  • SAP Query for difference of 2 currency fields

    Hello Experts,
I have created a SAP query in which I need to fetch data from only 1 custom table through "direct read of table" method.
I have also added an additionl field in the query output and the field name is "Difference" (difference between 2 currency fields).
Please help me out in writing the code for this additional field which gives the difference of 2.
Ex: there are 5 fields A, B, C, D and E to be displayed in output of SAP query. I have added additional field X. So please help me out to write the code which gives difference of A and B fields.
    Thanks,
    Tousif

    Hi,
By using t-code SQ02. Use option direct read from table. Then move forward. you have a code option, click on it.
Here you declare your data as same as your report.
On coding section, you get a option of events. use event and move you code forward as per your requirement.

  • Connecting to SAP using JCO: Difference between SAP AS 7.3 & Other Servers

    Hi All,
I am connecting to SAP system using jar sapjco3. I am able to connect to SAP system successfully. But I observed some difference in connection to SAP system between different servers.
    1. Using TOMCAT  6 and JBOSS 5.1
While connection, when I call API from my code -
    JCoDestination  dest = JCoDestinationManager.getDestination(ANY_RANDOM_STRING);
It works successfully and I am able to connect. ANY_RANDOM_STRING is any random RFC destination which is not present in     netweaver administrator -->  Configuration --> Destinations
    2. Using SAP Netweaver AS 7.3
While connection, when I call API from my code -
    JCoDestination  dest = JCoDestinationManager.getDestination(ANY_RANDOM_STRING);
    It fails giving exception as
    com.sap.conn.jco.JCoException: (106) JCO_ERROR_RESOURCE: Destination SAP_SERVER does not exist.
But when I replace ANY_RANDOM_STRING with an RFC destination name present  in  netweaver administrator -->  Configuration --> Destinations, it works successfully.
    So, my questions is
When I give any random string as RFC destination in other servers, it is connecting to SAP and not in SAP AS?
Is RFC destination always necessary for connection? If it is necessary, then why ANY_RANDOM_STRING  is working in other servers and not in SAP  netweaver AS ?
    Thanks & Regards,
    Anup

  • SAP Kernel release - Difference between SM51 and System- Status ?

    Dear SDN colleagues,
I am a ABAP developer, and have been told by our Basis department that our SAP Kernel is 640.
When I check the following, I get different values:
    1) System -> Status : SAP_BASIS is 620
    2) Transaction SM51 -> Release Notes: I see SAP R/3 Kernel              640_REL
Can anyone explain why there is a difference in these informations? (and which is the correct one !)
    Thanks in advance.
    Best regards,
    Jodie

    Hello Jodie,
First of all there is nothing to be "implemented" as per the note.
Additionally the poor basis guy is saying the correct thing. Check this part:
    Solution
The changes are activated with the following patch levels:
    4.6D : 1495
    6.20 : 764
    The paging administration was enhanced.
The error is no longer passed on to other sessions and the trace outputs to determine the error cause have been improved.
The patch levels mentioned are kernel patch levels and have nothing to do with your SAP_BASIS release.Since your kernel is 640 this note is no longer applicable.  In my opinion you need to dig for some other note.
    Regards.
    Ruchit.

  • SAP main category differences

    Hi,
I don't know whether this is the appropriate forum to ask my query?
what is the difference between SAP Netweaver, SAP Business Suite and SAP ECC6.0.
How are they related to each other or disimilar?
By any chance SAP manufacturing and SAP ERP is related to them and their own differences if any one can explain me.
    Thanks in advance.
    Praveen.

    Tutika,
This is not the correct forum for this kind of question. There is a Netweaver forum.
    Definitions:
SAP NetWeaver is SAP's integrated technology platform and is the technical foundation for all SAP applications since the SAP Business Suite. SAP NetWeaver is marketed as a service-oriented application and integration platform. SAP NetWeaver provides the development and runtime environment for SAP applications and can be used for custom development and integration with other applications and systems. SAP NetWeaver is built using open standards and industry de facto standards and can be extended with, and interoperate with, technologies such as Microsoft .NET, Sun Java EE, and IBM WebSphere.
SAP Business Suite is a bundle of business applications that provide integration of information and processes, collaboration, industry-specific functionality, and scalability. SAP Business Suite is based on NetWeaver. CRM, SCM, SRM,
ECC6.0 stands for ERP Central Component which works with SAP ERP, like R/3
    Hope this helps.

