SAP R/3 Plug-in ???

Hi,
I searched for information about the R/3-plug-in and I found following website:

Description: ...SAP R/3 Plug-Ins are interfaces which enable the exchange of data between one or several SAP R/3 systems and other SAP components....
Know I wolud like to test the R/3-Plug-in (interfaces), but how can I do this? What should I test (ALE, LSMW...)??? Which interfaces???
I can't find any detailed information about the R/3-Plug-in (interfaces...). Any Idea?

SAP declare:
"SAP R/3 Plug-In Support Package 10 for SAP R/3 Plug-In 2004.1 (scheduled for delivery in November 2005) will require SAP Basis Plug-In 2005.1"
I have an R/3 4.6c with PI 2004.1 and a BW 3.0B with PI_BASIS 2003.1.
Why using a mistake combination I work right?
Are there some restriction using this combination?

Plug in compatability between BW plugin in R/3 and BI - R/3 upgrade to ECC6

Hello,
we are running SAP NetWeaver BI 7.0 Release 700 Patch 19.
Our underlying R/3 system is still 4.6C with plugin 2004_1_46C ( yes, I know it is time )
We are upgrading R/3 to ECC6 with plug in P701 Patch 3.
Questions:
1.) I would like to know where exactly I can see which ECC6 plugin is copmpatible with our BI Version.
2.) Did anyone who has upgraded to ECC6 experience any particular issues when upgrading the plugin?
3.) Sense check of approach - so far the simplistic idea from a BW perspective is:
New R/3 system has been created and connected to BW :
1.)     In BW ACTIVATE SOURCE SYSTEM
2.)     In source system connection option : Replicate datasources and activate
3.)     Transfer global settings u2013 first simulate then update tables u2013 no rebuild should be necessary
Before the Plugin P 701 in the R/3 ( ECC6 ) system can be upgraded the BW delta queues need to be cleared in the source system ( R/3.)
4.)     Clear out V3 queue either via BW as part of the jobplan ( or manually via RSA7 but would mean loss of data )
5.)     After run of batch schedule during posting free period check in RSA7 for entries in delta queue - should be empty
                     now.
6.)     Does the clearing of the delta might need to be run twice to clear the queue completely ?????
8.)                 Deactivate logistics cockpit via SBIW ...LEBW ( is this mandatory ? )
9.)                 If delta queues are empty and the logistics cockpit is deactivated then upgrade the plug ins in R/3
10.)               Then repeat step 1-3 and reactivate the logistics cockpit again

8.) Deactivate logistics cockpit via SBIW ...LEBW ( is this mandatory ? ) - I think you just need to desachedule the collection jobs alone and not deactivate the LO Extractors and activate them once again...

CJ20N is not working in SAP ECC 6.0

In my SAP ECC 6.0 I log in SPANISH and launch tcode: CJ2ON - Project Builder and it transaction code does not work my session hangs and the message in the status bar is:

SWUF is workflow runtime system administration? Seems it disappeared in 4.6 or 4.7.
Try SWDC_RUNTIME and SWDC_DEFINITION - not sure if they are in ECC6.

Thanks a lot give Information to me, but the problem is when iam going to install the SAP GUI 640, All add ons are there except BI Add on, How can I select that Add on. Now what can I do suggest me. Hope I need latest SAP GUI right?, if I need latest one from where I can get it.

Help! Plug-In SLL_PI 720_46C needed to use GTS 72 together with R/3 4.6C?

Hi together,
maybe anybody can help me with my question:
We want to use GTS 7.2 together with ERP 4.6C. Do I have to install additionally the plug-in SLL_PI720_46C in my feeder system? Or is it ok if I have only the standard plug-in PI2004_1_46C, SP14 installed? Do I need both?

I believe in your case it would be sufficient to install the GTS7.2 plug-in. SAP changed its plug-in strategy for GTS 7.2 and went from the plug-in that comes pre-installed with ECC 6.0 to a separate GTS plug in for 7.2.
I also have used GTS 7.2 with the "old" plug-in which you're referring to. This will work for the basic Compliance and Customs functionality but I am guessing that you would run into issues when trying to use functionality that is new in GTS 7.2.

