SAP to Ceridian interface through ALE

Dear all,
I have a requirement where the Payroll Data from SAP has to be sent to the Ceridian system through ALE IDOCS. This should send the data to Ceridian and might involve some extra information that needs to be pulled in to the standard segments as well. Please let me know the procedure for the same..especially the IDOC type and Message type that needs to be used and how to send the information through them. Any help is greatly appreciated and points guaranteed for all useful replies.

SOLMAN monitoring of SAP XI/PI interfaces

Hello! ALL
We have been leveraging SAP XI/PI monitoring capabilities using the Alter Framework: ALRTCATDEF and setting up alert rules in RWB.
However, we would like to start leveraging SOLMAN monitoring features for monitoring SAP XI/PI interfaces.
Please, let us know if anyone has been using SOLMAN for monitoring SAP XI/PI AE & IE interface errors AND how it can be done; so that we can work with Basis in getting this set up in SOLMAN.
Any info - or - documentation and links related to SOLMAN monitoring of SAP XI/PI interfaces would help.

Organisational structure replication through ALE

Hi Gurus,
Can you guide me how to do organisational structure replications through ALE.
The transaction to be used are BD21 .
I have tried and i am not able to see any IDOCS in green colour without error.
Can anybody explain me the process in detail.

Incoming Invoice Parking through ALE

Hello Gurus,
We have a scenario in which we trigger a IDoc on saving of VF01 transaction( INVOIC01).
We send this IDoc to the other SAP system.
Here we have to park this Invoice through MIR7.
Here the reference for parking Invoice is PO for Thirty Party Scenario and Delivery Note for GR based.
This we need to to do through ALE.
Please let me let know if we need any conversion rules and is it possible by using the said IDoc: INVOIC01.
Also do we require to apply any SAP note.

If you want to park an EDI-invoice, you can use the note 501524.

Issues in employee replication from ECC to CRM through ALE/IDOC

Hi,
We are replicating the employees from ECC to CRM through ALE/IDOC.
Some times for some employees, the Idoc status in CRM is 52(Application document not fully posted) in CRM (WE02 tcode)
If I see the details its showing as " Identification Category BPCCOD is Not Assigned to Any Identification Type"
What I need to do now to avoid this.

Hi Babu, I'm having the same error when I replicate my employes. I have define BPCCOD in spro - Cross-Application Components - SAP Business Partner - Business Partner - Basic Settings - Identification Numbers, but this configuration does not resolve my problem.
Could you resolve this problem?.

Transfer of Classes( Classification data) - through ALE

Hi experts,
I am trying to transfer Classes from a 3.1i system to a ECC 6.0 system through ALE distribution.
Almost all the classes got transferred but in a few of the classes, the status of the idoc remains at 64 - waiting to be processed.
When I scheduled the processing of these idocs in background mode they result in a dump.
Dump:
The exception, which is assigned to class 'CX_SY_ARITHMETIC_OVERFLOW', was not
caught in
procedure "MAINTAIN_ALLO_VALUES_VIA_API" "(FORM)", nor was it propagated by a
RAISING clause.
This dump is happening because sy-index value is crossing 2147483647 ( which is the max allowed value).
I could not find any relevant notes for it. Does anyone know what is causing this issue and how to correct it.
FYI - There are around 3000 values attached to a characteristic which is attached to the class.

Interface through XI or P2P - How to decide?

We are in the process of implementing XI for a client.
The client currently has about 600 point to point interfaces connecting more than 200 applications to SAP (and to each other).
We are in the process of routing these point-to-point interfaces through XI.
My concern is:
Is there a strategy or guideline to decide which of the existing interfaces should be moved through XI and which of these should continue as point-to-point?
I need inputs from the technical angle as well as the business perspective.
In case I need to pose this question in a business forum too...comments on this will be welcome.

Hey Prasad,
To address few of the queries,
Firstly with cost.
In this case as there are more number of legacy applicaiton and i would assume there is huge amount data being transfered btw legacy and sap the cost involved including licesnse will be on the higher side.
Time lines again depending upon the complexity varies.
If the organization has already implemented sap and want to consolidate upon it in a long term then XI is the best way out. P2P might be the current solution but the complexity of managing such interfaces in a lng term tends to get tedious and higher on the maintenance as you don't have certralized monitoring of such interfaces.
Most important is to have a understanding where sap currently sits in the organizaton in terms of strategy and commitment of the leadership in pushing the drive to leverage on it. At the end of the day now focus has moved from cost ot business benfits.
You cannot avoid BPM in this case.
The customer has some set SLAs which they intend to achieve with XI...for example an end-to-end JCO call takes less than 1 second in the current landscape.....whether we can achieve this from XI...

Report for Purchase Orders didnt reach target through ALE

Hi Experts,
we are sending Purchase Orders to Third party system using XI.
But some of the orders when we save its automatically system generating output medium is PRINT so these orders not going through ALE.
1)Can anyone please tell me why the system is generating PRINT instead of ALE distribution.
2) is there any report for how many purchase orders created for the day and how many of them gone through successfull using ALE distribution.
Answer will be rewarded.

Have you configured the PO Output type/messages with the Medium as 'A'(ALE)
otherwise the system willd efualt take 1(print) as default medium.
Check the NAST table entries for that date created Output type of PO's
for all of them the Medium(NACHA) field should be A
then all will go through ALE
check them.

I installed following products but don't know how to connect SAP R/3 system through webdynpro.
EP : 6.0 SP10 (Only Java instance)
OS : Windows 2000
DB : Oracle 9i
R3 : Version 46B BASIS SUPPORT PACK 30
OS : Solaris 8
DB : Informix 7.31 fd2x9
Am new to NETWEAVER programming my desire is to connect

...and for "classical" portal development (i.e. PAR files), first create a system object in system administration --> system configuration --> system landscape and set all configuration parameters for your R/3 system accordingly there.
Next decide on you you like to implement SSO to this system (user mapping or SAP logon tickets). For the latter one, some additional steps need to be performed on the R/3 side. Please check service.sap.com/securityguide for this or do a search on the SDM forums on "sap logon tickets". There also are various nice weblogs on this, e.g. Quick Guide for setting up SSO between EP and R/3
Now for the "data fetching" part. This will require doing an RFC call from EP to your R/3 system. For this, you usually utilize SPA Java Connector (JCo) through JCA. Hi,
If we are loading the conditions by IDoc type COND_A, we do not give the transaction code, instead we specify the table (like KVEWE = 'A' & KOTABNR = '025' for the Inforecords with plant level conditions), We give the condition records to structure E1KONP with condition PB00 as first condition followed by other conditions ( example RA00, RA01) in sequence as per the condition schema mentioned.
So you can load the FRA1 condition the same way, just feed the LSMW the condition record FRA1after PB00.
