SAP Printing Issue (Windows Platform)

Dear All,
Our sap environment largly depends on printing. Basically 2 type of printing method used which is L & S type. L type dose not give much issue but S type always gives us Issue.
Server properties:
Win2003 Std Edition (32 bit)
Proc: Intel Xeon 3Ghz
RAM : 1.5GB
SAPSprint: This is SAPSprint Version 7, 1, 0, 0.1, 0, 2, 3 for Windows (32Bit)
Frequent encountered issues:
SAPSprint down (crashes, services down)
Question:
Is there any way we can troubleshoot or trace root cause of this issue?
Any way to find out why sapsprint goes down?
Thanks in Advance.

Hi,
Have you checked Note 946209 - Analyzing SAPSprint problems ?
Cheers....,
Raghu

We are waiting for an urgent suggestion.

  • Adobe Acrobat Reader 10.1.2 Print Issues - Windows Crash Error (2 Sided)

Have recently had issueswith our upgrades from 10.1.1 to 10.1.2 in regards to the following:
When printing 2 sided on a Fuji Xerox Firefly C4400 Atheros, application crashes after printing first 4 pages.
Thus, have tried the patch fix that was recommended on cpsid_92870 however this has not fixed the problem.
Have also tried the solution with the duplexing but still same issue, Windows crashes.
Have also tried solution to remove Windows patch KB4332667 and still same issue.
Screen shots will be provided upon request with the errors.
    Currently running:
    Windows XP SP3
    Adobe Acrobat Reader 10.1.2
Printer Drivers are the latest and over 500 users on network. 485 are working on 10.1.1 which do not have this issue.
Is there any solution or 10.1.3 patch release that will address this issue?
Last Adobe user to work on this was Atul.

Sonal2890, thanks for your inquiry and I will try to provide as much information as possible.
    1. What happens if inspite of using 'Print on both sides', you check Duplex setting from Properties dialog (As you do previously)?
The Adobe Reader X Shuts down and is unable to print and displays a message stating it has incurred a problem. Please note, we are running IE7.
    2. What happens if you print with any other application (Word/notepad)
The documents print fine. IT is only when you print this particular document which is enabled in protected mode and double sided. Have tried the patch and the resolution of unticking the duplex methodology and the issue still persists.
Crash Logs have already been submitted already. Have added the SEnd Error Report that was provided when the error occurs. The PDF stopped printing after page 6 of a 236 page document and provided the error above.

  • Bonjour Weird Printing Issue Windows

I have windows xp ruuning inside of parallels on a powerbook. I'm Running bonjour on the windows side so I can print to my lexmark printer which is hooked up to my G4 desktop via USB.
When I print from my laptop wirlessly from my laptop on the mac side...no problem. When I print from windows side, it talks to the printer ( the lights come on) but nothing prints. Here's the weird part. If I open text editor on the mac side ( you can switch back and forth between mac and windows) and print some basic text, the printer works, then if I immediately try and print a word document from within windows it prints ?
Any ideas ? Is it a port issue > firewall ? Am I opening a port long enough to print through ? Can I fix this ?
This is a workaround, but not veru user friendly.

    Hi,
Could you please send the test document to shilpi at adobe dot com for us to investigate the issue at our end?
    Thanks,

  • SAP printer issue using output method store in windows

    Hi,
    Here is my issue:
I created a printer in SAP in t-code SPAD.  The host spool access method is C, direct operating system call. The host printer (windows printer) has an output method «store», which means that the printing request is stored in the printer and the user needs to release the printing job directly on the printer using a password.
If we use printer LOCL_LOCAL, this works correctly, i.e. the printing job is sent in the printer memory and the user release it with his password
If we use a printer with an access method C, the printing job bypass the output method store and the job is printed immediately.
Any idea why the acces method C is not working for output method «store» in Windows?
    Thanks,
    Julien

ideally it should work if the spool work process of the SAP System and the host spool system (operating system spooler) are on the same host. is this the case?

