SAP to 3rd party: EDI and XI: Needed advantages and disadvantages

HI All,
I have a requirement to sent PO data from SAP to 3rd party Vendors.(more than 30 vendors). Client insists on using EDI.!!
I have completed the config on SAP R/3 side and IDOCS are created in SAP R/3.
Since we have XI in the landscape, I have a few questions in my mind. Appreciate if you could give you feedback on these questions:
1. Should we send data directly from SAP to 3rd party using EDI adapter and avoid XI.
2. I assume EDI adapter will automatically convert IDOC to vendor format data and vice-versa.
3. All 30+ vendors will need to access this EDI adapter system or do they all need to have a separate one installed in there landscape.
4. If we use XI, will the adapter be able to communicate to XI. If yes what is the adapter name which connects to XI.
5. All vendors need this data in a slightly different format, so will the EDI adapter do the format conversion for every vendor ?
6. Since all vendors have a diff file format needed, I want to avoid doing extensive message mapping in XI. So can the EDI adapter handle it or is ther any easy way to do this mapping.
7. If mapping is not possible, then does it mean I will have to create a separate IDOC for each vendor in R/3 ( in vendor specific format) and send that to them.

A) For EDI integration u need to have the EDi adapters and for that u need to purchase the seeburger license and which is need to be installed on XI and after that only u can use EDi adapter with Xi.
U can not ignore XI.
2. I assume EDI adapter will automatically convert IDOC to vendor format data and vice-versa.
A) Yes but only when u purchase the seeburger license. there are other ways as well either use conversion agent or module program which convert the XML to EDI format.

A) U have to use the EDI adapters with Xi and configure ur scenario in XI for all the vendors.

A) Seeburger provide As2,X400,FTP,VAn adapters for EDi integration.
5. All vendors need this data in a slightly different format, so will the EDI adapter do the format conversion for every vendor ?
A) What EDI format ur vendor receivers the data it depends upon that.
6. Since all vendors have a diff file format needed, I want to avoid doing extensive message mapping in XI. So can the EDI adapter handle it or is ther any easy way to do this mapping.
A) Mapping is the part of desing and mapping changes accroding to the business requirement and mapping rule which is provided by Functional people.
7. If mapping is not possible, then does it mean I will have to create a separate IDOC for each vendor in R/3 ( in vendor specific format) and send that to them.
A) u need to do the mapping between IDOC and EDi then only the data will be mapped with the required target EDI strcuture.

It seems there is nothing to do with IE mode.
Please make sure your link still can be accessed.
The WebBrowser displays HTML content in applications running in a Silverlight 4 or later out-of-browser applications or in Silverlight 5 in-browser trusted applications only.

Backup and synching with a Windows Server, what 3rd party software do I need.

I have a Macbook Air. We just got a new Server, a Dell PowerEdge T420 running Windows Small Business Server 2011 CAL Suite.
I am told my Macbook Air will not Snych to backup files from a defined folder (like My Documents) and e-mail in Outlook. Mac's can't do that.
I don't believe that is true. Can anyone give me direction. Is there some 3rd party software that allows Mac to do this?

There are several ways you can pull the music off your iPod and onto iTunes. The first link below provides step-by-step instructions for the direct method if you have a PC as well as a few third party applications (for both the Mac and PC) if you choose to go that route instead. You can also do a simple Google search for "copy music from iPod to computer" and you should receive a number of sites that can help you out.
Just make sure that when you have your iPod plugged into your computer, that you don't hit "Erase and Sync" before completing the task of copying your music over.
Also, if you have any purchased music, you will probably have to re-authorize your computer by heading to the Store drop down menu and choosing "Authorize computer."

I am trying to send customer invoice to an external system via PI with IDoc type INVOIC02. I have done the basic setting for the output type ZRD0 to transfer the document via. EDI.
I have created a partner profile for Logical System u2013 SYSCLNT100 (LS) in WE20 and have given the outbound parameters with the message type INVOIC.
These are the settings for my partner profile:

msg type: INVOIC
Outbound Options: Receiver port: A000000050 (tRFC)
Packet size: 1
Transfer IDOC immediately

We are sending the Invoice to 3rd party system and not the Customer (KU); hence we would like to maintain WE20 for the Logical System. All the Invoice's generated in the system should be sent to a fixed 3rd Party system, please advice

OEM: for 3rd party target it showing status pending and not getting up

I've develop a 3rd party plug-in for monitoring my application. After deploying that plug-in I'm getting status pending for my target instead of status up.
1. not sure where is the problem. any help is this regard is appreciated
2. if I update my plug-in xml file (default collection file) why it's not updating the schedule/threshold. Is there any need that if I've to update the schedule/threshold for metric through my custom script then I've to re-jar it and re-deploy it? Can't it be possible that I update the custom script file and reload the agent and OEM start capturing the metric info?

