what is business blue print ?
    what are ASAP methodologies ?

    hi
    good
    BUSINESS BLUE PRINT->
This function documents the business processes in your company that you want to implement in the system. In a Business Blueprint for Projects, you create a project structure in which relevant business scenarios, business processes and process steps are organized in a hierarchical structure. You can also create project documentation and assign it to individual scenarios, processes or process steps. If you use the SAP Quality Center by HP, you can assign business test requirements to scenarios, processes or process steps. You then assign transactions to each process step, to specify how your business processes should run in your SAP Systems.
The Business Blueprint is a detailed description of your business processes and system requirements. You can print it out.

    ASAP Methodologies->
ASAP: Accelerated Systems Application and Products in Data Processing
All implementation projects have the the following phases:
Scoping - What is to be implemented i.e. which submodules are to be implemented some clients may not require credit management for example. Look at the project scope document carefully it will tell you what SAP sub-modules in SAP you should be prepared for. Usually the sales people along with project manager do it.
As is - Here you understand the existing business processes of the client . Your BPOcollect all the ISO-documentation (if client is ISO certified), reports and forms at this stage and you analyse how and when the reports/forms are generated, where the data is coming from. You also do a Level -2 training for your BPO so he is made aware of all the required transactions in SAP.
Once this is over BPO can start learning with the consultants help more about SAP. This is crucial because if you miss out any transactions the BPO may forget about some of his Business processes which may come up later. It is a good practice to ask the BPO to make flow charts to explain business processes.
To-Be - Parallely you map these processes to SAP. Processes that you are not sure of as to whether they are present in SAP or not you try to do a configuration of those processes, and along with the BPO(Business process owner he is the clients employee who knows about the clients business processes probably a middle management guy, ther can more than one), BPO involvement is required as he may be able to tell you his requirements better. Once you do the business modelling you
will also be made aware of the gaps between as-is and to-be , here decisons have to be made as to wether a ABAP development/system modification is required or not and so on. Involve the BPO as much as possible and document everything it is good practice do not be lazy about it.
Business blueprint: Here the as-is and to-be and gap analysis is explained. This is the document that you will be using to do your configuration in the realization phase.
Realization phase: Here you do the configuration in the development server (there are three clients -development,quality, production). You also decide on the master data format, so that BPO can go collect the master data. You also gove ABAP specifications for forms, reports etc, system modifications etc. Unit testing: Your BPOs and a few key users sit down and test your configuration in your module only. It is good to test the BDCs that you need for uploading data at this stage so you have more realistic data and your BDCs are tested.
    Integration testing:
Once all modules unit testing is over then the configuration is trasported to the Quality server, where testing for all the modules is done by BPOs and end user, this is to check if any problems are there in integration between various modules. Once all is okay from the QA server config is transported to the production server.
    Go live preparation
Data uploading: The collected master data is checked and the uploaded into production server(sever and client I have used interchangeably). Now you are ready for go live i.e. users can now use the production server.
Read ASAP methodology for more details you will understand better.
    Thirumallasetty
ASAP methodoligy means nothing but standard process for implementation of SAP,  It consists of 5 phases.
    1. Project preperation - consists of identifying team members and developing strategy as how to go.
    2. Business Blue print - consists of identifying the client current process, reqeirement and how SAP provides solution.
        Consists of detailed documentaion
    3. Realization -The purpose of this phase is to implement all the business and process requirements based on the
        Business Blueprint.
4  Final Preparation - The purpose of this phase is to complete testing, end-user training,

  • Need to call a Report Painter Report with filtered selection criteria

    Hello All,
I have created a Report through which I am calling a Report Painter Program 'Z443'  as I have to first filter out the selections and then pass it to the Report Painter Report.
I tried the following two ways and found these problems :
    1. Submit (program) with selection-table ..... and Return.
The output had many entries i.e the parameters were not passed correctly to the Report Painter Report.
    2. Tried using the FM ' CRIF_RW_WEB_CALL_REPORT '.
The transaction for the Report Painter is opening but selections from the first Report is not being transferred.
Please help if you have worked on any similar requirements .
    Thanks!

  • Reg:report painter reports adding into sap menu

    HI all,
    HI all
How to add reports painter reports in sap menu.?
    regards
    JK Rao

Hi, Janardhan Rao & all other Readers of SAP Net work site,
        Private nodes
Private nodes are no longer supported in the area menus and are
not taken into account during migration. As a replacement, the
favorites are available in the Easy Access.
Including of own report trees in the menu structure
In order to include your own area menus generated from the report
trees into the displayed menu, you can either include the menus
as enhancements in the SAP Menu or include them into the menu of
a role. To do this, read the documentation on Transactions SE43
               and PFCG.
Client dependency of the report trees
If you have used different report trees for different clients,
you can carry out the migration several times in the
corresponding clients. As a result, you receive several
               cross-client area menus.
        Further information
Also read the Release information BC_46_REPTREEMIG2. You find
this information in every system under Help -> Release notes ->
Complete list from Rel. 4.0 -> Release notes as at 4.6A,
Component BC-FES-SEM, document "Change to area menus and report
               trees".

