SAP SRM - ERP INTEGRATION

Hello,
we are designing application architecture. Our landscape is:
- ECC 6.0
- SRM 5.0
- XI 7.0
We are thinking of using <b>XI as middleware even for those scenario in which in not required</b> (es. Contract Managament):
In particular every time we have a <b>communication based on IDOC</b> we want to use XI as communication middleware. Pure RFC integration will not use XI.
Has anyone some experience on this?
Thanks
antonio

  • Integrating with SAP SRM 4.0

    Hi all,
I'm currently involved in an e-procurement project that will have to integrate SAP SRM 4.0 with the EAI solution of our company (webMethods).
As I don't know much about SRM 4.0 technology, I'd like to know the standard way of integration with SRM 4.0:
    - Is SRM 4.0 capable of exposing IDocs?
    - Is SRM 4.0 capable of invoking BAPIs?
    - If so, how can a Purchase Order put into the arguments of the BAPI?
    - Is SRM 4.0 compelled to talk with XML messages (particularly SOAP XI) or are IDocs and BAPIs a suitable solution?
    - Is SRM 4.0 standard output xCBL?
    - Can SRM 4.0 expose and invoke Web Services natively?
In other words, I'd like to know whether we are obliged to use the XI Content of SRM 4.0 in order to integrate with webMethods. We have already done integration with R/3 4.6 and we used IDocs with the SAP Adapter. We would like to capitalize on our previous experience and save us from having to assess the feasibility of an integration with SRM via XI.
Thank you in advance for all your answers.
    Regards,
    /ML

    Hi Marcel,
Underlying technology is WAS (Web Application Server) which is an enhanced version of the middleware BASIS technology used by 46C. XI is a replacement for messaging platforms like webmethods, so if you are using webmethods with SAP adaptor you don't need to use XI because you are already using a messaging platform. Only reason you may want to use XI would be if you can build upon the XI content available to you. If you are not interested in the XI content then go ahead and use webmethods using SAP adaptor to connect to SRM. I don't see any problem in that.

  • SCADA - XMII - ERP integrations through SAP PI

    Hi Experts,
I have an integration scenario comprising of a SCADA system & SAP ECC. Could anybody suggest some document / send reference links on SCADA - XMII - ERP integrations through SAP PI.
    Useful response would be appreciated.
    Regards,
    Santhosh

    SCADA-XMII integration
Scada system should always remain connected to some Historian system. You can directly connect to SCADA system to xMII using vendor specific UDS (Universal Data Servers) Like Citect UDS ...
If vendor specific UDS is not available in MII then you can make it possible if the SCADA system is OPC complaint, through OPC UDS DA, but it provides only current data without any mata data information.
As a robust business practice it is not recommended to use direct SCADA connectivity to xMII, it should go through some Historian( Citect, Wonderware, Siemens...many more) so XMII will be able to get all plant floor operations data in history & current modes.
    XMII-ERP Integration
XMII supports IDOC & BAPI communication with ERP system using various SAP connectors available in XMII as in SAP BC, SAP JCO.
Specific to PI Sheet, you can download various control receipe, process orders data using IDocs.
BAPIs can be used to do "process order confirmations" back to ERP system and make changes in process data.
Let me know if you would like to know about specific SCADA system- xMII connectivity or specific activity in PI.
    Thanks

  • SAP EP 6.0 SP12 Integration with SAP SRM 4.0

    Hi Buddys,
When I am trying to create system in SAP EP for the backend SAP SRM Server using SAP Wizard in SAP EP, and testing the connection with test connection option, test is always failing.
In system creation wizard (SAP system for dedicated application server), values for connector, user managemnet have been maintained as mentioned in How to guides for SAP EP and alias for system has been created.
SAP EP has been installed with option to use SAP Backend SRM Server for Users. After SAP EP Installation, all SAP users in back end SAP SRM can be seen in SAP EP.
    Software versions:
    SAP EP :  EP 6.0 SP12
    SAP J2EE Engine : J2EE engine 6.4 SP13
    O/S : Windows 2003 Server
SAP SRM : SRM 4.0 on SAP WAS 6.4
Your help in this regard is much appreciated.
    Regards,
    Prasad

