Sap to microsoft project

hi to all
is it so possible in standard SAP that what ever we plan in planning board can be exported to micro project?
if so, can u suggest me the steps...
if not, any interface software's are required???????? what is open PS, is it available in SAP or we have to procure it?
regards
surya

Hi Surya,
Yes it is possible the exchange data between the Project System (PS) and Microsoft Project. You can transfer data from Microsoft Project to the Project System, and from the Project System to Microsoft Project.
You need not to buy Open PS for Microsoft Project (OpenPS4MSP), it is to get downloaded from www.service.sap.com
For this refer below sdn link.

    Hi,
SAP-PS & MSP interface can be obtained through Open PS. SAP has provided Open PS for downloading & uploading projects from MSP to SAP-PS & vice versa. Open PS can be downloaded from service.sap.com. Please follow the URL to know more details on same. http://help.sap.com/erp2005_ehp_02/helpdata/en/4c/22698846e611d189470000e829fbbd/frameset.htm

  • Using Flex with Microsoft Project

I am absolutely brand new to FLEX. What I saw on the Adobe
site was a data chart that could be drilled down to expose
additional layers of "contriburory detail" for the master graph.
What I am wondering is if it is possible to do something
similar using Micrsoft Project Data as the basis. MS Project will
allow users to save the file as XML. So, all the data should be
available in a form understandable to FLEX.
Here's the tricky part (and I can add more detail if needed).
Project will create a summary line (at some level of indentue) and
show you a calculated %Complete such as 47%. So, level of indenture
1 I have the major summary tasks of the project at various status
of %Complete. I believe FLEX can make some type of bar or pie chart
out of that for me. What I want to do is click on a "Level1"
indenture and have it expose the Level2 indure that contributes to
that 47%. Then drill on one of the Level2's to Level3 .... to Level
    "n".
This needs to be accomplished in "stand alone" fashion so the
ultimate user can launch a desktop application and tell the
application the name of the Microsoft Project XML file. We will not
be able to use Client/Server ... client side only with the file
located either locally or at least on a network drive.
Can this be done? Has anyone looked at a MS Project XML
schema to see if there is sufficeint information available?
OK, now the blunt truth. It ain't %Complete that I care
about. What I care about is BCWS, BCWP, ACWP, %Complete, and a few
other parameters. These are the "Earned Value Fields". If you do
not know what they are, don't worry about it just now .... it is
really all just time phased data.
Can anyone give me some advice or an opinion? TIA.
    Jim

    Hi,
OpenPS for Microsoft project (OpenPS4MSP) is an Add-on to SAP R/3 Project System which enables users to transfer project related data between Microsoft Project and R/3 Project System.
Refer SAP Note: 579761 for OpenPS.
Then to integrate SAP and Primavera , you can use various integration tools available. One of them is Primavera Inspire.

    Hello Roberto,
E-Mail rerouting is possible with an Exchange server. We use an adress [email protected] provided from the Exchangeserver. The mail is then forwarded to [email protected] to be retrieved by our CRM System for further processing. Please ask your Exchange admin again. • OpenPS 4.0 doesn't work in Microsoft Project

    Hi,
I have installed the OpenPs 4.0 but when I enter to the Microsoft Project the software doesn't work. When I click in "connect" button the message "logon failed" appears. Sometimes it locks and the Microsoft Project closed.
    Thanks.
Edited by: Tiago Buss on Feb 23, 2012 5:24 PM

It's the MSP 2007 Standard English Version and SAP ECC 6.0 version. I've already installed the MSP 2003 with the OpenPS 2.02 and MSP 2007 with the OpenPS 2.02... All possibilities but no success.

  • Integration with Microsoft project

    Hi
I am trying to create a ECC project from MSP(using OPENPS). However one of the field in SAP is mandatory at project definition(ex Company code). But I cant see the same field in MSP hence system does not create any project and showing a message enter the Company Code.
I created a column in microsoft project as "Company code" but it did'nt work. Please suggest how to create project in this case.
    Thanks & Regards
    Aby

    Hi,
OPENPS can not handle different company codes. It takes company code mentioned in the project profile.
You can try different project profiles for each company code.
You can also make the company code field as input field and then make changes manually after uploading from OPENPS. Can make a BDC or LSMW for this also.
Try MPS tool, but it is not free tool, it works on top of OPENPS so you still need OPENPS installed on your system but MPS gives many more options to work with; download its free version and test if it can fulfill your requirement.

  • Using Webi to generate report from Microsoft Project?

