SAP Recruitment Solution vs Taleo

Hi all,
Does anyone have experience of integrating R3 with Taleo for a recruitment solution? Is there any point doing this because SAP HCM contains the necessary recruitment and candidate management capabilities already?
Is it a complex/costly integration piece? Interested in any implementation stories you may have and perhaps even "don't even think about it" responses...

1.Will the use of SAP BO Rapid Marts for Inventory instead of SAP BW be suitable here? Obviously the attraction here are the benefits, ready made universes, reports, data model based on the standard available with use of Rapid Marts..
Why did your customer decided for BW in the first place? Compare those reasons against the benifits of Rapid Marts and you can build a reliable decision template on this. Note that Rapid Marts are not designed to consolidate data from several systems.
2.As I understand it, one can have only 1 Rapid Mart for each ERP Vendor. Is it even possible to build a rapid mart for a legacy system made up of a DB and a Java front-end?
Rapid marts include the following components:
1) Mappings for the BOBJ Data Services (ETL tool)
2) Universes
3) Reports
For sure you can build your own ETL mappings to load the legacy data in a warehouse residing in a relational database (r even in BW) and then build universes and reports on top of it. I would not call this a Rapid mart but it is a data mart/ datawarehouse.
3. Can we have say 3 Rapid Marts, 1 for Inventory planning for SAP, another for Sales and yet another for say Oracle ERP situated on 1 server?
Yes.
Note that for Rapid Marts you require additional a BO server and a BO data services license. There are bundled packages for those.

Product Costing in SAP Retail Solution

Hi experts
I have a question about product costing in SAP Retail (SAP ECC 6.0).
In material master data (Tr. MM43 - Tr. MM42) Product Costing view for Logistics:CD sheet is activated.
Although, for Logistics:Store sheet is not activated.
In customizing, we have tried to activate the Product Costing view for Logistics:Store sheet, but there no standard dynpro to use it. So, we have some doubts:
- Do we have to create customer (Z) dynpros in order to activate Product Costing view for Logistics:Store sheet?
- Does SAP allows Product Costing functionality in SAP Retail solution?
If both answers are YES, i have another doubt:
- In our business scenario, the store is supplied by the Distribution Center. So, does it make sense to run product costing for
a articles in a Store?
We think it makes sense to apply product costing functionality in Distribution center. In order to analyze deviations from
Standard costs to real costs. But we are not sure about Stores.
Does anyone have experience in customizing product costing functionality for a SAP retail in a Logistics:Store?

Product hierarchy in R3 is termed as Merchandise category hierarchy in SAP IS retail
But in R3 Product hierarchy is not used much but Merchandise category hierarchy that is termed as MCH is a basic thing reqd for defining master data that is article master data which is nothing but material master in R3
As i said Product hierarchy levels are available in R3 also but not much used
Merchandise category hierarchy levels is most commonly used in SAP IS retail
What we call material group in R3 is same as Merchandise category in SAP IS retail and material in R3 is article in Retail
Merchandise category hierarchy levels
Say a Retail mall has merchandise items
Under merchandise there are 2 divisions Food and non food
Under nonfood say there are 2 divisions say hardware and apparel
Under apparel there 2 divisions say Mens wear and ladies wear
Under mens wear you have t shirts,shirts and pants etc
Here t shirts,shirts and pants etc are individual articles
Menswear and ladies wear are material groups
Hardware and apparel are merchandise hierarchy level 1
Food and non food merchandise hierarchy level 2
Retail mall is merchandise hierarchy level 3
like that hierarchy levels are commonly defined and used as a must to have efficient master data in SAP retail and the maximum no of hierarchy to have ideally is 6 apart from Merchandise category
In our example we have defined three levels
The same functionality can be used as product hierarchy in R3 also but doesnt been put in to use much
In Retail the no of articles a store is going to manage to be will be huge hence this sort of seggregation is needed there must

Hi,
All there is a SWITCH to turn on the SAP Learning solution in the IMG.
Goto transaction SPRO and there under the IMG node Training and Event management, and Under SAP Learinig solution there is switch to turn on the Learing solution.
By Default Training and Event Management will be turned on, both TEM and LSO cannot be ON at once, only one of them can be truned on.

Handling Purchase Orders in SAP Learning Solution

Hi all,
We are currently looking into having purchase orders closely integrated in our SAP Learning Solution, meaning that all courses, internal and external, that comes with a prize have purchase order information on it. Meaning the manager approves the purchase order (and thereby the participation on the course) in a workflow.
The approval yields a course booking and Finance has all the needed information based on cost center and organization data.
Please help as we are currently seeing this task as almost impossible to handle in the current setup.

You wll have to mark ALL the correct options in order to gain that one full mark for a question.
And yes, pass marks is 55%. You are right.

Install Files Determination for "SAP Learning Solution" from SolMan

Hi Experts,
is it possible to determine what installation files one should download from Market Place to install the "SAP Learning Solution"?
A colleague of mine should install the "Learning Solution", and he asked me how can we identify the needed files in SolMan, so we could download them and install.
I looked in DSWP, and all I could find was Maintenance Optimizer, but that functionality can just identify the needed files for maintaining of already installed systems.
I wasn't able to find any info on SAP Support Portal either.
Can anyone point me in right direction?

Learning Solution. The notifications should be

each and every event, the subject line of notification

I have a requirement as you describe. A standard LSO notification (a prebooked course has been scheduled) is displayed in the portal and I need it to be automatically posted to the recipients through email.

For EP 7.0, you would have to go for BP for Learning 1.0.

I am not aware of any customer who has integrated SABA Centra with SAP Learning Solution. However there are several implementations of SAP Learning Solution integrated with Adobe Connect. Studying the documentation of this integration and talking to the consultants who have done such implementation might give you an idea of the skills required and the time taken. A good amount of documentation is available from the [book on SAP Enterprise Learning|http://www.sap-press.com/products/SAP-Enterprise-Learning.html] You may want to talk to the product owner Srinivasa Raghavachar to get his thoughts and additional documentation.
If possible ask your customer if they are willing to consider using Adobe Connect, which is part of SAP Enterprise Learning.

Forecasting at DP & CRM are altogether at different entities. CRM involves webbased data transfer mechanism tool whereas DP is database/livecache driven tool.
In CRM, you dont get optimised solution of forecasting out of it whereas in DP you can get as much as
optimised solution & flexibility as per your requirements.
DP is majorly a forecasting tool where in huge statistical method functionalities are embedded in
whereas CRM is majorly a transactional tool wherein it involves gathering of forecast data and executing it.
Typically, CRM will be integrated with DP containing GATP environment & ECC so that DP will plan for forecast data, ECC system drives sales order data & GATP calls for availability check and finally
the forecast execution& transactions will be controlled by CRM
