SAP Tech Ed08 : Eligibility

Hello All,
Heard that we get the discounted rates for certifications through SAP Tech ED...
hence wanted to know the eligibility criteria (if company sends/if we attend on our own)...
How much would be the price of the certifications(if company sends or we attend on our own)..Also let me know what documents are needed if we attend on our own without the company sponsorships
Please let me know the above details..
Thanks
Shiva

Hi,
I can confirm that there will be a 50% certification discount offered at Teched Las Vegas. The details are still being worked out before we confirm that for Berlin and Bangalore but there should be some news going out about that in the next couple of weeks. The testing will not be done at Teched this year as we found that robbed Teched delegates of valuable time to devote to the other Teched areas. We will be offering testing at VUE centers around the US and Canada where you can redeem your 50 % discount for 4 weeks following Teched. In terms of eligibility you will need an SAP User ID but you can apply for that when registering if you don't already have one.
Hope that helps,
Sue

    Hi,
You can opt for Associate or Professional level certifications based on the eligibility criteria.
    http://www.sap.com/services/education/certification/teched_2010_bangalore/index.epx
    http://www.sap.com/services/education/certification/teched_2010_bangalore_schedule/index.epx
Usually Associate level requires 3-5 years of experience in the area of certification(in your case ABAP)
Professional level requires more than 5 years
For Teched2010, we also have Associate level for ABAP certification.
    Hope this helps.

  • Regarding sap teched fee...

    hi,
I am Srikanth D.I am working in a small organization since 13 months.I want to attend the sap teched certification for this i have concern with my management.I have approved green signal from them, but they won't pay to me.I have to bare the expenses. So,for certification alone how much i have to pay and what are the documents required from my company.
    thanks & regards,
    SRIKANTH.D

    Hi Srikanth,
To appear in certification under teched you have to first register for it by paying the full registration fees :INR 16,500/-
Once you registered with teched by paying the full amount then you have to pay INR 5,500/- separately for certification exam. It means the total will be INR 16,500/+5,500/
Check this SAP teched page for more on fees:

  • Feedback for SDN Day, SAP TechEd and the SDN Clubhouse for Bangalore

    So what did everyone think?

    <u><b>SDN Day -</b></u>
I have already blogged on it <a href="/people/bhavesh.kantilal/blog/2006/11/07/sdn-bangalored">SDN Bangalored</a>. But , would like to again state that the concept was good and that the expectations for SDN Day 2007 are even higher! The fact that we are expecting more tells the fact that SDN Day B'lore 2006  was amazing!
    <u><b>SAP TechED -</b></u>
Well, here my verdict is mixed. There were a few sessions that were marked as Advanced, but were actually sessions that were for beginners. Advanced Sessions need to be truely advanced.
It would have been more fun and useful if there had been an open house session where the actual Developers of the Netweaver Products or the RIG from every development area had help Open House sessions to understand and address the ideas / questions and issues of us developers. Maybe something of this sort can be arranged at the techED's 07.
There were a few sessions did actually catch my interest and were very useful as well, but overall I expected lots but got less
    <u><b>SDN Clubhouse:</b></u>
I was there at the clubhouse every minute i was not attending a session at the Tech ED. Need I say more craig
Maybe more quizzing and more freebies next year ( human nature to be greedy and ask for more  )
To  the entire SDN team -- Special thanks to you people for the amazing experience! Hoping 2007 kicks off more surprises and more community events.
    Regards
    Bhavesh

  • Doubt in  sap teched -mdm 250exercise - step 5 ( page 5 in the document)

    hi
i am  preparing for mdm 250 _ exercise of the sap teched mdm document ,  where in step 5 its shown that , we can either upload the ports and check tables data or we can mainintain manually . its told that , the easy way is to upload the ports and check tables data by using the tab "upload  ports and check tables " ,
so now my doubt is if i want to upload that ports and check tables data using that particular tab , where do i get that text file .
in the teched the document used was -
    "MDMGX_BuPa.txt"
please help , how can i get this file to upload ....
    thanks in advance

    Hi Akhil,
that txt file contains the code.it is like a repot which we create by abap code.
I think but not sure that this file you have to create your own to your specific ports by taking help of any standard report file then you can upload this file by using the option.
other wise go for the option as "Maintain ports and check table", there you can create manually and it is very easy to do insteed of making a abap report.
you can define your own object and in that perticulat object you can create your own ports according to your requirement and then generate the XSD for perticular object and the same you can use in your repository while creating ports.
I hope this will help you.

  • SAP Tech e.g. ABAP for people with non IT Background

My current position: I am a BA graduate. Working in BPO for years though i never want. I know multimedia works in ADOBE softwares like motion picture editing, compositing & designing etc. That was a hobby but couldn't turn that into a career because of very limited scopes and less salary.
My current aim: Now planning to make my career in SAP tech like ABAP as i m interested more into developing, programming works. After a lot of search, I atleast got to know that career is good into SAP ABAP (if I am not wrong).
My query: Can I do SAP tech like ABAP and make a career as I have no IT background. If ther is any course prerequisite to be done like programming/ coding etc. before doing a SAP ABAP module. Please let me know. I'd be thankful for any detailed reply or beginning steps.
Please help me make my career....
    Regards,
    Bryan

Developer jobs always look glamorous and attractive, specially for the non-developers. Anyone who wants to be a ABAP developer should have to make a wise and informed decision to avoid dissapointment.
Here you have to keep in mind two things
    1) Firstly will you be able to master the subject
    2) Second how practical is it to get a job, after learning abap.
I feel that if someone has not gone through any kind of programming syntax & pl/sql programming earlier in their career, its going to be a pretty tough thing to be good at abap.
This is totally subjective question <and we dont know much of ure background>, its better u discuss it with some ABAP consultants face to face.
    Hope it helps.

  • ABAP Objec Oriented t vs. SAP TechEd

My boss gives me green light to go training this year.  I have a mix feeling between  ABAP OO class and SAP TechEd.  Anyone see which one is more advantage?
I am a developer and most often, I write code use old traditional way, function group, FM etc. I seldom get into ABAP Object using class, method etc... only sometimes I want to use SAP provided method like sending email, read, view,  create or attach document etc...
I do not know JAVA, so the idea of class will be new to me. None of my co-worker use ABAP object and they keep saying that they do not need it.  But when you get into debug SAP code you run into OO programming all the time.  I hate the idea of going to training and do not use it just like the course BAPI, EDI I went last year and I already forgot.
    Thanks for your input.

First, let me start by saying that the importance of ABAP Objects(OO concepts) will be increasing moving foward.  You can see this in newer transaction in R/3, like the enjoy transactions.  Also, you may notice that Web Dynpro ABAP components are entirely built on the OO concepts. Also, other new technologies have been implemented using OO concepts, like persistant objects, and shared memory objects.  So if you are not using OO now,  you should definintly start getting comfortable with it.  I have taken the course that you mentioned, and I have to say, while it is very informitive and does cover the basic concepts, you could certainly learn the same by simply going thru the help.
    http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw2004s/helpdata/en/ce/b518b6513611d194a50000e8353423/frameset.htm
If I had my choice between any SAP course, or attending TechEd, I would certainly choose TechEd.  Why?  Because instead of covering one particular aspect of SAP,  you can attend different sessions covering a much wider scope.  So you can learn about Web Dynpro ABAP in one session, and then go to another session covering Web Services.  Or maybe even skip over to a BI related session in the afternoon.  You can see what I getting at here.  Also, the networking opportunities at TechEd are excellent,  there will be a lot of diverse people there willing to share experiences and knowledge with you.
    Hope this helps.
