  • SAP Positive Pay daily transmission and re-transmission.

Our company is implementing SAP. Positive Pay transmission is one of many interfaces we have to rewrite. Currently we use JD Edwards and we transmit payments multiple times per day. The data selection is based on the transmitted flag = u201CBlanku201D. At the run time, program reads these records and updates transmitted flag with value of u201CYu201D.  This way we never re-transmit duplicate records to bank. The same program also updates transmitted date. If file transfer failed during transmission or Bank did not receive data for a specific date, we use transmitted date as a data selection to pull and re-transmit data again (in this case transmit flag is u201CYu201D).
We have to keep the same functionality in SAP.
    1.     What fields can we use in the data selection to identify un-transmitted checks from the table PAYR in RFCHKE00    (FXHX)?  This must include void checks also.
    2.      What fields can we use in data selection (like transmitted date, flag, etc. in JDE) from the table PAYR in RFCHKE00 (FXHX) in order to re-transmit prior data?

  • SAP HR Implementors in USA

Where can I find a list of all SAP HR Implementers in North America. I am looking for a comprehensive list of companies which have implemented SAP HR in USA.
    Thanks,
    Mushtaq.

so who got you the H1 visa then?
I'm asking because I worked two years in the US under an H1B visa ("skilled worker"...), which had to be sponsered by my employer, who of course would take care of sending me to SAP projects to make $$$ for them.
Well, that was 1996, things might have changed a bit since. You have to look yourself?
Jobserve is pretty good for the European market, you might want to check the US site http://www.jobserve.us/

  • Experience Required for SAP SD Job in USA from India!!

    Hi All,
I have started my SAP career in SAP SD as a trainee. I had always planned to go to USA. But for that u need a job offer in company in USA.
I need to plan everything way before the time comes for me to search a job in USA.
    Details about myself first:
    Live in India.
Fresh Passport- Never been to any other country... Dont pity me!!!
    BBA 2011
    MBA 2013
One year of ERP experience as an end user of MS Navision (SD module)
SAP SD...1 month.. most prob I would be working for Automotive industry.
Money and location do not matter while looking for a job in USA
Type of SAP company in USA does not matter.
Will get certified by May 2015.
Now I have the following questions:
How much experience do we need to be good enough to secure a job?
    What kind of experience?
Any special skill that could give me an edge?
Is there a enough demand for SAP SD consultants there that they may be willing to sponsor foreign professionals?
Really appreciate your help here. Thanks a ton in advance!!!

    Hello Ravi sir,
I really admire you and your opinions. They are the foundation of what I am today, (Not kidding, I read so much that you have taught us)
With all due respect, I would like to put forth my opinion on what is being perceived about me or for that matter, anyone desiring a similar goal.
Working in USA is not the Pinnacle of life. Neither are the superbikes and Money. The term what I should have used is Financial Freedom. I have my personal likes and dis likes towards certain 'Material stuff' but that as well in not the pinnacle of life. It is a part of life. As a matter of fact, you cannot put one thing as a pinnacle of life. We should have a balance of all; work, family, friends , personal hobbies and personal development.
If I have to have to work, I would love to be paid my worth, which is not happening in India, due to stiff competition. Earn good enough to pursue my hobbies of riding on a superbike is a way of living which I would like to pursue. This is not a suggestion I am giving to those who are reading.
This being said, it shows that I do not care about SAP as a career, instead I am using it as a tool. So let me clear this out. I had other tempting options as well, which could have led me to a better financial freedom in or out of the country. I had an option to be as a Navision consultant way before I could have gotten a job in SAP. Realizing the fact that I have to work for 8 hours a day for the rest of my life, I would choose to do something that I like. I do like SAP. It's challenging but I like it. I would not strive any career if I don't like it.
And I believe you are living in UK?
I would, with all due respect, ask you to come to India and
    1. Work passionately.
    2. Learn on a daily basis
    3. Try to learn niche skills in your area
    4. Help others and try to mentor the juniors
    5. Next five years learning is the only way you live
My intentions are not to doubt about your objectives of living there. I really respect the decision you took. I'm sure you would have your reasons which are very specific to your needs.
    Simply put:
This goal is pushing me to work harder, staying focused, and achieving new things. If I get this, I will look for a new goal, and push myself even further. This might not make sense to everyone, but honestly I am doing what I believe would make my life better.
I put this question up, just to understand the job market out there and how can I make what I like a reality. I'm sorry if this question sent a different signal out there all together.
Ravi sir, I respect u a lot and will follow your advice. I will work hard for sure.
Thanks for your attention on this thread.
I hope it, any of my opinion did not offend you. If so, I would really like to apologies.
I would really like to know your opinion on my thoughts and guide me, after knowing that I don't keep it as an ultimate goal, as to what would best be of value to my intent to go out.
I would also like to share this beautiful post How to be successful in life ? which talks about what is success in life, and not only SAP. He just might have presented my opinion in a better manner.
PS- I do workouts every morning just so that I stay fit. I really am serious about my fitness, but it doesn't make fitness the pinnacle of life.

