SAP-PP  meaning of "CMMI level-5 company"

pls tell me the meaning of "CMMI level-5 company" in general or wrt company
thank you

Hi,
Any company which has been started new comes under CMMiLevel1 which says that they are not using any documents or following any processes.
CMMi - means Capability Maturity Model integrated.
Actually this certification is given by the Software Engineering Institute by USA.
We can get certified by 2 ways
1) Continous
2) Staged.
In continous, the people will evaluate the company in all the aspects. Quality, Customer report, document management, HR Management etc.
When we go for staged, the certification is given only for one area. If you want to get certified for Quality you can only for that. That's what we call it as Staged.
Totally there are 5 levels in certification. In CMM level 5 - 22 areas are there. In CMMi, there are 25 areas. If you want to be certified as CMM or CMMi level company, then you have documents specified in 22 or 25 areas. CMMi is newly introduced. So most of the companies will have CMM certification only and not the CMMi. Only few companies at present are CMMi level.
Hope it gives you an idea.
Thanks,
Ashok

  • Interview questions from CMM Level 5 company (Not IBM)

    Dear SAP Gurus,
Recently I attended one interview with CMM level 5 company. Here are some of the questions put forth to me, which I want some inputs / clarify from you gurus.
Following are some of the questions:
    1. What all the activities carried out in the realizations stage of implementations?
    2. What is the difference between movement type 102, 122 and 161?
    3. Is Tcode OBYC is involved in MIRO transaction? if Yes, what/where are all the impacts.
    4. Can we interchange condition type PB00 and PBXX in PO?. I mean to say PB00 price comes from info record price maintenence and PBXX is manual feed, if PB00 is not maintained then we manually input the price in PBXX.
    5. What is MRP and why it is used? If there are 2 Lakhs of items is it feasiable to run MRP since running of MRP for 2 lakhs of item is time consuming, if yes then how it is been done?
    6. What is WRX transactions keys and why it is required in SAP?
    7. What is the use and role of Purchase group? Is it rquired !

  • Ramifications of setting valuation level to company

    Hello,
Our company is using an actual cost system in our current ERP system that works somewhat like the material ledger in SAP. However, one of our requirements is that we valuate COGS transactions for the month at the actual average material price across all plants. In our current system, we revaluate our inventory in such a way that the the total inventory value of each material in all plants remains unchanged, but the unit price of each material in each plant becomes the average price.
It seems to us that the most obvious way of filling this requirement is to set the "valuation level" to the company code level, However, the documentation recommends against this and says that this will disable the built-in costing functionality. I could not find any details as to what specific functionality that this prevents.
Can anyone tell me what the actual ramifications are for setting the valuation level to company?

There is a feature of special procurement key which can be set for material in a given plant. This will refer another plant for fetching the material price. One manufacturing plant can calculate the price. This can be made the single plant that determine the material price. The other plants can have their material refering to the master plant through special procurement key.
This way you can  address the consistency of material price across plants.
When you have valuation at plant level, it gives more operating efficiency for period end closing, costing runs etc without diversified load on the system. With company code level of valuation, significant disadvantages include lack of flexibility. Additionally, SAP advises that you should define the valuation area at plant level if: you wish to use the application component PP or product costing and order costing, which is essential for managing production.

    Hi,
    Client Level
The client is the highest level in the SAP System hierarchy. Data stored at client level can be accessed by all company code in the system.
    Company Code Level
The company code is the central organizational unit of external accounting within the SAP System. Data stored or created at company code level can be used with in company code.
    Customer Master Data
Customer Master data is divided into three parts:-
    Client Level
    Company Code Level
    Sales Area Level
    For Example:-
Customer Master created at client level like address data can be used by all company code. If customer A master data has been maintained at client level than company code ABCD and company code EFGH can extent customer at company code level and use customer for FI posting. Again if you want to use customer for SD than you need to extent it in SD area.
So, you can say that Master record created at client level can be used by all company code across the system.

  • How identify the data is client level, plant level or company code level

    Dear sirs,
    GM
How identify the data is client level, plant level or company code level?
If there is any T.code for same in SAP plz send me otherwise any procedure?
    Hopeeeeeeeeee....

