I have Windows Vista Home Premium Operating System.
After checking some of the sdn forums postings,
I created a folder on C drive and downloaded / saved / ran
[ftp://ftp.sap.com/pub/sapgui/win/710/compilation2/50088654_4.zip] file
and then downloaded / saved latest patch
[ftp://ftp.sap.com/pub/sapgui/win/710/patches/gui710_9.exe] into the same folder.
Then i tried to run setup.bat file, but was unsuccessful.
Then, I ran SapGuiSetup.exe file .and followed the steps needed for SAP Front End Installation wizard as listed in the screenshots in [http://cba.uah.edu/tutorials/sap.html]
After restarting the system, I clicked on the SAP Logon icon.
But, I am NOT able to see to see any systems there.
Please help!

ITunes Setup for laptop and home storage

I have a MacBook Pro. At home I have Airport Extreme with a 500GB external hard drive connected to it. I have a lot of content on the external hd, more than my laptop can hold. I am wondering how I can use my laptop and iTunes to manage the content on the external hd. Then essentially use my laptop as a pseudo iPod to transfer some content to while I go to work. Essentially, have two iTunes accounts one for the external hd and another for my laptop while I go to work. Also, if I buy content while at work, that it synch or transfer to the external hd when I get home. Any ideas? Is it possible to run to iTunes accounts on the same User profile?

Yes, you can install and use the software on the 2nd machine so long your new company owns the license, the software is used but the same person who is using the primary installation (that is, you).

SAP Webdispatcher Setup for J2EE 640

Dear Basis Guru's,
I am trying to setup SAP Webdispatcher for our customer system. J2EE Instance is installed in a hostname called javadev which is in a domain where all other SAP Instnaces are setup ( XYZ.COM). I have installed SAP Webdispatcher in a other host called webdispdev which is existing in different domain (XYZWEB.com) Firewall rules are updated and J2EE Engine ports are opened to connect to this host.
I have generated the SSL key pair and got it certified by Digicert CA and imported it back. Now i have to configure url re direct for this webdispatcher so tht users can access j2ee instnce using with webdispatcher hostname , I have tried adding the web service name provided by developer to the url_filter , I can access this webservice using with http port , I cant access it using with j2eeengine https port . I have addedd https port to the webdispatcher profile and it fails to start when i add https port.
When i compare the new setup with existing prod systems i can see https port is addedd to sapwebdisp.pfl and users able to access it successfully. Although sap webdisp installed in one host name which is in XYZWEB.COM and users are accessing it using with diff hostname which is in XYZ.COM (Ex: webdisp host - webdispprod.XYZWEB.COM and they are accessing it using with webdispprod.XYZ.COM) looks like ur reditect setup in DNS?? I was not invloved in prod webdisp setup and i dont have any info how it was configured.
Please help me to fix the below issues

that's a business requriement you'd check with the owner.

the ssl server certificate should be applied for the domain which is used by the end user, not your server OS configuration, in your case, I assume it should be XYZ.com

Best setup for iMac with SSD and HDD? Best location of scratch & home folders?
Computer:
iMac 2.93 GHz Quad core i7, 8GB RAM, 1 TB HDD + 256 GB SSD
There is not much info from Apple about the best way to set up an iMac with a Hard Drive and Solid state drive. I’ve looked at a few of the forum posts across the web and came up with a plan and lots of questions. (I do use photoshop frequently, but not on a professional level):
1. I will keep OS and Applications on SSD
2. About moving the home folder: I saw some posts about moving the whole home folder, but it makes more sense to me to only move selected fodlers withing the home folder tomake the best use of the SSD. So will keep the home folder on SSD, but move certain folders (document /music/iphoto/download) to 1 TB HDD via instructions I found on the macintoshperformanceguide website:

sudo rm -rf Documents
sudo ln -s /Volumes/Master/Documents Documents
3. I would like to get 8 more RAM when I can afford it
4. I will attach an external hard drive for most of my documents and backup storage
5. Now here is where I’m not sure what’s best:
a. Should I partition my internal 1 TB hard drive and use the first partition as a scratch disc for photoshop and other applications? How much should I partition? Is there any benefit to this if the rive is partitioned?
b. Should I use an external drive as a scratch disc?
c. Any advice on a good 1-2 TB external drive?
d. Should I just leave things in factory settings?
Don't assume I know the basics - I got all the above just by searching around. Any advice and commentary is appreciatedThanks.

