SAP Quality system Prerequsites

Hi Experts,
We have installed the ECC EHP5 Dev server successfully and now planning for the QAS server, My question is that what will be the prerequisites for QAS server like-
Do we have to mount the filesystem /usr/sap/trans from DEV box to QAS and then start the installation or shall we create another
filesystem on QAS /usr/sap/trans ?
Any other prerequsite before start the installation ?

I heard some issue when /usr/sap/trans for both the systems are different and on local host also copy of data and cofile is taking a time between these systems.
Currently DEV system is ready and I have created 2 virtual systems with SID of QAS and PRD so that transport routes can configure for new request. We want DEV as our domain controller and I already worked in this type of environment where trans is mounted between all 3 systems (DEV, QAS and PRD) and the only issue is that when Domain controller get crashed we can not create the transport request directly in quality as no file system /usr/sap/trans will exist thr.
Kindly suggest which approach we prefer ?

Issue while calling the RFC in SAP quality system but not in SAP Dev sys

Our scenario is FIle-RFC-File.
We are calling the RFC from XI system in Development environment. This is working fine in Development environment, but not in Quality environment.
This changes are moved/transported to Quality environment in both XI and SAP side. But we are getting the following error in Quality system:

Hi Ramesh,
This might be because your RFC adapter would not have been configured properly. Just do a check on it,in RWB(adapter monitoring) and activate it once more in ID.
Also check RFC comm. parameters such as host name/user id/password etc..
Also check whether your XML document is having a mismatch with your RFC XML.
Check with your payload ( from SXMB_MONI) and test it in your message mapping.

SAP BI Quality system appearing in SAP folder and not in BI folder in RSA1

Dear SAP experts,
We recently did a system refresh of our BI 3.5 Quality system QED from the BI 7.0 Production system PED .We ran the BDLS for all the connected source system that were to QED.
But after this i find that in RSA1 under "source system" , myself source system QED is appearing in the SAP folder and not in BI folder. Because of this we are not able to do data loads with in the system.
I am not able to create the QED source system under the BI folder as it already exists. For all the other system in the landscape the BI system are appearing in the BI folder in RSA1.

I had run the BDLS for PED > QED and have checked the spools where all the table till Z* was converted.
However i find that in table RSBASIDOC there are 2 entries which may be the problem.

Error While importing SAP query into quality system

Hi,
When Itried to import the dataset(Transport Request) generated in develoment system into Quality system I am getting the following error.
Query already exists and Infoset contains a structures which is not there in data dictionary .

You need to transport your Z tables to the quality.
Make sure you transport all the data elements , domain.. etc to the quality.
Thats why its giving you the error.
It does not find the Z tables in Quality

Error while transporting database index into quality system

Hello,
I am getting an error while transporting a new index in quality system.
I have created a new index for table VBFA in TRD and activity the object without errors. I even adjusted the database table using database utility.
While transporting the request there was a strange error "R3TRTABLVBFA was repaired in this system".
I retransported the objects using a new request. However I still got the same error.
Please help.

No idea about the error you have mentioned but check the SAP Notes 185530 and see if you can avoid creating an index.In this Notes it is clearly mentioned on how to use VBFA table without any performance issues.

Error While transporting Crystal Reports from BW DEV to Quality System

I have developed a crystal report using the SAP menu. We saved the report to SAP BW dev server using the SAP menu and published it to BOE.
Now i want to transport my Crystal report to Quality system, I followed the same mechanism to transport crystal report which are aplied to other BW objects, but when i am trying to transport its giving me a short dump error:
The error appears something like this:

This parameter is not defined.
This is first time i am transporting any crystal report to other bw system.

Hi,
I would suggest you open a case with support so that they can look at your system. In general you should be able to transport the Crystal REports object in the same way you transport a Bex query.

Navigate_absolute is not working in the quality system.

But when i test the application through ep (quality system) exit button is not working its not navigating to OVERVIEW SCREEN in EP, And the code which i have written in the exit button is.
Exit button is working in development system but its not working in quality system.

Hi,
The both mentioned virtual systems are in different LPAR's (Physical host).
Already I have checked the /etc/services and looks every thing is fine in the file. I have also checked the file inetd.conf and I didn't find any thing # on the Telnet.It seems every thing is fine in the both files.
Can you please look in to it and provide some thing which I have to look in the OS level.

Hi,
I would suggest you open a case with support so that they can look at your system. In general you should be able to transport the Crystal REports object in the same way you transport a Bex query.

What actions should be taken while working with the quality system

Hi all,
The development phase has been completed, I would like to know what are the steps we need to follow when we are working with the quality system.
I have some doubts regarding this could any one give the inputs please.
1. Where should we create any Roles and Authorizations.Dev/QA/Prd
2. Where should we craete process Chains. Dev/QA/Prd.
3. Can I transport the queries without using Bex transport. What will happen If i dont use the Bex transport.

