Hi Msheard,
This past summer I took the TERP10 certification at my college.  I also found the course to be demanding but well worth my time and money.
I would suggest when talking to employers about the certification that you earned, you tell them some of your experience in the class.  Just telling them you took the TERP10, probably wonu2019t help too much.  Once you get into detail about a certain module, they will understand some of the knowledge you gained.

  • Looking for:  UA members with Student SAP User Group

    UA Professors in North America:
Does your campus have an offical SAP student user group, ERP special interest group or similar?  If you do, please post with a brief description of what that group is / does.
In the next month I would like to organize a conference call for the schools with these SIGs to understand what member schools are doing, how the groups are organized, how the groups are (or are not) affiliated with your SAP initiative on campus, what works / doesn't work for your students and so on.  Students at member schools have more and more interest in starting these groups - and we'd like to be ready to share best practices!  Our colleagues at ASUG are interested in this topic as well, and will join us for the call.
    Thanks for sharing!
    Best Regards,

Central Michigan University has remained active since Dr. Andera's last post (9/29/10). We fulfilled our goal of visiting Cargil and 3M this past March 2013 in ST. Paul/ Minneapolis.I attached a couple pictures of our visits to 3M & Cargil. It was a very rewarding experience that allowed us to present our program to each company in depth. This trip taught us as group many things. We have also gone to multiple ASUG meetings including Grand Rapids, and Detroit. We are currently invited to the ASUG-Illinois Meeting on Nov 1 at Harper College, and will be hosting an event in the fall here on CMU's campus in Mt. Pleasant, MI.
As a group we have weekly meetings including guest speakers and SAP TERP10 training sessions. Our group has now reached 100+ students and continues to grow each year. There are many things we are doing that attract new students.
For instance, this past year the Information Management Institute here on campus conducted the 1st annual ERPSim. An annual invitation only competition challenging the best ERPsim teams in a competition to determine which team has developed and implemented the best business strategy for the ERPsim Game.  Twenty teams of four students and one mentor competed head-to-head for the Top Honor of ERPsim Champion. The top five teams were rewarded with scholarship money and plaques.
So to answer your question, Central Michigan University currently has a very active SAP UASUG , and it only continues to grow!
If you have any further questions, please do not hesitate to ask, I am the president of the group here at CMU and would love to help you. Just email me at [email protected]

    Hi,
I am a student pursuing Master's Degree in Information Technology & Management.

I wish to know about TERP 10 certification.
Will it benefit me in future ??
Please post your comments. I need some guidance

Hi Sneha, If you are new to SAP it's a good idea to start with SAP TERP10 training as TERP10 is a very good course/certification to go through and it covers SAP ERP business suite functionality and how various modules (FI,CO,SD,PP,MM,QM etc...) are integrated and how the data flows between them.

  • Where to find entry level sap jobs with a Terp10 Certification

Hello I am a soon to be college graduate graduating this December.
My question is with a Terp10 certification and no work experience what can I expect from the job market. Are there companies that hire college graduates with no SAP work experience? Are there any resources that help graduates find entry level SAP jobs.

    Hi ,
Welcome to the World of SAP !
As a fresher there are lot of options to start the career in SAP domain . As a fresher doing a certification *** training with out any prior experience , the opportunities for getting a job will be very less. SAP is a Enterprise business software which has the Technical ( ABAP,BASIS .......) Functional (SD,PP,MM,FI,...) Techno Functional modules . Choose a very option to get started . Getting a right career is not a tough job for you , search in web , read about sap , lot of online information ,forums available . choosing a career is a brainstorming work , my suggestion drop the idea of doing certification , as you are a fresher and very difficult to get a job without any experience . Please check the links to get start . good luck

  • TERP10 online study material from SAP

Nothing is available free online for SAP Business Process Integration and Solution Architecture Couse!!

  • Staff Delivering TERP10 -Queries regarding Grey Areas in the content-

I am looking to obtain a list of all UA staff members that are delivering TERP10. Is anyone aware of a list like that?
The reason I want this, is that there are some "grey" areas within the TERP10 materials that would be good to have a general view of these.
For example, I have a burning question regarding organisational levels. Although we know that Client is the highest organisational level and thus is implicitly used in all units (PP,MM SD, etc) there are some units that do not clearly specify whether client is used or not. For example, in procurement (unit 4) the slides clearly specify that client is one of the organisational level used in this unit, however, in inventory management and warehouse management (unit 8) and sales order management (unit 9) client is not specified as an organisational unit. The problem here is not understanding, but at the time of the exam. What a student would write is he/she is asked if Client is an organisational unit used in SD? my view is that should say yes, but the materials are not clear about this.
    Looking forward to your replies

