SAP TDMS - Ensure Repository between Sender & Receiver

Dear All,
I've some questions about TDMS prerequisites.
I know that repository consistency between Sender and Receiver need to be checked before performing SAP TDMS scenario.
But my question is, how to ensure consistency between Production System and Quality System?
Repository means workbench and cross client customizing.
So there are usually inconsistencies between production and quality systems.
TDMS does not work if  the two systems are not aligned?
Do we have some recommandations, or best practices to make it happened?
Regards,
Benjamin

Hi Benjamin,
Your requirement is indeed practical.
Here the most consistent approach is to use shell creation to build the receiver system since, we know that there is quite a lot of deviation in the cross-client customizing / repository in the quality systems.
However at the same time, you can continue to use TDMS to copy data from your production environment to the quality environment with the repository as it is ( with some delta difference in the repository)... In this case, you would be able to copy data for at least all the existing transactional / Master Data from production to quality system, which will allow to test your new developments / business scenarios etc...
Following could be the situations that you need to understand with this approach -
1. In case there are some new dictionary / DB object newly created in receiver system would remain   blank as there would be no corresponding data for the same in the sender system,
2. For any dictionary / DB objects if there has been any modification in non-key fields for data type etc.. / or cases where new include structure may have been added, such table fields will not be populated. Rest other table fields data would still be consistent. All such inconsistencies would be displayed in the TDMS activities. Here you would have the option to either synch the corresponding , structures or alternately you may still continue without any changes ,
3.There may be some dynamically generated program references in the system which may vary compared to your sender environment. Such reports may need to be re-generated using some standard reports etc.. in case you face issues post copy.
4. In some situations, you may want to re-import some specific customizing's that would vary compared to the sender environment after the TDMS copy. So you need to be pro-active in ensuring such customizing requirements of your team...
Overall I would suggest that you should try with at least one test TDMS copy , with the existing repository differences . This should be mostly helpful for your case .
Please do share your experience / challenges in case you decide to go ahead with this suggestion.
Thanks,
Rajesh

  • Trap OID mismatch between send/receive - why?

I am using a trapgen tool with the following command to send a trap to TEO:
    trapgen -f input.txt
input.txt file contains the sender's OID specified with a -o option. Now on to my question:
Regardless of the what the sender's OID is, the OID received by SNMP adaptor in TEO is different as seen in the log file. In my case, I am sending the following OID 1.3.6.1.4.1.1824 but am seeing the following OID in SNMP adaptor log file: 1.3.6.1.6.3.1.1.5.6.
Question: Would like to understand why this OID mismatch between what is sent Vs what is received by TEO?
    thanks,
    Jamal

Same post from the email I sent and posted otherplace.
Here is the email info as well...
My assumption is because of some other parameter in that tool. It is *forcing* it to be that. Maybe it’s the version or something in the variable bindings. I do not know SNMP deep enough or that tool deep enough to give a complete answer. I found some sites by googling that tool, so that’s a start:
    http://mango.serotoninsoftware.com/forum/posts/list/217.page
    http://docstore.mik.ua/orelly/networking_2ndEd/snmp/ch10_03.htm
    http://www.cisco.com/en/US/tech/tk648/tk362/technologies_tech_note09186a0080094aa5.shtml
Again, my understanding and knowledge of SNMP is limited, so if you need a SNMP expert, better to look to the networking TAC I’d guess.
I was able to send in a different OID by running the command like this:
    Trapgen –d 172.18.173.116 –o .1.3.1.4.1.2654 –v .1.3.1.4.1.2854.1.2 INTEGER 20
This was picked up in TEO like this…
    04/25 15:49:01:075[TrapListener.0]: (mem=45222712/375521280) TrapReceiveHandler: Incoming trap from 172.18.173.7 to local port 162
04/25 15:49:01:075[TrapListener.0]: (mem=45222712/375521280) TrapReceiveHandler: Incoming trap version: V1 and community string: public
04/25 15:49:01:075[TrapListener.0]: (mem=45222712/375521280) TrapReceiveHandler: Incoming trap has no Trap OID
    04/25 15:49:01:075[TrapListener.0]: (mem=45222712/375521280) TrapReceiveHandler: Convert incoming V1 trap's trap OID to: 1.3.1.4.1.2654.0.1
    04/25 15:49:01:075[TrapListener.0]: (mem=45222712/375521280) TrapReceiveHandler: Trap source FQDN :IA-TAC-AUTO-TLS.CISCO.COM
    04/25 15:49:01:075[TrapListener.0]: (mem=45222712/375521280) TrapReceiveHandler: Trap source from computer:IA-TAC-AUTO-TLS
And I verified that in the GUI.
Furthermore I found that I could trigger off of “*” for Trap OID in the trigger. So you can put a star to trigger off of any OID, and then just put some criteria for the variable bindings. This might work better.
Remember in the process we wrote and gave you, that the trigger does a search into the variable binding for *ERROR* so if you were monitoring "*" OID but still using that conditional it should be fine.

