SAP Query - Selection to get only one record by date
I am writing a query in which the infoset includes dates example would be material, plant, date, price. For a given material and plant, there will be multiple records in the infoset because the material can have a different price on a different date.
I want to choose the one record from the infoset that has a date closest to but less than or equal to a user entered date.
How do I do this.

I am getting only one record from table data
Hi Experts,
I am using interacive forms to bring the table data i used GET_STATIC_ATTRIBUTES_TABLE
method. initially the table is empty when i fill some records more than one it is giving me only one record.
where as i fill the table in wddoinit more than one record and try to retreived it, showing all the records more than one. waht is the reason.. if i fill manually why it is not bringing all the reocrds.
i have used the cardinatly as follows
1. parent node(no tables/structure used)
Dictionary structure empty not used
Cardinality 1..1
Selection 0..1
Initialization Lead Selection Checked
Singleton Not checked
Supply Function not used
2. table node(i used table type)
Dictionary structure SFLIGHT_LIGHT
Cardinality 1..n
Selection 0..n
Initialization Lead Selection Checked
Singleton Not checked
Supply Function not used
Pleae help me out...
Thanks,
Mahesh.Gattuhi,
Use the following code for making the rows editable for a table UI element.
DATA lo_nd_cn_try TYPE REF TO if_wd_context_node.
DATA lo_el_cn_try TYPE REF TO if_wd_context_element.
DATA ls_cn_try TYPE wd_this->element_cn_try.
DATA ls_cn_try1 TYPE wd_this->elements_cn_try.
navigate from <CONTEXT> to <CN_TRY> via lead selection
lo_nd_cn_try = wd_context->get_child_node( name = wd_this->wdctx_cn_try ).
do 5 times.
clear ls_cn_try.
append ls_cn_try to ls_cn_try1.
lo_nd_cn_try->bind_table( ls_cn_try1 ).
enddo.
-> cn_try is the node which is binded with the Table UI element.
What all this is called as initialization of table. This code will make 5 rows editable, If u want more rows editable then run the loop according to the requirement.
U can write this code in the WDDOINIT.

How to get only one record per machine
I have this SQL statement that works.
SELECT
cn.Name0 AS [Computer Name],
cn.Model0 AS [Model],
cn.Manufacturer0 AS [Manufacturer],
bios.SerialNumber0 AS [Serial Number],
rs.Operating_System_Name_and0 AS [OS Type],
--ld.FreeSpace0 AS [Free Disk Space],
--ld.Size0 AS [Actual Disk Size],
x86.TotalPhysicalMemory0 AS [Total Memory],
aa.SMS_Assigned_Sites0 AS [Assigned Site]
FROM
v_GS_COMPUTER_SYSTEM cn INNER JOIN v_GS_LOGICAL_DISK ld on cn.ResourceID = ld.ResourceID
INNER JOIN v_GS_PARTITION gs ON cn.ResourceID = gs.ResourceID
INNER JOIN v_GS_X86_PC_MEMORY x86 ON gs.ResourceID = x86.ResourceID
INNER JOIN v_R_System rs ON gs.ResourceID = rs.resourceID
INNER JOIN v_GS_PC_BIOS bios ON rs.resourceID = bios.ResourceID
INNER JOIN v_RA_System_SMSAssignedSites aa ON bios.ResourceID = aa.ResourceID
WHERE
cn.Model0 LIKE '%780%'
ORDER BY
cn.Name0
The problem is whent his runs it returns multiple rows for each serial number/machine it finds. So I'll have 5 or 6 rows for the exact same machine. How do I make it only give me 1 row for each serial number/machine?
mqh7... because you added v_GS_PARTITION gs (which results in multiple rows per resource) and then you are doing the inner join blues.
This should be better:
SELECT
cn.Name0 AS [Computer Name],
cn.Model0 AS [Model],
cn.Manufacturer0 AS [Manufacturer],
bios.SerialNumber0 AS [Serial Number],
rs.Operating_System_Name_and0 AS [OS Type],
--ld.FreeSpace0 AS [Free Disk Space],
--ld.Size0 AS [Actual Disk Size],
x86.TotalPhysicalMemory0 AS [Total Memory],
aa.SMS_Assigned_Sites0 AS [Assigned Site]
FROM
v_GS_COMPUTER_SYSTEM cn
-- INNER JOIN v_GS_LOGICAL_DISK ld on cn.ResourceID = ld.ResourceID
--INNER JOIN v_GS_PARTITION gs ON cn.ResourceID = gs.ResourceID
INNER JOIN v_GS_X86_PC_MEMORY x86 ON x86.ResourceID = cn.ResourceID
INNER JOIN v_R_System rs ON rs.ResourceID = cn.resourceID
INNER JOIN v_GS_PC_BIOS bios ON bios.resourceID = cn.ResourceID
INNER JOIN v_RA_System_SMSAssignedSites aa ON aa.ResourceID = cn.ResourceID
WHERE cn.Model0 LIKE '%780%'
ORDER BY
cn.Name0

