SAP Sizing Tool

Is there a simple and easy way to effectively size MII for distribution?  I understand there is a sizing tool that SAP provides, but I have never found someone either on the SAP side or a client that has effectively sized their layout for MII.  Does anyone have a guideline document that could state...
0 - 9,999 data transactions per hour, you need xx RAM, xx hard drive, xx bandwidth
10,000 - 99,999 data transactions per hour, you need xx RAM, xx hard drive, xx bandwidth
100,000 + data transactions per hour, you need xx RAM, xx hard drive, xx bandwidth
I would build this document and share, but my experience has been more gut triggered and I shoot high to make sure I have enough room, but as I begin to talk to clients that are asking for much larger enterprise, I see it is hard to gauge how much they need.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hi,
Your question is basically talks about MII Architecture .it is available sizing questioner in service market place.
document is set of questions like data load between shop floor and ECC per min/hour.based on this you have to calculate RAM size(Server sizing). It depends on Plant load and number of users.

  • SAP sizing on UCS

We are in the process of putting documentation together for sizing an SAP environment running on UCS. Our initial documentation looks to equate the SAP benchmark (SAPS) with blade/chassis sizing for UCS. When working with other hardware vendors, we usually provide them with the SAP Quicksizer output (SAPS) and they provide us with initial CPU/memory/server model information.
Has anyone worked with Cisco on an SAP sizing exercise or can anyone point me to documentation provided by Cisco on how to size SAP on UCS?
    Thanks.
    Matthew

    Hello Matthew,
    1) Cisco do not do sizing. Cisco create architecture, when a SAP partner, SAP  consultant or SAP provide the requirements in terms of SAPS (the "horsepower" of  a server).
    2) Reach out to a Cisco person supporting SAP opportunities in your country.
    3) You can locate CISCO partner for your country at following link
    http://tools.cisco.com/WWChannels/LOCATR/openBasicSearch.do
    I hope this will help

  • UC Sizing Tool x64

Forgive me if there is another post about this, but i could not find it.  I am running Windows 8 x64 with Office 2013 x64.  When i download the excel for the UC Sizing tool at http://tools.cisco.com/cucst/faces/landing.jsp and load it, i get a warning windows that states "Application's launch was blocked by another program."  I am only running Windows Defender and no notifications pop-up showing that there are hits to security on this.  i am a local administrator on my computer, but i don't know what might be happening.  Has another else expirenced this?  If this program cannot run on x64 windows or office, is there a work-around?
    Thanks,
    Kenneth

Downgrading to Office x86 worked.  I guess there really isn't that much use for x64 Office.  I had the same issue as you with the BAT spreadsheet.  Thanks for the suggestion.

  • Sap reporting tools

    Hi,
    Plz any one explain
    1. What are the Sap reporting Tools
    2. What r the diff between Forms and Reports
plz if possible give some examples
    thanks in advance
    bye

    Hi:
    SAP Reporting Tools
ABAP list reports (customized and R/3 delivered)
    Report Writer / Report Painter
    ABAP queries
    InfoSets
    Ad-Hoc Query Tool
Crystal Reports (using the Business Objects' Integration Kit for SAP)
SAP Reports means Reading and displaying data or A method of outputting data for evaluatation.
SAP Form can be Document that either an end user interacts with or that is produced by merging a form template with data. or A form can be seen as a semifinished report, which is completed when you select the characteristics and indicators during report definition.

  • Alternatives to SAP GRC Tool to monitor compliance & automatic provisioning

    Hello Gurus,
Not sure if this would be the right forum to ask this but surely there exist tools in the market which are viable alternatives to the SAP GRC Tool. We are a large semiconductor firm and currently manage role assignments, user provisioning and auditing manually. It is a huge cost overhead and is labor intensive.
    Looking at possible alternatives?
SAP GRC Tool is a strong contender but I am trying to weigh in other options with it and their comparisons.
To your minds, what would be the biggest advantage of implementing GRC versus any other third party tool? What is the distinctive edge it provides? This is also to help me build a strong business for pushing GRC to the management.
Appreciate any thougts/ideas/suggestions, at the earliest!! Much appreciated.

    Hi Tania,
GRC is a convenient grouping of solutions that have been developed and acquired over time. There are pros and cons in every application and no one can say that SAP GRC is 100% best and un comparable with any other compliance product in the market.
But, I can strongly say that GRC gels well with all the SAP flavours such as ECC and BI, and it is easy to implement, incorporate, and manage.
With the introduction of GRC 10, SAP is looking at more features and easy to manage compliance solutions. I bet you can't get A to B product comparision anywhere. I rather suggest you to look at the top ten features and advantages in different products in terms of deployment, adaptability, user friendlyness etc., and opt for the right one.