  • SAP GUI 720 - difference between Classic, Enjoy and Signature

    Hi experts,
We intend to use the SAP GUI 720 for Finance uers entering journals and using workflow. I have checked out the PC requirements for the GUI and they vary depending on whether you opt for Classic, Enjoy or Signature design.
Can anyone explain what the difference is between these options?
    many thanks
    mike

    Hi Adrian,
the difference is the look and a few option (like setting a different color in the different systems (like different colors for E, Q and P), a focus frame, and so on.
    I googled for some pictures:
    Signature Theme: http://www.sapdesignguild.org/resources/vd_images/revolutions/GUI_Signature_Theme.png
    Enjoy Theme: http://www.sapdesignguild.org/resources/vd_images/revolutions/Win_Enjoy_Tradeshow_Themes_large.png
    Classic Theme: http://support.citrix.com/article/html/images/CTX127399-2.gif
I prefer using the Signature Theme because it is clear and has the focus frame.
    Hope this helped.

  • SAP Development Tools differences?

    Dear all
    I am new to SAP.
I want to learn development tools.
    Why?
    I want to create reports
I want to make new screens inside SAP
I want to make some validation on existing SAP screens
I want to integrate SAP with Other running application
I want to Send data to SAP
I want to get data from SAP
From my reading the tools I found are:
    ABAP
    .Net
    Powerbuilder
May be there are other tools that I don’t know.
I need to know what are the limitation of ever tool in terms of the above points?
    Thanks,

    Hello Ramzy
You're actually approaching this from what I'd say is an incorrect angle. I think the first step is to determine what SAP product you are actually interested in. Then, see if the product has an SDK (not all SAP products have an SDK) and then see what development tool you need to work with the SDK (VS .NET, Java, PB, etc., etc.).
In this case you posted your query to the "NET SDK Application Development in BI Platform" Topic Space. Each SCN Topic Space has an Overview. The Overview in this Space:
As you can see, the products are; SAP BusinessObjects Enterprise, SAP BusinessObjects Edge, and SAP Crystal (Reports) Server. Therefore if you are interested in these products, you would post your queries here as Discussions. If you are interested in other SAP products, you will have to find the correct SCN Space for those. The following document should help you there:

I never work on Primavera if you already work on primavera can you share your view on this?

  • Primavera - SAP Interface/ integration

    Hi,
I Need some information and help related to Primavera - SAP Interface/ integration.
    1. what are the Prerequisites?
    2. How it works - means how data will get transferred from primaver to SAP?
    3. whether this transferr is Direct or some third party tool required. if yes then may know the options?
    4. How much it cost approximate?  any option to transfer data without any third party tool?
    5. any documents if you are having related to this please do send on same Id
    Venkatesh

    Dear Venkatesh,
I had developed and deployed the SAP PS - Primavera Interface in one of my projects. We had developed it using an ABAP program. I hope i answer all your questions to your satisfaction.
    1. what are the Prerequisites?
I dont think there is any need for some major prerequisites other than the version of the Primavera   software you are using. In our case we had used Primavera version P6. Find out from your business owner as to what all data he needs to upload or download using this interface. You can modify your ABAP program likewise.
    2. How it works - means how data will get transferred from primaver to SAP?
    a) The data between project structures will be mapped one to one basis. Ex. Project in SAP PS is mapped to Project in Primavera, WBS Elements in SAP PS will be mapped to WBS in Primavera, and Activity data in SAP PS is mapped as Activities in Primavera.
    b) Frequency of data transfer will be weekly or Monthly. Every time data is exported from SAP PS to Primavera, new project will be created in Primavera.
    c) Data will be transferred from SAP PS to Primavera in Batch mode and with manual intervention.
    d) Data will be transferred from SAP PS in Comma Separated (.CSV) File format.
    e) Primavera users will access MS-Excel interface to import data from CSV file in Primavera. MS-Excel will have a Macro written in Visual Basic Application (VBA) which will be initiated by user for data transfer.
    f) Primavera Software Development Kit (SDK) will be used for transferring data in Primavera.
    3. whether this transferr is Direct or some third party tool required. if yes then may know the options?
Hope the above mentioned points answer this question.
    4. How much it cost approximate? any option to transfer data without any third party tool?
I may not be able to comment on the cost part since this interface was internally developed by our team. This interface is successfully being used by our organization as a reusable component in various projects, thus reducing the efforts considerably.

    Hi,
There are so many software's available in the market and certified by SAP for Integration Primavera with SAP.
If you want to develop your own interface between SAP and Primavera,it is tedious and time consuming so better is to go for a ready made software certified by SAP which will ease you work.