    Hi,
Once you gain experience, you will not look at any table any field or any view...You will do it just like how you use keyboard once you pass type writing....
That is why every area of work, including master data is handed over to specialized teams...that will be their work day in and out....for some one newly entering, it will be little bit tough...once you practice, you will not be worried any more.  Of course, basic data at client level, purchasing data plant level etc...some thumb rules are there...still, you will take big blow by following such thumb rules because if you verify storage condition assigned in the storage location is not storage location level!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
that is experience!!  In this forum, it is good to practice rewarding...else, there may not be any more replies
    Good Luck

  • How to Schedule SAP background job at OS Level

    Hi All,
Can Anyone tell me how to Schedule SAP background job at OS Level (unix).
    Regards,
    Anil

    Hi Anil,
I donu2019t know your requirements, anyway itu2019s possible to setup your SAP job in order to start after an event, and after that you can get the event triggered from the Operating System in the following way:
    - log into you Operating System with the SIDadm user id (at the Operating System level) and go to directory /usr/sap/SID/SYS/exe/run
    - Run the SAPEVT executable as follows:
    sapevt YOUR_EVENT -t pf=/usr/sap/SID/SYS/profile/DEV_DVEBMGS00_server001 nr=01
This will raise the event, and cause the job scheduled within SAP to execute.
You can periodically execute this job with crontab.

My Small Business Router has been sending me email messages. This is a RVS-4000 version 1.
I just want to understand what my Router is emailing me or telling me...
The last message I received from my RVS-4000 was:
Oct 30 13:44:09 - IPSEC EVENT: KLIPS device ipsec0 shut down.
IPSEC EVENT sounds important. Whatever it is... And what is a KLIPS device ipsec0 shutdown????
I have Log Levels 0-3 selected...
    Log Level
Setting which level log Router should recorder. Level from 0 ~ 7 means:
    0: LOG_EMERG(system is unusable)
1: LOG_ALERT(action must be taken immediately)
    2: LOG_CRIT(critical conditions)
    3: LOG_ERR(error conditions)
    4: LOG_WARNING(warning conditions)
    5: LOG_NOTICE(normal, but significant, condition)
    6: LOG_INFO(informational message)
    7: LOG_DEBUG(debug-level message)
So, when I get any messages... I'm a little concerned. Because the RVS-4000 thinks it's an Error or better.
What I would like from Cisco is the meaning of all level 3 or lower email messages my Router can send to me. So, that I can take the appropriate actions.
I know Cisco inhered these Small Business Routers. When they bought Linksys. However, they have not discontinued them totally and they are still for sale. And Cisco has released a new version 2 of the same Router. So I believe Cisco should support them as well.
Yes, I'm a pain to Cisco. However, I think you understand I'm being scared by my Routers messages to me... And would like some relief.

Great suggestions. Problems is this is not the forum for your "wish list" as Apple does not read these USER forums.

  • Valuation at plant level and company code level

    Hi,
Can someone explain me the difference between the valuation at plant level and company code level with a real world example?
    Regards,
    Malsha Kalubowila

    Hi,
Inventory can be valuated at two levels either at company code level or at plant level. If you select valuation at company code level, all materials across all the plants will have same material price since valuation is at only company code level.
Say for example Company code 1000 is buying a material which unit price is Rs. 10 from a vendor who supplies to two different plant A & B of company code 1000.  Assume Plant A is situated near vendor premises itself (so freight cost is Re 1 extra)  whereas plant B is situated at far away from vendor place (so freight cost rs 2 extra) and both cases freight cost is borne by the company and not by vendor.
Assuming you have selected valuation at plant level, now in plant A same material will be valauted at Rs. 11 (10 +1) whereas at plant B it is valuated at Rs. 12 (10+2).
Whereas if you have selected valuation at company code level, price will not be valuated at plant level rather at company code level which will get updated at moving average price in this case.
So it is always best practice to select valuation at plant level rather than at company code level.

We create cost center in CO under controlling area. [In cost center master there is one filed company, its not mandatory.]
