SAP R/3 Fields to BW InfoObjects Mapping Documentation

Hello everyone,
As a newbie, one of many challenges that I face is to map SAP R/3 fields to its corresponding InfoObjects in BW. I've learned that we can run transaction <b>SE11</b> and view table <b>RSOSFIELDMAP</b>, in order to know the mapping between OLTP Source Fields and InfoObjects.
However, there are many fields that have not been mapped in this table, like PAYR-CHECT, PAYR-ZBNKN and PAYR-ZBNKL, to name a few.
So I just wonder, has anyone out there compiled this mapping into a document or published it on any web site?
Appreciate if you could let me know about this.
Thanks!

Hi Fulham,
In help.sap.com, you can check out the datasource and the fields mapped from which table. Just check the business content section.
eg. http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw04/helpdata/en/7a/c3143c26b8bc00e10000000a114084/frameset.htm and click on any of the available links under datasource.
I find this extremely helpful when I need to find out the objects and the tables.  Hope this helps.
Cheers,
Gim

  • Mapping of Business One Field names to SAP R/3 Field Names

    Hi experts,
We are downgrading from SAP R/3 to SAP Business One. I am having difficulties in mapping the SAP R/3 fields to Business One fields. Hope you could help me by providing the field names in R/3 linked to Business One field names.
    Thank you very much

    Hi,
I have ever used SAP R/3 and I knew that there is a feature to export data from SAP R/3 to excel.
I suggest export it first if you want to migrate data from R/3 to SAP B1. The data in the excel file could be used to enter into data transfer workbench (DTW) excel template file. DTW is an addon to import data into SAP B1 database system.
You could open this folder :
    C:\Program Files\SAP\Data Transfer Workbench\Templates\Templates
after full installation of SAP B1 (begin from server tools, server application, application client, SDK, DI API, DTW).
To know more about the column template definition and location in SAP B1, you could use SDK help center file. This file is only available if you installed the SDK. This helpfile could be used to know the fields name and meaning in all SAP B1 tables

    Hello Aman,
    Thanks for the reply.
As per my knowledge there is no direct way or configuration in GRC10 for provisioning the non-dialog useru2019s , So thatu2019s why we have created Custom field and map this field to Su01 field in SAP.
FYI u2026.We did all the configuration related to field mapping u2026but still by default itu2019s taking user type as dialog. Do you know any SAP Note related field mapping released by SAP for GRC10.

  • R3 to BW InfoObject Mapping - in report form

I have had several requests by my users for a Bex report that gives them the R3 to BW InfoObject mapping of the InfoObjects they see in the Cubes and ODS's they report from.  I am familiar with the R3 table RODCHA and the BW tables RSOSFIELDMAP, RSDIOBJ, RSOSFIELDMAP and RSTSFIELD and know that this data is contained in these various tables.   Has anyone come up with a way to pull from these tables and give their users the R3 to BW InfoObject mapping via a simple BEX report/jump query?
    Dave

Thank you Sudheer, your answer was very helpful.   The problem is a little more complex than I stated.   These tables (RSTSFIELD specifically) relate the R3 field name with BW InfoObject name to the Transfer Structure name which is usually nothing like the Cube or ODS name.   The user would have to know the Transfer Structure name related to their Cube/ODS to get the information they need in the Bex report.  I was hoping that someone might have a little more information on what other metadata table(s) I would need to join with these tables to get to the Cube/ODS name that is ultimately needed by the user.  This additional information would be very helpful.

  • Join 2 fields into one to map to destination field

Hi! Is it possible to join data in 2 fields into one to map to the destination field? I have image file name kept in one field and want to prefix with a URL which I hope to maintain in a manually added field. Alternatively, it will be great to be able to prefix the image filename with the URL to be mapped to the image destination field.
Any help is very much appreciated.
    Thanks!

