SAP Transaction iVew für GUI-Area Menu

Hi gurus,
I have the request to create an iview that starts the sap gui and opens an area menu.
I have tried to use the SAP transaction iview to do that, but the gui can't open the area menu and shows an error (Transaction ZIPORTAL unknown). as soon as i manually write transaction SMEN into the ok-code field the area menu gets started.
any ideas????
Best regards, Alex

Hello,
I have given the correct system object and transaction code. The problem is that technicaly spoken the area menu is not the same as a transaction code.
In the most SAP systems I know the first screen after loggin on to SAP GUI is equivalent to the transaction SMEN. In SMEN the ok-code field can be used to "start" area menu.
Unfortunately the portal doesn't open the transaction SMEN automatically but opens just the SAP Easy Access Start page (type "/n" in your ok-code field as soon as you start the SAP GUI and you will know what I am talking about).
From this starting point the area menu can not be started using the ok-code field because it just is not a transaction. The same behaviour occurs when the areamenue (ZIPORTAL) is started out of any other transaction by using /nZIPORTAL in the ok-code field.
My approach would be to realise an iview that first starts transactio SMEN and then starts ZIPORTA, but I don't know how to do that using parameters or something simmilar....
maybe somebody has an idea how to do that or a different approach?!?!?
thanks & regards, Alex

  • How to create a new transaction and add it to Area Menu

    Hi.
I have to create a report and run the report using the Tcode and Tcode has to be added in the Area Menu at the initial screen.
Please tell me how can i do that.
    Thank you in advance

You can add additional menu transaction in the SAP main menu without affecting the original SAP default area menu S000.
For example, you have created a transaction code called ( z123 - ABC Own Report ) and you want to insert it under Logistics.  The specific user will be able to access ABC Own Report by clicking Logistics -> ABC Own Report.
    Steps :-
Goto Transaction SE43 - Area Menu
Click the copy button.  Copy from S000 to ZXXX
After copying, click Change (area menu ZXXX)
Double click on Logistics and add in your transaction code in the AreaMenu.
    Remembers to Activate it.
Next Goto Transaction SU01 - Maintain users
Type in the user name and click the Defaults button
Type in the area menu (ZXXX) in the Start Menu field.
    Click Save
The user will be able to see the additional transaction on the next logon.
The CUA area menus are converted to tree navigation in Release 4.6A. The menu contents are automatically copied into a new data structure in Upgrade to Release 4.6A or higher. You can edit Area Menus with a new maintenance interface (Area Menu maintenance transaction: SE43 ).
Reporting Tree Integration - Only transactions could previously be put in Area Menus. From Release 4.6A you can also put all the types of reports which are in reporting trees, in Area Menus. The system automatically assigns a transaction code to call the report from the menu. If you have already put the report in another Area Menu, no new transaction code is generated, the unique transaction code already assigned is used.
You can create Area Menus from complete reporting trees with the migration transaction RTTREE_MIGRATION . The report transaction codes are generated automatically.
Reporting trees can only be displayed. They cannot be maintained. To modify the contents of reporting trees, you must convert them with the migration transaction. You can then modify the contents with the Area Menu maintenance.

  • SAP Transactions available in Web GUI

    Folks-
Need some help. Our client is implementing SAP where the user community will only have access to the webgui. Is there some sort of list, or other means, to determine the delta between what transactions are offered in the regular SAP GUI vs what is available in the web gui?
I imagine this list would be very small, but it is crucial for us to be aware of what we will not have have access to in the web gui.
    Thanks

    Hi,
Tcodes depends on the role and profile allocated to the user.
Tcodes which you have the access to SAP GUI will be same as for WEBGUI.
As a part of Basis Person I have the basis roles for SAP GUI
The same tcodes which I can access from SAP GUI is same I can access from WEBGUI.

