I am looking SAP SCM Security tcodes and tables that are used on daily basis like in R/3 ECC SU01,SU10,SE10,SU01,PFCG,SU24,SE16,SE11,SE38,su21,su20 etc.

In this guide you'll be able to find definition of roles and responsibilities when implementing GRC. You'll understand that Auditors should take a GRC course also; GRC it's a tool that involves a lot of areas. If you've been working with SAP authorizations so far, you won't have problems understanding GRC, you should read the corresponding guides and you'll be able to "map" your company requirements via system configuration.

SCM authorizations

We are planning on upgrading APO 3.0 (ancient, I know) to SCM...will be setting up a new landscape, project team, quality testers, production users (eventually).
Is anything in old APO 'salvageable ' from a role perspective, or is this really a 'start from scratch' activity? I have also heard rumblings from our business customers that they want 'more' security in SCM than they have currently in APO - separate certain divisions and companies possibly.
Does anyone have any experience with SCM security? Are the SAP delivered roles any good, or do they need a lot of tweaking and testing adjustments? We find in other 'bolt ons' that many more auth checks are performed by various programs that have to be incorporated into roles - wondering if we can expect the same in SCM.
Can anyone relate their experience with SCM auths?

The DP and SNP roles are very useful. They are good starting points. You can use pretty much use the same roles defined in [Roles in SAP SCM|http://help.sap.com/saphelp_scm50/helpdata/en/43/4ec7101c091dede10000000a422035/frameset.htm].
The detailed objects are explained in [Authorization in Supply Network and Demand Planning|http://help.sap.com/saphelp_scm50/helpdata/en/21/f6253b90e48743e10000000a11402f/frameset.htm].
I am not that experienced in 3.0 to 5.0 transition of authorizations, but most of the 3.0 objects are retained in 5.0 but some of them are obsolete such as C_APO_SEL2 . But strangely they are still used....
In one of my previous projects, we started of with the standard roles and since the same user can not be used for all users we created Z roles adding, changing objects as needed.
For example, not all users need to have authorization for all planning books. I want to restrict my SNP users to display the DP books and display and edit the SNP planning books.
The same for DP, they should be able to display the SNP books and both display and edit the DP books. SO we modify the existing roles and created Z roles...
Overall in my experience, I see that SAP delivered roles are good starting points and as always since the client requirements vary, we end up creating zroles.

SAP SCM 5.10 with F&R - Update SAP Netweaver 7.0 to 7.0 EHP2 (702)

Hello Experts,
almost all of our SAP-System has now SAP Netweaver 7.0 EHP2 (702) Abap-Stack.
The last system that we will update is a "SAP SCM 5.10" with the F&R component. The mean software level is:
SAP Basis               700 SP23
SCM SCEMSRV      5.1 SP16
SCM                        5.1 SP15
FRP-Kernel                   SP15
To update the SAP-Neatweaver componet to EHP2 have we do an upgrade for the SCM-Server or the SCM itself and what will be now the target relase?
In the documentation is this not realy clear for us.

finally for NW 7.0 EHP2 you need to upgrade F&R to F&R 5.1 on SCM 7.0 EHP1.

I need a good document for learning Authorizations structuring and hierarchy in SAP BIW 3.5 . I am giving authorizations in BIW but do not hv conceptual nd fundamentalistic knowledge of SAP BW authorizations and its structure . Use these steps for authorizations,
1.before going to authorizations u have to decide on which Infoobject u have to apply authorizations.
EX: SD--- Sales Org, MM -> palnt ,purorg,FI> companycode.
first u ahve to decide which area & on which Infoobject.
2.goto that Infoobject --> change there check the checkbox Authorization relavent object cahechbox
2.after that U Have to goto RSSM there u have to create authorization object
Ex: Zxxx ( XXX is Infoobject Name ).
3. In the same transaction Screen u have Infocube selection radio Button check that then select on which cube(cube means under that cube all Quaries) u have to make authorization for that perticuler Infoobject.
4.next goto PFCG create role & save it
5.goto Authorization tab in that selct edit authorization it will give automatiaclly authorization Templates in that u have to select only S_RS_RREPU & press Enter.
6. Select manual pushbutton it will ask authorisation object enter ur authorization object what u have created ( zxxx) .
7.click generate +enter
8. goto user tab Enter userId+enter + click on usercomparision+ enter
9.save the role.
FOR HIRARCHIES:
1. goto RSSM There u have one rediobutton called authorization hierarchy ( this radio button is very below the RSSM screen)
2. there u have to select Hierachy on which u have to apply authorization.

Urgent: Sending order05 IDOC from R/3 to ICH (SAP SCM) through SAP XI

Hi All
I have requirement where I have to send Order05 IDOC from SAP R/3 (ECC 6) to ICH (SAP SCM 5) through SAP XI (PI 7).
I came to know that there is one standard scenario in SAP SCM Basis content in integration repository.
I never done any XI development, please guide me with the useful links or whole step by step process. I will be very thankful for your inputs.

Send IDoc from SAP SCM to XI

Hi,
Can somebody give me step by step procedure to send IDoc form SAP SCM to XI. We are not using ICH. IDoc is coming to SCM through EDI. Once it is posted in SCM, we want to send it to XI. We had a option of sending directly to XI through EDI connectivity, but for some reason we want to post it in SCM and then send it to XI.

sending IDOCs to XI is always the same
apart from documents section in the XI FAQ (link below)
when you can find some IDOC weblogs
you can also find lots of configuration examples for IDOC-XI scenarios in my book:

Sender is IDOC so no need to take any communication channel & sender agreement in ID window.

I am currently working in a project which I need to send the PO IDOC to PI (which is working fine) and convert it to xml and send it to SNC system which is SAP SCM system. I am not sure if this is going to be an IDOC or xml , I wasn't given more information as all of us are new to this SNC environment. Any help would highly appreciated.