  • Sap  printer issue

    hi experts
i am facing a problem,i am in IS-U ELECTRIC company having mass billing scenario.we r having 5 printer's which will print bulk of bill's every month.the problem is when we give print on 1 printer  in a lot (of 2000 bills) then the whole printer on the networks(sap configured printer) get stucked, and if another user want to get print from another printer he will only get those print after the completion of previous spool.so is  it a configuration issue against printer setting in BASIS? plz help me out in this it's urgent issue.
    gaurav

Gaurav, how many spool work process's do you have?
It sounds as though the process's you do have are getting flooded & you could benefit from a few more in the system.
Look in SM50 for processes called 'SPO' these are SAP's spooler/printing processes. By default there will be just 1. You can increase the number of these by changing the instance profile parameter "rdisp/wp_no_spo" via RZ10. You will need to restart the instance for the change to take effect.
I currently look after a 4.7 System that has high printing requirements & is running comfortably with 5 spool work process's.
    Hope that helps

  • SAP printing issue

    Hi all,
One of my users is facing issues printing from SAP using frontend printing method.
when the user triggers the print from SAP the printer only prints the header for the sheet.
All other users using the same output device are able to print properly.
I have used both the access methods F and G.
When the same user tries to print from her colleagues machine same issue persists.
Please provide ur advise for the issue.
Let me know if you need any more information.
    Regards
    Raj

The output attributes can be changed when you actually print a job. What happens though is if a particular user has defined a default printer in their profile the options are sometimes not shown depending on the circumstances.
Check if this user has a default printer setup in their profile and remove it. When you now print from the user it will popup with a dialog where you can specify the output device, select the output device and choose properties. You should now be able to check or change attributes and other options for that particular output device. Check specifically the option 'Do not append print jobs'.

  • Smart form printing issue with LOCL printer and SAP printer

    Hi,
    The issues are as follows:
    1. the top portion of the Invoice and PO does not print when using the SAP printer (works when using LOCL)
    2. the shaded areas of the Order Confirmation and Invoice are black when printing to a SAP printer (works when using LOCL)
In an attempt to correct the printing issue is was suggested that we change the SAP printer device type from HPLJ4 to POST2. This did address the problem where the shaded areas were black but then we received reports that other reports printed "garbage". Its possible that using POST2 device type causes issues when printing to HP compatible printers.
Apparently all the testing was done using the SAP printer LOCL and not the SAP printer name and SAP spool system. LOCL uses the SAP GUI and Windows system to produce the output. Our production users at the plant site and Toledo are using SAP defined printers with the device type of HPLJ4. HPLJ4 is our standard here as OC for our printer definitions and we have HP compatible printers installed in our Toledo location and all of our remote sites. We need to be able to correctly print the Invoices, Purchase Orders, Sales Order Confirmations on our SAP printers.
What can be done to the reports to allow them to print on our HPLJ4?
    Thanks,
    Babu

    Hi Prathap,
Check the background shading of the windows of the Smartform where you get the black boxes. If it is set something like this:
    Color: White
    Saturation: 100%
    this can be the problem.
I know it is strange but some black and white printers cannot handle this setting. They only know one color black so the ignore the color setting and just take the saturation 100% setting.
The reason it works with local and device type SAPWIN is that the print data is created in Windows and sent to the printer as graphic.
Please change the shading for window MAIN -> tab 'Output Options' to:
    Color: Black
    Saturation: 0%
and this should resolve the problem.
Then create a new spool and check if the problem is resolved. See SAP Note #400050.

  • //SAP is shared in window Platform

    Hi All,
Could anyone please let me know that why the SAP folder is shared in window platform.
I am talking about /USR/SAP, in this SAP is shared to all the user in server.
And i have unshared it as per the security policy, and from 1 month i have not found any issue in the system.
Hence, could any one please confirm why by default this folder is shared.
    Thanks in advance.
    Best Regards,
    Prashant Dubey

    > Could anyone please let me know that why the SAP folder is shared in window platform.
Because all tools use UNC paths (like
server\share) to access the tools and not drive letters.
Additionally, that is needed for the transport system and also if you have several application servers that share the same kernel.
    > And i have unshared it as per the security policy, and from 1 month i have not found any issue in the system.
You may run into problems later (upgrades etc.)
    > Hence, could any one please confirm why by default this folder is shared.
This topic is covered in the installation guide.

