Sap_uwl_selecteditem in the UWL workitem URL

Hi,
I needed to capture the value that is generated for sap_uwl_selecteditem in the UWL work item URL.
Is there a way to get its value as we do for the work item id by setting the dynparam as wi_id=${item.externalType} ?
Thanks & Regards,
Jyoti

Hi Arpit,
Check the UWL iview that you are using.  The sap_uwl_selecteditem is a parameter that is stored on the iview.  On my internal test portal the value for this parameter is set to -1.
I hope that this information is helpful to you.

  • Reg : UWL Workitem URL

    Hi All,
    I have an issue - when I execute the workitem from UWL ( which is leave request approval workitem ) it generates the following url.
    http://<FQDN of Host Name >:50000/irj/servlet/prt/portal/prteventname/Navigate/prtroot/pcd!3aportal_content!2fevery_user!2fgeneral!2fdefaultDesktop!2fframeworkPages!2fframeworkpage!2fcom.sap.portal.innerpage!2fcom.sap.portal.contentarea?NavigationTarget=ROLES%3A%2F%2Fportal_content%2Fevery_user%2Fgeneral%2Fuwl%2Fcom.sap.netweaver.bc.uwl.uwlSapWebDynproLaunch&System=SAP_ECC_HumanResources&WebDynproDeployableObject=sap.com%2Fess%7Elea&WebDynproApplication=LeaveRequestApprover&DynamicParameter=wi_id%3F000000900710&CurrentWindowId=WID8123090089916&NavMode=1
    This url takes me to the portal logon page and asks for login id & password and infact never logs me in.
    But when the SAP_ECC_HumanResources is replaced by SAP_LocalSystem it works fine...
    So my question is where does the UWL fetch the system - SAP_ECC_HumanResources .....
    Note : In SWFVISU i have already changed it to SAP_LocalSystem but still the URL picks up SAP_ECC_HumanResources....
    Best Regards,

    Hi All,
    Please help me in this regards - the UWL workitem is giving System = SAP_ECC_HumanResources in the below URL where as it should have System = SAP_LocalSystem .

    Hi,
      After using the extended notifcations and sent a mail to outlook then as soon as the user  clicks on the link then he would be able to see a normal decision screen.
      If you are exepecting a webdynpro screen to appear then it would not be possible to show by using the Extended notifications, ( I hope)

  • Open UWL workitem from outlook mail

    Hello friends,
    I have a requirement to execute/open workitem of UWL, which should open from outlook...
    I have searched for the same in sdn forum and SAP-WUG, but was unsuccessful to find the exact solution...
    I have used 3 technique to achive the requirement, but they are not working and also don't know it is a right approach or not..
    1) Maintained the UWL url in SWNCONFIG-> General setting -> INBOX_LINK_URL
    2) Configured setting as suggested for Extended notification and UWL in link
    http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw70/helpdata/de/ad/d64842d59fb430e10000000a155106/content.htm
    3) Maintained link in SWNCONFIG-> General setting -> WD_HOST and WG_HOST
    For getting the UWL workitem link in Outlook wich program needs to be executed --> 1) RSWUWFML2  OR  2) SWN_SELSEN ?
    I am not sure the requirement is possible or not...
    If it is possible then please suggest the right approach and the techniques I have tried are correct or not?
    Thanks and Regards,
    Mihir

    Dear Karri,
    I am very new to workflow. So I don't know why and where webdynpro application is used in my senario... And I will be very obliged to bare with me if I don't understand any terminology of workflow.
    I would like to share my complete senario with you.
    I have a existing workflow on "COURSE BOOKING" which is already working on production perfectly. And the manager is approving it on UWL for it.
    Now the requirement was given like this... I was told that manager has to search the workitem in UWL and had do refresh many time. So they asked me to provide a link or attachment of UWL's workitem directly in notification mail, so that he only needs to click on that link or attachment and required workitem in UWL will open and he/she could make decision.
          The requirement is very similary to the notification mail generted by program RSWUWFML2, which has 3 attachements and among them 1 is of Execute Workitem, which open up SAP R/3 inbox's workitem directly. Means he doesn't need to search in SBWP...
          So here in my case instead of SAP R/3 inbox workitem, he should open Portal UWL's workitem directly.
    Now I come to your question about "webdynpro application launches workitem". I don't know where the webdynpro application comes into the picture...
    Please guide...
    Thanks & Regards,
    Mihir