  • IPhone syncing restoring issues between 4S and 5 and iCloud issues between send & receive addresses

First question: I just bought the iPhone 5 and I am trying to sync/restore all of my information (docs, data, photos) from 4S to the 5 via iTunes and iCloud but it will not let me do it. So how can sync all of my contacts, photos and documents (especially important text messages) from the 4S to 5?
Second question: I also want to know how can I stop sending and receiving messages from BOTH phones! I have two different companies and two different phone numbers but both phones share the SAME iCloud account? Should I have created a new one when I first activated the 5?
Please help I've only been an iPhone and iTunes user since November 2012 and I don't know what I am doing!!

Apparently you must be very narrow minded. I don't want to develop an e-mail client from the scratch.
I would implement the sync the following way.
Assuming I use POP3 on both my iPhone and my MacBook. On my iPhone mail client I am downloading e-mails and reading them from time to time and replying. There is an ended set of what you actions you can do with your e-mails. Every e-mail has a unique ID / fingerprint - you can recognize it with 100% accuracy. I'm also downloading e-mails on my MacBook mac mail and performe the same ended set of actions on this e-mails. So the system architecture should be as follows:
    1. MacBook mail client queues all the actions I have performed with my e-mails on my MacBook.
    2. iPhone mail client does the same - creates a queues with actions I have performed on my iPhone.
    3. If I have the syncing turned on on both of my devices and I'm logged in on both of them with the same Apple ID both devices process the queues to my iCloud, compare it and update status of my e-mails according to the actions in each queue.
So I will rather wait until Apple will do this simple solution.

  • SAP TDMS add on setup on central/control , sender and reciever systems

I found that SAP TDMS is shipped in the following add-ons:
DMIS: Contains general functions, for example for the process monitor and for the technical data transfer
DMIS_CNT: Contains TDMS-specific functions and some of the process types
DMIS_EXT: For various additional process types (reduction scenarios) for SAP TDMS; currently, it contains only the process   type for business process library
DMIS_BSC: For the process types to be used with SAP BI or CRM systems
DMIS_HR: For the process types to be used in the context of SAP Human Capital Management (HCM)
I have read TDMS master guide under section 3.4.1 Setting up the TDMS Server. There is a reference to SAP Note 970531 which is for DIMS setup and there is also reference to SAP note 970532 which is for DMIS_CNT setup.
I would like to know if DMIS_EXT,DMIS_BSC and DMIS_HR need to be setup on TDMS central/control server , sender and reciever or only need to be setup on central/control server for respective scenario realization.
    Best Regards
    Mohammed Ashraf

All the add-on components need to be installed in all the system (sender, receiver, central, control) in the landscape.

  • Doubt about difference between "Send to sap" and "Send EWA Alerts to SAP"

    Hello All
I hope that you can help me is juts a doubt about 2 check boxes
I'm on setup of a EWA but when i´m on the configuration (dates, transfers ewa to sap, archiving of EWA etc) i see 2 check boxes
that i don't know what is the difference
    The path is the following
Tcode = DSWP --> Select the solution --> (the left column) Operations Setup --> Solution Monitoring --> EarlyWatch Alert  --> Setup EarlyWatch Alert
Could you tell me what is the difference between "Send to SAP" and "Send EWA alerts to SAP" boxes?
Thanks and have a nice day

    Hello Cherios,
The "Send to SAP" check box is used when you want to sent a Production or Test (Quality) systems EWA data to SAP for analysis.
Currently the "Send EWA Alerts to SAP" is not used at this time, and actually cannot be selected, and saved.
There should now be no doubt about the two check box fields .
    Hope this information is helpful.

