Hi, I'm Josephine and I almost have the same scenario as this problem reported earlier but it's just that we are using SAP Netweaver 04 SR1.
However, I'm installing additional SAP Application server to our existing one.
Our existing main server is in MS cluster. SAPPRD1 (DB Server in node A) and SAPPRD2 (SAP App Server in node B).  System ID is PRD and the CI Instance number is 00. The hostname where the USR folder is SAPPRD (hostname in the cluster environment but this is the SAPPRD2 server in node B).
Now I'm installing additional SAP App server into a new host (SAPPRD3 & SAPPRD4) they are all in the same domain.
But I would like to install the 2nd and 3rd SAP App server in a local host.
While installing there was an error "Output: Service not started" the process "Create or reregister services" during the installation stopped.
I used the installer under the folder InstMaster\IM01_NT_I386\SAPINST\NT\I386\sapinst.exe and run the Dialog Instance under the SAP Netweaver\ABAP System\MS SQL Server\Unicode\.
This is the part of the sapinst log where the error starts:

    Hi,
Some memory parameter must have been changed, which results ERROR_NO_SYSTEM_RESOURCES Messages.
Backup the current DI Instance profile and rename old version of DI Profile (which is having .BAK extension).
Check the "TIME STAMP" when DI instance was working fine to select the backup version of the profile.
Then try again to start the DI Instance and post the log again.
Later you can analyse the system load and tune the parameters accordingly...
If requred, increase the Physical Memory.
    Regards.

  • Dispatcher is in Yellow color after Kernel Upgrade.

    Hello Experts,
I have Problem with the Dispatcher ie,. after Upgrading Kernel in ECC6.0  the Dispatcher is in Yellow color and there is no Information about Dialog Workprocess. Could any one Please help me with the Good solution to Fix this Problem and Make the Dispatcher  from Yellow to Green.
    Regards,
    Pavan.

If you have upgraded the kernel and restart the system, the first thing what is happening is, that the executables are replicated from the stage directory (..\sys\exe\uc\ntamd64) to the executable directory of the instance (...\DVEBMGS00\exe).
The replication is initiated with the old service executable (sapstartsrv.exe), the kerne starting after the replication is the new one.
Now it happened that the shared memory segments containing the internal ABAP Server information (kind of work processes, queue information....) is created by the new kernel and will be red with the old Service executable (which provides this information to MMC). If the size or structure of the shared memory segment has changed between the two versions the service can't interpret the internal information and therefor the color of the instance keeps yellow, when looking at the status immediately..
Within 5 Minutes after the system was started with a new kernel the service will restart itself without restarting the system. After this restart the color should automatically switch to green (because the service running has the same version than disp+work)..
    regards
    Peter

  • Remote Start SAP DI instance from CI

How to start SAP dispatch instance from central instance?
There is a known bug that whenever database restarted, the DI instance will lost database connection, if no user is connected. This is causing background job to miss the schedule.
I'm thinking to restart DI instance whenever DB is started up by changing the DB startup script

    Hi John:
Let me see if I understood, you are actually stopping the Central Instance without first stopping the Dialog Instance (application server)?
If the answer is YES; you should always stop your DI first.
    Hope this helps!

    Federico

Could you please tell me,  how to log in to the new installed SAP ABAP instance and do the post installation?
    Regards,
    Madhavan K

    Hi,
Check the list of post installation steps:
    http://www.saptechies.com/post-installation-steps-for-ecc-60/
From my point of view basic post installation steps are:
    - Installing SAP License (from http://service.sap.com/licensekeys)
    - Setup TMS  (STMS)
    - Import profiles (RZ10)
    - Client Copy (SCC*)
    - Create users (SU01)
However further many steps are required as per your requirements. Cehck the link for more detailed steps.