  • Getting UWL workitem count in WD 4 Java Application

    Hi,
    Our team is trying to get the UWL workitem count that appears on the Tasks tab in a webdynpro for Java application . Is it possible to get the count .i.e. (New Workitems)/(Old Workitems) in a Webdynpro for Java application?
    Thanks
    Aditya

    PLEAAAASE!!! somebody help us out with this one, we really need to get this done, and given the lack of responses this has got so far, I think it might not be possible at all.
    Just some thoughts on the subject, anyway.
    When creating the UWLcontext, you need to set a user for it (e.g. context.setUser( ) ), so does that mean that I will never be able to get the UWL task list/count for more than one user at a time? and does that also mean that, if a user is set to the UWLContext, in order for it to work, it needs to be authenticated with an ongoing session at the time of execution?
    Again, please, these observations might or might not provide additional help in order to resolve this issue, but at least got to try something...

  • Sending URL's to outllook which directly links to th workitem of the UWL

    My project which was developed on ASP with oracle is now being re-designed into enterprise portals and SAP R/3 4.6c. Here the scenario is when a user creates or changes a pricing condition on the PORTAL .it should trigger a workflow in SAP r/3 which goes through a loop of approval process and finally gets approved or rejected.
    Here the notifications are sent to the approver’s outlook where the outlook subject should contain two links, the first should link to the portal UWL and the second should link to the respective WORKITEM in the UWL.
    My questions are
    1)     How an event on the portal side does trigger a workflow at the backend?
                Do we need to explicitly raise the event in the BAPI for create/change to trigger workflow using SWE_EVENT_CREATE or is there any alternative?
    2)     How to send a notification to the outlook with URL’s which directly points to UWL and respective work item in the portal UWL?
                     I gone through the EXTENDED NOTIFICATIONS FOR SAP Business WORKFLOW help file but I didn’t a clear picture of it.
                             It is all with the BSP’s in the help file?
    3)     Its only configuration that we do in the portal to  get all the work items from  SAP inbox or Do we need to do any extra coding to get all the work items into the UWL ?
    Please do the need full .Basically I am new to WEBFLOW. So, if possible spare some time and send me the flow and the solutions in detail.
    Advance thanks…
    Warm regards,
    Sateesh

    Hi sateesh
    To make RSWUWFML2 work at least you have to do:
    1. Set up SAP Gatway to connect to Outlook (SCOT) as type INT
    2. There are some settings additional that basis will have to carry out - CHECK OSS for that
    3. Ensure all the users have home email address
    4. In SO16 Tab MailSySgRP choose send email to user's home address
    5. Then in SAP schedule report RSWUWFML2 (frequency should be ideally
    every 10 min -depends on the volume of emails)
    You will find further information in note: 733681
    If the requirement for direct acces to the workitem in the UWL is very important you could do the following:
    Make a copy of the report ie. ZRSWUWFMS2 and make the appropriate changes in the code and schedule that instead. This is not recomendable, since all changes made to the report by SAP will be lost to you.
    Hope it helps
    Kind regards
    Mikkel

  • Use UWL API in a Servet and access the servlet via URL

    Hi All,
    Actually I want to write a servlet from which I will access the uwl items using UWL APIs. And then I will submit HTTP Request to this servlet via url and want to get the UWL items in response. Is it Possible. I know that it is possible to access uwl items from JSPDynpage but is it possible to use it via servlet. If possible please give me some idea. what are the prerequisite.
    Thanks and Regards

    Hello,
    I see your thread is still unanswered, were you able to resolve the problem yourself (if so can you share with others who may have the same problem)? If so can you add anymore details which may help someone else to find an answer?  Or is it ok to mark this post as assumed answered?