Does anyone know if there a way to create a Webi report from Microsoft Project?  Can put me in the right direction towards accomplishing this task?

  • Has anyone Connected a Crystal Report directly to a Microsoft Project file (MPP)?

    Post Author: Brian Morris
CA Forum: Data Connectivity and SQL
Iu2019m aware I can save Microsoft Project Files (MPP) to an Access Database, Excel document etc. and there are ways to connect to a Microsoft Project Server.
I wanted to know if anyone has managed to connect directly to one though. Currently we use MPPs to report project status and other deliverables, and itu2019s been an annoyance to have to save the project file then export the data over into a new excel document when ever we have changes (since not all users have project or need all the data in the file).
Preferably, a user should be able to save that project file and anyone that has the Crystal report should be able to run the report against the MPP file. In addition to this, it would be extremely helpful in getting a formalized and nicely formatted report when running reports against rational and MMP files, thus giving an alternative from SODA reports in Microsoft word, which doesnu2019t always work well.
    Thanks!

CA Forum: Data Connectivity and SQL
Ok, I answered my own question on the connection issue, but I'm having issues with the predefined fields that enter into the report. The Database Expert shows the correct table names, but when I select them and look at the fields, they are all showing fields that are part of the "Project" table. when I use "Add Command" and use SQL to do a "Select * From TableName" ,where TableName is the name of the respective table, I get the data I'm looking for. Has anyone else run into this error? Is the error on Crystal Reports side or the Data provider's OLE DB driver? Has anyone with a fully patched system encountered the same errors?
Current SetupCrystal Version: 11.0.0.1282CR Professional; Product Type:FullOLE DB Driver: Microsoft Project 10.0 OLE DB Provider
I have pasted my findings below, hopefully other people won't have the same issues I did trying to find this information. if anyone else wants to test and see if they get the same issues I did it would be greatly appreciated.
Connecting a Crystal Report XI to a Microsoft Project File (MPP)
    Prerequisites (as I know them)
    -          Have an installation of Crystal Reports on the machine (a given)
    -          Have Microsoft Project 2000/2003 installed OR  the Microsoft Project OLE DB provider which is installed with Microsoft Project (NOTE: Microsoft 2007 supposedly no longer supports OLE DB and requires an OLAP cube be made or a SOAP connection be used, which I donu2019t deal with personally)
    Creating the connection
    Start Crystal Reports
Click u201CBlank Reportu201D on the start page
    in the u201CDatabase Expertu201D window, under u201CAvailable Data Sourcesu201D, Select u201C+u201D next to u201CCreate New Connectionu201D
    Select the u201C+u201D beside u201COLE DB(ADO)u201D
If a u201COLE DB (ADO)u201D  window does not come up, double click u201CMake New Connectionu201D
In the u201Cprovider:u201D box Select the u201CMicrosoft Project 10.0 OLE DB Provideru201D
The name may be different depending on the version of project you install and the patch you have on the machine
    Select u201CNext >u201D
Under u201CDatabase:u201D copy/paste in the path and project file name
I donu2019t believe the other fields u201CData Source:u201D, u201CUser ID:u201D, or u201CPasswordu201D need to be filled out, and in fact, I got an error when entering in data into them
    Example: u201CC:\Projects\Project Name\Current Schedule.mppu201D
    Select u201CNext >u201D
In the Advaned information window, verify the project Name is the path of the project.
I have not found the use of u201CEnterprise Modeu201D (default: 0), u201CAlways Loadu201D (default: 0), u201COLE DB Servicesu201D(default: -5), or u201CEnterprise RUID Listu201D (default: blank), removing them or changing them did cause errors though.
    Click u201CFinishu201D
Adding in Tables and extracting data
You now have a connection to the project File you listed. There is an issue Iu2019ve found though that all the tables you see listed are filling their fields in from the u201CProjectu201D Table, rather then their respective tables (Example: u201CAssignmentsu201D is pointing at u201CProjectu201D rather then the obvious connection u201CAssignmentsu201D). You can, however, use the u201CAdd Commandu201D and select the table you want with just a little SQL code:
    Select *
    From Assignments
After creating the command, highlight it and hit u201CF2u201D. You should be able to edit the name and change it from u201CCommandu201D to something more meaningful. At the current time Iu2019m unsure if the issue with the default tables all pointing toward the project table is an error on the provider side or Crystal Reports end, and if one of the new patches will fix it. I will update this document accordingly when I have more information and do more testing. I will note however, there is no way to change which table these preset fields point to.
    Thank you for your time.