Following are the interface mappings in use for the Purchase Order scenario from ERP to SNC
1. create purchase order -> display PO (ERP to SNC)

2. Create or change PO -> Display updated PO (ERP to SNC)

3. Confirm PO or change in web UI (SNC to ERP)

4. Create or Change Purchase Order -> Receive and Display Purchase Order (ERP to SNC)

Just configure the Integration scenario "MaintainPurchase_Order_Processing" from http://sap.com/xi/SNC/Global namespace present in SNC 5.1 SWC
in your ID.
In SNC Scenarios Idocs will be sent and received from ERP and ABAP Proxies (Client/ Server) used at SNC side. You do not have to code for the ABAP Proxies as the proxies will already be inmplemented in your SNC system.
So 1. configure your SNC system for ABAP Proxy configuration
2. Configure the Integration scenario "MaintainPurchase_Order_Processing" in ID
3. Configure your ERP system for IDoc send/ receive
You are done.

I am especially interested about best practices, tips and recommendations for using and developing SAP SCM and SAP APO. Apart from what DB has suggested. you should give a good reading on the following.
-Consulting Notes (use the application component filters in search notes)
-Collective Notes (similar to the one above)
-Release Notes
-Release Restrictions
-If $$ permit subscribe to www.scmexpertonline.com. Good perspective on concepts around SAP SCM.
-There are a couple of blogs (e.g. www.apolemia.com) .. but all lack breadth.. some topics in depth.
-"Articles" section on this site (not all are classified well.. see in ECCops, mfg, SCM, Logistics etc)
-Serivce.sap.com- check the solution details overview in knowledge exchange tab. There are product presentations and collaterals for every release. Good breadth but no depth.
-Building Blocks - available for all application areas. This is limited to vanilla configuration of just making a process work and nothing more than that.
-Get the book "Sales and Operations Planning with SAP APO" by SAP Press. Its got plenty of easy to follow stuff, good perspective and lots of screen shots to make life easier.
-help.sap.com the last thing that most refer after all "handy" options (incl. this forum) are exhausted. Nevertheless, this is the superset of all "secondary" documents. But the maze of hyperlinks that start at APO might lead you to something like xml schema.
Key Tip: Appreciate that SAP SCM is largely driven by connected execution systems (SAP ECC/ERP). So the best place to start with should be a good overview of ERP OPS solution overview, at least at the significant level of depth.). Check this document at sdn wiki "ERP ops architecture overview".
I have some good collection of documents though many i havent read myself. If you need them let me know.

SAP SCM 7.0 and ERP 6.00 integration.

We should implement SCM-APO scenario using Sap SCM 7.0. The business process will be Demand Planning & Forecasting and Supply Network Planning. We need to connect the new SCM to ERP 6.0 (Sap Basis, ABA, AP 7.0 )
Which are the requirements about ERP 6.00 ? Is it need to install the EHP 4 on ERP 6.0 or no ?
I found on Sap Markeplace a .pdf about the architecture of SCM 7.0 but the integration with Sap ERP is not quite clear.

We also plan to install an SCM in 1 customer landscape.
According to SCM security guide SCM should be connected in secure way to ERP.
do you plan to establish secure communication between the 2 components?
BTW:
we do not plan to use PI in such scenario.In our case there is no real value in such recommendation.

SAP SCM Console error

Hi SAP Friends,
Iam using a SAP SCM IDES version 5.0. while posting transactions in SCM system the system dose not responce after 2 hours of starting the management Console. When i had a look at the management console the first instance status was ended and the message server was disconnected. When i shut down and restart the system SCM works fine for another 2 hour. This was happning for the past 2 days. Today when we tryed to run the console the following error poped up when i clicked on the Process List.
Getprocesslist failed: FFFFFFF
End of file or no input: "Unknown error"
All the status shows as Ended and the message server gets disconnected.
In the Syslog the following warning message is shown:
SAP-Basis System: Stop Msg Server, PID 1304
Avaiting responce from the SAP Gurus out there.

Career Prospects In SAP SCM

Hi everybody,
I am working in freight forwarding industry and having experience of more then 10 Years in various department right from documentation to sales. I have worked with shipping lines, Inland Container depot and freight forwarders. To enhance my skills and giving it a technical edge i want to do a training in SAP SCM. As I don't have any exposure to SAP except doing some documentation work on SAP based Shipping Lines.
I need your valuable suggestions on how should I go about it. Can I go for classroom learning directly or i need to have some experience with SAP based organizations prior to that.
What are the career prospects in SAP SCM.

i have done my Engineering from L.N.C.T . Indore. I know indore and its market, i don't think you will get any good training at Indore, so you have to move either Bangaluru, Pune/Mumbai or at Delhi NCR.
As at Bengaluru you will get tough competition with fellow SCM employee, so not suggested.
SCM market is good but its a domain specific , as i don't know much more about SCM , so just posting some useful links, from where you can gain knowledge. SCM market is consistent as far as i know, so take a foot ahead for a new begining, you will surely get what you wants .

IDES-Scenarios for SAP SCM APO?

Hello!
Lately I have been working with SAP ECC on an IDES system and help.sap.com provides nice example scenarios on how to use it (things like: how to specifiy production plans and orders for building a motor bike in the IDES-Company).
But now working with SAP SCM, and i cannot find any scenarios describing how to use the system with the included training data.
Anybody knows where the examples are or if they exist?

Integration ESRI with SAP SCM

We want to integrate ESRI (ArcLogistics software) and SAP SCM - APO.
After optimization running, we want to download route information to ESRI and display teh route as visual in GIS.
Is there any documentation about installing and connecting ?