  • Questions on SAP/SF PO Integration & SF BizX RBP

    Dear Experts,
We are implementing SAP HCM and SF. SF goes live before SAP. We'll have a transition period from Flat File upload to SAP PO integration.
Would anyone have any recommendation on how to ensure a smooth seamless transition? We have tested in the test instance, and noticed some issues when SAP PO is turned on, i.e. User Name upper and lower cases, certain derived fields generated duplicate records, default locale was not passed from SAP and therefore overrides SF provisioning config, and users are not always in sync (bizX vs LMS). We will be using SOAP (Axis) Adapter for integration between SF and SAP.
    A few questions:
    1. Below are some of our data mapping, would appreciate if anyone has any recommendations/better suggestions or tips on these fields?
SAP Pers ID = SF User ID
SAP SSO ID (0105) = SF User Name (did anyone have issues with User ID - unique identifier and User Name - unique name for each user id?)
Manager field: we are using A002, if no value use B012, if no value use one up manager (by using one up manager, would this cause any issues?)
Time zone will be defaulted based on the employee's SAP ID (has anyone experienced issues with Timezone? especially for companies in Australia?)
Hire Date: is it true Hire Date must be in US format? When default locale is Eng_GB and timezone is Australia?
Initially we do not use Job code as it's not configured in SAP. We mapped Tilte = SAP Position Title. Is it possible to map SF LMS Job Title to Position Title in BizX?
Default Locale: we hard coded to "Eng_GB"
    2. We would like to set up a filter to select certain population of employees to be passed to SF. In our case we would like to pass only employees with an ESS user role. Does anyone know if there is a way of identifying and picking up only ESS users to be sent to SF?
    3. With Flat File integration, you recieve on screen error for pre import errors/warnings and an email notification after import. For SAP PO integration, we will have a nightly job to transfer employee data to SuccessFactors. Errors that occurred during the interface are stored in auto logs which are provided through the background job log. Is it true that the only way to check if there are failed/errored employees is by going into Webdypro and check the job log? Or would it be possible for SAP to send notifications of the pre PO errors and SF to send post PO errors? With Flat File load, the person whom imported the file will receive import status notification. With SAP PO since it is a batch job, how do we configure for a centralised email inbox to be the recipient?
    4. BizX security question: we do not want to show employee MI to users. RBP is set up not to display MI, BizX displays correctly except for under Company Info -> Directory, employees' MI is still showing. Is there a way to hide MI completely from users?
    5. We have experienced some User Connector issues, i.e. BizX and LMS are not always in sync, employees can be found in BizX but not always showing up in LMS. Does anyone have any tip or know the root cause for this issue?
    6. Lastly, is it true you are not able to delete records EVER in SF? Even if the record was created by error and no learning history attached?
Thank you so much in advance. Any feedback is highly appreciated!!
    Vera