  • Calling a BSP App from the UWL - What is required?

    Hello,
    We are trying to call a BSP application using workflow from the UWL. We are using ECC5.0(ERP2004) and EP6.0.
    I have setup a Std Task to call method EXTSRV:PROCESS and in the task container I have the parameters that the BSP is expecting.
    I have set the task as BSP_Standard is transaction SWFVISU. The visulisation parameters I have set as follows:
    APP_PATH:      sap/bc/bsp/sap/yfi_aa_b_req
    CONFIRM:
    SYSTEM_ALIAS:  SAP_R3_Financials
    I could not find any documentation on what these parameters should be so I have taken an educated guess.
    The current configuration opens the HTML SAPGui with a generic screen stating that the workitem is in process, but there is no sign of the BSP application
    I need to confirm that there is no other Portal Content Directory configuration required with respect to the Launcher/Handler in the portal.
    Also that the setting for the visualisation parameters are correct:
    Eg.
    APP_PATH "Complete path to the BSP Application"
    CONFIRM "Flag to show a confirm end of step button"
    SYSTEM_ALIAS "The ECC System alias defined in the portal"
    Yor help would be appreciated.
    Regards
    Mark Rodrigues

    Sorry for the tardy reply, we were swamped by a deadline and I have only had a chance to re-surface in SDN.
    Here is an example of the UWL XML config:

          <Actions>
            <Action name="launchWSHanlder" groupAction="" handler="XhandlerLauncher" returnToDetailViewAllowed="yes" launchInNewWindow="yes">
              <Properties>
                <Property name="webservice_url" value="http://ssisapd3.app.govnet.qld.gov.au:8040/sap/bc/webflow/wshandler"/>
                <Property name="sap-client" value="110"/>
                <Property name="display_order_priority" value="5"/>
              </Properties>
              <Descriptions default=""/>
            </Action>
          </Actions>
        </ItemType>
    Hope this helps. As mentioned you have probably worked it out yourself now.
    That Callback URL was very important for sending the terminating event back to R/3.

  • UWL workitem does not open ISRFormApprove application - isr/PCR - MSS BP

    We have configured the UWL based on the standard UWL config. guide. The standard itemtypes for MSS which launches the ISRFormApprove application (TS91000075) is part of the xml config. This was working properly when the ABAP stack and Java stack were on the same server (xR2DB1). At that time the ISR webdynpro applications were on the same server (xR2DB1). Now the ISR webdynpro applications are on the portal server (xE2DB1). When we try to open the workitem it looks for the application on xR2DB1 instead of xE2DB1. The error we get is

  • UWL Workitem hangs

    Hi all,
    We have a UWL work item that is used to approve Purchase Requisitions. This work item is hanging for a few users only when trying to approve/reject in UWL. It looks like a rendering problem as it hangs the browser session at e.g. while loading :
    (12 items remaining) Downloading picture https://<portal hostname>/irj/portalapps/com.sap.portal.design.urdesigndata/themes/portal/UGS_Tradeshow/common/.....
    This appears to hang at this URL...
    Any ideas?
    Thanks, Neeta

    Hi,
    What happens if you try to call the SAP standard UWL iview, do you get the same issue?
    So what I mean by this is:
    Log on to the portal with an id that has tasks in the UWL and can
    access the PCD.  Go to Content Administration    > Portal content
    1. Content provided by SAP
    2. End user content
    3. Standard Portal users
    4. Iviews
    5. com.sap.netweaver.bc.uwl.iviews
    6. open the folder
    7. right click on the Universal Worklist
    8. and display a preview.
    9. Launch workitem from here, what happens?
    - Get the support information for the task as well.  Cross reference this with the task id and check the troubleshooting the content configuration page in the UWL Admin UI.  You may find that there is an issue too with the xml file and how the user decisions are handled.