    Hi,
Yes it is possible to combine values from two fields to map a single field of MDM repository using Import Manager. This feature of Import manager is called as Field Partitioning.
You can do it by following below mentioned steps:
    1. Open import manager and connect to source file.
    2. Specify source and destination tables. expand Source Table under source Hierarchy in Import Manager. And click on first field to select it.
    3. Now Go to "Partition Field/Value" tab. In the Source Partition sub Pane  you will see your First Field under "partition by" (* because you select first field from source hierarchy).
    4. From source Partition sub pane under "Available Fields" select the second field and click on "Add". This will bring second field also under "partitioned By".
    5. Now select both Fields under "partition by" and right click and select "Combine" (*Combine option will be enabled only when more than 1 field is selected by "partition By"
    6. Once you select Combine, it will combine values from both Fields. Again right click and select "Set combine delimiter" and specify the required value delimiter.
    7. Now Go to "Map Field /Values" tab. You will see one more field (*starting with the name of your first field and ending with partition word. Map this field to the required destination field.
    8. Follow other normal steps for data import and import data. after data import check data in data manager. you will get combined values from 2 source field in the MDM field.
Check Page no 203 of [import manager reference guide |http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nwmdm71/helpdata/en/4b/72b8e7a42301bae10000000a42189b/MDMImportManager71.pdf]for more details.
Please revert if you face any issue.

  • Info. / Doc. on Changes to Standard SAP Program, Tables, Fields in SAP 6.0

We are in the process of upgrading our SAP from 4.6c to 6.0 and I am looking for a document or white paper that summarizes changes to Standard SAP Programs, Tables/Fields, Function Modules etc.. from what used to be in SAP 4.6c to what it is in SAP 6.0.  I am not sure if such a comprehensive document exists or is posted in the forum.
Any help or information in this regard will be highly appreciated.

    Hi Ram,
<<   We are in the process of doing our technical upgrade from SAP 4.6c to 6.0. I am looking for a white paper or documentation listing the changes made to the standard SAP Programs, Tables, Fields, Function Modules etc. from Rel. 4.6c to 6.0. >>
Do you want to know what custom changes were done to SAP standard objects in your system or do you want to know what changes SAP did from 4.6c to ECC6.0.
There is no white paper or documentation to find out custom changes made to SAP standard objects. but there were many tools in the market to find out and tell what changes were done to sap standard objects in your system.
Your question seems ambiguous please clear it.

  • How to find table & fields of standard InfoObject?

    Hi
How to find table & fields of standard InfoObject for creating generic DataSource?
e.g. I want to know the table & field of 0MAINTPOS infoObject.

You can get the list of tables involved in a particular DS by using the below method ( this another approach)
    --> RSA3 -- enter your DS ( execute later)
--> Goto Tcode ST05 --> switch on the SQL Trace
--> now execute the extract checker in RSA3.once done switch off(deactivate) the SQL trace.
--> in st05 screen you can find the button "Display Trace" -- execute (here make sure SQL trace button is enabled.
--> from the menu bar -->Trace list-->  select "combined table accesses".
--> it will display the tables involved in it -- check for TABLE names section.... select that row Table names -- click on filter button --press F4 -- here we go it will display the list of entire tables involved in the extraction activity... here you need to sort the tables which are related to your DS.

  • Can field point folder be mapped in Windows Explorer?

Can storage in field point controller be mapped with a drive letter in Windows Explorer?

    Hi Roger.
You can see your FieldPoint in Windows Explorer by typing ftp://(your IP address) into the address bar. This will not display as a lettered drive in My Computer, but if you want to have a folder that will connect to that FieldPoint controller, you can make a shortcut to the device by creating a new shortcut in Windows, and give the location as "explorer ftp://(your IP address)"
    I hope this helps.

    Hello everyone!
Sorry for the late reply. I just want to start with mapping only three fields from the Source structure: ItemCode, ItemDesc, ItemUOM.
What I really would like is the documentation on the constants that I need to provide to MATMAS05 to let the material be successfully created upon sending from XI.
Right now, I'm getting an error "The numeric material number 100000032 was transferred without leading zeros"
MSGFN is currently "009" is this right?
Also, I need to create the material using the customer material code, therefore I mapped it to "BISMT" which is the "Old material code" is this correct?
    Thanks!