3rd party plugins not working after archive and install

hi,
i have a few 3rd party plugins in my logic pro, such as all the native instruments, waves diamond, ik multimedia plugins, atmosphere and a few more,
i was getting an error on my g5 when i tried to run diskwarrior from the disk. it was the kernal panic message, it said i had to restart my mac, therefore i couldnt run diskwarrior from disk.
i did a bit of research and a few people suggested doing a archive install, so i did.
well what do you know, i had to re-install logic 8 again. other programmes such as transcribe, itunes idvd imovie etc were ok.
but logic didnt load up, o i had to re-install logic again,
also before i did that i checked to see if my 3rd party plugin were working in standalone, so i check all the native instruments and they seemed to work ok, T-racks deluxe works fine, so i thought they should all load up in logic.
once logic was installed again and had to get all the updates all my 3rd party plugins did not show up on my AU validation.
is there a way to get logic to see my 3rd party plugins or do i have to re-install all of them again.

Then check if the NI AU components are actually where they should be:
HD/Library/Audio/Plug-Ins/Components
If not copy them over from your "previous systems" folder which was created on your HD during the archive and install process.

Why is my 3rd party ipad mini charger stop working and showing up as non certified/unreliable?

Hi.
Last night I unpluged my ipad to bring it to my living room and the charger was working fine.
3 hours later I bring it to my room again to charge it. (It was at 18%) and it wouldnt charge.
I turned on my xbox 360 Original and when I pluged it in to my xbox it said "This cable is un-certified or unreliable to this device."
I said "Must be the xbox." I then plugged it into my 10 watt USB power adapter. Same message.
I tried it with the brick that came with the ipad.It was the same message. I then tried it with my brick that xame with my Ipod touch.
Same. I only had one more brick and that was my camoflauged brick. Same message. I then tried plugging it into my Windows 8.1 Gateway laptop.
It wont even show up on I-exsplorer! I then gave up. I really hope someone can help me with this.
(I have never jailbroke my ipad, I already have 2 official chargers that broke and one broke in 1 week, Its also dead right now and nobody i know has a new fashioned charger. It is also a 3rd party charger that is saying that. I also had it for a month and it never had problems ever.)
Please help.

In the meantime, plug your USB cable into your computer. It may say "Not Charging", however, it will charge, but slowly.

we are in process of developing a project that will send the following good movements information to the PI Box.
goods receipt,
return to vendor,
cancellation of the receipt.
I wanted to know what is the best possible scenario in which we can do.
and also wondering if i want to populate an idoc and send to PI Box which idoc i shld be using..
note: It should be an outbound idoc (I have found inbound idocs for posting in sap)
If any one has some ideas or suggestion, Your help will be appreciated.

Mass Data upload in SAP from 3rd party system

Hi Experts.
Can anyone help me how to do mass data upload in SAP. Actually, when any new joining is done, a form is being filled by employee(joining form), and that data is finally updated in SAP manually using various infotypes. Now, i m planning to make that form available in webpage. The employee will go to the webpage, fill the data , also the HR will fill the required fields, and once the form is complete, the data will get updated in SAP, in resp. infotypes. Like personal details in infotye 2, address in infotype 6, bank details in 9 and so on, in a single shot. Is there any BAPI or something like that, using which this can be achieved.

You can try BAPI_BANK_CREATE for IT0009, BAPI_ADDRESSEMP_CREATE for IT0006 and BAPI_PERSDATA_CREATE for IT0002. Otherwise, you can also use FM HR_MAINTAIN_MASTERDATA to create any infotype.

Distribute different versions of data to 3rd party systems from SAP ERP2004

Dear fellow SDN users
I am working in a large retail company where we are about to implement a new store system. The new system should be implemented in phases, where each phase covers one or multiple countries. Until the implementation is complete, our old store system should still be supported.
My problem is that we also need to support multiple versions of the systems, which is something we have never done before. Do any of you guys have any experience in how to differentiate versions of the data being sent from SAP to 3rd party systems? The scenario today is:
SAP ECC 6.0 -> SAP PI 7.0 -> STORE SYSTEM1
And the scenario we would like in the future:
SAP ECC 6.0 -> SAP PI 7.0 -> STORE SYSTEM1/STORE SYSTEM2
(Where it is possible to send several versions of data: e.g. ARTMAS ver. 1 to SYSTEM1 and ARTMAS ver. 2 to SYSTEM1 and ARTMAS ver. 1 to SYSTEM2)
The first thing that came to my mind was to differentiate on IDOC extension and then program different routines per extension when sending the idocs, but I guess there should be an easier way.
Any idea is greatly appreciated.

I guess it depends on how the information you want to send to various partner systems differs, but have you considered using reduction?
I am at a client currently where we need to send similar information to a number of systems - for example Customer information using the DEBMAS message type, is going to three seperate systems.
To do this we defined 3 reduced messages - Tcode BD53. This not only reduces the load placed on PI/whatever middleware system is used by eliminating unnecessary data from each message variant, but allows the message to be treated differently by PI, using different data mappings, distribution models etc.

