SAP Query - Searching

Our company is new to SAP and I am having to create reports using SAP Query. I am learning about Query Areas, User Group and InfoSet .
I have a query name set up by someone else (I know the transaction code) but do not now where it has been saved.
How do I search across all areas, groups and InfoSet to find where this Query has been saved.

when u got o SQ02
check the >enironment button from the menu u will drop down list containing the below
and change the query Areas
from global to standrad area
u will get list of the infosets along with the person who created the infoset along with the infoset
check that one and let me know if u have any issues

I have a question regarding the select options in a sap query. here is the scenario:
I have a SAP query + infoset. in the selection sreen I have a field from the type MAKTX. this field is a character field that allows upper and lower case. I have the problem that my users provide an input only in lower case e.g. "bottle" and only find the results where bottle is only in lower case. Results with the word "Bottle" they cannot find.
I am pretty familiar with abap and programing the code to achiev this is not the problem. I just don't know how I can bring my coding and the sap query together. I had 2 ideas:
a) I make a z-search help and attach it to my select-option in the selection screen. but I don't know if this is possible and where I do that
b) I put my code into the code-enhancement section in the infoset. but again I am not sure where I have to put it and if there are any restrictions that I have to know....
c) any other solution will be good as well... maybe somebody has an idea.
I hope I could make my problem clear. please let me know if you have any idea how I can do that. I don't want to modify the data dictionary object!!.

Use MAKTG instead, in the selection screen. It's has the same value as MAKTX but it's not case sensitive.

SAP Query- Reporting on SOD

Hello everyone,
I need some help in creating a report in SAP Query based on user's processing Vendor Invoices and also Vendor Payments?
I would like to have the following columns to report on:
USNAM u2013 User Name (from BKPF)
BLDAT u2013 Document Date (from BKPF)
BELNR u2013 Document Number (from BKPF)
BUKRS u2013 Company Code (from BKPF)
BLART u2013 Document Type (from BKPF)
LIFNR u2013 Vendor Number (from BSEG)
NAME1 u2013 Vendor Name (from LFA1)
WRBTR u2013 Amount (from BSEG)
Vendor Invoice- I would like to restrict to only document type fields that are KA,KR,RC,RE,RN and ZE
Vendor Payment- I would like to restrict to only document type fields that are ZV,ZS,ZP,ZH and KZ
I have a few questions:
First is i am using a logical database (BRM as BSEG cannot be joined) to select my columns however i do not know how to pull the 'Vendor Name' from LFA1. I understand that this table is not in BRM but is there a way to add any extra tables to work along side the logical database?
Secondly, i have managed to report on all columns except the vendor name (from LFA1) and although i can restrict my output data based on document type fields, i need the report to only show the user's that have process vendor invoices & vendor payments only?
At the moment i have a list of restricted document type but cannot seem to jsut show only those users who have processed both in both processes. For example User A has processed a vendor invoice (which is shown) and the same user may have processed vendor payment (after searching through the long output list!)
I want all users who have doen one of the other process and only interested in those that have done both?
Any feedback is much appreciated and pelase let me know if i have not explained this problem properly (as i am a newbie in this area)

Hi Pascal,
Since the IT2501 is a "Simulated Time Infotype" you cannot look at the data in it, but you can confirm the data from the ZL cluster and the data from the employee. Since it is only this employee or a few employees, it is probably not the configuration of the time buckets for the IT2501, but you may want to make sure all time times are captured as you want. Then look at the time entries for this individual or individuals. Did they enter a time type that was not expected or configured? Is all their time approved and passed through Time Evaluation? Finally check the Master Data for the employee - is the Planned Working Time (IT0007) infotype correct or has it been recently changed? Is he in a special Cost Center (IT0027) or Project that is captured differently for time purposes?
Since it just one or a few individuals, I would suspect the Master Data and some inconsistant entry that affects the time cummulation for the IT2501.

How to find the report for the SAP query (Query exists in table AQLQCAT)

Hello Experts,
I need to find the tables used in the SAP Query but i don't have access to transaction SQ01,SQ02 and SQ03 to check the same.
Therefore i checked table AQLQCAT and got the SAP Queries in the system. Then searched for the reports that would have been generated for the same passing AQusergroupquery name* in transaction SE38.
But unfortunately the program does not exists for the given paramenter.
Could you please let me know how to get the report name for the SAP Query.
Secondly please suggest any other way of checking the tables used in the SAP Query.
Also the table name from where i can download the SAP Queries.

I suggest you a simple method.
Execute the query. When the selection screen is showed, go to menu and click to SYSTEM->STATUS.
Check the program name and double click it to access the program code.
Search for tables or functions into the source code in order to understand where data are taken.
If you do not find anything , go to the program atttribute and check for logic database, sometimes they are used....