  • Difference btw: Distributed, High-Availability and Additional SAP System Instances

    Hello,
In the installation Doc for NW 741, there is 3 other installations scenarios beside the single instance, can you pl. highlight the difference?
    Cheers,
    F

    Hello Fouad,
    Distributed landscape:
In distributed landscape, every instance can run on a separate host
    - Central services instance for ABAP ( ASCS)
    -  Enqueue replication server instance (ERS instance ) for ASCS instance
    - Database instance
    - Primary application server instance (PAS)
    High availability :
In high availability ,all above instances can run on seperate host. Here you can run all instance in switchover cluster infrastructure. That means ,for any instance if one node in cluster fails ,it switch over to other other node and still operations can run without any distrubance.
    Additional SAP instance:
Additional SAP aaplication instance can be installed to scale the performance of an SAP system. It can be installed on one of the above instance host or on differnt host.
The term "additional application server instance "was introduced to replace term dialog instance from SAP Netweaver 7.1 and higher.
For more and detailed information ,you can refer to Installation guide for the SAP release you are planning to install and for DB/OS combination.
    Hope this helps.

    Hi Rolland,
As you told is right, there was a problem in the password,
we changed that password and we have tested the DB connection in db59, this was ok. and we ran the command user_sap SAPLCA,<password>
    this was ok.
After the registration has been succefully from LC10 ..
    Thanks for your inputs,
    Mahesh Chedde

  • SAP Central Instance Health check

    Hello all,
We have ECC6.0 running on Oracle 10.2.0.2 on SLES10 SP2. We are using Oracle clusterware(11g release 1) and the database is stand-alone. In other words we are using active/passive cluster.
    Our requirment is as follows:
We need to create a Linux script that checks if the SAP Central Instance is up or not. If it is not up, then we need to start it. We will then create an Oracle clusterware application resource based on this script. My question is there any SAP binary/utility that checks the status of the Central Instance?
    Thanks,
    Shilpa

    dpmon pf=/sapmnt/<SID>/profile/<CI_profile> -p  | grep alive
and you can also use below command to check whether your message server is up or not.

visited links stopped changing color suddenly

Well, I'm a mixed bag. After wasting time and missing the point earlier, thinking that this was about the Google app, today I finally suss to the fact that the discussion's a tually about in fhe browser ...
Anyway, I take a look and, sure enough, the first one I try does pop into a violet color when returning to the results page. I thought it distinct enough to easily notice, and couldn't remember seeing it before (use the app most of the time).
Unfortunately, that was rthe one and only time I saw that happen over the next ten minutes of running searches on multiple topics. All subsequent cycles showed the exacrt same shade of blue on return, and this includes tests run in the middle of and following such steps as clearing the app (cache, cookies history), force quitting the app, and restarting the iPad.
Nothing made any difference. That first time was the one and only time, so far, that I saw the color change.
Also tried a Reset. No change. I guess if it's really supposed to work then a Restore might do it but .... I think not.

  • Yellow colors look dull on export, driving me crazy, need help

When I export a photo from lightroom to JPEG with a sRGB color space I see huge differences in mainly the yellow colors.
The sRGB photo has washed out yellows which is a huge difference to the develop version.
I have a very basic understanding of color management and Lightroom and understand the theory of color spaces and that there will always be differences in color because of the conversion from Lightroom (Prophoto with sRGB tonecurve) to sRGB.
But what I dont understand is that my yellows in the exported sRGB colorspace look far more washed out and ugly then similair photos I find on the net. (which are also in sRGB color space)
Take for example the picture below, which has rich yellow colors in my browser (Firefox4):
    - http://www.flickr.com/photos/druclimb/459126182/sizes/z/in/photostream/
If I compare that to my exported picture (with very high saturated colors in lightroom) I see a huge difference in the yellow color:
What is confusing for me is that when I open the Flickr pictures locally in Photosop I see that the yellow get washed out there aswell (probably because PS is color managed).
So I thought maybe it is the webbrowser  (Firefox 4) which wrongly displays the photos, but then again, why do my photos look so washed out in Firefox4 and the other sRGB flickr pictures not, they also have a sRGB profile... (Firefox4 should be color managed.)
In no way I can replicate those strong yellow colors using Lightroom on export. (IN Lightroom they look just fine)
    - My display is color calibrated using a spyder3 pro.(I don't have a wide gamut lcd)
-I am using Lightroom 3.3 for editing and using export from RAW to full JPEG in sRGB color space.