    Hi Venkat,
When you create a system choose "SAP system using dedicated application server".
The minimum parameters for creating the system are
    application host
    Logical System Name -
    Logon method - UIDPW
    SAP System ID
    SAP CLIENT
    SAP System Number
    server port
    System NAme
    System type - SAP_R3
user mapping type - admin, user
Create an alias, specify the userid and password for the system in Personalization and then do the test for the connection.
Even then if it fails you can go to Sys Admin--> Support --> Sap Application --> SAP Transaction
choose the system, specify the tcode, specify the gui type and hit go. If you execute the transaction code then the connection is OK.
    Hope this helps,
    Thanks,

  • SAP - SRM Integration

    Hello,
First of all I'd like to say that I do not know anything about SAP. Recently I have switched one of my client's hosting company and shortly after I started hearing complaints from my client that his client cannot order from the catalog. Turns out my client's client uses this SAP SRM system to make orders. My question is as you guess how do I implement SAP SRM to my shopping cart, or is there anything that I need to do on my side? What do I need to change on my system to make this work again?
Before I switched the hosting company I also changed whole structure of the website. It is using different shopping cart system now. I checked the old system and I see that there is a file called welcome.php which includes HOOK_URL. No idea what this is.
Could anyone possibly help me about this problem?
Thank you very much for the helps.

    Hi, thanks for the response.
    This is what they get
Fatal error: Call to a member function remove_all() on a non-object in .../.../.../welcome.php
This error is not generated by SAP. It is shopping cart error.
And here is the content of welcome.php
    <?php
      require("includes/application_top.php");
         $cart->remove_all();
        $hook = $_REQUEST['HOOK_URL'];
    ?>
The value of HOOK_URL is empty
    <a href="index.php?HOOK_URL=<?php echo $hook; ?>">Start shopping here</a>

  • In depth information about SAP SRM

    Hi,
i was wondering if there is a source or may somebody personally who can answer me some general questions about sap SRM, which go beyon the 10 page 40000feet-white paper of SAP.
    - what is the main difference between MM and SRM
    - how difficult is the migration/upgrade to SRM having a MM in place
    - what standard purchasing processes are provided by SAP SRM
    Thanks for your feedback

  • Advantage of using SAP SRM

    Hi,
Could any one please explain the advantages of using SAP SRM over MM module. As per me we can de most of the activities in MM except some vendor related activities (and that even if SUS is used).
    Thanks in advance.
    Regards,
    Lalit

    Hi Lalit,
All advantages of using SRM and MM module is in Plan-Driven Procurement documentation on service.sap.com/instguides -> SRM.
Generally planning in APO or MRP in an ERP system calculates the quantity and materials required. This requirement can be transffered to the EBP system. Requisitions from SAP Plant Maintanance or Project System are also possible requirements.
The requisitions are passed to EBP. If the data is complete and unique, purchase orders can be created automatically. If the data is missing, the proffesional purchaser has to complete the missing information in Sourcing or via Process Purchase Orders. An option for the professional buyer is to assign un-sourced PO to an RFQ and send it out for bids.
The proffesional purchaser completes the orders, assings source of supply, add or deletes item.
Once the order is complete it is issued automatically to R/3. XML is the upcoming medium, since the data can be automatically integrated in more and more supplier's systes, or You can send orders by e-mail, fax or print them.
Goods receipt is either done in EBP by supplier via an XML confirmation, by employee who requested the item by general goods recipient or in the backend system. Inventory is updated in backend.
The invoice is processed in EBP manually by the requestor or an accountant submitted by the supplier via an XML invoice, possibly from SUS or backend system.
You can also look in Self-Service Procurement documentation on:

  • Connecting Crystal Report 2008 to SAP SRM

    Hi all,
I have a customer that would like to use Crystal Reports 2008 to report SAP SRM data.  Is this possible?  We already have the integration kit.
    What steps must I take?
I know to connect Crystal to SAP CRM all I have to do is import the ERP transports on to the SAP CRM application server.  Is the process the same with SRM?
    Please advise.
Thank you in advance for your help.

