SAP Tree Features

I have created a Tree structure using RS_TREE_CONSTRUCT. When I click or double click on any node it should go to documentation stored in SE61. Please let me know how this can be achieved.

You are already work on SAP. If I am in your position, I would grab the opportunity. You have every opportunity to learn on a live environment. If you work hard and I am sure you would be more confident in the next coming years. It would be a real opportunity for you to learn many thing. I know it is difficult time being a lone person, but, you have ample opportunity.
If you are confident, going for certification is NOT a bad a idea. You can pass the certification and prove the commitment that you have for continuous learning. Your employer would surely recognize your efforts. But, in my opinion, you should work at the same place for next an year or so. Then, you can think of continuing or moving to other employer.

SAP Tree order problem

Hi experts,
I have a SAP Tree made using the class cl_simple_tree_model.
I add nodes to it calling the method add_node.
That is working, but the order of nodes of level one has been inverted. That is, the first node that is added appear in the last position of tree.
That occurs only with the nodes of level one.
How can I solve this?

I´m using append. Although I´m sure that if I was using insert the result would be the same.
Here is the logic:

SAP Upgrade - Features

Hi,
We are working in a sap upgrade project ECC 5.0 to ECC6.0. We have found a issue in the features ( PE03) after the upgrade of the dev system. The modifications done to the features has now been overwritten by sap.
eg: The dates maintained in the Feature GBCHG - decision tree nodes are not the same before and after upgrade.
1. Are changes to features captured in SPAU/SPDD or what is the way to find out which/what features need to be adjusted again ?
2. Are there any other sap hr objects configurations which needs to be taken care similar to features?

Hmmm, have you checked the overall structure of the Feature in QA using PE03. A lot of implementations change the way a structure is used to assist their configuration.
When you are in PE03 click on Attributes to look at the author of the changes for the Feature. This is seen on the Administrative Data box (bottom of the page). Notice if Last Changed is a User Name of a company user instead of SAP.
Also when you're in this view, review the actual structure to determine if the same Structure and fields match what you have in DEV.
I really doubt SAP has changed the Feature from ECC 5 to ECC 6. It is much more likely someone has reconfigured the Feautre a long time back.

SAP DMS Features vs MS Sharepoint

We are trying to find out the reasons why on why we should or should not use SAP DMS over MS Sharepoint
I am completely new to SAP DMS and I would like to do a comparison based on features/ease of implementation/cost etc.
SAP is already implemented in our company.
Now Could somebody please list out whether the following features are ( Readily available/can be customized/Not possible)
Co authoring (MS Sharepoint supports it)
Indexing features Supported?(File indexing/Meta data based)
Search functionality
2 Stage Recycle Bin (MS Sharepoint supports it) (Basically what happens when you delete a file from SAP? Is it easily recoverable?)
Permission configuration at folder level

Rights Permission for View, Edit, Add, Print, Download, Copy etc
Will DMS protect docs once it leaves the SAP system – for example after downloading it as a document in a Microsoft Office format, in PDF or other formats, without further enforcement, can such documents be copied, forwarded, printed, modified?

Free product. A user interface which works like explorer, you can create folders and put your documents in it which creates in background a bill of document ( like BOM) which is not truely possible in ERp(possible but will be insane using it in SAP GUI).
2. Challenges involved in implementation of Easy DMS
Windows Vista and Windows / supprted. Not tested the other operating systems but it won't work for all operation systems and some basic bugs but setting up is very easy, download and just install it than enter the imformations like your router, İp etc which you were already entering for SAP.
3. Content Server would be provided by SAP right?
Yes it is also free together with MaxDB.

You need another server called Trex 7.1 whic is also free ..

When you delete a document you just put a deletion flag in Document information record, you are not really deleting the original from server. You need archiving for that with SARA and run Delete all files after arcihing means that not that easy to delete.

There is no real permission configuration for folders. It uses the same authorsation with SAP , document type based, statuı based etc.. But there is ALC authorisation if you use Easy DMS which uses Microsoft authorisation for windows but you do it for user saying the "the user" can enter "the" document.
**Rights Permission for View, Edit, Add, Print, Download, Copy etc
Do not hing the original and the data linked to original together. You should aware of that SAP can not manages the original itself. It can only manage the document information record which is the data like the document number and definition but not the original. SO the copy of document always possible although you give the display authorisation for the document. because it have to be checked out localy to your own computer to be displayed and this automatically causes the document to be copied if the user wants unless you are using another tool ECL viewer(SAP's another free tool to work on CAD files like DWG,DXF and alos supprts PDF etc, it has its own restrictions..)
And the story goes on...
From my side DMS has only one real advantage if you are already using SAP which is "object linking". You have to make development thing for the share point to link your originals to SAP object like material, equipment, notification etc. But in SAP it is very easy, usefull , and very easy to manage for both departments at the same time... And also classification and charcteristic support also very usefull which directly creates tabs in reporting too.. The last case yo use DMS is if you are using ECM(Engineering change management than it makes reasonable to use DMS which has direct integration..
Otherwise continue using sharepoint..

Email notification and SAP Script feature M0001

Hi All,
I have posted this questions in HCM forum but am posting again in ABAP forum since SAP script is related to ABAP development also. I will appreciate your help on this.
I am trying to send a notification to a distribution list whenever there is a specific Action (MASSN). I have two issues while trying to do so -
1 - I have defined the dynamic action and feature M0001 and a SAP script in SO10. I am getting the message in my inbox but with the variables from IT0000 only. In my sap script I have defined fields from IT0002/ IT0041 etc but those fields are coming as blank in my notification. Is this because I have configured dynamic action for IT0000 only. This is how my dynamic action looks like -
0000 06 1 P **SEND IF CHANGE IN MASSN -IT0000*****
0000 06 2 P T001P-MOLGA='10'
0000 06 4 P P0000-MASSN='UP'
0000 06 6 P P0000-MASSG='02'

Do I have to define these configurations for each and every infotype (that I have used in my SAP script) in table T588Z ?
2 - I want to include the position text instead of the Position no. in my notification. How can I do that? Since position text is stored in T582 table and not in P0000 or P0001.

Do you know how the problem was finally solved in your former company?
I already had a look to your post before, but for me the question is still opened. We have a corporate (non SAP) portal which users see by default when they open their browser and from where they can navigate to the SAP portal, in which we do not have single sign on.
So our users will definitely not login to the SAP Portal by themselves (nor to go to UWL, nor to display the homepage).
Maybe that an applet running on the corporate portal and doing RFC calls on the different back-ends would solve it, but I believe that might be quite a burden to develop, especially if we start talking to various non SAP systems as well. A better approach would probably be to query the portal db to look at what is in each user's UWL. But I have no idea of how the UWL data is structured in the portal and how it is updated (i.e. is the delta pull mechanism also running when a user is not logged in the portal?). I am also not sure whether there is an API in the portal to query this easily (i.e. similar to SAP_WAPI_COUT_WORKITEMS). Has anyone tried this approach before?