Transaction code thro' SAP Query for customer spefific report

hi experts,
how to create transaction code (using SE43-) for the sap query created on own??
I have created the following required for a customer specific report
1.Infoset thro sq02
2.user group thro sq03 and assigned it to infoset
3.query thro sq01 and saved it with text
earlier i have used logical database PNPCE ( relevant for PA and payroll modules reports)
using sq01 , go to basic list , selected required infotypes and fields and
then selected, SAP List viewer for viewing and i get the report.
Now my question is how to create a separate transaction code for this sap query which i created
should i use SE43( area menu maintenance and area class???_)
should i create a variant and go to SE43??

Hello
when you excecute the query in right han side corner you can get the program name
go to se80 select program & type this name and then you can create a tcode for that prog in SE80
reward points if helpful.
the prog name will be something like : AQZZ/SAPQUERY/* " ur query name
you can search for the name also in this manner

I want to create new sap query in sq01 , the requirement is like this eg:- customer a/b/c , I want to generate the list of last created sales order for the customers a/b/c here I have given 3 customers but I have to execute for 1500 customers
If customer A creates 3 sales order in that 3 sales orders I want to pick last sales order on 12.09.2010 / 15.09.2010 /17.09.2010 in that I wnat to pick the last sales order 17.09.2010
So in query report sq01 how to create, plz provide step by step procedure with this logic

SAP Query, user groups, revoking 'change' rights

Hi,
I have a problem regarding SAP Queries and revoking the change rights. This is what I have done:
1. Created the new user group in SQ03
2. Created the new InfoSet (SQ02), assigned it to the above UG (SQ03)
3. Created the new user, assigned it to the UG in SQ03 and removed the Change checkbox (revoke change rights)
4. Logged on as the new user
5. Started SQ01, switched user group to the new one
6. Created the new SAP query based on the new InfoSet, run the query
As I understand the principles of user groups and queries, I wasn't supposed to be allowed to do the step 6 as the new user, as it was revoked the change rights. Why wasn't I stopped?
I searched for reply in previous posts - everybody agrees on principles, but I didn't find explanation on why it doesn't work.

The table AQGDBBN seems to display a mapping of User Group with use rindeed but the results are less than the actual assignment. And the mapping does not have the Z query usergroups that have users assigned in SQ03.
Anything that I may be missing?

SAP Query is a tool supplied by SAP for report creation.
Reports are programs that fetch data from database tables and display data.

Every Query generated one program like AQZZ/FSCMA/IS===CDM_10_Q1=====
Go To your QuerySQ01 , run your query and From selection screen, check your program name after that you can search your added code. what you added in infoset but your breakpoint and debug your query code.

How to override security for table access when using SAP Query?

We have a number of infosets which use table join between PA0001 and CATSDB table. To execute a query based on such a query you would need access to table auth group PA through S_TABU_DIS. This was earlier not a problem as SAP query was earlier used by support staff and not end users. We do not want to give S_TABU_DIS with to end users as this amounts to givin them access to all PA tables.
The generated code for the query checks for the condition
"%rtmode-no_authchk = space"
before going for the authorization check.
Thus, ideally the authorization check for an InfoSet can be skipped if we can pass X for this variable from the InfoSet definition. Is there a way to do this?
Would appreciste any inputs to help suppress the authorization check at this point. Thanks.....

well for my part (searching a solution for a query on LTAK, wanting L_LGNUM as an object) i'm out of ideas. i shall have to modify SAP-standard and disable the class and do my own coding in the info-set. no other possibility - i cannot allow S_TABU_DIS for group LA and even if i did, what help would it be - i would have to allow that to all companies in that client having WM - and that would be literally all - i need LGNUM here!

find out program name with:
SQ01 - query - more functions - display report name
(example : AQZZ/GRC/APPL===FI_AP_20_Q1===)
-> search for your add. coding / field in this report and set break-points

SAP Query giving dump

Hi all,
I have a sap query. When query is called using T.code its working fine and if i execute the query through SQ01 then its giving me dump.
Message is Error when attempting to IMPORT object "PARVW".
It says the object in the dataset had a different type from the target object in the program
So, I thought the problem may be with the Query Variant. I tried to change the query variant through Sq01->goto->maintain variant
provided the Variant name(only 1 variant is available). selected radio button VALUES and click on Display or Change button here also its giving the same dump.
Then I tried to remove the PARVW from selection field in SQ01 in change mode ->Basic list, on the left hand side displays the field and 2 check boxes are there one for LIst field and other of Selection. But the check box for Selection is input disabled.
Can anyone please let me know how can i avoid the dump.
I gave a search in SCN and google, but couldn't find any appropriate solution.

Query area is Global Area (Cross Client).
I'm able to solve the dump probelm. Now i want to design a selection screen for my query. suppose the selection is as follows in one block
program selections.

field2
field3
I want it to be displayed in 2 different blocks block 1 and block2
General Data selection
field1
Program Specific
field2
field3
how can we do this one?