  • SAP transaction iview of GUI for html never works

    Hi All,
We are implementing ESS/MSS on EP 7.0, ECC 6.0, ESS/MSS 600 landscapes for India Country grouping.
There are few SAP transaction iviews of type GUI for html and we tied up those to ESS Overview homepage framworks.
However, each of these transaction iviews throws the same error messages as below :
    Error when processing your request
    What has happened?
The URL http://hostname.domain:8001/sap/public/bc/its/mimes/system/sl/page/menubase.html was not called due to an error.
The following error text was processed in the system TD1 : This function is not possible
The error occurred on the application server TCSCQ1_TD1_01 and in the work process 0 .
    The termination type was: ERROR_MESSAGE_STATE
    The ABAP call stack was:
    Method: IF_HTTP_EXTENSION~HANDLE_REQUEST of program CL_HTTP_EXT_ITS===============CP
    Method: EXECUTE_REQUEST of program CL_HTTP_SERVER================CP
    Function: HTTP_DISPATCH_REQUEST of program SAPLHTTP_RUNTIME
    Module: %_HTTP_START of program SAPMHTTP.
I have activated all of the ITS services from sicf transaction. Published all of the services (global, webdui, webdui_start, system, shuffler) to internal.
I also executed the Webgui service from sicf tcode. But, still the same error message persists. Am I missed any settings for Integrated ITS ?
When I enabled option (Display a notification about every script error) from IE options, the system keeps on giving the mesage 'window.wgu.global.eventhandler' is null or not an object, wgu.ObjEventHandler' is undefined etc.,
I have noticed that none of the ITS services never work.
I would appreciate if anyone can shade some light regarding this issue. Any guidance or inputs in this context would be of greatfully help.

  • TRANSPORT OF AREA MENU

    Hi,
Can anyone tell me how to transport "Area Menu" e.g. SMOD object "CUST2"?
    BR,
    Disha.

    Hi
The best way of transporting area menu with keeping
all entries intact will be from transaction SE43. Select
the area menu and click on truck button which will
    create a transport request.
For your case the area meny code will be S000

  • How to download list of transaction from SAP area menu in SAP1 transaction

    Hello All,
My requirement is I want to download the list of transaction under the SAP area menu in SAP1 transaction.
I tried with SE43, entered area menu as S000, but it doesn't give me of the same hierarchy and some transaction were missing, for example IH08 is available in SAP1 transaction and not available in SE43.
Could you please let me know is there any way to download the list.
    Regards,
    Thanga

If you open SE43N, type SAP1 and Display (F7), Tree is shown with collapsed nodes. Print option in Menu shows the same tree as a list. The nodes do not get expanded by default.
So in order to get expanded tree in list ( so that transaction codes can be seen), you need to expand the tree before choosing Area Menu > Print.
This works for average area menu which is less number of transactions.
Since you are looking for SAP1, it has lot of transactions, and on expanding it, information message is shown as:
The tree could only be partially expanded for performance reasons
Diagnosis: The hierarchy could not be completely expanded for performance reasons; it has too many subnodes.
    Procedure:
Restrict the number of nodes to be expanded by expanding a lower-level node
    or
Expand this node repeatedly until this message no longer appears. The hierarchy is then completely expanded.
As a result, IH08 transaction which is under Quality Management node can't be seen in list view as overflow occurred before this node was reached.
On debugging, it can be seen that the tree is expanded recursively by standard until an overflow flag is set.
In order to get around this overflow protection, you can write a custom code.
Below snippet is for demonstration purpose.
    1. Run FM BMENU_DISPLAY_RSTREE in SE37 with tree_id as QM01
    2. Run my snippet that calls same FM in the end
Compare 2 outputs and see the difference.
I am going 1 level deep and IH08 transaction can be seen in output.
Similarly, you can write a code that recursively expands every sub-tree found so that entire list can be seen.

  • How to add z transaction to area menu fo sap initial screen

    Hi,
we have created 'z transaction'. how to attach it in area menu of sap initial screen.
we need to attach it to logistics>financial accounting> clients.
could you please help me .

    Hi,
There is no need of creating any t-code for a area menu. The area menu name given by is the t-code to acces the area menu.
SO create the area enu with the name which you want to create the t-code.
To create a t-code to a standard area menu just go to se43 and copy the standard area menu to your z area menu (z area menu name should be the t-code you want to create.)
If you know the transaction code of that clients then goto se43 and give that transaction code and then copy to z_transaction code.
If you dont kow the transaction code of that clients then open clients throuch the path logictics->fiancial accounting->clients then look at the status to find the t-code.
    Thanks
    Kiran.