    Hi Jenny,
For now I'll move this post to the Integration kit forum. Some of our engineers are getting trained on connecting SAP datasources so for now your best place to get an answer is likely the Integration kit forum.
    Thank you

    Hi,
I think most of your questions have already been answered.
Regarding the difference from SAP SRM, the E-Sourcing product is Java based and it takes lesser time to setup.
    Configuration is through the UI.
Functionally, the benefits are very similar between ES and SRM - however E-Sourcing additionally supports Contract Document Authoring and Forward Auctions.
From the technical configuration point, Java and SQL skills are needed for customizations.
Also ES is available as an On-demand product.
    Hope this helps.

  • ESO/ERP Integration for Service Items?

    Hello experts,
In an ESO/ERP integrated system, can data from Service master in the ERP also be used to create RFQ's and Auctions in ESO?
Are there any special considerations for Service Items in such an integrated environment or would they be treated as regular material master items inside ESO?
    Thanks & Regards,
    Reshma

    Hi Reshma
You are right, currently Item type D is nto supported for the ERP - ESO implementation for Document types RFQ, PR, PO that are created from the MSA or the RFx award from SAP ES.
However, you can still try to create the interface using some Z programs if you are pushed to the limit
    What you can do?
    1) Copy the Program for the BBP_ESI package model it to suit methods that call the Service line into the PR with Item category D - if you are successful here, you can check with the available list of API's on the ES side to check where in the XML extract you can actually incorporate the Service lines
    2) Create a Proxy using the existing interface delivered for RFQ or PR from ECC to SAP ES RFx, in PI you can define the Service line logic so that the Payloads in PI can enable this transfer
    3) The XML that is generated for this interface must be in Sync with what all RFx expects to process it as a service line, since there is no classification on the SAP ES side for addressing service lines separately.
    4) You can also extend the XPRess functionality, since SAP ES views Service and print requests service lines, see if you can somehow integrate creation of an XPress draft from a Service PR in ECC, that too should be possible.
    5) If all approaches fail, its better to integrate the SRM SoCo to push the Service lines into SAP ES RFx draft, below would be the approach.
u2022 Requirements from SRM, SAP R/3 or SAP ECC to SRM Sourcing cockpit
u2022 Create Bid invitation in SRM : Draft status
u2022 All SRM Bid Invitations to populate in a new screen developed, this screen will have all bid invitations lined up with a check box next to them, the Bid Invitation can be selected and pushed to SAP E-Sourcing
u2022 Proxy created to extract these fields from SRM and put it in XI outbound
u2022MAP / Cross MAP the data structures and pass the data
u2022 Push the Bid Invitation into SAP E-Sourcing as RFx Draft
u2022 Once the Bid Invitation is pushed into the SAP ESO application, it cannot be modified in SRM
Hope this gives you some fair approach

