Running SAP on Microsoft Virtual Servers
Is anyone running SAP on Microsoft Virtual Servers? If so, what has been your experience with this? We are installing NetWeaver 2004s on three virtual servers (running on the same Physical Windows server). We are using the Microsoft Virtual Server software (not VM Ware).
Thanks in advance for any information.Check Note 674851 - Virtualization on Windows:
VMware, GSX Server, VMware workstation, Microsoft Virtual Server
Due to their restriction to 32-bit, single CPU and host/guest operation, these virtualization products are not suitable for productive SAP applications.
It may be advisable to use one of these products to operate non-production systems (demo systems, test systems, development systems and so on).
I would not use Microsoft Virtual Server for productive installations, additionally, depending on the database used, it may or may not supported by the database vendor and thus also may or may not supported by SAP.
In worst case you will need to reinstall the application on a non-virtualized environment and reproduce a problem there before SAP support will accept the problem.

hi to all
is it so possible in standard SAP that what ever we plan in planning board can be exported to micro project?
if so, can u suggest me the steps...
if not, any interface software's are required???????? what is open PS, is it available in SAP or we have to procure it?
regards
suryaHi Surya,
Yes it is possible the exchange data between the Project System (PS) and Microsoft Project. You can transfer data from Microsoft Project to the Project System, and from the Project System to Microsoft Project.
You need not to buy Open PS for Microsoft Project (OpenPS4MSP), it is to get downloaded from www.service.sap.com
For this refer below sdn link.
https://forums.sdn.sap.com/click.jspa?searchID=26500224&messageID=6229863
Also refer sap help link on Open PS for Microsoft Project (OpenPS4MSP)

Regardig SAP and Microsoft VB connection.
dear all
can anybody tell me how to integrate microsoft VB from SAP R/3.
i dont want vice versa.. i want to integrate VB application through SAP only..
regards,
jigar t<b>Hi
If u want to integrate VB with SAP,Then its easy task for u if u know RFC and BAPI in SAP.
In VB u hv one component called BAPIActiveX controls which will help u to login to SAP thru SAP user ID and Password.
After that u have to create object type SAP business objects which is nothing but SAP BOR with BAPI.Then u have to Call BAPI thru that Object from VB which will invoke in SAP.
Take one example hw to create one Sales Order in SAP from VB
For creating Sales order one Business object is defined in SAP-BUS2032,U can see it in SWO1 Tcode in SAP.Then
U have create one object type in VB .
Then thru that Object u have to CALL one BAPI-BAPI_SALESORDER_CRETEFROMDAT1 by filling the parameters from VB and then invoke
So it will be triggered in SAP and will create one Sales Order in SAP with the parameters given by VB and will return the salesorder number to VB.
So these are the process followed for integrating VB with SAP.
Hope now u got.
Mark points if helpful.

Advantage and disadvantages of SAP IDM & Microsoft Identity management Tool
Hi Folks,
I am looking some points on SAP IDM and Microsoft tool for Identity Management. I am looking below mention points.
1. Difference in the feature and prize.
2. Limitation
3. Solution architecture for both
Relevant answers will be rewarded.
Regards,
Akshay ShailHi,
I can add some points about SAP NW IdM. Regarding your question about the prize: If you only connect SAP systems (it can handle all types of SAP ABAP and SAP Java Systems) they don't charge you extra, because it's already in the NetWeaver license. Furthermore, if you use the SAP Central User Administration: It isn't further developed and will be replaced by SAP NW IdM.
The systems you mentioned can be connected, I think these are basics for everey IdM solution. HR interation is possible with SAP IdM, don't know about the other solution in this point.
There are some whitepapers and presentations about SAP NW IdM: https://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/sdn/nw-identitymanagement?rid=/webcontent/uuid/f0b68fb1-d8af-2a10-2a8e-cc431c15bb39&anchor=section2.
Nevertheless, your question about limitations and solution architecture probably needs a PoC if you want to answer them in deep.

Whatz impossible ??
Yes you can export the data from excel to SAP using VBA, but you need to create fome RFC in SAP as well that will handle the data you will send.
1. Create a RFC function in R/3 that will read a file from specific location and perform the respective transaction.
2. Create your excel file with respective file format and call the RFC function in SAP passing the parameters as file name and other required details.
3. SAP coding for RFC will be a single time activity and then onwads you can just create excel file for upload and use VBA code to initiate the RFC call.
Hope this make some sence. Tell me if you have more queries.

Vishal

Hi Experts ,
Can anyone tell me the difference between SAP NetWeaver Gateway 2.0 and SAP NetWeaver Gateway productivity accelerator for Microsoft ?
Best Regards,
SKSAP Netweaver Gateway 2.0 is a product for Exposing ERP data as OData for external consumption which is independent of any Microsoft product. Using this you can model OData services and Expose them for light weight consumption. You can use this in use cases where you just want to consume the OData in some client or so, and you do not want any kind of accelerators to help you in development or in your integration.
GWPAM is an interoperability framework from SAP that leverages SAP NetWeaver Gateway and Microsoft technologies enabling customers and partners to easily and quickly compose solutions that consume and extend SAP throughout Microsoft technologies for on premise and on demand deployment. With GWPAM you get components like
GWPAM Visual Studio Add-On,GWPAM Template,GWPAM Project,GWPAM Outlook Add-In which are very much Microsoft specific. -
Microsoft Excel slowing down and other problems when SAP BPC EPM Add-in is installed
Hello,
Our client is having some problems with Microsoft Excel (MS Office 2013) since the SAP BPC EPM Add-in was installed in their computers.

Have you experienced something similar in other installations?
