SAP SCs cannot be expanded on Local DCs view on NWDS

Hello,
I've created a new track and downloaded the configuration into NWDS.
The problem is that if I go to the Local DCs view and expand the DCs in the track I can see sap.com_EP_BUILDT_1, sap.com_SAP_BUILDT_1, sap.com_SAP_J2EE_1 etc but I cannot expend them and get the projects inside which causes local compilation to fail.
I have declared those SCs as dependencies, imported them on the CMS to development, updated the track, re-imported the configuration on NWDS but I still can't expand them.
Any ideas...?
Roy

Please ignore, problem does not exist.

  • Problem with Local DCs View in NWDS

    Hi!
I' ve got a problem with Local DCs view in NWDS: None of the standard-DCs (BI_MMR, BI_UDI, CAF a.s.o.) can be expanded and show their content. I already reinstalled IDE, but without success.
    Has anybody got an idea?
    Thanks a lot in advance!
    Regards,
    Thomas

Your setup might be incomplete: The SAR file extraction creates very long paths on your filesystem. If you do not extract to the rootfolder of disk, chances are the paths become too long and the installation exits, without any warning.
If this is not the cause of your problem, check if the .dcdef files for the local DCs (plugin com.sap.tc.ap if I'm correct) were copied during installation.

    Hi,
This is due to some files missed in Local development.
Let me know Are you able to see <b>.confdef, .syncdb</b> and <b>buildvariant.config </b> files under Local Developement.
If you are not able to see, UnInstall your NWDS, Remove Local developement under .dtc folder, then Re-Install NWDS.
    Hope this will help you.

  • Cannot see 'WAITING/RELEASED' in Transport View in NWDS

    Hello,
We just installed NWDI (7.0 SP09) and followed the steps to configure it.
I created a New DC, created a WebDynpro application within it and checked-in the activity.
The Activation Request shows a green check mark, and a running-man symbol.
Under the Transport View, I do not see the yellow and green flags for the Waiting and Released tasks.
In CMS, we have configured a single machine for our development server (we have not included any consolidation or test or production machine in the landscape). We have disabled automatic deployment for the development machine.
Can someone please point-out where we are making a mistake ?
    Thanks
    Jon.

The running man symbol appears because you disabled automatic deployment. The green check mark indicates that activation was successful. The activity should nevertheless appear in the Transport view as a waiting activity, since activation was successful. In order to deploy the DC's touched in the activity you'll have to go to the TCS Deployer now: [http://<nwdiserver>:<port>/TCS/Deployer].

  • Is it possible and How to delete local DCs?

    Hello All,
I use NWDS to devlelop some java applications, but I found every time when I opened the Developer Studio, there are nothing in Inactive DCs unless I import development configurations from the CMS server, once I did it, there will be a new Local DC created in the Local DCs view, for example:
    DEMO_dev[0]
    DEMO_dev[1]
    DEMO_dev[2]
    DEMO_dev[3]
    DEMO_dev[4]
I want to know whether it is normal situation that everytime when DS is opened, there will be a new local one created?
And also I want to know whether it is ok to delete the old ones, for example in this case:
    DEMO_dev[0]
    DEMO_dev[1]
    DEMO_dev[2]
    DEMO_dev[3]
    be deleted?
I have tried to delete one, but IDE pop up error message:"Action failed--Server access failed, because configuration is in offline mode". But I can assure you that I am online because I just import the development configurations.
Could anyone tell me the reason for it?
Thank  you very much in advance.
    Best regards,
    Nick

    Hi Alain,
    Thank you for your reply.
I have tried your way but it does not work:(
When I open the developer studio, in the Inactive DCs view, there displays 'Offline', in the 'Local DCs' view, there are many DCs as I describe in the above message, once I right click the 'offline' and login to the CMS, there will be TOTALLY nothing in the inactive DCs view, I don't know why... and in the DTR console view, there displays 'No development configuration imported'.
If I choose to import the development configuration, there will be one more DC added to the Local DCs view...
could you give some more suggestions?
    Thank you very much.
    Best regards,
    Nick

  • Importing Local DCs from hard disk into NWDS

    Hi..
I have a Local Webdynpro DC zipped file in my .dtc folder under a package folder (say com.sap).
I have extracted this file under this folder.
Now I need to extract this in my NWDS local development.
I am not using NWDI... I am using only Local DCs.
I want to import the file into a Webdynpro Local DC into my NWDS..
    Please provide your valuable suggestions...
    Thanks and Regards,
    Sayan Ghosh

    Hi Sayan,
Go to the Development Configurations Perspective(Window->Open Perspective->Development Configurations)-> Local Dcs->MyComponents->here you can see all your DCs, Right click on the DC->Create Project-> DC will be created. You can see that DC in the Webdynpro Perspective.
    Or
You can create the the new DC with the required name, once it is done then copy the src folder from the old DC to Newly created DC->Reload DC.