Need to return only one record from select statement.
Hello friends,
I have a scenerio in which code only want to fetch one value from the SQL statement, but in some cases the statment return more then one row due to which ORA-01422 : Exact fetch return more then one row, error comes.
Can you suggest me to write a select statement that will handel this. I am using the below mentioned select statement:
EXECUTE IMMEDIATE
'SELECT rsdn FROM ' || schema || '.table_name' ||
' WHERE a = :1 AND b = :2 AND c IN (32,33,34)'
INTO v_rsdn USING v_a, v_b;
One question, Can I use Rownum < 2 in Where clause to restrict the select output to only one record ? Please suggest ?
Regards,
RajatWell, if rownum=1 could be a trash answer, it would be an issue since we don't know which record you are interested to. Is it one particular ? Is it only to workaround the issue ? Then you may want to manage some BULK COLLECT or whatever else array to receive all the rows as well.
What are you doing with the rows returned ?

Dg4odbc 11.2 to mysql desc table issue, query return only one record
<h2>Hi,
I have the following set up:
11g R2 RAC oracle database, dg4odbc 11.2, UnixODBC 2.3 driver manager, MySQL ODBC 5.1.7 Driver on 64 bit Suse SLES 11 server.
Remote database MySQL version 5.0.67 running on 32 bit linux server.
I am having the following Issues:
1. When desc table, sometimes only the first field is shown:
SQL> desc sub_index@mybilltracker;
Name Null? Type
subject_id NOT NULL NUMBER(20)
SQL> desc "sub_index"@mybilltracker;
Name Null? Type
subject_id NOT NULL NUMBER(20)
Some other times I am able to see the correct table definition:
SQL> desc "sub_index"@mybilltracker;
Name Null? Type
subject_id NOT NULL NUMBER(20)
sess_id NUMBER(10)
sess_yr NUMBER(10)
subject_name VARCHAR2(255)
SQL> desc sub_index@mybilltracker;
Name Null? Type
subject_id NOT NULL NUMBER(20)
2. Select count(*) returns the total number of rows correctly. Select * or Select "field name" from table returns only one row:
SQL> select count(*) from "mbt_user"@mybilltracker;
COUNT(*)
2
SQL> select "user_id", "email" from "mbt_user"@mybilltracker; _(always return only one record!)_
user_id email
1 [email protected]
Has anybody seen this? Can somebody help me pinpoint the problem? Thank you!

How to use data in a ResultSet when only one record in set?
Hi.
Using a prepared statement which invokes a SELECT * from <table> where <primary key> = <unique value>.
This is executed and the results sent to a resultSet.
The only problem is that only one entry is in the resultSet. I want to parse the results and invoke a new class based on the results.
So I have:
statement = conn.prepareStatement ("SELECT First_Name, Last_Name, Street, Unit, City, Province, Postal_Code" +
" from Customer where CustomerID = ?");
statement.setInt (1, custID);
rset = statement.executeQuery();
rset.next();
cust = new Customer (custID,
rset.getString ("First_Name"),
rset.getString ("Last_Name"),
rset.getString ("Street"),
rset.getString ("Unit"),
rset.getString ("City"),
rset.getString ("Province"),
rset.getString ("Postal_Code"));
statement.close();
rset is a ResultSet. And I'm pretty sure that something like this is WRONG. But one thing I want to know, is there ANY way to properly parse a resultset with only one record?
Thanks.I think I should clarify what I was doing: I'm trying to insert a record into a table, and with the ID that I obtain, use it to retrieve the data.
I did put a commit in there, but someone suggested that the commit won't work in this scenario.
Here is bits of the code that I'm using. By the time insertCustomer is invoked, custID is already populated. The insert works because I checked the table afterwards using a sql query and all my entries posted are there.
private void insertCustomer (HttpServletRequest request, HttpServletResponse response)
throws ServletException, IOException
Connection conn = null;
PreparedStatement statement = null;
try {
conn = DriverManager.getConnection (url, userid, password);
statement = conn.prepareStatement ("INSERT INTO CUSTOMER (CustomerID, First_Name, Last_Name," +
" Street, Unit, City, Province, Postal_Code) values (?, ?, ?, ?, ?, ?, ?, ?)");
statement.setInt (1, custID);
statement.setString (2, firstname);
statement.setString (3, lastname);
statement.setString (4, address);
statement.setString (5, unit);
statement.setString (6, city);
statement.setString (7, province);
statement.setString (8, postalcode);
statement.executeUpdate();
conn.commit();
statement.close();
catch (SQLException e)
throw new ServletException (e);
finally
try
if(statement != null)
statement.close();
if(conn != null)
conn.close();
catch (SQLException e)
throw new ServletException(e);
private String getCustRec (HttpServletRequest request, HttpServletResponse response)
throws ServletException, IOException
Connection conn = null;
PreparedStatement statement = null;
ResultSet rset = null;
CustomerJDBC cust = null;
try
conn = DriverManager.getConnection (url, userid, password);
statement = conn.prepareStatement ("SELECT First_Name, Last_Name, Street, Unit, City, Province, Postal_Code" +
" from Customer where CustomerID = ?");
statement.setInt (1, custID);
rset = statement.executeQuery();
rset.next();
cust = new CustomerJDBC (custID,
rset.getString ("First_Name"),
rset.getString ("Last_Name"),
rset.getString ("Street"),
rset.getString ("Unit"),
rset.getString ("City"),
rset.getString ("Province"),
rset.getString ("Postal_Code"));
statement.close();
catch (SQLException e)
throw new ServletException (e);
finally
try
if(statement != null)
statement.close();
if(conn != null)
conn.close();
catch (SQLException e)
throw new ServletException(e);
return "/CustomerCreatedJDBC.jsp";
}The Constructor method of the class CustomerJDBC appears something like this:
public CustomerJDBC (int id, String fname, String lname, String addr, String unit, String city, String prov, String pcode)
this.custID = id;
this.firstname = fname;
this.lastname = lname;
this.address = addr;
this.unit = unit;
this.city = city;
this.province = prov;
this.postalcode = pcode;
}Thanks for your help.