So that explains why the images with no tags look different, Firefox does not apply a color management for them, and my monitor profile is giving me stronger yellows.
This would imply that the icc profile gets stripped somewhere. That is not normal. Lightroom ALWAYS includes an icc profile on export. Are you using an export action somewhere in the chain perhaps? Or are you routing through Photoshop and doing a "save for web" with the icc option unchecked? Flickr does not strip the icc profile, so it should be getting stripped somewhere on your end. I'd second the recommendation to upload an original here somewhere.
The ICC profile is present at my export from Lightroom, I was referring to the Flickr examples (not my images).
Since they seem to have no ICC profile it explains the difference in color between Firefox and viewed in Photoshop.  I (wrongly) compared my images to those pictures because I was thinking they had stronger yellows AND a sRGB profile.

Probably on your monitor, the string yellow you are targeting is already
out of monitor gamut even in sRGB space. You can check this by
exporting your image to sRGB, opening it up in Photoshop (should look
the same as in Lightroom) and soft proofing with gamut warning for your
monitor profile. To do this go into the view menu, select Proof setup
and select custom. Select your monitor profile in "device to simulate"
and make sure "preserve RGB Numbers" is unchecked. Hit OK and then in
the View menu select "Gamut warning". Your yellow area will likely turn
grey meaning that the color is outside your monitor gamut but inside
sRGB. Repeat this with a adobeRGB or ppRGB export. It is unfortunate
that Lightroom doesn't have any native softproofing yet as that would
allow you to softproof for different color spaces in the app itself
instead of having to go to Photoshop.
I tried the soft proofing with gamut warning, there is no warning for the yellow colors when using my monitor profile. (only in the dark green parts)
The option "preserve RGB Numbers" deselected gave me the same image as soft proofing disabled. But enabling the very same option caused it to display the exact strong yellow as I see in Lightroom. What does this mean??
Secondly I compared my display profile to the sRGB profile gamut in a  trial of Gamutvision, the profile from Spyder3 seems to be larger yellow/red side:
(wireframe is monitor profile, solid is sRGB)
Does this mean that my calibration is not correctly done, or is my screen indeed better in the display of yellows/reds (which I highly doubt..)

I would check the settings on the monitor and make sure you have none of
the autoadjusting or "Magic" options turned on. Recalibrate if it turns
    out you do.
I checked all my menu options, all settings should be on default, my RGB values are 50, 50, 50.

I use Exiftool together with ExiftoolGUI to analyze metadata in images. You can also use Jeffrey Friedls EXIF viewer web GUI to achieve similar analysis.
Thanks, I was looking for a tool like that!

To look at your issue a little close, could you upload an original problem image and its exported sRGB version to the web somewhere (i.e. www.yousendit.com) and post a link to it here? Export the original as DNG so we can have a look at the "real thing".
Here is the original image (DNG) and exported JPEG with sRGB profile (17,3MB):
    http://rapidshare.com/#!download|79l3|456640762|_MG_8329.zip|17352
What I see in Lightroom develop compared to the JPEG in Photoshop/Lightroom:
Reds and greens are the same.
The yellow tulip is more saturated in the original image, and washed out in the JPEG.
Exporting the image as Protophoto RGB or Adobe RGB gives me back the stronger yellow in the JPEG
Exporting the image and opening in Photoshop with soft proofing to my monitor profile (preserve RGB number ON) gives me back the stronger yellow.
