SAP* unable to connect to EP6

We are having problems with users being unable to logon to our EP6 system; this includes the ‘Administrator’ userid.  I believe that UME is configured to use the ABAP DB (but need to connect to UME config webscreen to check - which I cannot do)
I had activated the Emergency User ‘SAP*’ (following SAPHelp procedure and restarted WAS)  and attempted to connect to the Portal via the website http://komepserver:50004/irj/portal  and this also failed with same error ‘User Authentication failed’.
I also tried suggestion from OSS note Note 886879 - User "SAP*" cannot log on to UME by setting UME configuration parameter "login.ticket_portalid" from its current value (default: "auto") to value "yes" (and restarted WAS).   This also had no effect.
In addition the SAP* is unable to logon via the Visual Administrator as this receives the error ‘Unable to lookup connection SAP*  http://komepserver:50004/msgserver/text/logon returned empty list of connection parameters’.
Has anybody had similar problem to determine why we cannot connect using the SAP*.

Hi
needed to connect to the Portal's UME useradmin.  I could connect to the Visual Administrator using the Administrator userid but not to the UME useradmin page or the regular Portal Admin pages.... the Portal does start and provides the userid/password page but does not accept the userid of 'Administrator'...and when I had activated SAP* and restarting portal it also does not accept userid of 'SAP*'.
That is the first mystery I am trying to figure out - as without access to UME I cannot check fully the UME settings.
Sorry I cannot be sure if ABAP is used as UME database - no documentation on the install that was performed here and nobody here knows anything about it - apart from the fact that nobody can logon to the Portal !!.  But I am fairly sure that ABAP DB is being used.  If so then do you have to use the SAP userid of J2EE_ADMIN to logon to the Portal as Administrator instead of 'Administrator'.  (That J2EE_ADMIN was not locked in SU01 by the way.)
I was told also that this all started to go bad when the SAP logon ticket for SSO was updated in December - if SAP logon tickets are being used then when attempting to connect via SAP* would it tried to verify via the SAP ABAP DB first or simply use the WAS's SAP* userid.
I have logged an OSS note on this and will let you know if they come back with anything - but of course I would like this solved today if the soluition is simple.
thanks for any further assistance.

  • BO 4.0 - Database error: Unable to connect to SAP BW Incomplete logon data

    Hello Experts,
I have enabled a 'SSO to database' between SAP BW and Business objects by referencing to the documents related to below link.
I have created a universe connection with option 'use single sign on when refreshing reports at view time' and have created a universe on top of my BEx query by log-in to the universe designer tools using my LDAP account.
Now when I run the report with either SAP account or LDAP - I am able to run a adhoc webi report on this universe and get data either through the webi rich client or via BO 4.0 Info-view/Launch Pad.
But the issue is that when other users are trying to run webi queries on this universe either through Info-view/launch pad or rich client by log-in via LDAP Authentication - they get the below error: I have given SAP_ALL to this user for time being and also have done the necessary configuration for 'simple user format' in CMC so these user has 1 account with 3 alias definitions: Enterprise, SAP, R/3.
Database error: Unable to connect to SAP BW server Incomplete logon data -
If the user logs on into the BO 4.0 Info-view/launch pad or webi rich client using his SAP authentication than he is able to run and retrieve data.
I also get a dump in the SAP BW system - I analyzed the dump in SAP BW using st22 tcode and it gives the error short text as - Incomplete logon data and run-time error -  CALL_FUNCTION_SIGNON_INCOMPL
    Desired outcome:
I want the users to log-in to webi rich client or BO 4.0 Launch pad/Info-view using their 'LDAP'  authentication and run reports against the universe on SAP BW/BEx query without any errors or additional username/password requirements.
Can someone please tell me if I am missing any steps/configuration and guide me to achieve the above mentioned desired result ?
Any help in this matter would be greatly appreciated.

    Hi Simone,
    Thank you for the reply.
Here are the things done by me.
    1. Generated the keystore file and imported it in BI 4.0 CMC on  SAP Authentication Option tab
        ([http://wiki.sdn.sap.com/wiki/display/BOBJ/GeneratekeystoreandcertificateforSAPBO+BI4.0])
    2. Generate the certificate file cert.der and this cert is imported in SAP BW with STRUSTSSO2 transaction.
    3. BW Roles/Users have been imported into CMC.
    4. SAP Users and LDAP users are mapped/aliased with each other using the registry key method
        ([http://wiki.sdn.sap.com/wiki/display/BOBJ/HowtomapSAPusersandLDAPusersinSBOBI4.0+CMC])
I haven't explicitly configured STS (Security token service) as STS is a part of Adaptive processing server (APS) and I have verified that by going to servers in CMC and then to analysis services.
I have searched for SAP OSS notes related to my issue but couldn't find any note related to SAP BW SSO with Business objects 4.0. Most of the notes are relevant for BO XI 3.1 environments.
    Thanks & regards,
    CD.