  • SAP upgrade - questions for report painter and query

    Hi Experts,
I have two quwstions of SAP upgrade.
My requirement is: SAP upgrade from 4.6B to ECC 6.0 with non-unicode.
1.Does SAP upgrade influence the report painter? If influence, could you tell me what should I do for this case.
    2. We have so many queries (SQ01) in our system and many of them haven't been run for a long time. we need a tool to get the runtimes of queries in a certain durition.
For example: From 2008/01/01 to 2008/03/31,I want to know how many queries had been run/ query name/ runtimes of each query.
    Best regards,

    > 1.Does SAP upgrade influence the report painter? If influence, could you tell me what should I do for this case.
    You can check
Note 1155524 - ReportWriter: Upgrade Issues ECC6.0 -Common Customer Issues
    > 2. We have so many queries (SQ01) in our system and many of them haven't been run for a long time. we need a tool to get the runtimes of queries in a certain durition.
Such a tool was RBE (Reverse Business Engineer) - which is out of support.
You can try to get that information from ST03. If that is not enough there's no other way than booking an SLO service to find out the queries that have not been used (http://service.sap.com/slo).

  • Report painter report in portal - Excel output in SAP GUI for HTML

    Dear sirs,
I need your expertize. I would like to let my users display (Excel in place)/ save the result of my report painter reports into MS Excel. I have found notes 499262 a 314568, but didn´t understand the message (or there is no message:)). Does that mean I cannot use Excel in place together with Report painter and SAP GUI for HTML?
Second question: is there a place (user exit in generated code? I don´t even know what I am looking for) to get the data provided by the report painter engine and send the retrieved data to some custom function (to be able to call the Adobe form, to save it as a text file or any option how to manipulate the resulting data...?).
thank you for your time and effort,
    regards Otto

    Hi Otto,
You can send print the report to the spool and then use RSTXPDFT4 program to convert this spool to PDF file. Alternatively, you can export the spool to spreadsheet or ASCII file via SP01 transaction.
Additinally, I'm not aware of unability to use Excel output with SAP GUI interface.

    Eli

  • SAP Report Painter (Drill down)

    Hi, SAP Experts,
I'm Henry. This is my first post on SCN.
I'm trying to solve a problem on drill down report of report painter.
I don't have much experiences. I really need your help.
The problem is that I developed one report painter (Balance Sheet) and one query (Line item report by account code).
I put the query on the report painter as drill down report. So, when I click a row on the report painter,
It should go to the query and see appropriate data on it.
However, somehow, company code is NOT copied to the query. Therefore, the result is the query shows all compnies data.
*My client has several compnay codes.
    <Example>
[Selection field on the report painter (BS)]
       *Table: FAGLFLEXT
       1. Company code: "A1"
       2. Fiscal Year: "2014"
       3. Fiscal Month: "3"
[Selection field on the query (Line item report by account code)]
       *Logical DB: SDF
       1. Company code: blank  (This is the problem. I need to know why the company code isn't copied)
       2. Account code: xxxxxxxxx (The account code is copied from the report painter. This is no problem.)
       3. Fiscal Year: "2014" (No problem)
       4. Fiscal Month: "3" (No problem)
*After clicking a row on the report painter, I can see all companise data on the query. The query should give only one company which is selected.
If you have any solution or knowledge, could you please share it with me?
If you give me some advice, I would really appreciate it.
    Best Regards,
    Henry

  • Report Painter and SAP Query

Can someone explain to me output differences between the above two?
Thanks, n point will be awarded

    Hi,
ABAP Queries are extremely useful: they can retrieve data from tables and logical databases alike. ABAP Queries permit a ‘snapshot' of the current R/3 data.
SAP has made it possible for R/3 users to develop queries using little, if any, ABAP code. However, knowing table and fields (data schema) and some SQL knowledge (outer-joins/inner-joins, etc.) is still required.
ABAP Query reports are typically simple listing and totaling reports (unlike a balance sheet or an income statement requiring complex groupings – for example, a cash or revenue line consisting of several accounts on a financial statement). Such complex groupings require the query to read various tables multiple times to appropriately total and sort the accounts. For complex tasks such as this, the other R/3 tools (such as Report Painter which uses “sets” for these groupings) are better suited for reports with complex and integrated groupings.
    Thanks,
    Dishant

  • Interface between business ware house system and SAP SD module

    hi,
I want to develop interface between business ware house system(file adapter) and SAP SD module.  how can i post the data into SD system? can any one tell me which Idoc i should use in receiver side?
if i want to go abap proxy how can do it?
give some inputs(methods which i should use)
    Thanks in advance
    regards
    Ruban

    Hey
the selection of IDOC depends upon what you wanna post into SD.get in touch with the ABAP guys and they should be able to tell u exactly which IDOC to use.
once u have decided on IDOC,you can go for a File to IDOC scenario.
as far as proxies are concerned, they kinda give better performance compared to IDOC but you need to do ABAP coding for them,in that case u dont need any IDOC
    Thanx