I wonder if putting the scratch disc on the same drive as the OS would cause them to interfere with each other? Even if they are on different partitions, they would not be able to be accessed at the same time, or could they? That's why I was wondering if I should place scratch disc on the internal HDD -- but then I don't know how much to partition for it (or to partition at all?)
ALso, I read on a few places that too much read/write on the SSD wears it down over time? Is this more of a theoretical concerns - it does not make sense to me since it has no moving parts!

HT4557 whats the best itunes/appleID setup for family of 3 with 3 ipads, 3 iphones, one PC with all music on. if we use 3 separate ones how do we share purchased and home content?

been with apple for years. one itunes/appleID in use for family - all purchases and downloads on the one account..
now got 3 ipads, 3 iphones and when we update the software, we seem to get text/facetime issues due to multiple email addresses and phone numbers for the different devices that each individual uses. For example, I send a text and it appears to have come from my wife or son to the recipient. Not good !
there seems to be direction from apple that each of us should use our own apple id, thogh how do I link the accounts so enable family sharing of music/media we have purchased etc - Id also like to be able to review and keep a private eye on what my son downloads as he is 11 yrs old ! I manage this currently as we allow him access to the password for itunes (as we all use the same id today)
Am i better setting up accounts for my wife and son independent of my own, or not. Each of us would like access to the family content we have and the master library of synced content. I just want the most simplistic approach that apple, or others would recommend.
Is there a better or optimum setup for a family as we cannot be alone.....

My iPhone won't arrive for a little while, but my wife already got hers and she wants to set it up now. Using my Apple ID for the purchases, if she starts setting hers up, can she change her iCloud ID to something else quickly? It keeps telling us that we have to sign in with the AppleID first.
Should we just set up an iCloud account via normal internet before trying all this via iPhone?

Best Setup For Frequent File Sharing On Home Network?

Hi guys,
I'm setting up an office at my house with multiple computers on a network, and we'll be sharing files over the network frequently. My question is, what is the best setup for this?.. Fastest transfer of files, stable wireless connection, etc.
All of the computers will be Macs (iMacs and Macbooks).
We'll be editing videos/photos on the computers. (Potentially large files)
Is the easiest setup just to have the main computer attached to a good router, setup file sharing on all other computers, and just do it that way?
Or would it be better to create some sort of NAS?
Also can someone reccomend a good router for this type of scenario?

NAS is the right tool for this job.
It is expensive but the market leaders.. synology and QNAP have really been doing it for long time and the ability to do file store/sharing and most importantly backup in these is excellent. Pick the best you can afford.. and buy disks that are in the recommended list. ie the cheapest are not always the best.. indeed they seldom are.
Plan very carefully for rotation of USB drives (easy and cheap now with 4TB single drives). Rotate backups with offsite location on weekly basis.
I would buy a 4 disk case.. you can use 4x3TB which are the best value at the moment.. that gives you 9TB of storage.. plus redundancy for a dead drive.
Alternatives are using a Mac Mini as a server.. with a large stack of disks on it.. generally should be thinking thunderbolt if you want speed. Hideously expensive though for now.
You can buy an Extreme or TC.. either would work well. TC allows you easy TM backups without using your NAS..
Edit very large files on the computer. ie copy to computer.. edit.. copy back to the NAS.
Editing very large files over wireless.. not good. Multiply that by mutliple computers.. not even fair.
Copy a large project to the computer.. work on it.. copy back to the NAS.. in the meantime Time Machine should be able to take care of incremental backups.
There are heaps and heaps of solutions.. as long as it is logical and easy to you.. and covers what you need.
Don't skimp.. spending a $1000 for a NAS with disks.. plus extra for the backup disks.. that represents how many day's work for you plus anyone you have helping.. $$$$ ????
A mini as a server is a good alternative.. You don't need to run server OS.. but share files to the network. Very hard to build the capacity of the NAS though.
And a Mac Pro is now a joke without internal slots and cages for drives. (nice machine but wrong for this).
And Apple have nothing in between.. a short tower case.. been missing for a long long time.