  • Sender & Receiver concept in controlling

    Respected sir,
Should any body tell me the concept of sender & receiver rule in controlling? how we define it?pls give an example that who is the sender & for that sender who is the receiver?
    Than'x
    Dhananjay

    Hi,
Sender and receiver objects are defined in CO with respect to cost transfer. As you may be aware, many of the cost objects such as production order, network order, IO, WBS elements etc. are temperory cost gathering objects. This is based on SAP's basic premise that cost should be booked where it is incurred.Once cost is fully gathered, cost is settled to more permanent entities such as PA, cost centre etc. This process of transferring actual cost from one object to another is called settlement. The cost objects which gather and send costs are called sender objects, and cost objects receiveing the cost are called receiver objects.
Also there are other types of transfer of cost between cost centres and WBS elements etc.
The concept of sender /receiver objects make the flow of cost in the enterprise transparent.
Hope this explanation meets your requirement.
If so, pl close the posting.

  • SAP-TDMS Installtion

    Dears,
I am new to SAP TDMS,Recently our company has planned to implement SAP TDMS in our landscape.
Now I want to know its installation procedure,Prequisties and hardware configuration that we should take for this.
I searched on marketplace and net but did not find.
    Please suggest.
    Shivam

    Hi Shivam
I hope this will help you . Here are My Findings on TDMS
    My Findings:
Step1u2022     Broadly speaking, to setup your TDMS landscape, you need to install the TDMS (DMIS, DMIS_CNT, DMIS_EXT with latest patch levels) software on the sender, receiver and central system. Latest available pack is SP11 (May 2009)
    Step2u2022     Check Latest SPAM/SAINT
Step3u2022     Arrange - CD material # 51032076 and Material # 51032077. Search in SWDC  with material # put in download basket and download with SAP DM. Read Notes 970531 &  970532 for installation of DMS/TDMS and DMIS/TDMS content.
Step4u2022     Basically you have to install DMIS and DMIS_CNT only (in all systems involved). But if you want to make full use of all functionality you have to install DMIS_EXT 2007_1 also (in all systems involved). TDMS DMIS_EXT is not a must component but it is good to have.  CD # 51033076 (DMIS EXT ADD-ON Installation ) Search Download words for DMIS_EXT are u201CDMIS_EXT 2007u201D. Read SAP Note Number: 1094395 for installation of DMIS_EXT. Before starting Installation of DMIS_EXT, please make sure your kernel or at least you use an R3trans version dated MAY/14/2008 or later, otherwise you face errors in importing.
Step5u2022     Patches for both of the packages is also available and required. Patches can be searched as u201CDMIS_CNT 2006_1_700u201D (here 700 is the version from your BASIS release.) & DMIS 2006_1_700. File names of a typical SP look like K-61701INDMIS and K-61701INDMISCNT.
Step6u2022     Components (packages)  excluded for the installation(check some packages, List from the note, should exist or not in the system se80) Should not exist in the system otherwise open a OSS message as per note-970531.
Step7u2022     Login to 000 with sap_all but not DDIC or sap*
Step8u2022     Upload Add-on and support packs to the system inbox. And then install. It is better to install  add-on and sp in one queue.
Step9u2022     There is one password required for installation of add-on, see the respective notes for this.
Step10u2022     After Successful  Installation of DMIS and DMIS_ addon with SPs. Generate profiles for TDMS projects . PFCG Utilities Menu  Mass Generation. Generate profiles which starts with these names : SAP_TDMS* , SAP_DMIS* ,  SAP_CMIS* , SAP_SLOP*. Read see SAP Note 897100.
Step11u2022     Apply Settings mentioned in Note # 890797.
Step12u2022      Execute  TXN CNV_MBT_TDMS , Create New Project. Now create a  New Subproject under project just created.
Step13u2022     Create New Package based on your scenario like Shell creation. After successful creation of New Package you will got PROCESS TREE / MONITOR u2013 PACKAGE 90XXXX Screen. You will got following kind of screen once you created TDMS Package, based on the UI you work with. Use TXN CNVMBTUISWITCH to switch to UI.

  • How can I send/receive iMessages from my iPhone 5 on my MacBook Air?

When I first got my MacBook Air (January 2015), iMessages updated automatically upon sign in to display all of my text conversations from my iPhone 5. I also used to see incoming and missed phone calls by default. As of the beginning of March 2015 when I sign in, my MacBook Air does not sync messages from my iPhone at all and I have stopped receiving phone related notifications. Also my MacBook Air is sending all messages from my email address as opposed to my phone number.
I've looked at the Messages help guides for send and receive SMS and activated text forwarding for my MacBook using my iPhone but this still hasn't helped with me being able to see my phone call/text activity on my MacBook as I was able to prior to early March. The iOS is up to date on my MacBook and my iPhone. I've also checked my iCloud and Apple ID and both display my phone number as an eligible send/receive address.
Was there an update that changed a setting? I didn't have this trouble syncing messaging and phone when I set up my MacBook Air for the first time so I'm not sure what else to try. Someone help!