I have installed the new SAP note for the 1099 from for Tax year of 2010 (note Nr.1535966).
at Step 7 when I upload the IDWTFILE_US_1042.XML file, the activation of this files fails and gives the following error messages:

I used the trx SMARTFORMS to upload all of the forms mentioned. This earlier thread with one of my questions answered might be helpful to you.
OSS Note 1535966 - a Smartforms question
Also, you may need to change the package for some of the forms to ID-FI-US as the note suggests. Use trx SE03 to change the package for a form that might not already be in package ID-FI-US.
We only use form MISC and none of the others, but I uploaded and did the note steps for all anyway.
I think this note lacks a bit of clarity.

I have applied all suggestions in my new fiori system from Masayuki Sekihara posted on his post.
but still I am getting same error message.
I got below error message.
1) If I selected a EC6FIORI system alias to ZTASKPROCESSING services then i got below error message.

LiveCache for SAP HCM Idocs ECC6EHP4 on windows/mssql

Hello Gurus,
We am trying to process inbound HR Idoc (message type HRMD_A) from a java system and during the process it stucks in error code 51 and error message says - "Unable to establish connection to LiveCache".
Now we dont have any Livecache setup here but we built the system based upon a system copy and i can see some LiveCache system maintained there in tcode DB59 and DBACOCKPIT but we dont have those systems in our landscape as the system copy was from SAP originally.
Now the question is Do we need LiveCache for SAP HR HCM module specifically to proess HR Idocs (inbound only, outbound process works fine).
I read a lot of stufff on live cache technology but i think that is required only for SAP SCM(Supply chain management).
If i need to install livecache what would be the ideal steps, currently my ECC EHP4 system is on windows 2003 server/ MSSQL 2005.
Do i need to install MAXDB along with MSSQL to support livecache as its only supported on MaxDB(correct me if i am wrong).
Any reply will be highly appreciated.

SolMon 3.2, Difference between SolMon report and Service .sap report?

last week i found one strange thing, there are differences between the reports of our local SoMon server report and report from service.sap (service message).
why there will be difference like this, Please help me in this regards.

Hello Every One,
Can some one explain me in simple words about the terms, Plug-ins, SUpport Packs, Service Packs, Add-in's, SAP Notes and how R3 and BW are interdependant in the above mentioned terms? Can anyone give a simple example?

Additional program which enhances the functionality of an existing program. Additional functions which may not be needed or are mutually exclusive are often implemented as plug-ins.
For example ICMAN contains various plug-ins for the various network protocols which it supports (HTTP, SMTP, FTP,...).
The interface between mySAP.com components (for example, SAP APO, SAP BBP, SAP BW, SAP CRM) and one or more SAP R/3 systems.
The SAP R/3 Plug-In unites the plug-ins APO-CIF, CRM-R3A, BW-BCT and B2B-PRO-PI. This simplifies maintenance significantly and guarantees compatibility between the individual mySAP.com components. With SAP R/3 Plug-In, you can use several mySAP.com components simultaneously in a single system. SAP R/3 Plug-In supplies the mySAP.com component transaction data and master data in real time.
Technically, there are two versions of each release of the SAP R/3 Plug-In, a PI version and a PI-A version.
The technical names of the software components are PI and PI_A
SUpport Packs
A set of corrections for serious software errors in the SAP system.
Support Packages are compiled periodically and made available in the SAP Service Marketplace.
Service Packs
A grouping of different services for a quotation.
A service package can be agreed between a service provider and a customer within a service contract or as part of a complex service plan, which can also be additionally agreed in a service contract.
EXAMPLE
A "Winter Car Check" service package containing the following services is agreed in a contract:
Cooling water check
Brake fluid check
Battery inspection
Light inspection
Add-in's
add-ins are enhancements to the standard version of the system. They can be inserted into the SAP System to accommodate user requirements too specific to be included in the standard delivery. Since specific industries often require special functions, SAP allows you to predefine these points in your software

R3 and BW are interdependant
Then BW takes the Data from R/3 : so there has to be Support Pluggins which are mapped to the BW server.So the SAP Supported R/3 Versions should be used.
Eg: SAP Stoped the Support for r/3 4.0 series