Hi experts,
i have a table and the result is only one record instead of more records.
how can i see more records?
my code is:

favor type pa0021-favor,
yy_id type pa0021-yy_id,
fgbdt type pa0021-fgbdt,
end of structure_0021.
data: it_0021 type table of struct_0021,
wa_0021 like line of it_0021.
select favor yy_id fgbdt from pa0021 into corresponding fields of table it_0021
where pernr = lv_pernr and
subty = '2'.
data: lo_nd_adobe2 type ref to if_wd_context_node,
lo_nd_ls00212 type ref to if_wd_context_node,
lo_el_ls00212 type ref to if_wd_context_element,
ls_ls00212 type wd_this->element_ls0021.
lo_nd_adobe2 = wd_context->get_child_node( name = wd_this->wdctx_adobe).
lo_el_ls00212 = lo_nd_adobe2->get_element().
lo_nd_ls00212 = lo_nd_adobe->get_child_node(name = wd_this->wdctx_ls0021).
lo_el_ls00212 = lo_nd_ls00212->get_element().
loop at it_0021 into wa_0021.
lo_el_ls00212->get_static_attributes(importing static_attributes = ls_ls00212).
endloop.
lo_nd_ls00212->bind_table(new_items = it_0021).
if anyone can help me - i will really appreciate it.

Return only one record at a time
I am new to crystal reports so any help would be appreciated. I have a .net app that is a order processing system. When the user is in a record, they want to be able to click on a button an open a crystal report showing only that orders details. I created a crystal report that has the following fields:
Order ID, Product ID, Unit Price, Sell Price, Hours.
The Order ID is the primary key in the database. The report runs fine when clicking the report button in the app, but returns the details for every order in the database. We just need the details of the order that the user is processing. How do I setup the report to only show that order's details? I am using VB 2005 and Crystal v9.
Edited by: sking on Mar 6, 2009 1:12 AMBrian,
Thank you for all your help. I have been able to setup the report to return only one record at a time. In my app, when I click the report button the PDF opens perfectly with only one record. However, when I go to another record and open the PDF it returns the information from the record id that was set as the default parameter value (crReportDocument.SetParameterValue("Orders", 67). How do I get it to return the report for a different record? Here is the code I'm using. I think I'm really close with your suggestions but I'm just missing one step.

Check box in SAP Query selection screen
I want to keep 2 check box in SAP Query selection screen.
could you please tell me any one.
regards,
kumarHi Vijay,
If these check boxes are the fields in the table you are using then you can do it in SQ01, otherwise you may required to make the changes in the standard code generated for that query.
You can find the name of the generated program of the query when you execute the query.
Reward points if useful.

hi all.....
i executed the smart form and called the FM in program....but only one record is
getting displayed....i created a table in main window and put loop in main area...
but still only on erecord..please help me.There are two ways of displaying data from a internal table in the smart form.
1. Create a Table node and pass the internal to the table node along with a work area. Create a line type, which will have each of the columns. Create text elements for each of the columns you want to display.
2. Create a Loop node, pass the internal table and create text element for each of the columns you want to display.

How to get only updated records for a column using loading type INSERT
Hi,
Good morning all,
I have source1 containg 3 columns bill_cd,bill_desc,bill_date and
source2 has the columns bill_cd,bill_key,source_id.
My target has the columns bill_cd,bill_date,bill_desc .
Now the requirement is, bill_cd in target should not repeated when we run the mapping more than one thime. it should get only updated records not the previous records using only INSERT Loading type(for target) not to use update/insert.
How can we achieve this logic in mapping level.
Anybody Please give me some solution immediately.
Thanks in Advance,
SivThanks Herzog for your reply,
Here bill_cd is not unique. Yes,I want only new records using INSERT as loading type. Suppose when the map runs for the first time, bill_cd is loaded with values 1 to 5.
Now, in the source I have got new records 6 to 10 for bill_cd and when I run the mapping again I need to get only records for bill_cd from 6 to 10 using INSERT as loading type.
Is it possible to achieve this at mapping level?
Regards,
Siv.