    Hi Vera,
What version and Support Package of the add-on are using?
    1. These are some of my recommendations:
Manager field: we are using A002, if no value use B012, if no value use one up manager (by using one up manager, would this cause any issues?) >For this you need to ensure if there is no manager that the value is NO_MANAGER
Time zone will be defaulted based on the employee's SAP ID (has anyone experienced issues with Timezone? especially for companies in Australia?) >You need to ensure you have the exact correct Timezone text - ask your implementation partner for the text
Hire Date: is it true Hire Date must be in US format? When default locale is Eng_GB and timezone is Australia? >All date formats must be in US format (MM/DD/YYYY)
Default Locale: we hard coded to "Eng_GB" >It should be "EN_GB", not "Eng_GB"
    2. You can do this with a report variant, but you'll need to ensure that users can be identified by the available criteria.
    3. The WebDynpro is only for the Compensation process integration. I would post this specific question in the SAP NetWeaver Technical Integration with ERP
    6. This is not true. You can use the Purge Data option.
Regarding questions 4 and 5, I need to put my SCN moderator hat on. Please can you create new posts as they are not related to integration and it is best practice to keep one topic to one post.
    Best regards,
    Luke

  • SAP Technical roles and IDM Business roles mapping

    Hi Guys
Just wondering if there is an easy way to export SAP Positions and create them automatically as Business Roles in IDM and the SAP technical roles that are related to that corresponding position into privledges assigned to that Business Role. Or am I going about this the wrong way? What do you normally do in terms of getting all your sap technical roles from the sap system and assigning them to business roles in IDM. Any help on this is much appreciated?
    Cheers
    Leo

    Thanks Matt,
I think get I the picture now
One thing that I am still not sure about is how the sap abap technical roles or profiles are provisioned through workflow
Here is what Ive done so far
    1. HCM data loaded into productive identity store via vds
    2. Did an initial load of the abap system into the productive identity store (now the technical roles and profiles are loaded as privileges in the idstore)
    3. Through workflow I select a user that already has an abap account and assign that user some additional sap technical roles, for e.g. sap_all and sap_new. The corresponding privileges for these roles are namely PRIV:PROFILE:ECX:SAP_ALL and PRIV:PROFILE:ECX:SAP_NEW .
    4. For the provisioning to occur so that these new privileges are reflected in the ABAP system for this user, I have used the setABAPRole&ProfileForUser task from sap provisioning framework folder and set it as the add/mod/del  event task for the MXREF_MX_PRIVILEGE attribute. That way whenever a privilege is added to a user account the setABAPRole&ProfileForUser task will run and the sap_all and sap_new profiles will be added in the backend. This way I can avoid setting a provisioning task for each abap privilege that gets loaded.
But it should be obvious now that there is a flaw with this kind of setup, because all non abap privileges that get added or removed will trigger the setABAPRole&ProfileForUser task anyway because the privileges use the same attribute i.e.MXREF_MX_PRIVILEGE. So it brings me to the question how do you provision abap technical roles or profiles through workflow without setting a provisioning task for each abap related privilege.
Thanks again for all your help!

  • How does BPP (business process platform ) impacts SOA practice in SAP

    hello All,
what is you take on impact of  BPP on SOA  practice in SAP .

    Theo,
Like Ravi says: SAP positions Aris for all bp modelling  activities and the underlying applications for all bp execution activities.
You only mention CAF and XI as types of these underlying applications but you do not mention "normal" applications like SAP R/3 (which handles human workflow by "NetWeaver workflow"). I think NetWeaver workflow (bp execution) will be managed from Aris in the future as well (bp modelling). This also answers you second question: workflow on the purchase process in R/3 is managed by NetWeaver workflow on R/3 (execution level). You don't need a CAF development for that.
The link between CAF guided procedures and NetWeaver workflow in an integrated business process / scenario is handled by XI-BPM.
    1. If you want to support a business proces or scenario by application logic, I think you first look at the functionality of (a) existing application(s), if necessary linked together by XI-BPM. If existing applications do not gather the right information you jump to CAF (picking up running services via XI-BPM).
    2. NetWeaver workflow (see before).
    3. I think you miss NetWeaver workflow here and BI for Business Activity Monitoring. BAM is a coop by Aris and BI in the future I think.
Just some thought. What do you think?
    Regards, Rik

