- Can we install database , application and search index on same machine ?
Yes
- OS is windows (2003, 2008, Win 7, Vista or XP ???), Is RWD only supported on 32 bit windows with IA processor or any processor ?
64 bit can also be supported but Ancile programs are written for 32 bit. it can work with 64 but still on 32 bit mode.
- Where can I find the installation document or all the prerequistes ?
after extracting the packages downloaded from SMP, you will get the administration guide, which includes the installation guide.
- Which database is preferable SQL, oracle or DB2 , currently we have SAP system on DB2
emmm... SQL is simple to use. xxx doesn't like oracle. no idea for DB2....
- Do we need to integrate the RWD with all SAP system landscapes ?
If you want to use Help LaunchPad for All  the SAP systems, you will need to import the HLP addon to each of the system (ABAP side).
- Also suggest the hardware requirement (RAMprocessorhard disk space) if 1 server installation is possible for all the req (Search Server + Database Server + Web Application Server + Administrator Workbench)
Not much idea for sizing. depends on the workload...

  • Where to find Installation Guide for SAP Productivity Pak 4.3

We are in the process of installing Productivity Pak 4.3 for a new client. There is no installation guide for 4.3 in English. When I go to the link for the 4.1 installation guide, it is no longer available through that link.
Can anyone point me to the installation guide in English?
    Thanks in advance,

  • How to identify whether a TCode is for SAP query or for a customized TCode

    Hi,
We have a list of TCodes starting with Y_*
Some of these TCodes could be related to SAP Queries and some could be real custom transactions. How do I find out which one of those are related to SAP queries and which ones are related to custom SAP transactions?
I have already checked table TSTC for the program names of these Transactions, but the program name field (PGMNA) is blank. Also in TCode SE93 the transaction mentioned is START_REPORT. Also for some, when I go to the transaction (Y_*) and then environment->status to check the program name the values found are something like AQ11FI==========F10A==========.
Please help on how to identify whether a TCode is actually for an SAP query or for a customized transaction.
    Thanks in advance.
    Mick

    Thanks Anil.
In TSTC, the filed for program name is blank. Therefore I would have to go to each and every transaction (I  have around 250 Y_* TCodes with me) and then to environment->status to get the program name and then check whether it is A......
Is there any easier way to know whether a TCode refers to an SAP query or a custom developed transactions/program.

  • Productivity Pak installing issue

    Hi All,
I have to install and configure SAP Productivity Pak by RWD for Solman 7.1.
    OS - AIX 7.1
For this I am following SAP Note 127474,
I have installed the add on ST-SPA on solman.
I am not sure about step 3 of this note
    3. Preparing for the installation
o Install or upgrade to RWD uPerform Server if not yet done
o Install or upgrade to RWD uPerform Client if not yet done
Is this to be done by Basis person ?
    If yes then,
RWD uPerform Server is to be installed separately or on same host where Solman is installed (on AIX Box).
I have downloaded the 51041481 which includes
    ANCILE_uPerform_Server_4.40.0.26.zip
    ANCILE_uPerform_Client_4.40.0.21.zip
Can any one let me know what should be the next step ?
    Regards
    VP

    Hi VP,
The documentation should be in both these zip files.
    ANCILE_uPerform_Server_4.40.0.26.zip
    ANCILE_uPerform_Client_4.40.0.21.zip
For more information on the requirements for integrating SAP Solution Manager and RWD
uPerform, refer to the RWD uPerform Technical Specifications.

  • Productivity Pak - RWD

I'm new to SAP, and we purchased SAP Productivity Pak - RWD.
I'm trying to understand the end user device requirements for this product, and especially if it can run on a WinTerm versus a full blown PC.
Any ideas?      I've seen some technical specs on uperform, but none of them state if it will run on a windows terminal.
Edited by: Bruce McPherson on Apr 25, 2011 11:40 PM

    Hi,
Any ideas? I've seen some technical specs on uperform, but none of them state if it will run on a windows terminal.
You can install SPP on Windows Terminal server. The terminal server can support more concurrent user sessions based on H/W which is the same available feature in all Windows server editions OS.
But, as per the available installation guides, for SAP PRODUCTIVITY PAK 4.*, the recommended OS are WIN XP 2002 PROF. 32-BIT SP3 , Microsoft Windows® Server 2003 SP1, Microsoft Windows® 2000 SP4, or Vista Business SP1 with latest MS IIS & .NET Framework installed.