  • HIde Menu,System and Command Promt from transaction ivew

    Hi,
Our client has implemented SAP HR module, year back.
Now they are implementing ESS and they have done some developments for CLAIMS in R/3 earlier. Now they want to see those claims in portal. For that we have created transactional iview. Its coming fine in portal. But the only problem is that, its displaying sap standard menu. i.e menu, system and command promt in portal. Now my concern is how to hide these things ???
    Useful Answer's will rewarded.

    Put these parameters
    ~noHeaderOkCode = 1
    ~webTransactionType = EWT.
    in transaction sicf
    ->sap->bc->gui->sap->its-> Webgui
push button gui configuration and set the parameters
check with se93 if transaction is web enabled

  • How to Put together all SAP Transactions that are used a single User

    Dear Friends,
In our client place, each user will be given a set of transaction codes, (like Sales Order Creation, Invoice Creation etc....). Each user role differs with other user role.
Our client requirement is to put together all transaction codes on which his role is assigned, for instance transaction coeds like VA11, VA15N, VA21, VA25N, VL01N, VL06O, Print command. and customer generated report 'Z' codes should be placed together in a single transaction.
I heard about area menus but I dont know how to call that functionality within the Sales Transactions. Could any one of you help me to resolve this issue. Your suggestions will be highly appreciated.
    Thank you,
    Raghu Ram

    HI,
In case of your requirement , you can create an Area Menu (SE43) based on the role and assign all the required transactions.
Later you can assign that Area Menu as the default parameter to the User ID (SU01).
Whenever the user will logon he will see that area menu instead of initial SAP screen.
Please check with the same and confirm.
    Regards,
    Harsh

  • Dynamically build a SAP Transaction menu?

    Hi All,
We are connecting EP7 to an ECC backend to run SAP transactions.
Rather than building hundreds of roles in the portal, or uploading them,  is it possible to have the portal dynamically build a detailed navigation menu for each user by reading a person roles in the backend ECC system?
I've heard that this can be done with a custom iView.  It reads the User Menu from the backend and displays it in the portal. Is this iView available for downloading?
    Thanks

    Hi Anton,
If I understand you correctly then you have a webdynpro iView with 2 values and you want to access a transaction iView by sending these 2 values as input parameters.
You can achieve this using Portal Navigation. This document provides details:

    Hi,
We are accessing portal through internet on reverse proxy(Apache) but the SSO is failing when accessing sap transactions in portal but other screens(ESS) are accessible. Please let me know does this require any config settings in portal or apache side.
    thanks i advance.

    Hi Rajender,
I tried doing the same in the ECC system but the iview is throwing error"resource not available".
We have given just an Apache Ip address in the format  <ipaddress>:80 as we doesn't have FQDN for the apache in the place of WebAs and ITS Host name.
Also the WEBAS path is /sap/bc/bsp/sap and ITS path is /sap/bc/gui/sap/its/webgui. Does this require any modifications.
Please also let me know for any changes need to be done on the httpd.config file on Apache server.
    portal.xxxxx.xxx.xx  - Our External URL

Please let me know the exact format of the entries to be made in ITS and Web As settings with the apache details.

  • Invoking SAP transaction in native SAP GUI

    Hi,
I need to invoke SAP transaction in native SAP UI and not web browser using a Java application or any executable application.
    Can this be done?
    Thanks,

    Hello Vijaya,
I assume your question is whether SAP transactions can be run via a Web Browser without a JRE being installed - right?
The answer to this question is: That depends on the transaction.
You can use SAP GUI for HTML (a service of the SAP integrated ITS) to render many SAP transactions in the browser (for limitations have a look at note 314568). However if you do not want to use Java applets this means one additional limitation: You will not be able to download or upload files from the browser to the SAP system. Before doing anything like this I would strongly recommend to do thorough testing (and rethink why no JRE should be used).
BTW: Follow ups to this question should be better posted in the SAP ITS forum.
    Best regards,
    Frank

    Hello
when you excecute the query in right han side corner  you can get the program name
go to se80 select program & type this name and then you can create a tcode for that prog in SE80
    reward points if helpful.
the prog name will be something like : AQZZ/SAPQUERY/* " ur query name
you can search for the name also in this manner