    Greetings jennamarie416,
Welcome to the Apple Support Communities!
I understand that you would like to use the Apple Continuity features such as phone calls and text messages on your Mac. In this situation, I would recommend reading over the attached article for more information on these features and to ensure that they are set up correctly.
Connect your iPhone, iPad, iPod touch, and Mac using Continuity - Apple Support

  • Problem sending/ receiveing SMS on a particular port in an intercarrier n/w

I am using JSR 120 to send & receive SMS on a particular port. This works perfectly between 2 devices using the same carrier.
if I try sending & receive inter-carrier SMS, like from T-Mobile device to Cingular device (or vice-versa), my j2me app does not receive any SMS on the port it is listening to.
When the SMS with a port is sent from my app, I get the prompt for permission to send. On pressing OK, the SMS is sent. On the receiving side, the device on the another carrier network receives the SMS in the default inbox, & not by my app.
I am not sure if this is a inter-carrier SMSC issue or something to do with my app.
    Pl help.

Has anyone come across the above mentioned problem? Pl let me know if there is any solution.
Question simply put : When a j2me sms midlet sends an sms on a unique port to another j2me sms midlet listening on the same port, but served by a different carrier (cellular operator), why does the sms go to device inbox & not to my midlet?
    Thank you

  • Thunderbird is no longer able to connect to internet (sending/receiving email, updating, creating a new account,...Firefox connects well

Version 24.4.0 worked fine until yesterday (2014-04-06) running under windows 8.1 and suddenly it could no longer connetc to internet (sending/receiving email, updating, creating a new account,..). No change was done on my accounts configuration. Other applications connect correctly to internet. Some Windows 8.1 updates were automaticaly applied during the same period (??).
    Any suggestion would be appreciate
    Rgds

Thank you for your answer. Of course before posting I checked the differetn relmated topics..
As I explained nothing changed between the moment Thunderbird worked and the moment it stopped working. I checked the firewall (Norton intenet security) and the firewall of my router (Netgear). Nothing relates to Thunderbird.
I cans get my mail from another workqtation (ubuntu/evolution) with the same provider (same parameters). I just wonder if the last windows 8.1 updates could provoke this trouble...
For the moment I cannot get rid of this.

  • How to put a delay between Sender Adapter processing ?

    Hi,
I'm using FTP type and I schedule the sender each 1hour. In that time, plenty of file has been added into the source folder.
The files are like this <file_name_###>.txt where the ### are a incremental number. PI can takes all of them in order thanks to this patern : <file_nme>*.txt, but when processing it takes all the file in one time.
I would like to put a delay between each file. Is it possible ?
    Kind regards
    Joseph BERTHE

    Hi Joseph,
I need it because the receiver is a RFC adapter so I call a BAPI. But I want a unique call. So When the first file is eaten by PI it executes the BAPI, but during that time no one can execute that same BAPI. So I want to put a delay between each file.
    > Delay between Sender Adpter Processing will not be possible .
But you can make the Interface work in EOIO fashion . by that your inputs will be processed one after the other .
Make the parameter "Quality of Service"- Exactly Once in order at your sender adapter level for this.
EOIO (Exactly Once In Order): Here Messages are delivered with the same queue name as in the same sequence that they were sent from the sender system. Message processing will be asynchronous in this case.

  • Sender/receiver JMS Adapter XML Format

What is the XML format do we need to pass to Sender/receiver JMS adapter to get it processed. Do we have any specific format like JDBC adapter.
    Thanks,
    Sam

    Hi,
    1) The JMS adapter (Java Message Service) enables you to connect messaging systems to the Integration Engine or the PCK
    2) Before to use the JMS adapter we must first install the relevant JMS driver.
The required Java libraries are product-specific The provider setting specifications are the same for the receiver and sender adapter
3)We need to configure the JMS adapter in the configuration part of the Integration Builder/PCK
    4) The Sender JMS adapter is configured to send JMS messages to the Integration Engine or the PCK.
5)The Receiver JMS adapter is configured to be able to convert XI messages from the Integration Server or the PCK into JMS messages

    Good Morning Everyone,,
I am not able to find file.encoding option in both sender/receiver communication channels on my XI system.  Is it something to do with Java Runtime character sets installed on the XI system?
Do we need to setup something to make it available?  thanks in advance...

    Hi,
Please specify File Type parameter as Text (By default it is Binary)
For File type parameter Text the file encoding will be displayed, UTF-8 is by default encoding used.