    Hi Tina,
in the solution composer the icon in front of services says
    o  SAP Product Available
if a service is offered by a third party partner product there is an icon stating
    (P) Partner Product Available (what i have understood from your message)
so the solution composer should be updated for these online campus services.

  • Can sap ps be used for product development  for cost monitoring?

sap-pp is configured but client insisting for product development they want sap-ps ,can sap ps be used for product development  for cost monitoring in textile industry?and how to configure with reference to sap-pp?
    venkatdas vanga

    Hi,
SAP PS has good Integration with PP and FI CO modules. So goes well along the ETO scenario.
The normal process is that Project is created and goes in to design phase , where we design product as per customer's requirement . Design BOM helps in this.Once you design is ready you can generate Production Orders base on MRP generated with reference to Projects.
All the cost including overheads are charged to the Project as actual cost.
These costs are later settled to Cost Center.

  • Uploading Production Requirements For Finished Goods From External System To Run MRP For Components in SAP.

    Hello Production Planning experts,
I'm looking to solve the current business problem:
The company bought a third party software (JD Edwards) to calculate production requirements instead of using SAP's standard Production Planning or a tool like SAP's APO. They run a batch job to query Sales Orders, Deliveries, available stock, stock in transit, etc. from sap and feed/upload it to the third party software so it can calculate the Finished Goods Production Requirements for them. They love the third party software, so replacing it is not an option. Since the third party software is already taking into account Sales Orders, Deliveries, available stock, stock in transit, etc. from SAP, it just outputs a "Finished Goods Production Schedule" by week.
    My questions are:
    1) What's the best way to upload something like that in SAP in the form of Planned Orders or something of that nature?
After i get that schedule in SAP:
    2) Is there any way to calculate components' requirements for that "Finished Goods Production Schedule" alone? The company would like to IGNORE existing stock AND expected-goods-issues in the future (sales orders, deliveries, etc) for Finished Goods ONLY. The components calculations would work the standard MRP way, taking into account existing stock and AND expected-goods-issues in the future (sales orders, deliveries, etc)
I started looking into Master Production Schedule (MPS), but I don't know if that's the right approach since I'm not very familiar with it.
Thanks in Advance! I will gladly reward points for helpful/correct answers.

    Hello Oscar
I suggest you to upload your production plan in the for of "Planned Independent Requirements" using BAPI BAPI_REQUIREMENTS_CREATE. Later, MRP will create planned orders to cover the PIRs.
If you don't want to consider the existing stock of the finished product, you should use the planning strategy 11 to create your PIRs. Take a look on the following link for more details about this planning strategy:
Gross Requirements Planning (11) - Demand Management (PP-MP-DEM) - SAP Library
Here you will find the following information:
The make-to-stock strategy gross requirements planning is particularly useful in mass production environments; it is often combined with repetitive manufacturing. This strategy is particularly useful if you need to produce, regardless of whether you have stock or not. For instance, steel or cement producers might want to use this strategy because they cannot shut down production; a blast furnace or a cement factory must continue to produce, even if this means having to produce to stock.
This strategy is also frequently used if there is a Material Requirements Planning system in a legacy system that needs to be linked to an SAP system which serves as a production execution system. The legacy system calculates a specific production plan, which has to be executed, regardless of the stock situation in the SAP system
It looks like this planning strategy is exactly what you are looking for.

  • Difference between SAP NetWeaver Gateway 2.0 and SAP NetWeaver Gateway productivity accelerator for Microsoft

    Hi Experts ,
Can anyone tell me the difference between SAP NetWeaver Gateway 2.0 and SAP NetWeaver Gateway productivity accelerator for Microsoft ?
    Best Regards,
    SK

SAP  Netweaver Gateway 2.0 is a product for Exposing ERP data as OData for external consumption which is independent of any Microsoft product. Using this you can model OData services and Expose them for light weight consumption. You can use this in use cases where  you just want to consume the OData in some client or so, and you do not want any kind of accelerators to help you in development or in your integration.
GWPAM is an interoperability framework from SAP that leverages SAP NetWeaver Gateway and Microsoft technologies enabling customers and partners to easily and quickly compose solutions that consume and extend SAP throughout Microsoft technologies for on premise and on demand deployment. With GWPAM you get components like
GWPAM Visual Studio Add-On,GWPAM Template,GWPAM Project,GWPAM Outlook Add-In which are very much Microsoft specific.