    Whether your problem is solved?
We have the same problem in BO Mobile.
Two users from one BW-role, BO-groups; one user report is executed, another user - error incomplete logon data. In Web Intelligence both users reports succeeds.

  • Mensaje: Unable to connect to SAP Business One

La primer ventana dice con titulo XL Reporter : Unable to connect to SAP Bussines One.

    Hi Experts,
Im getting this error on one of our clients' workstations.
    They have SAPB1 2005A PL 31.
We've tried uninstalling and reinstalling the DIAPI and the whole client application as well.  Same error.
It als gives an error after the initial error that says:
"Security Settings in Microsoft Excel prohibit XL Reporter from running."
    Any suggestions?
    Thanks!

    hi jairus,
To fix this XLR error 'unable to connect to SAP Business One DI API', do the following:
    1. Go to control panel and uninstall SAP DI API
    2. Run %temp%
    3. Rename the folder SM_OBS_DLL
    4. Go to the patch level package of the patch level you are using and install DI API. If you get a message that the installation already exists, ignore the message and proceed to install DI API.

  • Unable to create Business Layer on top of SAP BW OLAP Connection - BI 4.0

    Friends,
Need an useful information, why can't we create a business layer on top of SAP BW OLAP connection which is built with BICS driver.
Today when i tried to create a business layer in IDT tool of BI 4.0 it didnt allow me to do so. Is it a s/w bug or am i following a wrong approach. I do know, we can create a .unx universe through relational connection. But i dont want that, please provide your input.
    thanks,
    Tilak

    Hi,
this question has been asked many times before, so a search will reveal your answer.
as the warning told you when you tried the workflow in IDT - business layers aren't supported for Bics connections - i.e. you can't create a UNX ontop of Bex using BICS..
unfrotunately, it was a strategic product decision that seemingly can't be reversed/influenced, despite the inherent problems this causes.
There are lots of requests for this feature to be restored, on the Ideas Place here: https://cw.sdn.sap.com/cw/community/ideas/businessanalytics/sbosemanticlayer
Please search and Vote for one.

  • RFC JCo 3 unable to connect to SAP AS with sapgw01 service

Greetings - help is greatly appreciated.
I have an RFC server that uses JCo 3.0.5 to connect to the SAP Application server.  When the RFC server is run from a Unix system the gateway service and port needs to be added to the unix systems /etc/services file.  We have two (actually 21) sap systems, one has a gateway service id of sapgw00, the other sapgw01.  We added both gateway services with port 3300 to the Unix /etc/systems file and are able to connect to the sapgw00 system but not the sapgw01 system.  The sapgw01 system is returning the following error.  Without sapgw01 in the /etc/services file we get a different error - so it's doing something.

    Hello Sir,
I am a student who is pursuing a project that deals with JCo 3.
I read your question on the forum and think that you have done the JCo stuff and can answer my questions.
Kindly, try to shed some light on following question:
Q1: I simply want to start with connecting my SAP system. I have a user ID and password for the same.
I saw some examples where they use "JCo.createClient(....)" and "JCo.client.connect()" to simply connect the client but
when I type in the code it shows me an error, because they are using package "com.sap.mw.jco" but since I am using JCo3,
I don't have that package instead I have "com.sap.conn.jco" which do not have createClient function.
Q2: By setting the classpath for "sapjco.jar" I was able to compile one of the sample programs but could not run it. Do you
know how to run the SAP JCo program.
Your guidance will be highly appreciated
    -Thanks

  • Crystal Report with text(csv) data file, unable to connect on deployment.