Need to do invoice verification even PO price is zero due to 3rd party sale

AR complained he is not be able to do invoice with message " Billing quantity is zero"
After diagnosis, I found out it's a third party sales order..followed by Purchase order, becasue materials are free stock, thus PO has no unit cost..,after we issue GR, our AP can't to invoice verification (MIRO) due to PO priced is zero, which cause AR is not be able to invoice.
I temporarily solve the problem by reverse the GR, addn cost in PO, followed GR(MIGO) and IR (MIRO), at MIRO I adjust GL to offset the balance to price variance, in this way ,we don't need to actually pay vendor. Then AR is able to do invoice
My question is If there is any way that enable me to invoice verification even if PO price is zero to enable further customer invoice for third party sales process.
Your advice will be deeply appreciated.

A real 3rd party order does not need a goods receipt.
it only needs an invoice receipt which in turn enables billing to the customer.
As a free of charge delivery is usually not billed, this process is not possible in SAP without modification.

In the standard system it is not planned to generate a free of charge item during third-party order processing, here an invoice receipt is required. Assign manual cost and profit center for 3rd party purchase order

When we have a 3rd party purchase order we need to assign OUR cost and profit center to that document. Here is the scenario:
We buy a product from a vendor for $10 and then re-sell the product to a customer for $100. Instead of posting this information to either cost or profit center of the vendor and customer, we need to assign the $10 to our company cost center and the $90 to our company's profit center. We are basically acting as a middle man for selling a product.
I am fairly a newbie, so please provide detailed answers if possible. We create the sales order in VA01 and create the purchase order in ME22N.

For any accounting entry you need to define a General Ledger Account where the details (Amount) of the transaction will be stored.
Just by maintaining cost centre will not help in completing any transaction involving accounts. So you need to maintain G/L account in the controlling area of your company code.
You can use T Code FS00 to create new G/L account in the chart of accounts.
In the edit cost element Tab you can give the cost center that you want.

Talking Dictionary and 3rd party Chinese IME confl...

I once had a Nokia (non smart) phone with a rather capable Chinese input system (alas I misplaced the phone). And now my e52 won't let me enter several characters at a time, and the few consecutive pairs that it does let me enter are very restrictive. For example, if I hit the keypad: 942649468 hoping to enter xiang'zhou (香洲) it only offers zhang'zhou (漳州). This is one example of how limited my phone's IME is. It makes it very difficult for me to enter certain phrases (especially where I am not entirely sure which the correct individual Chinese characters are).
A feasible solution is to download and install a third party IME. I was successfully using sogou pinyin. This works fine -albeit it has a crippled English input method compared to the phone's default method (prediction & auto completion). I found it a bearable compromise. I had accepted the use of the inferior English input system in exchange for the more robust Chinese IME.
However, after I updated my firmware the (English-Chinese) Talking Dictionary that comes with the phone refuses to work with a third party Chinese IME. If the IME is active the dictionary exits instead of showing definitions (and translations) when pressing the select key to view a word/term.
I have tried reinstalling the firmware, I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling several Chinese IME (sogou, QQpinyin, baidu pinyin, ZTA4) , but the Talking Dictionary still fails.
Another solution I'd like to try is uninstalling and reinstalling the Talking Dictionary. Unfortunately, I have no idea where/how to find the appropriate functioning installation file for the dictionary. I have found a few .sis on the web but one installs a dictionary whose viewing window is too big and the definitions are cut off (horizontal scroll is unavailable) and the rest result in several certificate issues (my guess is that these files are somehow not quite authentic/legit). In the end, I went to the shop where I bought the phone; there, they deleted all the apps on my SD card and reinstalled some of the default applications that came with the phone –the talking dictionary inclusive. The updated firmware seems to remain unchanged; as did anything that was installed on the phone’s memory. I would like to note that the shop was incapable of simply installing the dictionary. And as for my third party Chinese IME and Talking Dictionary conflict, the only thing they suggested was that I shut off the 3rd party IME when using the dictionary and turn it back on when I need to type Chinese messages. This solution, -though admittedly effective- is rather cumbersome, to say the least.
An ideal solution for me would be if I could upgrade my phones default IME, as I very much enjoy its English entering abilities. Alternatively, I am prepared to settle for the decrepit English input offered by third party Chinese IME software if I can at least leave it on (w/o having to switch it off when using my talking dictionary –an invaluable tool for me).
I would be much obliged if I anyone could offer any solutions, or at least point me in the right direction to download the appropriate functioning installation file for the Cambridge International English talking dictionary with Chinese translations that comes with my phone.

I've successfully found a functioning installation file for the talking dictionary. Unfortunately, this did not solve the conflict between the dictionary and sogou pinyin. A conflict that I don't recall encountering, prior to the firmware upgrade.