Hi Kumar,
your BW quality system will be connected to your R/3 Production system from where you'll extract the real time data and do testing which includes estimation of downtime in case of filling up of the set up tables and so on...
the most general procedure is to create the Roles and Authorizations in teh development system and then transport it across to production through your quality system...
Process chains you afford to create it directly in your production system itself... that's no big deal...
And of course, you'll have to transport the queries only using the BEx transport.. there's no other go for this as its the standard procedure given by SAP...

Is ST-PI and ST-A/PI needs to be applied to DEV and Quality Systems of ERP and BW.
I understand that ST-PI and ST-A/PI are necessary for Production Environment.
Is it recommended to install or upgrade the same in Dev and Quality Systems of ERP and BW.
Because I believe it is always good practice to keep all systems Support Packages including ST-PI and ST-A/PI the same in the same Landscape. (But could not find any documents from SAP.)

you can get into the problems which I have said if you dont implement that,also many support packs do have their dependencies on ST-PI and ST-A/PI and seriously I havent heard people implementing this on prod and not dev and qa....I have worked on with many big clients but never heard this
Also if you ignore whatever I have said,still it is still recommended that you never apply anything directly on Production,It is always better if you first implement on dev and qa and see if you are facing any issues while implementing...so its always better to implement on dev and then qa
and It doesnt take too much of time,so that should not be an issue after all

We are currently on PI 7.1 EHP1 and SLD Setting on CIM 1.5 and CR 5.0 in XIA(Quality System) while XID (Developement) has CIM 1.6 and CR 4.5.We are having local SLD for XID and XIA both.

*These are options we tried in DEV*
In Developement (XID) we tried creating the business groups
TEST_DEV
TEST_QA
TEST_PRD
Whn we try to assign buisness system to the above 3 groups,All systems in our XID are by default getting assigned to TEST_DEV Group and we are unable to give the target for business system (BS_CATALOG_REC) in target tab in PI 7.1 EHP1.
In DEV SLD:
In group TEST_DEV,we have assigned Buisness system BS_CATALOG_REC which is poinitng to XID Integration Server
In Group TEST_QA,we are manually creating a Buisness system,BS_CATALOG_REC_QA to which we are unable to assign the Integration Server for XIA.
In Group TEST_PRD, created theBusines system BS_CATALOG_REC_PRD and have left the integration server option "NONE"
and Tried to create target for the BS_CATALOG_REC. But i could not able to select the target system.
Can you pls guide if we need to have the entry for INTEGRATION_SERVER_XIA in our XID-Developement SLD landscape.We also have tried using "None" option,however in developement TEST_DEV buisness system target,we are not getting any values.
We have just 1 Buisness system which needs to be imported into Quality and beacuase of this we are not able to import in ID the configuration objects as can be seen in error text above.
Can anyone help !!

If the groups and targets are correctly configured, apply the note #1059576 - XI Directory import fails due to inconsistent SLD host names.

Mapping issue in quality system

Hi Experts,
I am new to BODS tool. Currently I am working with BODS 4.2 version.
I have an issue with mapping of datastores in quality system.
Actually I have created a project in Development system ( done all the things I mean to say Jobs, Workflows and Dataflows...).
For this project, Source tables are from SQL server and Target tables are from SAP BI system.
In BODS Development system, this project is working fine ( Source tables are perfectly mapped to Dev SQL Server Database tables and Target tables are mapped to SAP BI Dev system). While running a process chain in SAP BI DEV system, It's working fine.
Now I have Transported this Project to BODS quality system through central repository.Everything related to this project ( I mean to say project, Jobs, Workflows and Dataflows ) got reflected in quality system.
Can anyone please let me know, how should I map the Datastores related to this project to the quality system ( I mean to say now all the source tables should point to SQL Server Quality system Database tables and Target tables should point to SAP BI quality system ).

Please Edit your SQL datastore and BI datastroe in BODS and provide the Quality system username and password. For BI datastore please update ip aslo.
Steps for BI datastore:
Right click on your BI datastore and click Edit--->click advanced tab-->Edit-->refer below sreenshoot
Please provide your Quality system credential then -->click apply-->ok
Same procedure you can follow for SQL datasore.

SAP Three-System Landscape

Hi All,
I have a very basic doubt - I have read umpteen times that the SAP recommendation is to use a 3-system landscape for performance reasons. One system for the developement, one for quality assurance and one for the production environment.
However, I want more clarity on what a 'system' is. Does it mean I purchase 3 mySAP ERP licenses for my implementation and then implement DEV, QAS and PRD in each of them? But would that not multiple my costs 3 times if I decide to move from legacy system to an SAP implementation?

Yes. exactly if the system are different then any config/changes will not going to affect another system until unless you move any transport. Client is a buisness unit to identify the Buisness data, It is system specific.