  • Generating mapping documentation in BW

    Hi all,
I am looking for a mapping documentation in BW, that shows me the data flow from cube to datasource in detail for every concerned info object in an overview.
That must be more comfortable than the lists I get from the metadata repository and download able.
Has anybody made experience to enhance this documentation feature? Or has created an own mapping documentation that is available for me?
I would appreciate any comments and hints. Thanks.
    Ingo.

Sorry. I clicked the link to the post in an email and didn't
spot the category was RoboHelp for Word. The Snippet was about
inability to create a printed document rather than being able to
create one but not exclude certain contents.
I think there was a post a couple of months back similar to
yours and that the consensus was you cannot prevent the index being
    created using RoboHelp for Word.

  • Need billing text field name for IDoc mapping

    Hi Friends,
our users use CRM web application to send orders to SAP via IDocs. They want to have billing text (In German it is called Rechnungstext or Faktura text) so that they can enter some text here if they want to enter something. My question is, what is the field name and IDoc segment for billing text? We need this information to map in XI.
    Br, Sats.

    The solution is:
The standard Idoc text segment can be used for the text in sales order. From SD side the text types have to be customized. This is necessary for the XI mapping.

    Sats.

  • PMW CTX format record 6 field 7 - need help mapping it

We went live in 2007 on ERP6.0 and used the Payment Medium Workbench for our ACH payments.  The person who did the original config has left and I now need assistance to fix an issue.  We were told at go live that our field FPAYH/BKREF should be mapped to our NACHA record 6 field 7 (the Identification Number field).  Recently we discovered that the field has been blank since our go live.  As I look at the ACH US Domestic payment transactions USA config.  I can see the 00, 05, 20, 30, and 40 Events activated.  It appears the Event 30 - Order/transaction record may control the mapping I am needing to correct.
How do I go about correcting the field (without modifying the SAP code directly?).  We can see in the ABAP code that the field 7 just has a SPACE in it instead of the FPAYH/BKREF field.  Could someone provide the step by step of what I need to do?  Do I need to create a new event 31, make changes there and if so how do I activate the new event??  Or is there a place in config that I should be seeing that I can just change the SPACE to the appropriate field??
    Please advise!!

    Hi Cindy,
check the user exits in program RFFOEXIT. A technical guy should be able to help you out on this. Exit 100 - 120 is for USA.

  • Need you help !!! -- datasource field to ECC table mapping for 0material

    Dear experts:
Recently we need to get a quick turnaround on the fields we would be bringing into BW through standard extractors for the tables MARC and MBEW. My idea is to look at those master data extractors like 0MATERIAL, 0PLANT and then try to find how fields in datasource mapped to ECC table.
So now I have 2 questions need your suggestion:
    1. Is my way above feasible or any other way to get the fields mapping information for one specific table (Not datasource) ?
    2. For 0MATERIAL_ATTR, I can neither find the table of origin for those datasource fields in SAP Library, nor in Tcode LBWE (Seems LBWE only for transaction data?). Can anybody give me a link for the fields mapping of 0MATERIAL and 0PLANT? or let me know where I can find those mapping information?
Any reply would be appreciated and thank you all in advance !
    Best Regards
    Tim

Well, the idea is simple. If you are using master data, then the easiest way is to find out which table is the master data stored. For eg. Material master data is stored in MARA table. Therefore 0MATERIAL_ATTR fetches data from the MARA table.
The next option is to check the function module.
    1) Goto RSO2, and enter the data source name->display. The system wil throw a warning giving you the FM.
    2) For eg. 0MATERIAL_ATTR will throw the error "DataSource 0MATERIAL_ATTR is extracted using functional module MDEX_MATERIAL_MD".
3)Go to SE37, and put the FM->display. Then go to the tables tab. You will see tables like BIW_MARA_S. The middle term is usually the table.
Another option is go to table RSGENFIELDMAP and put the field in the field selection. This would give the mapping.
    Regards.