    Dear all,
Thank you very much for your answers.
First I want to highlight the issue that my query is regarding TERP10 materials and not the concept itself. When you are training students in TERP10 they are concern about which is the correct answer, as the need to know this when they face the SAP certification exam.
In this note and after a good debate with my colleagues we found that SAP classifies organisational levels in different ways. For example, if you are asked which is the "highest" organisational level in - lets say- procurement, then the answer is Client. However, if you ask which is the "central" organisational unit in procurement, then the answer is not client but Plant.
One question that still puzzle us is what would be the answer to the question:
Select ALL organisational units "USED" in procurement. Then the answer should be Client, Company Code, Purchasing Organisation/Purchasing group and plan. If you look at TERP10 material you find this information in the slides. However, when you look at Financial Accounting, in the section when they describe the organisational units used, Client is not mentioned at all. So we know we use Client in FI but it is not mentioned. What a student should answer if they asked to select all organisational nits used in FI? Selecting Client to me is a correct answer but I am not sure if this is correct, as SAP did not specify Client in their materials.
    Any views on this?
    Thanks for your help

  • Terp10 experience at Kelley School of Business, Indiana University

The TERP10 certification was held at the Kelley School of Business, Indiana University on Friday, 29th of May 2009. The associated boot-camp was conducted in the days preceding the certification. The class achieved a 100% pass rate.
I attempt to share my overall experience w.r.t the certification in this thread:
The boot-camp is fairly intensive as the class lasts the entire day. Given the amount of information to be absorbed, it is important to learn in the class, alongside the lecture rather than allocate a separate post-class study time.  Nevertheless, 2-3 hours of study time for revision outside of the class is useful.
    A few tips:
    1. In order to perform well in the certification, it is important to gain a sound understanding of every topic. Alongside, one must also keep the exam's format in mind while preparing. Since the test consists of mostly multiple choice questions, the need to memorize vital bits of information is reduced, but not eliminated. A solid understanding of the concepts, coupled with some amount of memorization is necessary to perform well.
    2. It is important to understand how each module fits into the larger scheme of things. You're expected to know how the modules interact with each other.
    3. While not absolutely essential, it is useful to prepare a set of notes that can be referred to.
Given the breadth of topics covered, the TERP10 exam is challenging. However, with a sound study plan the complexity is reduced, and the entire process becomes a lot more enjoyable!
Edited by: anpai on Jun 3, 2009 2:19 AM

    Hello Anpai,
Many thanks for the informative post. And very well done with the pass rate! I would have to agree with you on the need to have some understanding of every topic. That and remembering to answer absolutely every question. The tree network and ability to jump between branches makes it very easuty to forget. I asked my students to open up the tree at the very end of the exam to its maximum extent just to see if there were any buttons unchecked. It's rare but it does happen that sometimes students have forgotten a question in one section - often one they thought they would go back to.
I think it is also important to have a study plan - the material can be overwhelming to begin with and a clear navigational aid can be invaluable. In fact I tell my students that the best thing to do before starting the course is remove any section headers, blank pages, note pages and so on from their course books - anything which doesn't add anything. This can reduce the volume of the materials considerably and gives an important psychological boost! Combined with a clear navigatinal aid and practice questions the students know exactly what they need to do and don't feel lost.
I also agree with Timothy on the need to express to the students that they will need to commit to the topic. The TERP10 course certainly isn't a walkover and students need to know that this is not a 'basic' SAP course - it is an SAP course and all of the courses are designed to be taxing in order to make them valuable in the marketplace. Once they understand that - and note how valuable it is - they are prepared to commit to it. 2-3 hours is I think more of a minimum time to spend on reading - depending on your ability to absorb information - but my best students (and indeed faculty) are thosew that spent until 11pm / midnight each night studying and making notes.
I think finally the most significant thing to take away would be that the stduents both need to understand how the modules interact. There are specific comments within the reading materials and of course questions that ask deliberately how module A interacts with module B. But the course title is something of a giveaway and the students who gain the clearest understanding of how the system extends beyond inidivudal rooes not on ly does better at the exam - they have taken the key learning away from the course!

  • Need Suggestion for SRH Heidelberg program of SAP masters

    HI ,
There are two SAP masters program available in the SRH Heidelberg University of Applied Science. However, the masters of computer science which has specialization in SAP costs 10,000 euros and the SAP corporate masters program  costs 40,000 euros. I am planning to join the Masters of computer science program which provides internship. I have tried to find the difference between these two program. The only difference I could find was that the two certifications that are offered in SAP corporate masters program (SAP certified associate) from SAP education and TERP10 certification are not available with masters of computer science program and also there are some differences in the study model. As there is not much clarity on the differences between the two program available anywhere on internet. I would like to know if you or anyone on this network forum would be able to answer me by letting me know the difference between these programs and is the Master of computers science from this university helpful for freshers who wants to make their career in SAP.