  • SAP CAL Solutions on MS Azure

When can we expect to see solutions on CAL that can be deployed to Azure. At this stage I only see the HANA Developers Edition.
    Regards,
    Paul

    Hi Paul,
we are enabling the SAP Cloud Appliance Library content on Azure step by step. Our current planning is to make the SAP NetWeaver 7.4 on HANA Developer Edition available within the next weeks.
The availability of the entire list of appliances from SAP Cloud Appliance Library on Azure depends on the official certification of the Azure platform from SAP. This certification is still ongoing as of today. More information on the status might be found in this SCN document: Support of SAP Applications, Operating Systems, and Databases in Public Cloud (IaaS) Environments
    Hope that helps,

  • 0HRPOSITION master data issue when position is delimited

We are live with BW HR application and having issue with 0HRPOSITION master data. We are extracting data from SAP using 0HRPOSITION_ATTR datasource. I noticed that data is not maintained correctly in master data tables in BW and giving us incorrect results in reporting. Consider below mentioned scenario:
Position A created as vacant on 05/01/2008 with start date (BEGDA/ Valid from) as 05/01/2008 and End date (ENDDA/ Valid to) as 12/31/9999 and is vacant. Below mentioned entry is shown under maintain master data for 0HRPOSITION in BW:
Position Valid To Valid From Position Vacant
    A 04/30/2008 01/01/1000
    A 12/31/9999 05/01/2008 X
Position A is now delimited on 09/15/2009 as its no more required. In SAP, position has record only from 04/01/2006 till 09/20/2009 as vacant. When record is extracted in BW, it creates below mentioned entry in master data table.
Position           Valid To     Valid From     Position Vacant Indicator
        A             04/34/2008    01/01/1000
        A             09/20/2009    05/01/2008                  X
        A             12/31/9999    09/21/2009                  X
Entry 09/21/2009 - 12/31/9999 is incorrect as position does not exist for this duration and it is neither vacant nor occupied. If we report on 0HRPOSTION with key date as 09/30/2009 , it shows position A as vacant though position no longer exists.
Has anyone come across this situation. any help is greatly appreciated.
    Thanks & Regards,

    Hi,
We do a full update data load for 0HRPOSITION attribute as well as text on daily basis. Attribute change run are scheduled in the process chains. No issues with that..
In the report, we have the display option of 0HRPOSITION as key and text. Now what is happening is that for most of the positions the text is displayed perfectly but only for those positions which were delimited the text description is not displayed in the report. It is displayed as blank. For eg consider positions A, B, C and D. Say A, B are active positions and C & D have been delimited at a cerain period of time.
    *Master data table is:*
    Position --  Valid_from --  Valid_to  -- Description -- Org. Unit
    A         --  01.05.2008 -- 31.12.9999-- Text1   --- A001
    B         --  01.06.2009 -- 31.12.9999 -- Text2   --- B001
    C         --  01.06.2009 -- 01.08.2009 --- Text3 --- C001
    C         --  02.08.2009 -- 31.12.9999 --  ........   --- ....
    D         --  01.07.2008 -- 15.06.2009 -- Text 4  ---  D001
    D         --  16.06.2009 -- 31.12.9999 --  ........  --- ...
In report, say i run for date 01.05.2009 to 31.05.2009,
    Position -
    No. of positions
    Key -
    Text
    A     |  --- Text1  | 1
    B     |  --- Text 2 | 1
    C     |  --- .......... | 1
    D     |  --- .......... |1
If you notice, the description is maintained for positions C & D in time period 01.05 to 31.05 but the text is not displayed in the report.
    Thanks,