Home office setup for 867VAE-k9

First, I am not Cisco certified, and have learn all I know the hard way, but get around pretty well in the IOS. I have a simple network at home but it has to many devices and too much traffic for the normal home DSL devices, and I finally gave up rebooting them every few hours and bought a serious device. I have been working through getting it configured, but as I understand it, I need to get a support contract in order to have the right to download IOS updates? Also, in order to get the ability to turn on the use of firewall? So I am now trying to find out, with no success so far since no one wants to talk to a NON HUGE CORP about a support contract, how to get one and what will it cost, and will the firewall cost even more? Can someone point me to some answers?
Oh, and after getting SDM down and set up (with some serious hurtle like Java 1.6), it tells me the device isn't supported, which I was sure I read it in the list in the SDM manual.

Which IOS is on there currently?

THX Setup Console for Auzentech Cards (Home Theatre HD)

I know that using DK's packs i can install the THX console and i 've used them for my older x-fi cards(really great packs for those older cards btw!). but installing his packs seems to alter other things even though all im installing is just the THX console. is there a way i can install just the THX console for my auzentech Home Theatre HD without one of DK's packs?

There is no hardware check, so it will install on any system, but obviously will only support devices with a X-Fi PCI or PCI-E chipset.

Split setup for EBS R12

Hi all,
I want to have a split setup for EBS. Say I have 2 servers, and I will use 1 for the DB and the other for Apps.
Though I have not tried it yet, because we only have 1 test server to practise.
My question is....is my understanding correct? That to install a split config of EBS.
1. I have to run RAPIDWIZ on the 1st machine(server) and install the DB tier. and
2. Run RAPIDWIZ on the 2nd machine and install the Apps tier.

You can use a special Rapid Install startup option to upgrade an existing database node or Applications node to a new technology stack, without having to perform a complete system upgrade. With this option, you can install new ORACLE_HOMEs and generate configuration files (using AutoConfig) that will switch your existing system to use the upgraded components. In addition to running Rapid Install, there are additional tasks associated with a complete technology stack upgrade.
Note: For the initial release of Oracle Applications Release 12, no technology stack upgrade options are applicable, since the latest core components have been included as part of the release. Options to upgrade will be provided as new components become available and are certified.
Technology Stack means:
1) Oracle 10g Database home (10g ORACLE_HOME)
2) Application Tier homes (10.1.2 and 10.1.3 AS)
Refer to (Chapter 4 - Installing Technology Stack Components) of the Installation manual, it is explained properly there.

WebAccess setup for V7 SP4

I am at breaking point here in frustration. I am in the process of setting up V7 SP4 on Windows 2008 R2. I am using the recommended version of WebLogic as per tested configurations, and have followed the setup instructions to a letter. This has resulted in a non-working setup with what seems to be a familiar "system property 'primavera.bootstrap.home' not found". My current 'startWebLogic.cmd' for the classcaching section looks like

This is based on all my current searching the web in trying to resolve this issue. I've tried combinations of '\' after the path and removing it in both the CLASSPATH variable and the -Dprimavera.bootstrap.com option. BREBootstrap.xml resides at D:\P6WebAccess.
I had got past this and ended up with another error about
User defined listener com.sun.faces.config.ConfigureListener failed: java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError: ilog/views/util/beans/editor/IlvColorPropertyEditor$MyJColorChooser. java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError: ilog/views/util/beans/editor/IlvColorPropertyEditor$MyJColorChooser at java.lang.Class.getDeclaredConstructors0(Native Method)
I restarted and am back at the inability to find bootstrap home.
I have logged an incident with our support company, but am wanting to get this resolved, so here I am prostrate before you hoping for a solution.

What is icloud setup for Multiple users, multiple devices in family?

What would be the recommended setup for iCloud to allow family members with multiple devices and multiple iTune accounts to share purchases, sync there own mail account, contacts, and reminders with multiple devices, and be able to sync calenders with all family calendars? Or better yet how can family members pick and choose what to sync with a common iCloud account?

I'd like to know this to.
We have 1 mac mini that serves as a media station that streams audio to Zeppelin air and photos & movies to our TV.
My wife buys music on her iPhone. And takes pictures of the family.
I buy apps and music on my iPad. And make movies of the family.
I have a macbook pro ( itunes with home sharing, iphoto home sharing ).
She has a nice macbook ( itunes with home sharing, iphoto home sharing ).
What we would want is that the mac mini collects all music / videos / media and streams it to all our apple devices via wifi ( not via internet ). But I with my appleID and she with her appleID.
I wonder is Apple can make an GUInterface that I can understand to solve this.
This iCloud seems not too suited.
For families it would be easier if iOS5 would have 'home sharing' with upload and not transfer everything to CA first.
