  • Is eCATT a component integrated within SAP Solution Manger?

Is eCATT (extended Computer Aided Test Tool) a component integrated within SAP Solution Manager? or Netweaver Solution Manager?
    OR
Is eCATT automatically gets installed if we install Solution Manager?
Further, does Solution Manager gets installed if we install SAP/Netweaver components or is it a stand alone component?
    Please let me know.
    Thanks & Regards.

    Dear Fr,
I think you got confused with solman & eCATT ,this is a testing tool and has got no dependency upon solution manager.
this a free testing tool used for testing SAP applications, it is based upon Web Application Server.
    Please follow the link,
    http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw04/helpdata/en/1b/e81c3b84e65e7be10000000a11402f/frameset.htm
You can link ECATT and QTP scripts, combination of both.
In addtion you can execute them from solution manager itself.
Whereas solution manager is used for managing your test plans and can organize all type of test cases which can be automatic like ecatt QTP etc or manual.
follow my; blog to learn testing with solutin manager.

    Please rewad points.

  • SAP Solution Manger for Defining HR Processes - Need Info

    Hi Guys,
I need to know if it is possible to use SAP Solution Manager to Define processes for ESS/MSS Business Packages in the Enterprise Portal.
I would appreciate any information you guys can provide.
    Tx,
    John.

    1. In your SAP Solution Manager system, call transaction SMSY (System Landscape Maintenance).
    2. To create your SAP system in the system landscape, proceed as follows:
    a) Select the landscape component Systems and choose Create New System from the context menu.
    b) Enter the system ID in the following dialog box as the system.
    c) Select the relevant product and the corresponding product version from the input help.
    Then choose Save.
    d) Fill in the system data as much as possible.
You can find further documentation in the online help at Help® Application Help.
    e) Save your entries.
    3. To generate the key, choose Other object... from the menu System Landscape.
    4. Set the indicator System and choose the system that you want to install from the input help.
If you created the system in the SAP Solution Manager in the previous step, choose this system.
    5. Choose Generate Installation / Upgrade Key.
    6. Enter the requested information.
    7. Choose Generate Key.

  • EWA for Business Objects (XI 3.1) within SAP Solution Manager

    Hello!
We use Business Objects (XI 3.1) and would like to get weekly a EWA report within our SAP Solution Manager.
Our SAP Solution Manger has only ABAP stack and it has the SPS version 25.
We also do not use Wily Introscope/Diagnostics and E2E tools within SAP Solution Manager.
    Question
Is it possible to set up EWA for Business Objects with our requirements (SOLMAN with ABAP stack and without E2E/Diagnostics tools)?

    Hello,
The short answer is no. You can verify this in SAP Note  1507629  - Preparing a BOE system for Service Sessions in Sol. Manager.
    "...1.) Managed System Setup
Perform the Managed System Setup for SAP BusinessObjects Enterprise as
described in the "End-to-End Root Cause Analysis System Landscape Setup
Guide". This guide can be found in the SAP Service Market Place:
    -> http://service.sap.com/diagnostics
-> Navigate to the "Media Library"
-> Open the document "SAP Solution Manager Landscape Setup Guide"
Please ensure that you perform all steps mentioned in the guide which
are relevant for your product and version. Please read also SAP note
1357901, which is also referred to in the above mentioned setup guide."
So this is a requirement. There are also pdf documetns attached to this note  that describe how to setup the EWA in Solution Manager. EGI_SBOP_EWA_part1.pdf and EGI_SBOP_EWA_part2.pdf.
The fact you have no Java stack and have not installed Diagnostics, just means it has not been done. It can be done and then you can do a managed system setup, and the balance of tasks required to prepare the system and Solution manager to generate EWA reports for the BOE system. Its just more work, not a show stopper.

    Paul

    Thanks

    Hi,

    -  When I use T-code spro -> SAP Reference IMG, I can't see "SAP Solution Manger Implementation Guide" on Display IMG. I just can see "SAP customizing Implementation Guide" on this Display.
    Please advise,

  • Ticket SAP Solution Manager 7.0 to SAP EHP 1 for SAP Solution Manager 7.0

    Hi,
I want to migrate all tickets from SAP Solution Manager 7.0 to SAP EHP 1 for SAP Solution Manager 7.0 , please let me know the procedure how to migrate it.
    DB Detail
    SAP Solution Manager 7.0 - MSSQL( 9.00.4035)
SAP EHP 1 for SAP Solution Manager 7.0 - MSSQL(10.00.2531)
    Thanks,
    Kaleel