    Hi
I have a crystal report that connects to a text file using (Access/Excel DAO).
Now I wrote a C# .net code that loads this report and change the file name to the text file to a different file
using table.TableName and  table.Location to the new file and location,
    then I do applyLogonInfo.
This worked perfectly on the machine where I developed my report and code but when I put the
files to a different machine where I need to deploy the reports, I get the following error.
Unable to connect: incorrect log on parameters.
       at CrystalDecisions.ReportAppServer.Controllers.DatabaseControllerClass.SetTa
    bleLocation(ISCRTable CurTable, ISCRTable NewTable)
       at CrystalDecisions.CrystalReports.Engine.Table.set_Location(String value)
       at ComponentCalcsReport.GenerateCrystalReport.getReportInPdf(String reportfil
    e, String fileName)
I have done the following on the deployment machine.
    1) I have installed the CR_runtime libraries required to be able to run crystal report applications.
    2) I have put my .rpt file and the .csv database files in the correct folder.
    3) I have put my exe file on the machine.
I run it from the command line.
Am I missing something like registering the DAO or creating a DSN explicitly?

    Hi,
After searching through the forums I found this nice document
    http://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/scn/go/portal/prtroot/docs/library/uuid/b0225775-88c4-2c10-bd80-8298769293de?quicklink=index&overridelayout=true
Using it's steps, I found out that when I created the report file using CR, I had the data connection set as a path
on the D drive. But the client/deployment machine did not have a D drive and hence the path to which the database was
pointing to. Therefore, the error "cannot connect to database" since the database name was pointing to D:pathToData
When I created a report that was on the C drive and it's data connection was also made from C drive then the same report worked fine on the client machine. I had to make sure that on the client machine I set up the exact same folder structure as the development machine's (i.e. C:pathToMyDataandReportFolder).
I tried using the setConnection function to change this path at run-time but did not succeed.

  • Unable to connect to Services Registry(error) while connecting from NWDS

    Hi SDN friends,
I am trying to do WSDL import from NWDS (Developer Studio SAP NetWeaver 7.1 Composition Environment SP03 PAT0000 Build id: 200710302120 ) and i am getting  following error
"Unable to connect to Services Registry"
Below are  the service regsitry details i am passing
    window --> Preferences
    Service Registry (UDDI Service)
    Server Name:sr.esworkplace.sap.com
    Server Port:sr.esworkplace.sap.com
    Server Port:50000
    Server HTTPS Port:50043
    Inquiry Path:uddi/api/inquiry
    Publish Path:uddi/api/publish
    Security Path:uddi/api/security
    Classification Service
    Server Name:sr.esworkplace.sap.com
    Server Port:50000
    Server HTTPS Port:50043
    Classification Path:ClassificationService/CS?style=document
I am using the following credentials for login to UDDI Service http://sr.esworkplace.sap.com
    login/pwd: sruser
    password: esword123
I tried  with two different systems (office and Home) , bit still not connecting.
    Waiting for experts answer.
    Thanks
    Aravinda

    Hi,
You wrote that you connect to the SAP uddi:
    Service Registry (UDDI Service)
    Server Name:sr.esworkplace.sap.com
    Server Port:sr.esworkplace.sap.com
    Server Port:50000
    Server HTTPS Port:50043
    Inquiry Path:uddi/api/inquiry
    Publish Path:uddi/api/publish
    Security Path:uddi/api/security
sr.esworkplace.sap.com is not on your home pc. Its a SAP public uddi.
If you want to connect to your own pc than your configuration would be sompething like this:
    Server Name:localhost
    Server Port:50000
    Server HTTPS Port:50043
    Inquiry Path:uddi/api/inquiry
    Publish Path:uddi/api/publish
    Security Path:uddi/api/security
And you shouldn't use this login data
    login/pwd: sruser
    password: eswork123
    regards,
    v s

  • Transaction iview Unable to Connect to Backend

Transaction iview Unable to Connect to Backend
    Hi guys,
I am new to SAP and i am having several issues.
Right now i am stuck here, in the NetWeaver Portal:
I have created a Transaction iview and a System with Alias "SAP_R3".
When i preview the iview i am getting the following error:-
No user mapping defined for system SAP_R3
    Followed by:-
    404   Not Found
    SAP J2EE Engine/7.00
The requested resource does not exist.
      Details:
Go to main page of this application!
An urgent response will be highly appreciated
    Thanks much,
    B

    Hello B,
    I see two issues here.
    1. User Mapping
    2. The requested resource does not exist.
    For 1,
First go to System Admin ->System Config search for SAP_R3 system and open it and as told before check the user management property.
also chck taht you should get the System SAP_R3 in personalize user mapping option.
    2. The requested resource error can come when the corresponding iview been attached to the role has been moved or deleted.
Request you to clear cache first by system admin -> system config->navigation
    then follow this blog:
Create SAP Transaction iView using SAPGUI for Windows
    Hope this helps!
If not, please update the message accordingly.