  • Import local DCs into Development Configuration

    Hi all.
I have some local DCs already developed. From now I have available NWDI Development Configuration and I want to export those local DCs to the Remote Development configuration.
I'm trying to implement/configurate a team development enviroment.
I try sharing the DC project (DTR option into Webdynpro perspective) but when I import the shared content to a project in another Developer Studio, the DC metadata is lost.
Its possible to move my local DCs to the Remote Development Configuration? If so, how can I do that?
    Regards.
    Gregory.

    hi,
    Follow the below mentioned steps:
    Creating a New Development Component
           1.      Create a new Web Dynpro DC project.
You create an empty u201Ccontaineru201D for a Web Dynpro DC that does not yet have any functions. The new DC should include all relevant development objects of the local project.
Do not check in the newly created DC into the DTR yet.
Copying Packages from the Local Project
           2.      In the Web Dynpro perspective, switch to the Navigator view.
           3.      Select the local Web Dynpro project to be migrated and expand the project structure down to the source folder:  ® src ® packages.
           4.      Select all packages and from the context menu choose Copy.
Inserting Packages into the New DC Project
           5.      Now choose the DC project that was just created and expand the project structure in the Navigator view, again down to the source folder.
           6.      Select the Packages node and choose Paste.
The Add Files to DTR dialog box appears.
           7.      Choose OK to confirm your selection.
           8.      Assign an activity either by creating a new activity or by choosing an existing one.
    Execute Reload
           9.      Switch to the Web Dynpro Explorer.
       10.      Select the project node of the DC project and choose Reload.
       11.      In the displayed dialog box, again choose Reload.
Reloadnow also reloads the Web Dynpro metadata into the new project.
    Building the Project
       12.      Execute a local rebuild for the entire DC project. Choose the function Rebuild project.
       13.      If there are no errors in the task view, execute a DC-based build by choosing the function Development Component ® Build.

  • NW2004s SP12 - SP13: Model DC cannot publish Modelclasses to other DCs

    All,
We are facing an issue with accessing the model classes in the another webdynpro DC once we upgraded our portal from sp12 to sp13.
We referred to the following thread NW2004s SP12 -> SP13: Model DC cannot publish Modelclasses to other DCs
We tried keeping the package name same for model as the model class's as in the above thread.
Did anyone else face similar kind of issue?
Any lead on this would be appreciated.
    regards,
    Pobi

    Hi Shibendra,
In your model DC, the required model class files that need to be packed into a public part have to be added as "File" type entities to the public part.Till SP12,the model classes were being added as "Java Package Tree" type entities which does not work in SP13.
Please refer to the SAP note # 1126451 for more details on this change of behaviour in SP13.
    Regards,
    Ashitha.

    Hi
Actually this is not the right forum, there are plenty of threads running in Java Development Infrastructure Forum.
    Please lookinto that forum,
from the error i can suggest you
Check SAP_JTECHS SAP-JEESAP_BUILDT SCA and SAP_BUILDT, is missing from your track. Did you check-in and import all three SCA's

  • Local DCs to DTR DCs

    Hi everybody
I am in the current scenario:
I have developed 4 inter-depending DCs under Local Development and they build fine in local NWDS.
My NWDI consists only of DTR.
I want to share my DCs on the DTR for other developers to edit/view/ecc but I would like to keep my source files just where they are.
I would like to sync the files I actually am working with and not some copy in C:\NWDI synced folder\workspace folder\workspace\...\...\DC folder.
Can that be done? It seems such a basic requirement from a VCS to me.
Alternatively I would highly appreciate suggestions as to how move inter-depending DCs from Local Development to DTR development without messing up all the DC dependencies (it happened before to me).
    Thanks
    Points for helpful answers
    Vincenzo

Hi Pascal, thanks for your reply
    It reads:
    =================
Open the NWDS, Development Configurations Perspective. Select the
Development Configuration for the development system of the SC
and go to the "Inactive DCs" View.
Navigate to the DC of interest and sync only the sources
    =================
Actually in Development Configuration Perspective I only have Local Development: standard SCs and MyComponents SC.
Under myComponents I have all my DCs.
Upon selecting my Development Configuration the Inactive DCs (as well Active DCs) is totally empty.
Keep in mind that I only use DTR.
Could you please provide some more detail info? I believe I am leaving something out.
    Thanks in advance
    Vincenzo

I installed Mountain Lion on my iMac. Now I cannot access the Internet. All the other computers and tablets on the network have no problem. I did PRAM and MC reset, modem reset, etc., all the usual ju-ju. I also cannot connect on my local network to any other computer. Yet Network control panel says I am connect to the modem, and Network Diagnosis says I am connected to the Internet. It's like the blind man who has eyes that cannot see. BTW, I am not some newbee. I have been a Machead since the early nineties and set up a half dozen networks, including the one I am using at home to which the iMac mysteriously is there but not. This has me stumped! I am considering going back to 10.7!

Not without some information. What are your site definitions?
    What server
model? Is the local server IIS? Apache? Something else? What
    error
messages are you getting? Could this be a permissions
    problem? You said
"suddenly" .. what if anything changed in your configuration?

  • Apple Remote Desktop ARD 3.7 cannot drag files from local to remote.

Apple Remote Desktop ARD 3.7 cannot drag files from local to remote. I've been able to drag n drop folders and files from my local to the remotes for years until the update to 3.7. Anyone else experiencing this issue? I've tried changing preferences. No luck. Maybe I'm missing a setting somewhere.
I'm on 10.8.5. Remote is same with 3.7 client. This happens with multiple remotes.

Let me guess.  The Get and Send clibboard contents buttons are greyed out too?
It is only affecting me on clients already upgraded to 3.7.    None of the clients on older versions are affected.
ARD is also crashing a lot.
Most of the time I go to a screen share to a client it takes way too long, so I clock Stop,  then try to connect again and works straight away.
Hopefully a patch will be released soon.

Can you just click 'open' to run the report without exanding it to see the worksheet?
I have heard of this before and one work around was to just open it and it would work anyway. This was a couple of years ago and not sure if the same 'feature' still exists?