    Dear Mohamed,
I was reading the post and the replies and while I think your question has been answered, I just want to make sure what you are trying to achieve. Is it a migration, where you have one Solution Manager system on SAP Solution Manager 7.0 and another
SAP Solution Manager EHP1 system and you were looking to migrate the Service Desk messages?
If you are "Upgrading" one system from Solution Manager 7.0 to  EHP1 then all the messages are preserved.
If you are "Migrating" to a physically different system, then transfer of Service Desk Messages is not supported.
Please see the document [SAP Solution Manger-  Conent Transfer|https://websmp204.sap-ag.de/~form/sapnet?_FRAME=CONTAINER&_OBJECT=011000358700000608232009E]
Also Service Desk is a completely independent CRM Service, so the messages could always be archived, as has been suggested.
No depending on your scenario, is the EHP1 system brand new or is it already productive? If it was brand new, you might be able to do a homogenous system copy, and then upgrade the new system to EHP1. But if it is already productive, this would not be an option.
    Hope this helps to clarify.
    Regards,
    Paul

i want to know the benefits and the usage of the solution manager?
and what sap solution manger  can do for me?
    thanks in advance

    Hi
    service desk/support desk/incident management
Application Incident Management process provides central message management and processing. The Application Incident Management, with its integration of SAP Customer Relationship Management (SAP CRM) IT Service Management, allows us to contact all parties involved in a message. These include all users of the system landscape or your company's solutions, such as employees, customers, consultants or support staff.
    demo is here
    http://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/scn/index?rid=/library/uuid/904036f4-58ed-2c10-b0b9-c6c7ca0b5afc
for other stuff also you can easily click on eLearning on sdn and choose Solution manager to get overview of features and demo etc.
    Hope it clarifies your doubt

  • SAP Solution Manager - Learn and Use

    Hi All,
I have some knowledge in SAP ABAP. I am interested to learn about SAP Solution Manager and how to work in it.
Can anyone help me in this regard? If you have any documents or presentations, please let me know.
    Thanks in advance.

    Hi,
First start with learning what solution manger can do.
    http://service.sap.com/solutionmanger
then click on Media library on left hand pan there first go through use case presentations, which will give an insight into possibilities.
    Then you can explore more.
    Hope this helps.

  • Solution manger daa agent giving error

i got the bellow error server name assignment on the agent failed. how to troubleshoot the issue
    regards
    vreddy

    Hi,
prior to all, You need to register the agent either to the solution manager directly  or to the SLD during the installation of diagnostic agent itself.
If you registered before only, you can see the agents in managed system configuration on step 4 'Assign Diagnostics Agent' -> Assign agent. Else you can see empty as in your image 2.
Please follow the below link and make sure you done registration of smd agents.

  • Error in editing object: Error in RFC to Solution Manger System

    Hi All,
Our System release is ERP 6.0 EhP4 and our DB is Oracle.
When we try to create or edit any object (eg: Function module, package, function group, tables) in our system and save it in a local workbench request, we are getting an error which states:  Error in editing object: Error in RFC SM_<SID>CLNT<Client>_BACK to Solution Manger System.
Though we have deleted the RFC SM_<SID>CLNT<Client>_BACK, we still get the same error when we try to edit an object and save it in a workbench request. But when we save all these in a local object instead of a package we do not get any error.
Can any one please suggest some solution for this?? As we are held up in some critical activity.
    Regards,
    Yamini.

    Hi,
Not sure - but maybe a cross system lock seems to exist. Perhaps you can check this:
    http://help.sap.com/saphelp_em70/helpdata/en/43/7227481a856fcae10000000a1553f6/content.htm
Or else create the Back RFC to SolMan and check how it proceeds.

  • Is Solution Manger mandatory for upgrade to NW2004s ?

Is solution Manger mandatory for upgrade to NW2004S ?
    Thanks,
    BP.

SAP will not provide solman key. However it will provide a solution manager free for ERP software. The first system that should be installed is solman in the landscape. By making solman mandatory SAP wants to regulate the irregularities in the annual fees payment by the customers. It want their customers to habituate to this software, so it provided some of the usefull concepts in solman i.e central administration of all systems in the landscape, preparation of implementation projects using ASAP methodology, maintaining service level agreement reports, provides service desk option(ticketing tool), early watch alerts etc.
So upgrade to NW2004s it is mandatory that you have solman installed.
Please correct me if I am wrong.
    Regards
    kishore