  • Questions on SAP/SF PO Integration & SF BizX RBP

    Dear Experts,
We are implementing SAP HCM and SF. SF goes live before SAP. We'll have a transition period from Flat File upload to SAP PO integration.
Would anyone have any recommendation on how to ensure a smooth seamless transition? We have tested in the test instance, and noticed some issues when SAP PO is turned on, i.e. User Name upper and lower cases, certain derived fields generated duplicate records, default locale was not passed from SAP and therefore overrides SF provisioning config, and users are not always in sync (bizX vs LMS). We will be using SOAP (Axis) Adapter for integration between SF and SAP.
    A few questions:
    1. Below are some of our data mapping, would appreciate if anyone has any recommendations/better suggestions or tips on these fields?
SAP Pers ID = SF User ID
SAP SSO ID (0105) = SF User Name (did anyone have issues with User ID - unique identifier and User Name - unique name for each user id?)
Manager field: we are using A002, if no value use B012, if no value use one up manager (by using one up manager, would this cause any issues?)
Time zone will be defaulted based on the employee's SAP ID (has anyone experienced issues with Timezone? especially for companies in Australia?)
Hire Date: is it true Hire Date must be in US format? When default locale is Eng_GB and timezone is Australia?
Initially we do not use Job code as it's not configured in SAP. We mapped Tilte = SAP Position Title. Is it possible to map SF LMS Job Title to Position Title in BizX?
Default Locale: we hard coded to "Eng_GB"
    2. We would like to set up a filter to select certain population of employees to be passed to SF. In our case we would like to pass only employees with an ESS user role. Does anyone know if there is a way of identifying and picking up only ESS users to be sent to SF?
    3. With Flat File integration, you recieve on screen error for pre import errors/warnings and an email notification after import. For SAP PO integration, we will have a nightly job to transfer employee data to SuccessFactors. Errors that occurred during the interface are stored in auto logs which are provided through the background job log. Is it true that the only way to check if there are failed/errored employees is by going into Webdypro and check the job log? Or would it be possible for SAP to send notifications of the pre PO errors and SF to send post PO errors? With Flat File load, the person whom imported the file will receive import status notification. With SAP PO since it is a batch job, how do we configure for a centralised email inbox to be the recipient?
    4. BizX security question: we do not want to show employee MI to users. RBP is set up not to display MI, BizX displays correctly except for under Company Info -> Directory, employees' MI is still showing. Is there a way to hide MI completely from users?
    5. We have experienced some User Connector issues, i.e. BizX and LMS are not always in sync, employees can be found in BizX but not always showing up in LMS. Does anyone have any tip or know the root cause for this issue?
    6. Lastly, is it true you are not able to delete records EVER in SF? Even if the record was created by error and no learning history attached?
Thank you so much in advance. Any feedback is highly appreciated!!
    Vera

    Hi Vera,
What version and Support Package of the add-on are using?
    1. These are some of my recommendations:
Manager field: we are using A002, if no value use B012, if no value use one up manager (by using one up manager, would this cause any issues?) >For this you need to ensure if there is no manager that the value is NO_MANAGER
Time zone will be defaulted based on the employee's SAP ID (has anyone experienced issues with Timezone? especially for companies in Australia?) >You need to ensure you have the exact correct Timezone text - ask your implementation partner for the text
Hire Date: is it true Hire Date must be in US format? When default locale is Eng_GB and timezone is Australia? >All date formats must be in US format (MM/DD/YYYY)
Default Locale: we hard coded to "Eng_GB" >It should be "EN_GB", not "Eng_GB"
    2. You can do this with a report variant, but you'll need to ensure that users can be identified by the available criteria.
    3. The WebDynpro is only for the Compensation process integration. I would post this specific question in the SAP NetWeaver Technical Integration with ERP
    6. This is not true. You can use the Purge Data option.
Regarding questions 4 and 5, I need to put my SCN moderator hat on. Please can you create new posts as they are not related to integration and it is best practice to keep one topic to one post.
    Best regards,
    Luke

