SAP R/3 to 3rd party BPM

Can some one help me to find a solution to  integrate SAP R/3 to a 3rd party BPM suite.
I do know we can use XI -> SAP R/3 - XI - BPM.
I would like to know which is the best method is it File, idoc, rfc or anything more than this which i am not aware off...
Your response will be greatly appreciated.

Hi Shivakumar ,
your question is not that much of clear..,
My understanding of your question is : The integration depends upon transfer the data in between two systmes.if the data from sender system is in which form and the target system receives in which form.. this rerquirement will guide to you by using which method you can acheive this..,
Hope you can understand ..

  • Accessing SAP Transaction Screen from 3rd party Application

    Hi friends
We have a requirement where we want to access a transaction screen in SAP from a 3rd party application.
Can anybody guide us, as to how can this be done through ITS, if at all its possible??
    Kindly guide...
    Thanks in Advance

what sort of 3rd party application, you wanted to show the sap gui screenin the 3rd party application?
if its a web application, then you can just embedd the sap gui screen using frame/iframe with its url for that transaction.
if its a windows based desktop application, you can use sapgui scripting to do the same.

  • Communication between SAP e-recruitment and 3rd party website

    Hi,
We are implementing e-recruitment module and would like to know how to transport a recruitment advertisement created in SAP e-Recruitment to a job website. Should we use IDOC and XI? Or is there some other way of doing it? How does SAP e-Recruitment communicate with the 3rd party website? The advertisement should be transported in a way that it can be directly displayed on the job website, with all the formatting intact.
Please let me know in detail how the functionality can be achieved.

    Hi Rosalin,
There are various ways to do so
    1.  Off line solution: You can write an ABAP report and download flat file or excel and that can becom the input for your
          application.
    2. On Line solution : Develop an Remote Enabled FM(this FM will provde the required details) and develop a web service
(using .net or java )  Call this web service through your application.
Idoc and XI's are some of the other alternatives you have.
    Hope this helps.

  • BRFPlus - license with NW fundation for 3rd party - SAP PO applies ?

    Hi,
I got the impression that in order to use BRFPlus we need to have SAP NW fundation license for 3rd party,
does anyone know, if we have SAP PO (process orchestration) which has a restricted SAP NW fundation license for 3rd party
(to be used only with BPM, PI and BRM), can we use BRFPlus from PI ?
    Thank you for any comments,
    Regards,
    Michal Krawczyk

    Hi Michal,
no idea about the licensing question, but I think you need an additional license due to the Java stack, but this has to be answered by an expert of SAP.
Concerning the usage of BRFplus from PI: The only way I know to use the BRFplus functions from PI is via webservices generated out of the functions.
The other way round is a little more comfortable as you can use the BRMS Connector expression.

  • Posting entries in SAP based on based on Transactions in 3rd Party App

    Hi All,
One of our customers is in the service business i.e. they provide repairing services for parts. For them we have to develop an add-on(UDO)  to capture information of the parts alongwith the progress of the part through various stages. The customer also uses a 3rd party application for details of the repair work done on each part.
For this scenario, there is a requirement of the 3rd party application getting info from SAP about the parts to be repaired. In this application, details such as BOM, quantity of inventory (i.e. of components inside the part) are required. The components consumption happens in this application which needs to update the relevant stock levels in real-time in SAP. Also, once the repair process is over, the application needs to pass information to the SAP add-on for further processing such as packing and dispatch.
The 3rd-party application has more than 200 users. For this to be successfully interfaced with SAP, we have thought of a central server component i.e. a windows application that will interface between the legacy application & SAP
For this scenario, we have few queries and would appreciate your assistance on the following:
    1. Since there are multiple things that are done in the 3rd party application, how can we have the Windows application listen to all the events (RFC or legacy application database update events).
    2. If the windows application needs to listen to the legacy application database, how can it listen to multiple tables/events at the same time as different user will be performing different actions at the same time in the legacy application.
    3. Even if we create multiple applications to listen to the database updates, what will be the license requirement to post relevant entries in SAP (DI API connections will be required for: 1. Posting Goods Issue & Receipt in SAP 2. Update UDOsx2)
    4. Performance issues due to 3 listeners and posting entries in SAP (approx 2000 entries/day)
    5. If the listener concept wont work then in case of RFC, there will be 200 DI connections required to SAP - does that translate to 200 SAP licenses?
An alternate to this solution is we register the tables of the 3rd party application as a UDO as well in SAP. What will be license requirements for this? 200 licenses?
With this approach, we can use the SBO Transaction notification stored procedure in the Windows application to trigger relevant updates in SAP - does this sound like a better solution?
We are in a fix now and need more feedback to take this further. We  request your expert advice on this matter to clarify the ambiguity at the earliest.
    Thanks & Regards,
    Gyanesh Rupani

    Dear All,
Any view on how this can be achieved?