  • Printing Issues with HP OfficeJet 100 and Windows 8.1

We use HP OfficeJet 100 mobile printers and have a printing issue. When we print the printer acts as if it is going to print and then prints one blank page.Printer will not print even though it is showing as default printer.Printer will just stop printing in the middle of a document, even in the middle of printing out a page. We are printing via the USB cableWe are using Windows 8.1We are connecting to laptopsWe have been using the HP mobile range of printers since 2004 and have only experienced these issues since we moved the laptops onto Windows 8/8.1 We have:Uninstalled and reinstalled the printer drivers – this fixed this issue for a short while and then it reappeared againCalled HP support and they directed us to the driver support page which had the latest print drivers, uninstalled and reinstalled drivers with them on the phone. This initially fixed the problem and then it returned a few days laterAfter trawling the support forums found directions to change the print processor to “WinPrint” – No effect as the processor was already on this settingDownloaded the HP diagnostic tool – HP Print and Scan Doctor – didn’t fix anything Any further help would be much appreciated.

Hello there Lawrence, Welcome to the Forums! I hope you enjoy your experience
I noticed your post about the troubles you are running into when you attempt to install your OJ 6100 printer on your Windows 8.1 laptop. I read all of your attempts and seen you have tried several methods to try and get the installation to complete successfully.
I would like to make some suggestions that may help. Let me know how it goes!
    1. Check that Internet Explorer pop-up blockers are turned off before downloading the installer
Internet Explorer Pop-up Blocker: How do I turn off Pop-up Blocker?
    Try to install
    2. If you're running McAfee Live Safe or any other firewall, please temporarily disable the "real time scanning".
    How to disable realtime scans
    Try the install
    3. Go to the start screen (you may also press the windows key + R to open the run box) and type %WINDIR% this should show the windows folder.
Click on the folder and scroll until you see files. Look for a filed named "HPWINS*.DAT" (the * is for a number that varies) remove this file and try the installation.
    Try the install

  • HP OfficeJet 2544 Windows 8.1 Printing Issue

    Hi there,
I am having a frustrating problem with my HP OfficeJet 2544.  It happens all the time if I want to print anything more than one or two pages, and it only happens to me on my Desktop PC (i.e. my wife's laptop doesn't experience the issue).
What is happening is this:  I send a document (multiple pages) to the printer, and then after the first page or so, I get a Windows 8 error message popping up saying the document couldn't print.  The printer then spits out whichever page it is currently printing, usually half printed.  If I want to print a multi page document, I have to print it one page at a time.  I can't even send it to the printer in groups of 2 or 3 pages!
The printer is connected wirelessly, but I don't think it is a wireless issue.  We have good strong signal in our house, and in any case, if it was a wireless connection issue my wife would have the same issue, which she does not.
I thought there was some bug in my Windows 8.1 installation, so I did a clean reinstall.  This did not fix the issue.  I have also tried reinstalling the drivers (did not work either) and clearing out the Print Spooler folder (again, no luck).
The only thing I can think of is that a while back the HP Update program said there was a Firmware update for the printer, which I installed.  But if this was the problem, I imagine it would be affecting my wife's Laptop too?
I am getting fed up with the issue, and as I am doing a part-time degree I have to print multi-page documents from time to time!  Does anyone have any ideas?

    Hello @SamuelH82
I have some ideas that come to mind when I read through your post about the printing issues you have solely from your computer, as the other computer works find with the printer.
The printer hardware proves to test out alright, as the other computer does function fine with it.
I would suggest first running the Print and Scan Doctor. This diagnostic tool will check for any conflicts that could be causing the issue. The tool will show you a report at the end. If there was a problem that the tool could not fix, you will notice it in the results. This alone could help fix the problem.
Also, try printing from other programs. Do they all appear to have the same problem?
Disable any firewalls and anti-virus' temporarily. Try printing again to see if that helped.
How far is the printer from your computer, and what are in between them that could cause interference? Having the computer and printer too close could cause disconnections.
Let me know the results thus far and your findings.
Enjoy the rest of your day