  • DELEVERY ADDRESS IS NOT UPDATE IN SAP R/3 SYSTEM

    Hi,
i create a purchase order in SRM system but i put this purchase order in SAP R/3 DELEVERY ADDRESS IS different in SRM SYSTEM and SAP R/3.
    kindly give me soulation ASAP.
    THANKS

    hi ,
technically i know the difference why there is difference between the delivery address in purchase order and the purchase requisition ..
you can further enquire with SAP why the difference between the two.
    for purchase order --->
    1) transaction --> se24 --->  CL_BBP_BS_ADAPTER_PO_CRT_40B
    2)double click on method --> create_document
    3) you can find the function -->  CALL FUNCTION 'BBP_PO_CREATE_40B' and the parameter
poaddrdelivery             = as_po_out-poaddrdelivery   " not used in SRM
    for purchase requisition -->
    1) transaction --> se24 --> CL_BBP_BS_ADAPTER_RQ_CRT_40B
    2) double click on method --> create_document
    3) you will find the function --> CALL FUNCTION 'BAPI_REQUISITION_CREATE'
    requisition_addrdelivery       =
                                as_rq_out-requisition_addrdelivery
so effectively , purchase requisition uses --> delivery address given by SRM and
purchase order does not use --> delivery address given by SRM.

  • SAP 4.x and ECC 6.x Release

    HI All,
I was using SAP 4.7 release till now.
Now i am using ECC 6.0 Release (ERP Central Component Release).
I would like to know what are the differences in these two reelases...????
Basically, i would like to know any Differences or Enhanced features with ABAP perspective in ECC 6.0......
PLease Help me in providing this info.......
Your Help will be sincerely appreciated.......
    Regards
    Pavan

    Hi Pavan
below are some of the good features in ECC6.0
1- Your ABAP code can be unicode enable,so that you can use your code in all the versions
2-You have a two kind of break point option in ECC6.0.
3-You have a enhanced debugging screen.
ECC->enterprise central component.ECC 6.0 is the advanced version.if we consider in technical point of view then i can give u one example.
In the new version we have enhancement points and enhancement sections along with enhancemnts and BADI'S.SAP has provided these ,so that without going for access keys we can write our code in the enhancement points along with Standard SAP code.So now SAP has provided more user friendly environment. Also a new DEBUGGER also arrived with the new version. Now we can see more things in the new er version of DEBUGGER.
From the ABAP perspective, few differences are.
The WS_* function modules used in 4.6c has become obsolete from 4.7C. All the WS_* FMs have been replaced by GUI_* FMs.
(ii) Concept of Unicode is introduced.
(iii) Few tables have been modified in ECC6.0.
Tables TVARV & TTREX have been replaced by TVARVC & TTREXN respectively.
(iv) we have enhancement points and enhancement sections along with enhancemnts and BADI'S . and we can write the part of code in those points.

  • Difference between Smart Forms and Adobe Form

    Hi all,
What are disadvantages of Smart form in SAP ,
What is difference between Smart Forms and Adobe interactive Form.
I heard from someone that in future Adobe interactive Form will repalce smart forms. Is it true or not
    Best Regards
    Srikanth

    Hi,
Companies depend on formal documents that reflect their corporate identities and contain critical business information from live systems. SAP and Adobe partnered for automating and streamlining forms-based communication to support customers who create reusable forms for their business processes.
SAP Interactive Forms by Adobe will be used more and more as a way of simplifying and automating manual processes.
There are various advantages of Adobe forms.
SAP Interactive Forms by Adobe provides all the features and functions you need to create form-based output, such as order confirmations, invoices, or pay slips. You can either print such documents or send them by email or FAX.
    <b>Online Interactive Forms</b>
A user logs on to the company intranet to fill in a form required by the HR department (for example, a Non-Disclosure Agreement to be signed by a new employee). The form is displayed in the browser.
As the user is logged on in the background to the company's HR system, his master data is displayed in the form. The user enters the required information in the fillable fields of the interactive form, and sends the data back to the system by pushing a button. The system extracts the data from the form and saves it in the database.
    <b>Offline Interactive Forms</b>
The purchasing department of a company creates a bid in its Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system and selects the potential vendors. Based upon this data, the system automatically creates interactive bidding forms with specific vendor information, such as the address or contact person.
The forms are transmitted to the vendors by email. The vendors can fill out the forms offline (without being connected to the system that created the forms) and transmit them back to the company. The company then processes the forms automatically, and the data provided by the vendors is written to the ERP system. The purchasing department uses the data to evaluate the quotation and then issues an order.
<b>With the integration of Adobe PDF technology into its solutions, SAP will be able to further extend its offerings of end-to-end business solutions by:</b>
Providing for the first time the capabilities of Adobe's interactive PDF-based forms.
Integrating PDF documents into business processes that are driven by SAP applications.
Automating the process of moving XML data from SAP applications into interactive forms and vice versa.
Reducing time to design, manage, and maintain extended forms-based processes through easy-to-use forms design and deployment tools.
Offering its customers enhanced printing capabilities, in particular for interactive Web applications.
The focus of new forms technology from SAP is interactive PDF-based forms that can be created in SAP systems as a result of the <b>integration of Adobe technology with Web Dynpro and the SAP NetWeaver Developer Studio.</b> This integration means that adobe is the future technology.

    Kate