  • Approver not determined process controlled workflow in SAP SRM 7.0

    Hello all,
I have setup process controlled workflow in SAP SRM 7.0 EHP3 for shopping cart approval.
    I have 4 approval levels.
I have used item-based Decision for entire document because for some items i want system approval.
In implementation of BADI /SAPSRM/BD_WF_RESP_RESOLVER, in the method /SAPSRM/IF_EX_WF_RESP_RESOLVER~GET_AREA_TO_ITEM_MAP, i am skipping the items for which i want system approval.
Also in method /SAPSRM/IF_EX_WF_RESP_RESOLVER~GET_APPROVERS_BY_AREA_GUID of BADI implementation class, i am keeping the approver table empty for the step which i want system approval.
For example i have 1 item in shopping cart and for 1st step, based on some accouting criteria, i want system approval for 1st level and the workitem should go directly to 2 approval step when shopping cart is ordered. This is not happening.
But if i have multiple items, and one item should have system approval based on some criteria and the 1st approval level should be system approval and other item should go to the 1st approver. This is happening and showing 'system' approver for item1 and 'appr_xyz' for item 2.
For shopping cart having only 1 item, If i approve the shopping cart in this state only, it doesn't go to any approver and is not usable.
am i missing anything in BADI /SAPSRM/BD_WF_RESP_RESOLVER??
    Please let me know.
    Regards,
    Yayati Ekbote

    Hi Adrian,
Yes it is possible to display custom workflows in the Universal Worklist,  However, I am not sure what you are trying to do with a routing table.  If the workitems are of type decision, you can use UserDecisionHandler (action handler) configured in the XML file to use the Approve/Reject functionality - we are talking about webflow connector here correct?  R/3 connector?

  • What is the Role of SAP PI in SAP SRM?

    Hello Gurus
    I'm from SAP-XI background.
In my project I need to create a scenario from SRM ---> PI/XI ---> MDM.
I'm having the below queries regarding this scenario.
    1) Do I need to download the "XI CONTENT for SRM SERVER and import it into PI server.
    2) If so what is the exact location in the service market place from which I can download
    3) What are the steps that need to be done between SRM and PI and also in SLD so that data will be sent from SRM to PI.
    Can anyone answer my queries.
    Thanks and Regards,
    Pruthvi

    Hi Pruthvi,
Mentioned below are the list of output medium for SAP SRM.
    1. Email.
    2. Fax.
    3. Print.
    4. XML.
Whenever SRM want to send data to another system in XML format and if you are not using SOA then PI is very much required to transfer the XML data to the target system. When you integrate  SRM with ECC 6 EHP 4 or higher version then many documents are transmitted in XML format only and XML document is sent out of SRM using ABAP Proxy.
Since the XML data is sent out via ABAP proxy you have to import the integration objects for SAP SRM into SAP NetWeaver PI. you can find the same in the below location.
    https://websmp103.sap-ag.de/~form/handler?_APP=00200682500000001943&_EVENT=DISPHIER&HEADER=N&FUNCTIONBAR=Y&EVENT=TREE&TM…
    Steps involved :
    1. Deploy the integration objects of SAP SRM into SAP NetWeaver PI.
    2. Update the SLD with new business system data.
    3. Check Active Process Integration in the transaction SPRO in SRM .
    4. Go through the below steps :
         1) One RFC of type H to point to PI with all the details.
         2) Define the role of the business system in the server that you want to see(Sxmb_Adm)
3)Connection between Business System and System Landscape Directory.
3a)RFC destination LCRSAPRFC of type T for SLD connection.
3b)RFC destination SAPSLDAPI of type T for SLD connection.
4)Maintain the SAP J2EE Connection parameters for LCRSAPRFC and SAPSLDAPI in SAP J2EE      Engine
5)Maintain SLD access details in Transaction SLDAPICUST.
Please refer the section 1.3.1, 1.3.2, 1.3.3 and 1.3.4 in the document(as linked provided below)
SLDAPICUST should point to the SLD host server. If you have a central SLD installed on the Dev server, then it is ok that it is using the host and port of the Dev server.
PIAPPLUSER is the normal user that is used in trx SLDAPICUST (the user must have the role SAP_XI_APPL_SERV_USER).
'Lastly, will the gateway Server of SAPSLDAPI and LCRSAPRFC will be the same for both DEV and QAs systems in XI?'
    5. Make the necessary confirmation in Integration directory for the relevant interfaces.
