t understand the message (or there is no message:)). Does that mean I cannot use Excel in place together with Report painter and SAP GUI for HTML?
Second question: is there a place (user exit in generated code? I don´t even know what I am looking for) to get the data provided by the report painter engine and send the retrieved data to some custom function (to be able to call the Adobe form, to save it as a text file or any option how to manipulate the resulting data...?).
thank you for your time and effort,
    regards Otto

    Hi Otto,
You can send print the report to the spool and then use RSTXPDFT4 program to convert this spool to PDF file. Alternatively, you can export the spool to spreadsheet or ASCII file via SP01 transaction.
Additinally, I'm not aware of unability to use Excel output with SAP GUI interface.

  • SSO E-Sourcing and SAP GUI for HTML

    Hi,
We are trying to provide integration between SAP E-Sourcing and SAP ECC via the SAP GUI for HTML. From an E-Sourcing project, we should define a link which will link us to the report via SAP GUI for HTML. Some parameters are automatically transferred via the URL so that the report will be prefiltered.
The problem arises that we cannot create a SSO mechanism between SAP E-Sourcing and SAP GUI for HTML. The only documentation we can find is how to setup this SSO between the Portal and ESO (only included going from the EP to ESO). We need to find a way to do the opposite, i.e. SSO from ESO to SAP / EP.
    Thnx,
    Bram

    Dear Chong,
I have came across the following information about SAP GUI For HTML
With the version 7.02 / 7.20 of the NW Application Server
the SAP GUI for HTML has been completely
    reworked.
1.The rendering is now based on Unified
Rendering which is also used by many other
    SAP UI technologies.
2.Similar Look & Feel as other UI technologies
    3.Better Portal integration
    4.Full Theme support
    5.Unified client requirements
But have not came across any note which converts the SAP GUI for HTML to SAP GUI for Windows in appearacne. I think the point 2 mentioned about says that in this version the SAP GUI for HTML will have appearnce like the other UI.
    Pls refer the [link|http://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/scn/go/portal/prtroot/docs/library/uuid/d06db80d-ebf4-2a10-6b99-faa652c69d5c?QuickLink=index&overridelayout=true]