  • RFC( SAP R/3)  to  XI  to  3rd party Application

    Hi All,
we have an 3rd party application to which we want to send some data from R/3. We are using XI as the middleware. The process has to be triggered from R/3 side. We are not using Idoc's here. We are planing to use the RFC through which the data transfer has to be done.
We are creating a BAPI with import, export and tables parameters.Basically the RFC is in SAP R/3 System. We need to send the data in the table to XI.
In this case how the RFC destination has to be created and how the RFC to be called in the R/3 system to export the Data to XI system.
    Answers are highly appreciated.
    Thanx and Regards,
    Durga.

    Hi,
<i>>>>In this case how the RFC destination has to be created</i>
Check this blog by Michal it shows you step by step
    /people/michal.krawczyk2/blog/2005/03/29/configuring-the-sender-rfc-adapter--step-by-step
<i>>>>how the RFC to be called in the R/3 system to export the Data to XI system.</i>
Hope you are aware of normal way of calling function
    CALL Function "FM Name"
    Export
    Tables
in this case the RFC should be called as follows
CALL Function "FM Name" destination <SM59 Destination>
    Export
    Tables
The above is for Sync call and if you want to make a Async call that is you are not expecting any reponse from the target then
CALL Function "FM Name" IN BACKGROUND TASK destination <SM59 Destination>
    Export
    Tables
    Thanks,

There are abot 3000 documents in the third party software, now the challege is how we  must have to migrate the DATA from 3rd party software to SAP DMS with creating Dirs. Are there any upload programmes suffice the requirement or any development needs to be done or any possibilities.

    Hi,
from DMS point of view I think that SDXA functionality could also be useful for this action. For further information on SXDA functions please see SAP note 817743.

In order to use RFC as sender need to configure the below
    SAP Side
RFC destination of type T using SM59 tcode
    PI side
RFC destination of TYPE t type using same tcode
Note the progid provided should be same in both RFC destionations
Then during execution of RFC in SAP side need to provide the RFC destionation created there

  • 3rd party to sap using HTTP adapter

    Hi Folks,
I'm sending some IDOC to sap from the 3rd party. I have to use HTTP adapter as sender and IDOC as receiver adapter.
Can you please suggest me how to configure teh sender side. As I know there will be no such configuration for the sender adapter as it is HTTP then how the HTTP adapter will get the data sent by the 3rd party and how it will pass it on to the idoc adapter ?

  • SAP to 3rd party: EDI and XI: Needed advantages and disadvantages

    HI All,
I have a requirement to sent PO data from SAP to 3rd party Vendors.(more than 30 vendors). Client insists on using EDI.!!
I have completed the config on SAP R/3 side and IDOCS are created in SAP R/3.
Since we have XI in the landscape, I have a few questions in my mind. Appreciate if you could give you feedback on these questions:
    1. Should we send data directly from SAP to 3rd party using EDI adapter and avoid XI.
    2. I assume EDI adapter will automatically convert IDOC to vendor format data and vice-versa.
    3. All 30+ vendors will need to access this EDI adapter system or do they all need to have a separate one installed in there landscape.
    4. If we use XI, will the adapter be able to communicate to XI. If yes what is the adapter name which connects to XI.
    5. All vendors need this data in a slightly different format, so will the EDI adapter do the format conversion for every vendor ?
    6. Since all vendors have a diff file format needed, I want to avoid doing extensive message mapping in XI. So can the EDI adapter handle it or is ther any easy way to do this mapping.
    7. If mapping is not possible, then does it mean I will have to create a separate IDOC for each vendor in R/3 ( in vendor specific format) and send that to them.
    Thanks in advance.
    Regards
    Shirin

    Hi,
    1) Should we send data directly from SAP to 3rd party using EDI adapter and avoid XI.
    A) For EDI integration u need to have the EDi adapters and for that u need to purchase the seeburger license and which is need to be installed on XI and after that only u can use EDi adapter with Xi.
    U can not ignore XI.
    2. I assume EDI adapter will automatically convert IDOC to vendor format data and vice-versa.
    A) Yes but only when u purchase the seeburger license. there are other ways as well either use conversion agent or module program which convert the XML to EDI format.
    3. All 30+ vendors will need to access this EDI adapter system or do they all need to have a separate one installed in there landscape.
    A) U have to use the EDI adapters with Xi and configure ur scenario in XI for all the vendors.
    4. If we use XI, will the adapter be able to communicate to XI. If yes what is the adapter name which connects to XI.
    A) Seeburger provide As2,X400,FTP,VAn adapters for EDi integration.
    5. All vendors need this data in a slightly different format, so will the EDI adapter do the format conversion for every vendor ?
    A) What EDI format ur vendor receivers the data it depends upon that.
    6. Since all vendors have a diff file format needed, I want to avoid doing extensive message mapping in XI. So can the EDI adapter handle it or is ther any easy way to do this mapping.
    A) Mapping is the part of desing and mapping changes accroding to the business requirement and mapping rule which is provided by Functional people.
    7. If mapping is not possible, then does it mean I will have to create a separate IDOC for each vendor in R/3 ( in vendor specific format) and send that to them.
    A) u need to do the mapping between IDOC and EDi then only the data will be mapped with the required target EDI strcuture.