  • Sizing Tool for Journaling

I have been looking for a tool to help guide with determining a reasonable amount of free space needed to begin Journaling mail messages. I have performed the standard math assumptions like:
Internal Mail a day + External Mail a day then multiplying that by 365 to get have a guess at how much space is needed for a years worth of mail, then multiplying that by the number of years it needs to be kept.
From most threads I have found, this seems to be the way most folks are handling the "Planning" of journaling. Does Microsoft have a sizing tool similar to Symantec's Enterprise Vault? Or is this the best practice for determining the size of your
Mailbox/Mailbox Databases? Judging from others research, I have not found a way to even put a number on how much internal to internal mail is being sent a day. Our message hygiene system however has a weekly report that shows how much data is going in and
out everyday. But if I go with exact external data and guessed internal data, I feel the numbers will either be to high or too low.
Math Example: 5GB/week external to internal and internal to external, 10GB S.W.A.G/internal to internal for 15GB/week total.
    15GB/week x52 weeks in a year=780GB/year x 5 year retention plan=3900GB
Any input or feedback is greatly appreciated, once again not looking for someone to calculate the solution for me, just to guide me in the right direction for this.
    Thanks,
    Justin

  • Make Business systems visible within SAP PI Tools

    Hi!
I defined technical system and business system as well within SLD. Now I would like to see this business system within SAP PI tools (such as Integration Builder).
    Question:
Which actions are requiered after the definition the technical and business system in order to work with these systems in SAP PI tools?
Is thers some documents describing this issue?
    Thank you!

    Hi,
The order for without party is simple, just import it, then
    1. Create configuration scenario
    2. Assign this system to your scenario
    3. Create communication channels
    4. Create Sender Agreement, Receiver Determination, Interface Determination, Receiver Agreement
    And for with party.
    1. Create Party in Integration Directory
    2. Assign business system to this party
Now when you create your scenario
    1. Create configuration scenario
    2. Assign this party and system to your scenario
    3. Create communication channels
    4. Create Sender Agreement, Receiver Determination, Interface Determination, Receiver Agreement
    >>- Creation of Party
    First
    >>- Creation of Business component
    Second
    >>- Creation of Scenario
    Third
    >>- Assign Business system
    Fourth
    Hope now it is clarified.

  • Does the Cisco Unified Communications Sizing Tool 8.5(3) work for you ?

The previous version of this sizing tool worked just fine thank you very much, but now when I fire it up, it says it has expired and I should upgrade to the nice shiny new one. So I downloaded the new tool from
    http://tools.cisco.com/cucst/faces/landing.jsp
and installed it, but when it runs it displays an Excel error and dies. Don't you love those sorts of circles?
I am on Windows 7 64-bit with Excel 2010 32-bit - a compatible combination, according to the release notes.
    Any ideas?
    Regards,
    Geoff

It's got to be something with you excel security settings.
I am sure you are absolutely correct. I just installed it on a colleague's computer (he works for a different company so his Excel does not have the same settings as mine, which comes from the HP corporate load).
I've played with quite a few different settings in the Trust Center but haven't cracked it yet.

  • Sizing Tool - Disks

The sizing tool for SCOM 2012 states the following for a 500 Windows Computers and 100 Network Devices scenario:
Role:  Operations Database Server, Operations Data Warehouse Server, Web Console Server & SQL Server Reporting Services Server
    Hardware:
    • 10 disk RAID 10 (Data) (300 GB)
    • 2 disk RAID 1 (Log)

    Am I missing something here?
    Regards,
    Chris

    Hi Chris,
The number of disks required is performance related rather than available storage, if there are more spindles then this will allow the striped data to be written quicker (i.e greater IOPS). Obviously the number of IOPS will be dependent upon the storage
you're using and if it's shared, etc.
    Hope this helps

  • Sizing Tool

    I am at the initial stages of making a sizing tool;
i hav writtn a code to get the numbr of records (delta/full) for all the target infocubes for a particular period so far...
but it is getting very cumbersome.
are there any standard code available, or can any one contribute to ease the load a bit?

    Hello,
if you need to knwo wht is the size of ICs and other targets u can use DB02 to find that out.
else u can use FMs like RSDU_INFOCUBE_TABLE_SIZES,
    RSDU_INFOCUBE_TABLE_SIZES_INF

  • SAP Sizing for potential client

Hello all, There is a potential new SAP client who wants to implement SAP. They want to do SAP sizing. What I understand is some one with  S ID should be doing the sizing. Question is, how should they request for new id or do the sap sizing them selves?
I am a Basis guy, but we want the client to do his own sap sizing. How should the client proceed?
    Regards
    k

    Hi Kourosh,
Sizing is something that requires some sort of understanding on varios parameters that Quick Sizer uses. If your client is new to SAP then the outcome of their sizing may not be relevant utlimately.
I suggest for them to use an expertience consultant for sizing. The consultant may use his/her own S-user.
    Regards,
    Shival
